Hello

If a compatible SATA mode then your HARD drive will always slow down the performance of the laptop!

You need the right SATA drivers. You can find the right SATA files in the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, which can be downloaded from the Intel page.
Notes; There are different packages that supports different chipsets.

After the right SATA driver was selected, you can use the freeware software called nLite to build a new XP CD and include SATA files.

I only bought it last Friday, and I have not used a lot, but probably a bit disappointing so far.
Any ideas why the cursor freezes on google or on the toolbar internet explorer?

FYI, I use Vista Business OS and Internet explore

    > 1) card, it looks like a decent laptop, but with the start time of 3 minutes, 'please wait' is surely not impress me considering the fact that I have nothing installed yet...

I'll tell you how to reduce the startup time of your laptop.
I think you are using Vista and the Tempro should be installed too
You have two options: either you would update the Tempro or remove the system. Both should help make the Mobile QuickStart.

You should update right Vista in the current state, and should also check if certain unnecessary processes running in the background.
You can do this by using the msconfig.

In addition, you should check if your antivirus software does not slow down the system.

Just a tip; I m using the free software Antivir. It of free and it s really nice, it doesn't have a lot of material resources.

  • Why Satellite Pro A300 does not start when you press the power button?

Suddenly my new Satellite Pro A300 does not start correctly when you press the power button. The situation is the following: when I press the power button is displayed the opening of Toshiba (Leading Innovation) and the disappers image quickly. Then there is a black screen for about 30 seconds. There is a rectangular frame with the text Microsoft Corporation under. And nothing happens however long wait.

In order to get with the trial starting I then shut down the computer by pressing the power button until the computer turns off. ("The hard way to close")
Now, I press the power button shortly to turn on the computer. Then, the computer starts normally with the photo to open Toshiba and after a few seconds, I wonder to open the computer in safe mode or in normal mode. I now choose to open in normal mode and the computer opens normally and is ready to work.

What should I do to get a normal departure procedure?

When the laptop starts normally (after choosing normal mode) stop your laptop properly using START > shut down option. Next launch should be normal.

When the OS is moving towards the low irregularly will always ask you how to start this new (secure or normal mode).
The same thing happen on my Satellite A300.

  • Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE re-start when it is plugged

I've had this laptop stored for awhile that I couldn't work through this problem, but I'll have another chance.

The laptop is a Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE.
The problem I am haiving, is that the laptop might restart whenever I connect the PSU, but not when you use a live CD (Ubuntu).

Let me try to Flash a BIOS replacement to see if this will fix the problem.
Unfortunately, the necessary software to Flash the BIOS requires the laptop to be plugged.

Is there a way around this problem?
Can I trick the software into thinking it is plugged?
Is there a way I can return/repair of the BIOS in a different way because obviously the problem has always been there.

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry mate but I'm afraid I n t m know exactly what the problem is
You said that you can not boot from a Linux Live CD, but you can install a Windows system on this laptop?

Why do you think the BIOS is the problem?
Even if the BIOS is not updated, the laptop should power on correctly and should boot

Can you explain the problem exactly?

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - recovery disk will reinstall Windows OS on the new HARD drive

Hard drive of my Satellite Pro A300 failed. It has now been replaced. I ordered a recovery disk.
This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?

Also, I get this message "BOOTMGR MISSING". The recovery disc will fix this problem too?
    Thanks in advance!

    > I ordered a recovery disk. This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?
    Yes. Without a doubt.

New HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?
    If so avoid any problem.

Moreover, A300 works perfectly and much better with Win7 32 bit.

  • Satellite Pro A300-1E7 - cannot start the cam software

I bought the Satellite Pro A300-1E7.
Webcam does not work in MSN messenger video call.
Will have problems similar to the previous posting, except that I use Zonealarm.

I think that Zonealarm has disputed cec_main.exe in a similar way.
I tried to follow the instructions here, but without much success.
I removed the Camera Assistant SOftware and re-installed the driver but does not seem to have improved things.
Now c:\program files\ software of camera for Toshiba assistant has completely disappeared and the Panel camera assistant no longer appears on the side of the desktop.

    Any ideas please?

    Hello

I used the Zonealarm happened and I was not really satisfied, because this software locked everything and most of the applications didn't work properly even after the new configuration! Finally, I removed this software and I noticed more advantage. my laptop starts much faster!
I think this software would lock the cam software too.

    > Now c:\program files\ software of camera for Toshiba assistant has completely disappeared and the Panel camera assistant no longer appears on the side of the desktop.
This means that the software has been removed and is not installed correctly.
But to be sure, check in Control Panel-> Software (Add & Remove Programs) if the webcam is installed.

I have the internal cam of Chicony too and it s works well as part of the software Skype. I didn't test t MSN but I don t see serious reasons why it shouldn't t work.

In my view, you must first remove the zonealarm. Then clean the OS using CCleaner. Finally, redownload the webcam software and reinstall it!

The toolbar of the webcam is not always visible on the desktop.
It seems that if you move it the mouse cursor to the place where the webcam tool bar was hidden.

  • Satellite Pro A300-1E7 - slow startup

    Hello

It takes more than 5 minutes for my PC to boot from by pressing the button to get the Vista desktop (Business) to appear. Can anyone suggest something to improve this unusually long boot?

Given the specification of the system, this seems a little crazy, especially when I started at the side of every portable specified and they take less than 2 minutes.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!

You have a lot of file and msconfig startup programs? This can cause a slow start at the top. Check it!

More I read it in the forum, sometimes useful for uninstall TEMPRO s. trying to remove it and test it.

Also what operating system are you using?

  • Satellite Pro A300 (PSAG9E) - after updating BIOS Windows will not start

Restart went well after update BIOS and Windows XP logo appears loads for a few seconds then a beep and restart - last good known or start Windows normally same effect.
Reboot back to start - this is a new laptop - using the BIOS of Toshiba s official download site.

Quite annoyed to try to find a way to upgrade or downgrade the BIOS.
Took battery and RAM to see if I can delete it?

    Any ideas anyone?

I think you mean BIOS * update * and do not upgrade ;)
    An upgrade is not possible

However, you can try to remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour. After that, reconnect the battery and the AC adapter and try to start Windows.
Moreover I would load the default settings in the BIOS before starting Windows.

If it doesn't work, it seems that your ROM module needs to be reflashed. In this case an ASP can help you.

  • Satellite Pro A660 - do not start in Windows

    My problem is the following:

I turn on the laptop. The light on the button, and that's all that happens. The screen does not come to life. It stays black.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

This happened 7 weeks ago. I took it to a toshiba service centre and they replaced the motherboard. It took 5 weeks to return the system to me, but the problem resurfaced. I can't yet recover the system with the key and the 0 button simultaneously.

    Any ideas?

    Hi bobneil,

And what happens if you connect an external monitor? You see an image on the external monitor or is he too black?
Have you connected external devices such as keyboard, mouse, etc. ? If so remove all of them and make sure that the battery is fully charged before you try to start your laptop.

If you are able to boot up your laptop, again I would try a BIOS update from the official website of Toshiba.
But before do you a BIOS update to close all running programs (Antivirus, firewall, etc.) and make sure that you are logged on as administrator. Also to decompress all the files in archive zip first before doing the update.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - I get the 'Windows search' if I left click on any folder

I just bought a Satellite Pro A300 and it downgraded to Windows XP SP3.

When I click the icon of any folder on my hard drive I got the "Windows Search" window instead of the folder. When I right click on any folder icon, the first item on the menu (in bold) is "search".

How can I change the order of these items in menu so as 'Open' is the first element?

Delete (Control Panel Add / Remove Programs) the installation of Windows Search without affecting any software I have loaded?

Looking for Windows installation installed the likely cause of my problem?

    Thank you

    Murray

    Just solved my problem:

    1. the order of the items in the context menu of files can be changed by updating actions for file types specified in the Folder Options Menu. Select Folder Options + of + the + Tools + menu of any folder, select + File Types + and scroll to the bottom for * file *. Click on * advanced * then * New * and add * open * with * Explorer * as the program to use. Click on * OK * and * Close * and bingo! Appears in the order of the menu shortcut in XP is open before you search, but in XP Pro followed research of Open / Explore.

    2. the utility Windows search can be deleted without problem despite the warning launched - Microsoft Web site indicates the warning is simply a generic warning and it is highly unlikely that removal will affect all software installed since the loading search utility.

    3. the Windows Search utility is NOT the cause of this problem.

Trust that the other could save hours of research that I had to do to find this solution...

  • Satellite Pro A300 PSAG9E - Win 8 upgrade questions

I decided to update my old Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 PSAG9E-00700TTE Vista to Windows 8.

After two tries he has been successful. Vista made me mad, and when I decided to give my son, I wanted to work better.

Toshiba doesn't seem to be willing to support the old models. (over 3 years).

I can not even find this model code in the lists, the site does not seem to recognize the serial number.

This is why all the Windows 8 upgrade tools provided are not relevant.

I met a few minor problems before, but the Toshiba Turkey never replied messages, even those concerning the new products when I considered buying a new laptop. In the end I went for an Asus, which exceeds my expectations.

I don't expect all support this time either, because of past experience. But I still want to try one last time.

Is there a way to get the material in this workbook in Windows 8?

    > Is there a way to get the material in this workbook in Windows 8?

Satellite Pro A300 is not that win 8 supported means that you will not find to win 8 drivers for this series, but of course, you can use Win 8 on this unit.

In some cases, the municipality of Win 7 drivers would be compatible.

Toshiba tools like VAP (value added package) to win 8 can also be used, but we must look for a Win 8 VAP released for other more recent models.

Touchpad driver can be downloaded from the page of the Synaptics driver also other drivers like LAN or WLan can be found on chip manufacturer pages.

I've had obviously my machine for a few years now and have never had any problems with it even though I used to always use an ethernet connection. Lately, but I moved to wireless broadband.

    2. Select the arrow to the left using the "Advanced".
3 press down until you get to "SATA Controller Mode".
4 change, using F7/F8, Chang [AHCI] setting [compatibility].
    5. make sure the CD/DVD drive is the first to start and F10 save and exit. computer restart when you are prompted to "press any key" press a button and hey presto as before windows will start the installation, but this time you won't get windows you said:

Set up did not find Ant hard disks installed on your computer.

Make sure any drive HARD are powered on and properly connected to your computer and any hard disk related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or Setup program.
