Satellite P305D-S8900 - LAN cable is a schooner of connection

Hello

I can connect my LAN cable to my computer and the computer will detect and indicate that it is there.

The problem is that none of the software on the computer seems to see that there is a link. Internet connection screen says that the LAN cable is a schooner of connection. I tried everthing I know so he can work with no sucsess.

PS. I use Vista and I know little about it Vista.

Hello

First check to see if the network card is recognized and if the LAN driver has been installed correctly.

It is the as-installed LAN card properly then you should check the settings of the network adapter's TCP/IP protocol.

The properties of TCP/IP all the settings such as IP address, gateway, DNS must be set to automatically get

Also please check if a firewall, antivirus, etc apps don't lock access to the local network.

OK, I hope someone out there can help becouse thit fist.

I'm about to return this laptop for Toshiba and go through another manufacturer for laptop that can be downgraded to WIN XP pro.

I tried for a week to find a driver to work on this laptop to nothing does not.
Corsica Toshiba says that 'the COMPUTER is DESIGNED for WINDOWS VISTA"as it means something and then they tell me to unscrew...

So what I have is a Satellite P305D-S8900 and I need the audio driver for Win XP.

Now, as far as I can tell, it's a driver audio conecant but I can't find one that work of wil.

    Any help; is greatley apericeated.

    Hey Buddy

First of all, you can install all possible OS on your P305.
It true s that the P305 has been pre-installed with the Vista operating system, but of course, you will be able to use other OS like Win XP

Why you n t check the European driver Toshiba page and choose the show Satellite P300. It of similar to the Satellite P305 (U.S. series) and you'll find the Conexant audio driver!

As far as I know at this time the 3.47.1.50 versions seems to be a more recent.

  • Satellite A20-S103: LAN cable disconnected

    Hello

I can not access my LAN or internet.
    I use a Satellite A20-S103 with a Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

When I connect the Lan cable to the LAN port, the message "LAN Cable" disconnected.
The same message is displayed using connectivity doctor ConfigFree.

I have changed several cables, used cables that worked on other computers and the message still there and no access to the router/modem.

Near the LAN port LEDs are not lightning (or orange or green, no)

I already read messages here in the forum (and other forums) and I can't get the ethernet card works.

Do you think the problem is with the card or the operating system.

    Can you help me?
    Sorry for my English

First, check to see if the network card has been recognized in the Device Manager.
Under network adapters, you should see the LAN card.

If there is a yellow exclamation point near network card then the driver has not been installed correctly or there is another serious error.

In the first case I recommend the withdrawal of the LAN card from the Device Manager and after new reboot, you should try to reinstall the driver downloaded from the Toshiba page!

In addition, you must set TCP/IP parameters automatically because the router assigns the IP address automatically.

Please check and report the results

    Good luck

  • Satellite P305D-S8900: CPU, RAM CIR upgrade question

    Hello

I have a few questions about the upgrade of my laptop.

    (1) can I upgrade the CPU, and if so what other CPU is availible.

    (2) can I put the memmory.

    (3) is it possible to install the CIR in this computer.

    Hello

First of all why do you want to upgrade the processor?
The P300 series is new and is supported by a powerful CPU. You won't see any performance gain after upgrading the CPU.

    > 1) can I upgrade the processor, and if so what other CPU is availible. (1) can I upgrade the CPU, and if so what other CPU is availible.
To do this, see this article from Toshiba
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

    (> 2) can I put the memmory.
This should be possible. In most cases, you can find the info in the user manual.
I think that 4 GB should be possible

(> 3) is possible to install the CIR in this computer.
Using the infrared interface? In this case, I recommend stick USB Irda.
It is easy to use and install.

  • Satellite U - LAN cable does not work after bios update

    Hello

I recently installed upgrading the Bios that was detected automatically, and it seems to work fine. However, my LAN cable no longer works to connect to the internet. When I try to diagnose the problem, I tells me that I need to make sure that the cable is connected, but I can assure you that the cable is well connected.

The cable worked fine just before the update to the Bios and I know it is not a problem with the connection of the cable itself because my other laptop always connects very well with it.

    Please can you help.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Satellite Pro U300: Error Message: cable is disconnected, but Lan cable is connected

    Hello

I have problem with interface ethernet (wired) in my Satellite Pro U300. I use in many places (home, office, customers) and when I restore in sleep or hibernation mode interface ethernet shows that the * cable is disconnected *, despite the connection of the cable * is * connected and works perfectly with all other devices, laptops and PC.

The switch also shows that the there no signal link. But re - activate the malfunctioning ethernet port, just disable the ethernet interface and then after 5s (1 s is too short!) turn on.

Then a baloon in taskbar window indicates that there are 10 Mbit/s link, but actually, the link works at 100 Mbps (I can see it in the connection status window and the ethernet LEDs switch). This is the only laptop that has this kind of problems.

I have the latest version of the installed ethernet 5.664.205.2007 driver on Win XP SP2.

Is it possible I'm getting rid of turn on interface ethernet several times per day (except change laptop)?

    Hello

I put t have a real solution but I have a few proposals of solution

First of all, you should check in Device Manager if the network card has been properly recognized. The Ethernet card should be listed under network without any yellow exclamation point cards.

If the network adapter has been properly recognized, then the next step should be checking the properties of the LAN connection.
There, you should check the properties of the TCP/IP protocol.
The settings such as IP address automatically get & address of DNS server automatically get must be marked.

    Hello

I put t know which lamps do you mean because I don t find any LAN LEDs on this laptop. In case you I would recommend checking the status of LAN card in Device Manager. Check if this card has been properly recognized and if there is no yellow exclamation point.

In addition, I put t know what you expect. If you connect the LAN cable to the laptop from the LAN icon in the taskbar should usually shows the connected state of LAN cable (NO red x). If you do not see this icon please activate this option in the properties of LAN.

  • TC 1302 via a LAN cable?

Hi, I have a new MacBook and replaced so access to my TC.

The TC is installed within a university network via cable, and I still have the problem to get connected to the internet.

I installed WLAN and it shows my network.

However, I want to make my backup, which is not possible via WIFI, such as the TC is not properly installed in the internet.

So I run the backup vial Ethernet/LAN cable.

But I still have the problem:

    • where to plug the MacBook (I have a USB-Ethernet adapter for the retina of 13 MB) in the TC? The man or the host 3 ethernet Ethernet plug?
    • How can I tell my MB and the TC that the GET connected? (as I can't see the TC on my MB as device)

    • and: does anyone have a tip for the installation of a TC in a protected University LAN/WLAN? who are the preferred settings? (I spoil in a point and I'm not fixed)

    Best regards, Steffen

The TC is installed within a university network via cable, and I still have the problem to get connected to the internet.

Most likely, your University has an Internet router at the other end of this cable. That would mean, you need to configure your TC properly in order to access the Internet. The best course of action is to speak with your University of departmental it to get this set up.

However, I want to make my backup, which is not possible via WIFI, such as the TC is not properly installed in the internet.

The TC has NO need to have an Internet connection to use Time Machine for backups. Your Mac has just need to be on the same wireless network that provides the TC.

    • where to plug the MacBook (I have a USB-Ethernet adapter for the retina of 13 MB) in the TC? The man or the host 3 ethernet Ethernet plug?

It must be plugged into one of the three ports LAN (opposing arrows).

    • How can I tell my MB and the TC that the GET connected? (as I can't see the TC on my MB as device)

In its default configuration, the TC will broadcast a Wi - Fi network that is not secure, with a network name of something like: Apple network NNNNNN. You just need to connect your MB to this network.

    • the reform through to get a proper backup?

Sorry, but I do not understand your question.

    • and: does anyone have a tip for the installation of a TC in a protected University LAN/WLAN? who are the preferred settings? (I spoil in a point and I'm not fixed)

Yes, talk with your University computer support staff.

  • No sound Satellite P305D under Win XP

    I have a P305D S8900 initially provided with W Vista.
To work, I needed to be able to have Windows XP Home edition to launch my programs.
Now that I've upgraded to XP I have no other than a beep sound strong.

I'm not IT 'tilted' any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

    The Win XP requires SP3!
SP3 contains significant updates that are necessary to get his job.
Then first install SP3, then the audio driver.

If the driver is already installed, you need to delete/uninstall it in Device Manager!
After the new reboot, install the SP3 and then sound driver.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite P305D-S8828 - fan runs most of the time

On my new Satellite P305D - S8828 17 "fan seems to work most of the time, fled to 01:45 for: dry then on new 50." I have the schema defined on "balanced" & the unit is based on a cooler aluminium frame (no fans on radiator).

Basically, ventilation under the unit must be very very good compared to flat on a desk. Room temperature. is about 78 F. The unit is basically idling & the fan runs at low speed most of the time. Sometimes it ramps at high speed for about 30 seconds. I can go to Circuit City and check another, but anyone know if this is normal behavior?

I tried a non-Toshiba notebook & I do not remember the fan being audible to all! This laptop was horrible buttons on the touchpad well, so I prefer this Toshiba.

I think that the fan runs up constantly when a movie is playing. I heard a change in BIOS to set the fan turns too, but do not know what is available on this platform. Any help is appreciated, because I can still return unit for something else.

BTW, Wireless G is on, but no traffic running on AC & battery not charging. The fan is sometimes we'RE for: 30 & off at 01:00.
    Thank you

  • Satellite A110-195 lan crashes

    Hello

My satellite a110-195 crashes when I send files to another computer on the local network. There is nothing wrowng with another computer on the local network
because I have also tested it with an a100-906 and works very well.
I have hard drive formatted and reinstalled windows xp but the problem is still there.

I use the latest version of the bios. Is a very strange problem.
LAN works fine with my internet connection and the system crashes only when I transfer large files.
    About 800 MB of files.

    I think it's a software oriented.
    Looking forward to a response.

Edit: a little more information. Laptop goes down ONLY when I send files and ONLY when I use the battery. I ordered a USB to lan card, to see what is happening. But it's a shame a laptop from a week to have such problems.
    Thank you

    Hello

This will only occur if the laptop is running with the power of the battery?
HA I think I have an idea and a solution! ;)

To me, it seems that the computer is on the LAN card feature to save power!

You should just go to the Device Manager and select the properties of LAN card under network adapters!
Here, you select the last tab called power management. Please disable the option called allow the computer to turn off this device to save power!

Additional on the Advanced tab (I think that it s a second tab) you can activate the optimal performance of the option and disable the link down to save energy.

    Hope this helps dude :)
