  • Satellite M40 - 114 bluetooth systemboard question

    Hi all

I have question regardin my bluetooth and the motherboard.

Center of Service Toshiba has replaced the motherboard in my laptop.
I can't turn on my bluetooth for the replacement of the motherboard. FN + F8 doesn't work and bluetooth stack reports ' bluetooth device is not ready ". reinstalled XP via orginal Toshiba CD-ROM. But does not help.

I discovered something strange, is that in the software sis sandra 2005, my laptop is reconignezed by satellite A40 PSA40U. They replace the motherboard with an old model? This could be the reason why the bleutooth no longer works?

  • How do I start bluetooth on Satellite M40-184

    Hello
I bought a new Satellite M40 and I found that I have the Bluetooth Manager, but it does not show me the that Bluetooth at all besides it still gives me the message "Bluetooth device is not ready" even when my bluetooth is turned on! Kindly let me know how to solve this problem, as I have been through the whole pages of starting Instructions and possible help, but nothing seems to work. Thanx

    Hello Imran

It will be interesting to know what unit should be connected to your device (mobile phone, printer). I hope that use you the FN + F8 key combination to activate the Bluetooth connection. If the Bluetooth connection is enabled you can start a wizard and search for other Bluetooth devices.

More... (!), I have a PowerMac G5 and airport network wireless broadband BT Yahoo. Is it possible to connect my new PC to a network of MAC - or is it the Devil's own work?

    Thank you

    Hello

Satellite M40 has no Bluetooth. This means that you must buy a USB BT's key. It's not expensive and installation is very simple. Usually, if you buy the one that you will get the software CD. Before installing any software, check if your unit has installed Bluetooth stack.

I'm sure you will find battery Bluetooth for Windows by Toshiba V3.10.00 on your device. In the control panel check Add and Remove Programs option. List all the installed components.

    Good luck!

  • Re: Bluetooth hardware not detected on Satellite M40-145

    Hello

I recently changed the HD of my Satellite M40-145. I have successfully used the recovery CD, office etc, and now everything seems to work fine... All except the Bluetooth, it is not detected (this laptop has a Bluetooth chip internal). It does not appear on the Device Manager list. I was reading some FAQ in the web of Bluetooth Toshiba and tried to install it again Toshiba Bluetooth Stack but there is still not detected. Any idea?, any solution?

Thanks in advance for your attention (and I apologize for my bad English)

If your laptop is preinstalled with original recovery image please activate the BT module (WLAN WIFI switch must be ON, and then use the FN + F8 key combination) and I hope that BT's standard installation starts automatically.

When you are finished Device Manager check again. The components of BT enabled and installed should appear correctly.

  • Satellite M40-185 - Bluetooth is not ready - can not use

    I have the Satellite M40-185

I cann't use bluetooth. The problem is:
At the opening of all programs--> Toshiba--> bluetooth--> bluetooth settings--> selection of menu bluetooth--> add new connection, a pop up appears with a msg "Bluetooth is not ready", then the bluetooth icon appears in the status bar.

BUT I still cann't use Bluetooth.

ALSO, when I open--> open device Bluetooth PCMCIA card Manager, a window appears with a button asking me to install a program.

What is it and where can I find it?
Do you think that this is the problem?

  • How to use bluetooth / infrared

    Hello
    I have a satellite M40-170
and I don't know how I can use bluetooth or infra - red
I want to connect my mobile phone with computer
but I don't know how I should do?

    can someone help me
    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, it depends on the device you want to connect to the laptop. I'm sure that each unit must have a manual of s with appropriate explanation. It is also important that software that you use and how it should be configured. Moreover, as I know M40 doesn't have the Bluetooth module. Do you use a USB Bluetooth stick or something like that?

If you want to use the infrared device must be activated in the IrDA device manager. Parameters and properties IrDA, you can find in the Panel under the wireless link. If the mobile device is on the right position, you will see that the laptop will be able to establish an infrared connection.

I found an interesting topic on using the LV. Check it on http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2135&messageID=5915#5915.

  • Different questions on Satellite M40-185RU

    Ah, Yes, g ' Day.

I started having quite some problems recently with my M40-185RU. Initially, it came with a Russian version of windows because it was bought to the Kazakhstan, but which was replaced when I bought it with a licensed English version and then resettled drivers. Now he worked happily for the past 18 months, but recently more and more functions have stopped working, I sort of blamed various updates from Microsoft. I thought I'd try and reinstall all the drivers in the recommended order, then updates and see if that fixes the problem, but it didn't.

I had problems are, except different drivers eager to download and install in Russia, because I'm in the Kazakhstan:
(1), the infrared port no longer works, but I found download quickfix for this - he has yet to set it. In addition, the driver downloaded only in Russian. (trying to download off UK site).
    (2) dial-up modem has just stopped working and I get an error code 633, although no settings have been changed for my modem. I tried to reinstall the updated modem software, but it still does not work.
    (3) battery Bluetooth drivers download only in Russian. (trying to download off UK site).
    (4) Soundmax drivers download only in Russian (trying to download off UK site).
    (5) wireless LAN drivers wanted only to download in Russian, so I don't mind updating them.
    (6) Nokia PC Suite does not connect with a USB bluetooth, infrared or even wired blimen. I reinstalled several times, restarted etc etc, but not joy.
    (7) CD/DVD-rom will be is no longer burn CD or even dvd in Nero, or even the simple "drag & drop" feature of Windows Explorer.

several other pilots also would only download as well in Russian, but as they were not so important I jumped them.

So I guess what I'm really after is if anyone has any ideas on how I can resolve my other notebook. While I wish that everything was fixed 1,2,6 & 7 are the most important for me.

    TIA everyone.

    Keiran

Well, I managed to get the modem working again but uninstall the modem, uninstalling the nokia PC suite software, reboot, then reinstall the modem software. Message Error 633 so luckily no more on this one.

  • Satellite M40: How to use IrDA?

I have a portable Satellite M40, I want to upload photos of my Panasonic GD87e using IrDA.
    Help, please

    Hello

Satellite M40 unfortunately has no IrDA. You can check the Device Manager list and you will see that IrDA is not there. This mobile phone is not known to me, but I'm sure you can use the data cable to the USB port for data transfer.

If your mobile phone has a Bluetooth connection, you can also buy BT USB stick for your laptop and use to transfer data also.

I do the same thing with my cell phone and it works perfectly.

    Good bye

  • Low beginning on Satellite M40-145 after changing the 160 GB HARD drive

    Hello

I own a Satellite M40-145 since 2005. After more than two years without any problem, two weeks ago the 80 GB hard drive to the original address has been damaged. So I had to replace it with a new, 160 GB (this replacement was made in a store because it's out of warranty).

I used successfully on the new HARD drive recovery CD to install Windows XP and all the drivers (just as when it was new).
I used Partition Magic to create a partition of D for data. Also, I installed Office 2003, Norton 360 and connected to the Internet.
It worked quickly with only small problems than perhaps with little patience I could fix: as this Bluetooth hardware is not detected and the wireless switch began with the lights off even being in the position we (it worked with new just switching out-lit again). But suddenly, after only one day of use, Windows starts became very slow. It takes about 4-5 minutes until it is possible to use the laptop.

Now, I tried many possibilities to solve the problem, but always ending on the same problem: I used the recovery CD again and try to use the computer with or without updates (I thought that maybe the problem was due to a bad update), with and without Internet access, etc.
I also tried in vain the program Microsoft Bootvis to try to speed up the startup, etc.

I even created an image with Acronis to only with XP and Office running fast, so that I could install it again and try new things.
I also tried to clean the registry with various programs like CCleaner, TuneUp 2008
Also the defrag JKDefrag and PageDefrag. But always returning to the same problem after a few days of good conduct.

I don't know what else I could do. I wonder if maybe the new HD is damaged (although I test and no error or no damage was detected) or if the update BIOS might resolve this problem (I'm not and that's a big risk).

    Please, could someone help me?
Thank you very much for your attention.
    Pablo

In my view, that there is nothing wrong with the software or all drivers on you laptop.
I think the key is the enormous size of the HARD drive.

The difference between 80 and 160 GB is huge.

To my knowledge, the BIOS supports a limit on the size of HARD drive and I really wonder why the 160 GB HARD drive has been recognized by the BIOS.

However, I think you should test a 100 GB, 120 GB HDD if the same question perhaps if poster using a HDD a size smaller.

    Best regards
