Satellite Pro A200 - display very dark

My first post on this forum-

I have a satellite a200 pro with a very dark screen, it works fine with an external monitor.

I replaced the drive and the full screen with elements well known with no joy

am I missing something simple? any thoughts welcome

> I have replaced the drive and the full screen with elements well known with no joy
That s very strange and to be honest I can't say with certainty why these spare parts not help you solve this problem. Is the external monitor looks OK and the chip chart isn t the troublemaker. So the problem must be linked to the internal screen or FL inverter.

I recommend you contact the service provider authorized Toshiba to get more details about these issues and get compatible parts.

Hello, I m about to buy the Satellite Pro A200-SS, but I m interested in what I should expect from its display. Is this enough to play games? What is an answer of this LCD? I also heard that the various types of LCD screens are assembled in this book, is it true?

If so, please, try to name and describe them - the most important attribute for me is a response and usability for playing games.

Well, I hope that someone will answer my questions. At latest.

  • Matte screen disappeared on Satellite Pro A200

I have a Satellite Pro A200 which works fine on an external monitor, but is very dull on the laptop monitor.
Anyone knows if it's backlit and if the lights are replaceable, or do I need a new screen?

FN + F5/F6 does nothing. Correct brightness with the software works on the external monitor, but not on the laptop.

    Thank you

    > Is - anyone knows if it's backlit and if the lights are replaceable, or do I need a new screen?

It could be a FL. inverter problem In the worst cases the problem internal display, but at this point, I suppose that it s inverter malfunction only an FL.

Recommend trying to replace the FL inverter first, since this part is much less expensive than a screen.

  • Satellite Pro A200 - shows only 3 GB instead of 4 GB of RAM

    Hello

2 years ago I had a Satellite Pro A200 as a professional laptop and it works with XP SP2, later with SP3. With 2 GB, it shows 2 GB memory in Windows - and I know it's a Radeon 7500 with 256 MB memory graphics individual, and there is no shared memory.

I upgraded to 4 GB, but Windows shows exactly 3 GB. BIOS shows 4 GB and ATI system monitor shows 4 GB. I know that 4 GB is not possible under XP 32-bit, only on Windows 2003 R2 32 bit or Vista - but on desktop systems, I've seen values between 3.3 and 3.7 GB.

So, where's the memory? It looks like a bug - the chips of memory have two 2 GB I checked this. Because it's a company laptop I can not just switch to 64-bit XP :-(

There's no option in the BIOS - first I thought that it is the graphics card, but mine has independent graphics with own memory so that the computer comes up with MB 2048 or 4096 after the upgrade.

Shared memory would show about 1900 MB of RAM for the operating system as my private EEEpc.

    Hi shadowmaster_1,

    > I know that 4 GB is not possible under XP 32 bit
Then why do you ask this question here if you already know? Moreover, it s not a limitation in XP, it s a material limitation on all 32-bit systems

    > only on Windows 2003 R2 32 bit or Vista
And who says that Windows 2003 or Vista can use 4 GB? Okay, there's an update for Vista where 4 GB correct displayed in system properties, but that doesn't make no difference. Vista 32 bit peut t use all of 4GB, it s only cosmetic improvements! ;)

    > So where is memory?
Memory is installed on your computer, but can t be used complelty with a 32 bit OS.

At the end of the story: If you want to use 4 GB, you need to install a 64 bit OS. On all the 32 bit OS, you can use only upward to ~3.2GB RAM!

  • How to restore settings orginal Satellite Pro A200?

    Hiya people

I'm new to this thing, but if anyone can help me with my problem, I would be very grateful.
I have a satellite pro A200 which is about 2.5 years and is now running really slow and I was just wondering if it can be restored to its original default? But isn't any recovery disk that I saw on the web that if you hold the zero button while turning on the computer you get the recovery of HARD drive, but for some reason page any, that this does not happen, I also tried several thing but no seams to work.

If anyone out there can help me I would be very grateful

    Thank you

What you have found on the web is not relevant for all models of Toshiba laptops.
I can't say with certainty, but most A200 notebook recovery DVDs has been in the area.

Anyway, first tell us the exact laptop model name and model number.

  • Satellite Pro A200 does not recognize the hard drive, XP Pro

When I try and load XP Pro SP3 (32 bit) it will not install because it doesn't have SATA drivers. I downloaded the drivers and have an external floppy drive to install drivers by pressing F6. • Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E - computer laptop shuts down randomly

I've had my Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E for about a year and a half now. He ran very well most of the time, but in recent months he has been stop itself randomly. There is no warning or "Windows is shutting down" he just me using my computer to a blank screen.

After frustrated with her, I did a full format my HARD drive and started from scratch. This does not solve the problem, and since then, the taskbar freezes. When I click on it I get the error and the hourglass cursor message "Windows Explorer is not responding... "I then have to click"restart", which makes the taskbar disappear for a few seconds before returning (usually without my sound icon).

The laptop turns off when it is connected to the electric network with & without the battery and when running only on battery, so I excluded all power problem.

I have considered it heats up too, but I use a block of cooling with built-in fans and has not himself in a few minutes after being hit not 24 hours, so I'm not sure that's the problem.

    Someone at - it ideas?

I am running WIndows Vista Home Premium 32-bit if that's any help.

    Thank you.

    > It worked fine most of the time, but in recent months he has been stop itself randomly.
    > There is no warning or "Windows is shutting down" he just me using my computer to a blank screen.

I think that the problem of overheating.
The fact is that the laptop would be down automatically stops in order to avoid that the pieces of equipment against damage.
In most cases this problem can be solved very easily. Using a jet of compressed air, you can remove the dust from the cooling modules and fans.
I clean my fans from time to time, because I noticed a higher temperature and the laptop was a little stronger.

    Check it out mate

  • XP installation LAUGH on 32 Satellite Pro A200 laptop via computer

    Hello

Can anyone help? I try to install 32 laptops (Satellite Pro A200) through Services of Installation Windows 2003 Server remotely. I had problems with network cards and now have these working by adding pilots in a $OEM$, $1, drivers, network card and record the thought that it might be easy to use the same solution to install the drivers for the SATA controller. How wrong could I be! I'm now pulling my hair out. The machines have the drivers installed in the same way ($ $OEM$ etc.) in a directory marked sata. I used the drivers from the Intel - extracts on floppy disk and copied from there site. Whenever I try to recreate the image, I get the same error "Windows does not detect hard drives" and it drives me crazy! I edited risstnrd.sif, textsetup.oem etc etc nothing works.

I found a link on the German Toshiba site to download the drivers in this situation, but the link is quite slow, I tried to download these drivers now three different places (3 different accounts of ADSL) and each begins at about 36 k per second then decreases until bytes per second and then fails. (It's only a 21 MB file!)

If someone managed to deploy these laptops via RIS? If so can you please let me know how you got it done and what drivers you used?

    Thank you very much

    Hello Mark

I think LAUGH installation complicated theme and I'm really skeptical anyone will be able to help you. If you have time, try using the advanced search and check the RIS results as search terms.

Otherwise, you can create your own recovery DVDs and use it for the installation of the OS. For the recovery procedure, you need 20 minutes.

  • Satellite Pro A200 - SD card works only on Windows 7

    Hello

I tried to install Windows 7 rtm downloaded from the MSDN site. Once I installed it, my Satellite Pro A200 works fine, but the built in SD card reader does not work, that nothing happens when I insert an SD card, it is not recognized.
Can anyone of you help me?

    Thank you very much.

    Francesco.

    Excuse for my English.

    Hello

Have you installed a driver for the SD card?
OK you will not find a Windows 7 driver yet, but most of the Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7.

Normally you need a driver for the SD card, so you may notice yellow exclamation in Device Manager?

What types of SD cards are you trying? In the user manual, you can find a list of supported SD cards.

  • Windows 7 & Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE7)

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE7). I recently upgraded my laptop to
Windows 7. Where can I download the drivers compatible with Windows 7?
I already have the Web site check toshiba and I do not find anything.

    Thanks in advance

    I agree with sascha.
I think that Win 7 drivers must be released in the near future, because Windows 7 drivers have been published for other series
You can also visit the Toshiba page we obtain some drivers Win 7 for Sat A205 series.
The A205 is very similar to A200.

When I press on "on" button the second led turns blue, the fan runs for a while, but there is not activity: nothing on the screen.

Can U help me telling me that maybe the defective chip?
    Thank you very much

  • Satellite Pro A200 - new RAM work together

    Laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro A200-PSAF1A-003002, I bought the year last with RAM 2x512MB that I try to update my 3 GB RAM and I bought 2 RAM KTT667D2 / 1 G & KTT667D2 / 2G Kingston memory.

I added that the 2 strips of RAM in the laptop, but it does not start. The power and the drive lights and flash for 3 times everything off. No boot. But I remove one of the sticks of RAM and it starts very well and the RAM has been upgraded in the system.

I tried with the sticks and the two slots to remove 'bad slot' ideas and a stick of RAM works in a thin slot. Paste works in slot 1 or slot 2 and stick b works in slot 1 or 2, but not both at the same time. Is it simply a setting I'm missing somewhere? I checked the BIOS version is 1.7, I need to update my BIOS? Help, please

    Thank you
    Yana

I think that the modules are not compatible together and that is the reason why each module works in each slot.

Did you buy KTT667D2/1 and KTT667D2 / 2G. Different modules of s and are not working together.
You should buy only the modules with the same specifications and capacity (for example, 2x1GB and 2x2gb).

  • Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE4E) failure hard disk

    Hello

My computer is Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE4E) purchased Oct 2007, running Vista 32 bit. He was always a bit skittish and prone to crashing. The first time I ever did a Windows Update it projected blue, so I restored and never updated since.

The other day it started to emit beeps during startup, and while I could then get into, I think that the hard drive has failed, because now it runs very slow and crashes.

Think the forum that this laptop could never be made to be stable and reliable?

The hard drive is hard to change? I do it myself.

There the drive hard replacement somewhere online instructions?

Should what model of hard drive I install?

    Thank you

    RAID

    Hello

Replacing the HARD drive is not difficult.
HARD drive Bay must be placed at the bottom of the unit.
You should see the drive Bay HARD fixed with a screw cover.
Remove the screws and you will see the HARD drive

To remove the HARD drive, remove the connectors

But note; Be always careful and don't use force!
