Satellite P100-347 does not start in Windows

My recently purchased P100-347 has recently developed a problem where it is unable to start windows, I get the Toshia welcome screen, then the initial xp load screen, but then everything stops and I'm left with a blank screen.

This happens not all the time, but it only successfully boots up to abut 1 to 10 tent, ideas or suggestions?

Well, your laptop has successfully passed the POST (power on self-test) and so I n t think there could be something wrong with the material as the motherboard.

Possibly the HARD drive contains certain corrupt sectors or there problems with the operating system.
In any case, I think the first attempt should be reinstalling new Windows OS.
I assume you have a Toshiba restore CD. You use this CD to install the OS.

After this procedure the laptop should start without any problems.
But if the problem persists you should contact the service partner because it s unusual laptop cannot start properly. In all cases, the warranty is valid and everything should be done for free.

Is that what I can do before purchasing a toshiba recovery media disk?

    Hi mate

Well, if you didn t create a recovery disk previously, you must purchase a new recovery disk.

If the Windows operating system starts not using safe mode or normal mode and if the HDD recovery procedure does not start then I n t see other options for you to try the recovery disk.

  • Satellite P100 PSPA3A does not start

My son P100 (model no PSPA3A - 17E00P) does not start when you press the START key. I tried to start with and without the battery, but all that happens is the operation turns upward (as do the lights of Harmon/Kardon speakers) for a second, but no fans, disks or such beginning at the same time. THE HARD drive light is not going on either.

    Clues?

This could be due to many things.

Try reinstalling the RAM or different combinations of RAM.
Then remove the battery and AC power for a few minutes and plug it back in that hide them.
If all else fails, it may be a faulty motherboard or video card or cpu.

You are able to access the advanced boot menu by pressing F8 while turning on the unit?

If you are able to do so, you should try to start the computer using one of the advanced options available in the start menu.

Finally (after data backup) I would recommend to recover the laptop using the Toshiba recovery media

  • Satellite L300-135 does not start in windows!

bought about 2 years ago everything has worked perfectly until today where it is still unable to boot into windows vista... I just turn it on when the windows loading bar loads then it shows a screen for 0.1 sec blue and it resets... even safe mode wouldn't start and restore mode (last known good config) couldn't help him start... I tried to use a live cd of ubuntu linux to back up my data but could not start either gave an error message stating something as abnormal.

    So where is the problem?

Windows Boot Manager tried to find the problem and tells me this:

    status: 0xc00000e9

Info: an unexpected i/o error has occurred.

    > so where's the problem?
Who knows? Do you think that it of so easy to tell what's exactly wrong without running all the tests?
Maybe it s just a software problem but a hardware problem (RAM, motherboard, etc.) can also be possible.

If I understand your message, you want to access the data and to safeguard the necessary files
Well, the recovery disk Toshiba would format the whole HARD disk, so you must back up the data before using the recovery disk.
You could remove the laptop HARD drive and it could connect to another computer using an external USB HDD enclosure.
After the backup, you can use the recovery disk to reinstall Windows.

  • Satellite P100-240 - does not start correctly

I write on behalf of a friend who has this problem, we don't have contact via mobile text :( I am not able to immediately provide all the answers that you are looking to solve this problem.

    Hello

    The laptop (P100-240) turns off while playing a game there since 2 days, then the following issues have been experianced;

Loading windows in normal mode in instant blue screen (unavilable specific info) results. Windows in normal mode has not been accessed since the beginning of this problem.
Loading windows in safe mode worked for a while, but internet allowed access in blue screen, for a period of time this problem solved itself, safe mode does more work to my knowledge.
The Visual display permanently distorted, similar to the effect matrix. I don't know if this effect is passive, or only during windows startup, details on what it looks like, or something very specific.
A blue screen mentioned the file nv4_mini.sys is a nvidia notebook driver file, as I know. An update of the healed nothing gfx driver.

The current situation is the total lack of access to the office, I think that it a blue screen after the Welcome screen. I don't know what the blue screen said atm, but disabling the BIOS memory options has been recommended by something... I don't know if the option is even available for system bios p100-240 s, Googling this problem came with references to disable video caching and shadowing of the options in the bios that the definition of options memory BIOS, and that these options do not always exist.

However, my diagnosis is that the video card is just fried:(qui serait un problème encore plus grave qu'un logiciel ou options problème dans la mesure où une solution rapide et simple.)

Solutions, tips or questions? I am struggling to find and give useful advice, and the situation in detail learning is also delicate.

A clean registry has been done so far, a virus scan has been made, a system restore has been done, did an update the video card driver and a bios update has been done. In this order, what relevance that has.

    Help? :\

I've seen similar problems on the internet, but once it was a virtually identical problem with the same model of laptop.

Safe mode now work again, registry cleaned again, updated drivers again, nothing. Better than it was originally when he worked, other than pink points travelling across the display screen:------.

  • Satellite C55 - Has - 1 L 0 does not start in Windows 8

    Hey guys.
I hope you can help me a bit.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite C55 - has - 1 L 0 here and it does not start in Windows 8.

I turn it on, the Toshiba start screen appears, and then I get a message on a black screen saying "media control" (failure) and after a little while "no boot device. Please restart.

I checked the BiOS and it does not see the hard drive (said HARD drive - no) and even in the boot order list, I don't get a list with the DVD drive with the exact name, but for the HARD drive.
I tried to do a recocery with the F12 key and get the list to choosw where I want to start but by selecting the disk hard does not work.

So I thought I'd try a live distribution of linux to see where is my hard drive and back up my data (after some settings in the BIOS - boot CMS mode) but I can't find there too. (I have a file fstab and mtab, it would help if I posted it here?)
Is my HARD drive broken? Can I try something else?

    Thank you very much!

You are right. This issue should be fixed by the authorized service provider.
Furthermore, why do some risk steps to check this problem, if the warranty is valid.
Warranty will cover the repair costs.

Addresses and phone numbers, you can find on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

    Good luck.

    3. check the HARD drive if it is damaged, but it is not.
4A tried to boot from the Windows XP cd and install it but it crashes
5A tried to boot from the cd with Linux, but it does not work.
    6. has created a Windows 98 flash drive to start, but it does not work.

    Is this possible?
    How?

    Thank you

It is for the Satellite A105 (PSAA2U) Bios Update, you can test the file at your own risk.

A text readme file is located in the folder, follow the instructions.
Download the Bios file from the link and copy it to a USB key, go into you Bios and this flash file.

  • Satellite A200 - support Button does not start when windows starts

    Hey,.

Today, I decided to disable unnecessary programs as many as I could (to speed up my pc), so I went to Msconfig (I have vista home premium 32-bit) and a lot of things off. Including the "toshiba button support. The next time I restarted my additional buttons on the top of the keyboard all worked, next to one. Who normally turn on windows media player. This time, he did nothing at all. Game/resume, stop, forward, back and button internet all worked without problem.
However, I really liked the WMP button, so I tried to find out what the problem was. I discovered that it was the support of the key, so I decided to reactivate it.

However, this didn't not help: (.) I turned it in msconfig, but it does not start with windows more: (.) I know this is the program that I need, because when I run the program manually (this is the program: programfiles/toshiba/TBS/HSON.exe) the button works.
I put a V in front of the msconfig program, but it does not work. Anyone has an idea why not?

Edit: I found a solution, even if not the best. If anyone still has the same problem:
I made a shortcut for the program to run (can be found in C:programfiles/toshiba/SCT and is called HSON.exe). Then I clicked start and said 'all programs', here I chose the "opstarten" folder, it comes to the Dutch version, but my guess is it's called something like 'start-up' in English. In this regard, I glued (copy / cut-> paste) the shortcut to the program, and now he begins again :)
