Satellite Pro U - locked by PASSWORD 3000 files

I upgraded from VISTA to Windows 7 recently, and since then I can not open any file locked by PASSWORD 3000.

Any suggestions?

Hi antonbas,

To be honest, I never heard PASSWORD 3000.
What software is this? Have you installed it? If Yes, you must contact the manufacturing of this software to help. Here he s only to Toshiba user forum.

In addition, if I get PASSWORD 3000 it brings certain results concerning viruses did you check that?

    Hello

Like the first, you must start the machine in safe mode and try to delete this file.

While searching for another question, I stumbled on INUSE. EXE which is a utility designed to replace files that are "locked in use". Check it please this two links:

  • When I do analysis antivirus it says that I locked and password protected files.

What are and can a virus infect files and infect my computer with the locked files / password protected?

BTW. I use AVG Internet Security 2012 and Advanced System Care Pro 5.

    Hello

It shows locked all files that you have created?

What are the names of files that show as locked or password protected?

It could be files that are sent to you by someone else and they have the file password protected.

It could also be system files that should not be scanned by the antivirus.

  • Satellite Pro L10: Question about saving the files on a CD

Please can someone tell me how I can save a typed document (produced in Word or similar) on the CD? I don't have a floppy drive on my satellite pro L10 portable. Have 'saved' music using the immediate recording before, but now need to record your actual work on the hard disk for transport to a pc with access to a printer.

When I tried it told me incorrect function, contact administrator (that's me!) I tried CD - R and CD - RW discs and neither would not let me save the file on it. would be grateful for any advice regarding this.

    Thank you

    Hi Roy,

First of all, you will ned to ensure that you have enabled logging on oprical drive you. For this a right-click on the CD-ROM in my computer icon and then selecting "properties-> recording. Make sure that "Enable CD writing on this drive" is checked.

Once you have done the above, you can simply drag the documents that you want to copy on the CD-ROM icon in my computer.

Note that the burning process does not happen immediately. Windows caches the files to be placed on your hard drive first and then you can burn all documents cached only once.

Alternatively, you may find that some third-party software has been bundled with your portable computer, which performs a similar function the standard Windows CD burn software.

  • On Satellite Pro 6100 HARD drive password

    Hello

I have an almost dead Satellite Pro 6100, I was almost back on its feet, but we wonder a HHD password on start up. Apparently, one of the portable computers security features is "Password HARD drive on request".

There were ideas! Cannot ask the laptop I can't!

When the HARD drive password is set, and you start the laptop you must enter this password. Otherwise the drive will not spin.
The functionality of the HARD drive password is to secure the data on the disc. If you do not have the password: no chance to use the HARD drive.
So if you can't enter or ask for the password you must swap the HARD drive.

Buy the way it is always strange if someone "owns" a laptop and one does not know the passwords! If you bought the computer laptop may it is stolen...

  • Satellite Pro A300 - 1 GR - R08985EF.tag file in the partition of E:\

    Hello!

I have Tosshiba Satellite Pro A300 - GR 1 and recently noticed a file named R08985EF.tag in E:\.
The content of the file is "R08985EF" and he dated 12.7.2008 - the same date as the HDD Recovery folder and all its contents and has very similar modified-time.

The file is not read-only and has no protection.
What is it and can I remove it without negative consequences?

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated!

I do not recommend to delete this file because this file could belong to the HDD recovery procedure and if you remove then you'd be unable to UN the HDD recovery procedure

  • Satellite Pro M10 Hibernate - error message "the file is not found.

I have the Satellite Pro M10. I have problem in the power of Eve v6.00.04. When I want to activate the Hibernate mode it give a massage: * the file is not found. Please confirm the name of the specified file *.

I can't use the hibernation mode. I tried to uninstall the Toshiba power saver and install again but the massage even come. If anyone has experienced the same problem and have a solution? Please advice

When you active hibernating the operating system creates a file named hiberfil.sys in the root of your system drive.
Of course, this file is missing in your installation.
You can activate and disable hibernation in the system control-> power options.
Disable hibernation, restart and enable again. Is there an error message? Maybe your C drive has insufficient free space?
The size of the hibernation file is different from your main memory size.

  • Satellite Pro A100 request BIOS password which was never put

    Hiya

Have had my Satellite Pro A100 for almost 2 years and that all this time have never even heard of a password system, but all of a sudden, I turned on the laptop this morning and it does not load. I tried pressing F12 (can't remember why, it seemed the thing to do to read the instructions at the bottom of the screen), but nothing happened so I just turned off the power. Put on again, he asked the system password. (A black screen with a blue box, with the old text base BACK type fonts).

I have no idea what it could be, I tried the word system and tried just pressing on enter without text in there but it says incorrect password. I removed the battery and left 10 hours but put it back in the machine there is no difference, it will not always go through this screen.

I am the only user on this machine, have no idea what caused it. I am aware of security, have installed on complete McAfee AV and did not have anything odd happen at all. Didn't last changes made to the configuration, no new software etc. so I have no idea what prompted it.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks in advance
    Rachel

This password seems to be a BIOS password, but I have no idea why this password is displayed if you have never defined it.
Unfortunately, there is not a lot to see the BIOS password can be removed without the help of an ASP.

Then, contact the service provider allowed in your country and request removal of the password.

I also recommend updating the BIOS after the technician removed the password.

Do you know how to find the ASP closest?

Here is a site with all FSA worldwide:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/-> support download &-> find an authorized service provider

  • Satellite Pro P300 - locks up if I insert an SD card

I have Toshiba Satellite Pro P300 running Vista 32.

Whenever I have insert and screen SD card becomes a wonderful mosac and the PC hangs and I have to re - start. I tested the card / formatted the card using an external on the PC card reader and it works / tested fine.

    Any body got any ideas.

    Hello!

What SD cards you are trying to use it on your laptop? I recommend you the user manual if the type or size of the SD card is supported on this model.

And you've updated the driver for the SD card reader? You can find it on the Toshiba site:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online downloads support & -online Download Driver

In the worst case, it s a hardware malfunction of the card or motherboard, but this reader should be checked by a technician of the laptop.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - lock when the battery power

I have a Satellite P300 and facing an intermittent problem where keyboard and mouse lock up when battery-powered, it doesn't happen when running on the grid. The screen shows many lines top when this happens.
I use mobile broadband [prepaid 3], but I don't think that's the rub.

    Can anyone help? PADI.

    Hi padi.

    This s really strange question...

More details on your laptop would be interesting. You use the pre-installed Windows version or you have installed another OS?

Theoretically, it could be a hardware malfunction or software/driver problem. In a first step, I would reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disc.

  • Satellite Pro 440 CDT: forgotten password

I have an old book of CDT 440 of satellite, and I don't remember the password for it. all this is check the memory, and nothing more, is there a way to reset this password?
    Pascal

    Hi Pascal,.

I assume it's the startup password you have forgotten, that case you will need to take your laptop to a Service Agent allowed for it to reset. They will probably need prove you that you have not for security reasons.

As a temporary measure, you can try now hold the left SHIFT key during the boot process, it will bypass the BIOS password on some Toshiba laptops, although it does not reset it.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro S500 - 11 c - password not recognized

I bought a S500 - 11 c in July. I have set up with a startup password and it seemed ok. Turn it on, enter the password and off you go.
I've written the password down "just in case".

Due to circumstances the laptop then unused for about two months. Now, he does not recognize the password and does not start.

What can I do to remedy this?

    Hey Anchorage,

To be a little more detail, what password you mean exactly?

There are several types of BIOS passwords:
    HARD drive password-
    -The BIOS user password
    -The BIOS supervisor password
    -Windows password

So what password say you exactly?

  • SATELLITE PRO L10 POWER ON PASSWORD

    CAN SOMEONE HELP WHAT TO
    POWER ON PASSWORD

    Hello

I suggest you set the market password in the BIOS.
I think it s a BIOS password. This password, you can set to secure the connection of the operating system. If this password is set the unit will ask you during the procedure of starting for the correct password.
Please note: If you have forgotten this password if you do not have the possibility to enter the operating system. In this case only the ASP can remove it.

HARD drive password is known - no problem.
According to Toshiba, the HARD drive password can be reset in the BIOS.

By following the instructions in the documentation, a new password is entered, but a 'beep' is returned and it is clear that the password has not been changed.
A support call was placed about 2 months there with the dealer who couldn't solve the problem. The dealer contacted Toshiba support helpdesk who told them that HARD drive password reset should be possible and they had no explanation or solution.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
