Scam by phone?
Hi, I keep getting an increasing number of calls unidentified people claiming to be members of support technique microsoft. They inform me that I have to press the windows and r at the same time key to rid my computer of network problems. They also inform me that they have my computer id?
Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be representative of Microsoft Windows. He said I had a Virus and that he had to talk me through a few steps to do a small patch on my computer. He says his name is Steve Parker and gave a number of Id itself 12724. He was a foreign language and doesn't sound like a 'Parker '! It's a scam.
Tell them that you declare them to the Police and hang up on them.
Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.

If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, explain, and change passwords.
If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.
And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.

possible scam of phone microsoft
Hello - I got daily phone calls from "No. Caller ID" people claiming to work for Microsoft with regard to hacking my account. All of the appellants had an Indian accent and some have hung up when I asked for a number to call back on until today.
An Indian lady gave me his details and asked me to call her back on:
Microsoft, Thames Valley Park, Reading
1721 employee ID
Amanda Parker
0118-328-2346
still sounds dubious and I not call her back, as the "Amanda Parker" does not sound of Indian decent?
is the normal procedure of Microsoft to call me by phone without previous introduction of myself?
I recently lost a laptop computer so am curious, could be something to do with it?

I think someone made a scam and use of microsoft windows as there is a way to enter your House. I need to know if it's a scam. I got a cal from windows telling me the last 2 weeks my computer has een get a virus and will break unless a representative of your company out to solve the problem. They even had my home. My computer works well and still be notified if there is an alert any. Help!
27 January 2015, I received a call also say my computer is having problems and if I didn't remove the unwanted files all my free space would be used upwards. Because I'm having problems and need to get my Web page all the time and I report my problems to Microsoft, I thought that's why they called me. They won the remote access and my date of birth and credit card information. I answered security questions and my answers have been modified remotely to transfer Western Union funds immediately, I hung up the phone and shut down my computer. I wasn't able to get back on the computer because I've accessed remotely. I called the Bank and then Microsoft to report the scam. They helped me change my password. I then took my computer to Best Buy Geek Squad to see if something has been downloaded. Fortunately, it was OK.

Scam possible phone call concerning the safety of Msoft
I received a phone call claiming to be from Microsoft support service who contacted people whose computer generated a lot of spam due to infection by the virus. When I tried to get detailed information about them after a while, they became angry and told me to ' get lost - M - F-.» Doesn't seem much like a service of type MSoft for me?
Interesting that they knew my name and my personal phone number.
The two people who spoke to me had heavy Indian/Pakistani accents.
I ran my scan Avast probs 0 - also several scans of this site 0 Msoft probs
Has anyone received this type of appeal?

Microsoft Technical Support phone scam
Hello, I recently received a call (about 5 minutes ago) from Microsoft. They claimed to be Microsoft technical support. They told me that my computer has sent a lot of warning and error messages to Microsoft. They said that messages and stuff said that my computer had downloaded malicious software malware and it could damage my system and internal hard drive. Then they told me that they did not answer me and now called for helping me solve this message. (I stopped to think about what they said because I had been having a lot of problems of slow boot and Windows taking almost 5 + minutes to start). So I played along for a while, but only for a minute. The first guy says let me connect to our senior technical specialist or something like that. Then I logged. The second guy says: "Hello my name is ___ Snyder (I remember only the family name)." They have given me in my observer of events and after I hung up with suspicion and Bishop/confidentiality. They tried to call me again, but I rejected the call. Please give me advice on this issue. I want to know if it's a scam to take over my computer and steal my identity, etc. or is it really Microsoft tries to help to fix my computer.

Both were men. We had a strong accent from the Middle East while it had a slight accent Middle Easterners to it.
One of the men claimed to be the main _ (don't remember the average Word) specialist. It was called _ (don't remember the name), said Snyder.
Track of the location of the call. Approximate location is the New Hampshire, USA. This is as far as I know

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, it's a scam
A few hours earlier, I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. TO NUMBER A BLOCKED (no caller ID). Said that they were receiving messages from my computer it has been infected by a virus. I ran the two Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, and as MANY say that NOTHING malicious was detected.
Please advise me how to proceed. I asked them to call back tomorrow.

Hiya, I got a ring of guy saying it was Ant support for Microsoft that my software warranty had expired and that my computer was in danger of break up at any time from last week. computer is not even a year and I haven't finished to pay off so its under warranty HP iv business starting. is it a scam? Phone scam. Call claiming to be from Microsoft.
Original title: phone scam
Received a call from 23-456-7809 today, and he told me he worked for Microsoft and said that my computer has a lot of viruses from the internet. He was also an Indian man. Then he told me to go to run and type 'inf', from there, he said all these files affect my computer and remove any that you don't recognize. I delete anything thankfully. After that he told me to type something else in the Run dialog box and causes the word "cat", I don't remember what the rest of it was but it was a www site. This is when I knew this guy was playing me. I was not followed to type in the site "www" and "cat" in the Run dialog box. I hooked immediately after. My question is if I am at risk because I typed in 'inf '? Give him no personal information or credit card etc. numbers. Just did my Norton anti virus run and 36 risk came after the call that have been removed from my computer. I've was type in 'inf' in the run box for this guy, Im right ok?
It took anytime control of your computer? The part 'cat' makes me leary. If it did not control, he could well have stolen information that puts you at high risk. insofar as a bank or other sensitive sites, you have the passwords for.

I received two calls this morning, an hour outside, a male born foreigner (Indian accent) claiming to be technical maintenance for Microsoft. Recently we received a phone call from "Microsoft Security" and, unfortunately, the person who is answering the phone enabled the appellant to have remote access to our computers. We have 3 additional computers which are connected wireless through our router and I am not computer savvy. I don't know, but are 3 other computers at risk for this potential virus that may or may not have been downloaded on the other computer?
We changed all of our passwords to Web sites that we can think that have our credit and banking information and take the Tower of the computer that was available since to check, but is there something else to do more?

Don't forget to contact your company to Bank and credit card as the PERP may try to access
your accounts directly.Reinstalling Windows (or back to return to the State of out-of-the-box) would be good to do.

Hi all. Earlier today, I phoned by someone claiming to be from Microsoft technical care; He said that my computer has been infected with a new virus (Trojan something?) and generated a lot of error messages. He asked me to download a software to help solve this (www.teamviewer.com); When I asked him to send the confirmation email that he was from Microsoft, it is very aggressive, said my license may be cancelled and finally told me to ' go to *'. Is it possible that this could be a real MS technical support call: the way of the appellant does not, but he asked me to watch some log files that to my uneducated eyes, seemed to have a lot of error messages, but I help but feel it is a scam.

Received the phone call on the problems of the computer, it's a scam
I got one of the phone calls of theses today if it wasn't for hear this morning, I'd gone ahead with what she was asking me, she got my address and my phone none that is relative, she was very persistent, when I told him I would contact mirosoft and I have the laptop checked by a profesional she said thay would not have time to contact me , how can I know if my computer and information is safe? and why there has not been a warning about this sent to all by microsoft, this wonen was rude when the phone cut of and called back demanding I did what she said.

I got a call this morning from someone who said they were technical support for all users of Microsoft and proceeded to take control of my computer and show me a bunch of errors on my computer and I was in danger of my emails being hacked. They said to my computer license had expired and that's how they got my phone number.
They simply call random numbers and now your computer has been compromised.

Dear Microsoft product support,
I got at least 3 calls from the same person who claims to be a Tech from Microsoft IT, and he says he's from New York. He says that my computer is turning off the messages and I need to fix my computer and he wants me to get on the computer and allow it to help me fix the problem. I don't think I have a problem with my computer. It has a foreign accent, possibly Indian and I do not trust him enter into my computer.
Do you think that it is a scam of phone and I should just ignore him in the future since it is supposed to call back me about 20:00 tonight or simply hang up when he calls. Please notify earlier.

It is a well known phone scam which last for years. Microsoft does not control any PC and has none of the unsolicited calls. He doesn't even know your phone number - how could it?
In no case give the appellant access to your machine.

I have Firefox v8. When I try to open a PDF file, all I get is a solid black box.
When I try to view a PDF file, at the start, I get a transparent box and as soon as I expanded it, it turns into a solid black rectangle. I wonder if there are any add-on which will fix this problem. If I use IE, I have no problem.
