ScanJet 4370

The death knell for the scanjet 4370 is dirty on the inside. How can this be cleaned?

Clean the glass is really easy.  I made mine a couple of times.

Unplug everything and return the unit.  Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws. To clean, use a towel with no lint as a paper coffee filter.  Avoid liquid commercial spray because they ALL have a small additive to make the fog of glass to the top after a certain time (so you need to clean again and again and buy more products).  Just moisten the filter with a few drops of water and gently wipe the glass.

If your device is noisy during operation, dribble a light oil on the gears and wheels.  DO NOT MAKE MORE!

Replace the screws.

Total, o ' cake.

  • ScanJet 4370 not visible anymore

    Hi all

I have a Scanjet 4370 which I use to scan my old photos/negatives. Since a recent update of the Mac OS, they scan has become completely invisible. I don't see even on my list of equipment in the System Profiler. I almost tried everything, uninstalling the software, for the news of the website of HP, supposed to be compatible, etc... The scanner is just not there. I tried on several Mac computers, all the same result (all have the latest version of the software). On a PC (windows 7), no problem, it is not supported (picassa used to import the photos).

    I'm completely lost

    Can someone please help

    Thank you

    Patrick

Okay, I think that there are ruminants of the old software (false for 10.6).  We will do this:

Install the software wrong again (from the CD if you have one).

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall< scrubber="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now run a software update.

Finally, download and install the driver "Full Featured" and the software from here.

  • Software Scanjet 4370

I know this might be an old scanner, but it used to work for my needs.  The scanner worked until I had a problem and contacted the HP Support for assistance.  They had me download and install version 9 of the scanner software.  Now I can't use the Solutions centre, to scan an image.  I have to use the buttons on the scanner.  The scanner works, but something in this software does not work.  I tried to uninstall all the programs HP Photosmart using Add/Remove, part of uninstalling Windows Installer Cleanup and download programs.  I thought I could use my original installation CD, but there's something blocking who settle down now.  I read several post, where people ask for help with their 4370 scanners, but it's not like they get answers.  This means HP has washed its hands of all the problems this scanner can have?

Basic question is "How to get the center of Solution to start to communicate with my scanner again?".

I always use an old HP a1637c PC running Windows XP MCE, if that's any help.

I think I finally met with success, get my Scanjet 4370 to work again.  After reading a lot of post about problems with the Solution Center, I sort of follow-up advice from the Chap (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-faxing-and-copying/Fixed-Scan-and-HP-Solution-Center/m-p/167957/highlight/true#M5130).  IT WORKED FOR ME, BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND ALL TO TRY IT.  Again, I have uninstalled all HP Scanner, used Windows Installer Clean up, and Add/Remove to remove everything I could find.  Then, I went into Program Files and renamed the old HP HP folder.  So, I restarted my PC.  This time instead of using the HP suggested COL11004 download or download from setup_full_G3010_4370, I installed the original my installation CD scanner software.  I could be using the Solution Center version 50.0.152.000 and Image Zone 5.0, but at least my scanner works from the center of the Solution, as previously.  Now all I have to do, is to try to prevent the HP Solution Center Update updates and things may work.

Still using the old HP Pavilion a1637c PC, Windows XP MCE 2002, SP3, Deskjet 930c printer and a scanner Scanjet 4370.

  • HP Deskjet 6980: windows 10 + HP6980 to print YELLOW

The driver for the HP Deskjet 6980 for Windows 10 mistranslates colors sent to the printer. It's what I use is the only new driver for this printer for Windows 7/64.

Specifically, the YELLOW does not print at all - anything this spell either green blue. I tested this feature by printing two versions of color bars. Indeed, there is no yellow printing, and all the Greens are printed blue. And, Yes, I use new color and black cartridges, so no need to ask about it.

I built a computer completely NEW with NEW hard disks and a clean install of Windows 10/64-bit via USB 3.0 drive. The only two things that the surplus of my old Windows XP system are the printer and the scanner (HP Scanjet 4370) which worked perfectly on XP system. The scanner has its own problems with Windows 10 and the HP Photosmart Premier does not work (but it is a different matter). I downloaded the new drivers for both devices.

Apparently, from what I read on the site of HP, the printer or the scanner are supported any longer. I consider that very rude and unacceptable, especially since no appropriate replacement printer is available new from HP with good quality that I've come to expect from HP.

All that said, is anyone know how I can get my printer to print YELLOW?

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

The Deskjet 6980 is available in the IN-OS drivers.

    Follow these steps

    1. click right on the button start (Windows icon) select 'control panel '.

    2. under "Control Panel", select "view devices and printers."

    3. Select "add a printer".

    4. If he finds your printer (you have your printer connect via the USB port on your computer), follow these steps to install the drivers in the OS.  Otherwise, select 'the printer that I want isn't listed' > next

    5. in the next screen, select 'Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings' > next

    6. Select "use an existing port: ' > next»»

    7. Select HP > HP Deskjet 6980 (HP) (we recommend that you click on "Windows Update" which could make the HP Deskjet 6980 printer (HP) option.  Note that the 'Windows Update' can take up to 10 minutes depending on how fast your speed at wide band is"

    8. click on 'Next' and follow the remaining steps to install your printer driver.

    Hope that helps for printing.

About your Scanner, you can try this:

    HP extended Scan

    FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it has downloaded and installed, go to start > all programs > HP > HP Scan extended > Run "HP Scan extended.

  • HP Scan does not scan after upgrade of the Lion

I upgraded to a Lion for Snow Leopard and followed the instructions of HPs (uninstall, reinstall the driver for 10.6, Lion install update). Now HP Scan can't find my scanner (Scanjet 4370).

OK, we can expect about resetting the printing system, but I got lucky with sweep because digitization will in fact through this system (note that it is called Print & Scan in the Lion system preferences).

If you can make a copy to the front of the printer to scan works.  If you can't, it is broken.  Its a bit easy than this.

    Did you download this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

Download it, restart, then delete and add the printer in Sys Prefs.

  • ScanJet g4050 not compatible with El Capitan

ScanJet g4050 no longer works with El Capitan. I have iMac and on the update of OS X 10.11 the scanner stopped communicating with the computer.

    Any suggestions?

Finally, I contacted HP.  They are aware of the problem. They said they no longer support scanjet G4050. However, they recommend a third-party software that can be downloaded on the net. BUT you will have to pay the money.

    That's what they said:

The solution that we recommend is VueScan. http://www.Hamrick.com/VueScan/hp_scanjet_g4050.html

If you pay 80 USD for the software of theVueScan get the scammer as he was running, or buy a new scanner.

    This is the case!

  • Windows 7 will not recognize driver for HP Scanjet 5370c scanner

I was not able to get Windows 7 to recognize the driver for my HP Scanjet scanner on my new HP Pavilion Elite a9200z desktop computer.  I tried to install the original driver delivered with the software that not only failed, but it was necessary to do a system restore to an earlier date.  After downloading the software update and the driver on the HP website (for the XP operating system. (No), the software successfully installed but Device Manager said there is no driver installed.  I tried Udating driver in Device Manager, but none were found on the system.  I'm afraid that because the driver is not signed by HP, this is perhaps the reason that the system will not recognize it.  I do not receive a message about the driver being made and has been disabled.

Where would the driver have been installed under Windows and what would be the name of the file?  Is it possible to install a driver that has not been signed on Windows 7, even though I know that it comes directly from the manufacturer.  I came on this forum that says HP email support is no longer in effect for this scanner.  Scanner was working fine under Windows XP.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Thank you for your response.  I posted the same question to the Board of Directors Microsoft as well.  One of the technicians gave me a link to a website that has software in support of scanners which pilots the manufacturer has not, for some reason, took worth to upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7.  I installed Vuescan driver bundled with the program which works perfectly, and my scanner HP Scanjet scanner 5370c is upward and great in Windows 7.  They have a list of more than 100 scanners supported by the program.  So, anyone interested should check the list before you buy the program.  No, the program is not free, but it is much cheaper ($39.95) that pitching on a scanner perfectly ideal of work and having to buy a new one.    Anyway, if anyone is interested in the possibility of using their scanner ' is no longer supported "with Windows 7, the website below might help.

  • HP Scanjet 4300C compatibility with Windows 7

I did an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 and my scanner HP Scanjet 4300C seems to be properly installed in Windows 7, but nothing happens when I try to scan.

In the Panel, the Scanner seems to work, but when I try to add a scanning profile I get the error "unable to initioalize the selected scanner. The test of the scanner button is also disabled and the scanner does not appear in 'My computer' as a scanning device.

I think there may be an updated driver to resolve this problem? The scanner was working fine under Windows XP.

    Hope you can help me.

Thanks to this post, I figured out how to get the scanner software and the driver installed and working on Windows 7 32 bit.

    Here are the directions:

    1. If your scanner is connected to your computer (USB) uninstall by using Device Manager, do not forget to check the box that says "remove driver." And unplug the USB when it is uninstalled.  When I did this had never installed the software previously in my Windows 7 operating system.

    2. download the sj657 Installer packed HP. http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/generic...=reg_R1002_USEN
Unzip it into a folder.  If you double-click on the downloaded file, it will attempt to open the file of configuration automatically and you will get a message saying that the software only works on Windows 98, etc.  Just cancel and go to the folder (default location is C:sj657) and proceed to the next step.

    3. Select the "setup" application and right-click on it to get properties, replace the XP compatibility (I have service pack 2). Then run the TI and click 'OK' on all Windows 7 warnings.

    4. go in the folder Hewlett-Packard now in your directory Program Files, there will be a folder "HP Precisionscan". It will be the only unless you have to other HP products. Open the Precisionscan LTX folder and change all the apps XP compatibility.  I have also verified that the administrator checkbox on each app (there are several) just in case.

    5 restart your computer.

6 plug in your scanner via USB and let in install.  Windows 7 should give you a notice that your C 4300 has been installed successfully.

The scanner now works using the LTX software installed on your computer. The buttons on the front do not seem to work, or can do you something with it by going to 'scanners and cameras' in your control panel. BUT in the case otherwise, it seems to work great and all the features are there in the LTX software.

My old C 4300 (I bought this probably nearly a decade) is somehow better than a newer scanner that I bought last year.

  • HP Scanjet G4010 Windows 7 software problem

I recently updated my computer to Windows 7 and installed the latest drivers and software for my old scanjet G4010.  It will scan using the button on the scanner, but I can't adjust scanning settings (picture of quality, where the harvest, etc.).

BUT the scanner software does not work. This brings me through the installer without any problems until it reaches the actual scan wick. By clicking on finish, there is no process of scanning, and nothing is recorded. Have you tried several places, but... nothing.  Not in a satisfactory way, such that it has reduced what was a versatile workhorse to a silent photocopier.

    Is there a solution?

    Hi Paul2001,

I understand that since the upgrade your OS to Windows 7, you are no longer able to use the scanning software.

I would like that you start here: 'No. Scan Options' or "scan settings are not defined", that will guide you through the troubleshooting steps and also the possible solutions.

I would like to know if it was useful, if you have more questions please let me know.

    Thank you

The product that you have is a commercial scanner. I suggest you post in the HP Business Support forum for a better chance to find a solution.
