Satellite won't start

When I go to turn on the laptop, it will rough the Toshiba, the graphics windows startup shows while he holds for several minutes. So if flashes some long message very fast (not enough time to read). Then after he cancels the boot Toshiba and this healthy spirit scenario happen again.

I tried
-By pressing F8, repair. The only thing that happens is the mouse arrow appears nothing happens.
-Safe mode - nothing
-Make progress at last know good start, repeat above scenario.

Any advice would be great.

I don't know if hard disk image still exists, but have you tried to use a recovery disc?

  • Re: Satellite won't start because of the virus

One of my computer got a virus and it was spent on my Toshiba Satellite laptop by a USB.

Now when I turn on my laptop, the screen lights up, but remains empty (except the mouse).

I tried system restore - it did not work. I had three points to restrore - and each of them said that the restoration of the system did not work properly due to a system error.

I checked also the memory and everything - but I'm not avoiding the recovery of the system (the one where all the files will be deleted) that I desperately need to keep my files.

What can I do to solve my problem?

    Hello

I doubt that a virus could cause this problem
I mean the virus can damage the operating system pre-installed, but the laptop has yet to start.
The Toshiba recovery disc formats the entire HARD drive, and in this case the virus must be erased from the HARD disk too

But if you are not able to reinstall the OS and are not able to start using disks bootable like Win XP, Linux or Toshiba Recovery disk so I assumed that this problem could be linked to the issue of the material and not to any viruses on your HARD drive.

Then try to reinstall the OS and check it out!

  • Satellite P300-156 won't start or by MAIL

    Hello

I have a Satellite P300-156 I bought a few months as damaged. The screen has been damaged and the case slightly cracked. I replaced the screen and hard drive and main card seems to have no physical damage. I've been running this system for 3 months now without any problem but, today, for some reason, it won't start or even POST. It powers on and the CPU fan starts to turn then stops and does nothing. No display (I tried external). CD player works. No beeps.

I tried reinstalling RAM even open completely and reinstalling all connections, nothing done. Does anyone have an idea what component is gone? (CPU/GPU/RAM)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

Did you update the BIOS or something?
For me, this is a normal behavior when the BIOS chip is faulty.

  • Satellite U400-14 b turns off and now it won't start

    Hello

just got a new Satellite U400 this week.
Worked perfectly the first days, and then last night, it just turns off and now it won't start.

I press the button and the row of lights beside him light up, but nothing happens that I n t even get as much as the Toshiba screen.
I tried a lot of things. I left it plugged in all night, tried to take the battery and any results now.

Little led lights on the bottom indicates that it is his stuffy, battery is white not orange when you press they light up only for a fraction of a second.

The only thing I can compare it is too when a car won t start and you keep turning and turning the key, well in that case, pushing a button, and nothing happens, fans don t whir or anything...

    help please...

Additional memory (RAM) has been installed? Try to remove a memory Module and try another memory location.

If bad memory is not the problem, then there is not much else you can do except send it to an ASP for warranty repairs.

  • Satellite 1800-100 won't start with new memory

My satellite s1800-100 won't start although my new memory (2nd) module is 128 MB PC100.

I have Samsung samsung K4S281632C-TC1H module as PC100 (128 MB) memory on SLOT 1 by default.

Although all of the features and form factors are clean, why not my Satellite S1800-100 starts? I checked the new (slot 2) memory works fine and tested OK.

So, is there as a possibility to have a problem in the 2 Slot? Or is associated with failure of the BIOS? (there is no more recent BIOS, current is 2.20 for Satellite S1800-100).

I am disappointed. I bought a new 128 MB PC100, to insert it in the slot 2, my Toshiba didn't boou up!.

Important note: if I connect the new memory I bought yesterday, works very well in Slot 1.

    Please help and understanding.

    Kind regards...

    Hello

Well, it very difficult to say why it won't start.
I think that there are several possibilities:

(1.) you used a bad module
(2.) the second Bank of the Board of Directors has a malfunction
(3.) the laptop does not support max 256 MB of RAM

I think that point 1 and 3 is not relevant because you have tested the module and it worked on the first location. Additional the laptop should be able to handle 2 x 256 MB memory, so you should be able to use 2 x 128 MB

I think that the second ram location may have a malfunction.
Please check the second slot with a module of memory.

The second possibility is to use exactly the module which is recommended by Toshiba.
    As I remember it s PC100 128 MB (PA3005U) SDRAM

  • Satellite L500D won't start

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite L500D won't start.

When I start my laptop lights three on the light green left, the two on the left are not green or red. I hear the coolingfan, no beeps at startup. When I start the laptop with a systemdisk is the same, nothing happens.

I have contact the supportdesk and they said it could be the hard drive, this seems a little strange for me because I can't begin with a systemdisk.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction

    Buddy

    Hello

Unfortunately on this virtual path, it is not easy to say with certainty what can be the problem.
It will be interesting to know what you did with your computer laptop last days.
Have you installed some day or anything that may be responsible for the issue described?

    Update the BIOS maybe?

  • Satellite L30 PSL33E won't start at all - the LED blinks 6 times

    Hello

My poor mother is quite upset! Its Satellite L30 PSL33E just died.

It completely off and now won't start at all.
Orange light flashes six times when you press the power button.
No hard drive, fan, screen or any other noise / activity.

    She tried without the battery.

A kind of hardware failure, I guess.

Any ideas what this blink code means?

    Thanks in advance,
    D.

I put t know what the code means, but you can read it. short means 0 and 1 long

In any case, the error code means that a hardware failure has been detected on the motherboard and motherboard replacement could help you?
    Why?

because what is really hard to fix a motherboard for laptop very s.
It especially not possible if you n t s have sufficient knowledge, experience, and special tools.

I think that either you contact the ASP in your country and ask a difficulty or you'll have to buy a new laptop ;(

  • Satellite Pro 2100 won't start at all - LED flash

My SP2100 began to have feeding problems and now won't start at all. The AC adapter green LED is lit, that are relevant lights on the body of the laptop (although the "battery charge" light always orange these days). When I try the switch on, startup begins (in fact succeeded on occasion until this morning), however the battery indicator and the adapter lights are flashing, and everything stops again.

On the rare occasions when I'll be past this stage, lights blinking, and the system soon shuts down again with a screen message "low battery." Until this morning, he would sometimes settle, the computer remained on, and the lights showed a State of equilibrium as usual.

Initially I thought that the problem was of course the battery or the AC adapter, but now I'm starting to think that it is with internal PSU of the laptop (although I suspect the battery is probably tour after all this part of loading and unloading).

    Any ideas?

    Hello

I think you're right. Flashing LEDS are a sign that hardware is defective.
I can't say what exactly is the problem, this should be verified by a technicain.
On the other side I don't know if it's worth to repair such an old machine.

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c - Vista won't start up - how replace/repair boot.ini

    Hello

I have a Toshiba P200 - 17 c of the vista computer and it won't start, freezes on the splash screen. I have
used iso image to boot from and ran repair disk, makes no difference.
Machine will not get beyond microsoft loading page (with yellowish scroll bar).

My question is: How can I replace / repair the boot.ini file to get the machine to start or disable all applications / drivers for applications in order to get the machine to start.

I have not (my fault) create a back up or restore disk.
After booting the machine from cd, system repair running and try to run the system restore doesn't work...

Can anyone advise on a way to replace/repair boot.ini or turn off the drivers?

Try to avoid to pay another £30 pounds for a recovery disc that I already paid for the licensed software, don't know why.
If you pay because you do not get a copy of Vista with machine...

Anyway any help would be most appreciated.

    G

    Hello

    > How to replace / repair the boot.ini file to get the machine to start or disable all applications / drivers for applications in order to get the machine to start.
I doubt that this could be done under Vista cannot modify the boot.ini as on Win XP OS.
To edit the boot.ini file you must use the BCDEDIT command.
However, I put t think it would start the Vista correctly.

    In my opinion you have two options;
You can use the safe mode and might attempt to start the Vista slim or you have to reinstall the entire operating system yet.
But I doubt you'll be able to start in safe mode if the system repair and system restore didn't work too.

So in my opinion the last real solution could be the new facility.

  • New Satellite P300 won't start.

I hope you can give me some advice. This week, I bought a new Toshiba P300 GU with Vista Home Premium. It worked fine for about 3 days, but now it won't start at all.

    Symptoms:

    * - Some LED lights blink for a second, then they stop again.
    * - No fan or drive noise.
I tried to remove the battery and power cables and left the computer for a day before trying again. There is no difference except for a few plus-lumieres LED flashes for a second, the first time I try to start the computer. The next time I try, only a few lights flash again.

After I discovered the startup problem I noticed that food is quite noisy. I also noticed that the machine has a small mark RENS in the plastic in the upper left above the screen. (Looks like a defect of manufacturing error or transport) You hardly notice the 1 cm small inconsistency in the plastic, but it doesn't look like a normal scratch.

As I thought that food could be the cause of the problems because of the strange sounds, I brought the maschine to a PC technician today. He tested the food and said it was working normally, but he also said that this should not seem like that. He did not open the laptop, to not cause trouble about the Toshiba warranty.

I bought the computer to the Denmark I wanted a Danish keyboard. However, I live in Portugal, where I use the computer. Where is the PC now.

Do you recommend that I contact an ASP to the Portugal to fix the PC or do you propose I have return the PC to the merchant at the Denmark?

The ASP will be able to exchange the screen and power supply that are not in the State, they must be good obviously both?

    Thanks for the tips!

    Hello

First of all I must say I never had problems after 3 days of my new Toshiba laptop but these things happen and no manufacturing activity is perfect.

In addition, I agree with you. I would bring the laptop to an ASP because it seems that this motherboard is defective but I do not know Mr. it's only my personal opinion, and therefore the laptop should be checked by a technician for laptop.

As far as I know that the laptop is covered by 1 year international warranty and so I would contact the ASP in your country. Ask them if they can fix your computer laptop and if not, you must communicate with other ASP where you bought the laptop.
I think this is the best solution because they can tell you what to do exactly.

Good luck and I m sure that your laptop will be repaired as soon as possible.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L40 - 14N won't start, if I install two 2 GB memory modules

Computer won't start, if I install two modules of 2 gigabytes RAM, I can install vista 64 on this computer to overcome this problem, have updated bios.or is there anything else I can do.it also won't work if I put a 2 and a 1 GB of ram in.

    Any help would be apprecated

    mayala

No, Vista 64 bit will not solve your problem. The fact is that this model of laptop only supports a maximum of 2 GB of Ram in total. For example, you can use one of your 2GB memory module.

If you do so, laptop will start again.

  • A30 won, t start

Hello. I'm new on this forum, but I need help. When I turn on my Satellite A30 it won't start. I get the: in touch with toshiba on the screen, then the fan starts but it won't start. I get this message on the screen: PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable of
PXE - MOF: exit ROM PXE.
    John was soon

    Hi Mustafa,

In the BIOS settings, you should have an option called "Memory of UMA", which should show that 64 MB. This is the memory allocated to your graphics card and is main part of RAM of the laptop.

If you choose this item it should display the options available in 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB and 128 MB. use the arrow keys to change from 64 MB to 128 MB., then save settings and exit. On re - start your available RAM will be reduced by the additional 64 MB, which will be reserved for your graphics card.

  • Re: My L50-A-1 Satellite will not start

    Hello world

I have a C50-A-1 Satellite and it won't start. I used my computer at work this morning on the farm and I realized that I forgot my food at home. My laptop just Runic off battery and off of himself.

I came home, put the power supply and no lights are on my laptop won't start. I can't remove the battery on this laptop, so I can't check if it works only with the power supply...

    Any suggestion?
    Thank you very much

    Hello

I recommend to use the reset (small hole) button located at the bottom of the unit.
Usually, in the case of PC freezes, do not start or has a power failure, you can stop it by pressing the power button for 10 seconds (force shutdown).

    Here's the full description:
[The stop switch of strength (hole) for models with one main battery fixed | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm]

  • Satellite L40 - no start

I have a month old Satellite L40-17s. Now when turned on I had a completely black screen with just the white arrow on the screen pointer. NOTHING else. When I turn off, the power LED flashes orange - which seems to indicate that the computer has been in mode 'sleep' (slowly).

However, turning on wakes up NOT he. Tried to turn and several times. Absolutely nothing - just a black screen and won't start. The Green drive light flashes that I press the power switch.

Any ideas on how to start up again?

    Hello

    Does not sound well :(

Before you call the ASP in your country, try this:

    -Unplug the power adapter
    -Remove the battery
    -wait about 20-30 min
-reconnect the battery and the AC adapter
    -try to start the laptop

If this doesn't help not using ASP would be needed!

    Good luck
