Scanner seems to prevent initialization

I got a used HP Officejet Pro L7780 all-in-one. I got it home, plugged into the wall outlet, seen pictures of faxes/scans/documents printed as well as the time, date, ink levels. I got the Panel to display in English, then went to configuring wireless, selected my network ID, typed in the neck of my network.
The display panel shows the network configuration menu. The page just before the selection of network ID. I let it sit for about half an hour, just in case it was just being slow, without change.
I unplugged, plugged in, now, the screen displays the image of the prints/scans/Fax with the clock in the upper-left, the date right, no more icons in its lower part; left or right.
The time is accurate returns at the time of power, but it freezes within 2 minutes time to plugin of reading hours later.
The buttons are not admissible, I held down to the Red Cross and the power button, no response at all.
The only way to do anything is to unplug the device.
When I open the scanner part where will documents to scan, the light is on and sometimes not in the storage position. When I close the lid of the scanner section, the light moves to the parking position but remains lit.
Any help is appreciated, but I'm not panicking because I have a backup scanner/printer to continue to use while it is in limbo.

Edit: a little more information. When I turn it on, I can use the buttons and it sometimes changes of menus on the screen. It is, however, lag. I'll see what buttons I pushed a few seconds after pressing some. I was able to turn off the power by pressing the power button in this little time before it freezes.
I downloaded the drivers from the full suite of HP and installed on my main PC.
When I plug the USB in, I get this message: http://i.imgur.com/yi9KXBi.jpg:
The HP imaging device was not found.
{Troubleshooting, been through them all, no work steps}
Extended error information: 8 [(1, 0,-2147221500)]

Solved.
I do not know which of them has worked, but here's what I did.
1. I'm fed up with it.
2. I gave punch Fonzi.
3. I open the scanner cover.
4. I unplugged from the wall.
5. I have it plugged in backwards while the scanner cover has increased.
6. the screen displays something on 'hit ok after removing the jammed paper', but believe me, I've seen throughout this thing and do not found trace of paper anywhere in it.
7. I pressed 'ok' in a whisper, 'I hope this works."while squinting my eyes.
8. I saw the wireless radio icon and ink level icons appear, as well as the normal print/fax/whatever image as well as the time and date on the screen.
9. I printed a test page for the computer while it was connected to the computer via USB.

Now as soon as I close that window, I'll go through the nightmare of the connection to this network.

    The safety of MS Scanner will not prevent your system from being infected again - you need to use another product to help with that.

    No single analytical tool seems to know everything, so it is prudent to use more than one.

    Microsoft is not in cases of prevention, detection or removal of malware - that aren't their specialty.  There are other companies where the removal, prevention and detection of malware is their specialty and that's all they do all day long.

    Why are we expect or ask Microsoft to surpass in the areas where it's not their job?

    We do not know enough about your system for now, so see if you can get it cleaned up and stabilized first and then decide what to do next.

    If you still think your system may be achieved a malware, I would do these things before you start any troubleshooting effort:

    Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

    They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

    Download and run Hitman Pro here and during installation to be 100% sure to refuse the installation of toolbars, decline any e-mail options, nothing to do with Bing or MSN, perform a scan time, accept no e-mail and activate the free license:

    http://www.SurfRight.nl/en/downloads/ (make sure you get the free version)

    Download and run TDSSKiller from Kaspersky:
    http://support.Kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?QID=208280684

    The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

    If you still think that you have any questions, then proceed as follows:

    Since the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

    Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

    Provide information on your system, the better you can:

    What is your system brand and model?

    What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

    What is your Internet browser and version?

    Your system's disks IDE or SATA drives?

    Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

    The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

    The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

    You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

    Do you see that you think not you should see and when you see it?

    What do not you think that you should see?

    If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

  • Scanner will not scan on Mac.

    Hello

    All of a sudden that my printer (Photosmart C6380) refuses to scan what either on my Mac. I go to the scanner that I would normally the Photosmart studio and select scan. The scanner then begins to initialize, then: "an unknown error has occurred" pop up appears. I did not what is wrong because it's all pop up says, he won't go into details in addition so I have no idea what actually is this error. I tried scanning my other printer HP (Deskjet F4280) and it came with the same error. I even tried the scan using my Macbook and I get the same error too. I also tried scanning the Mac to the printer, then the printer initializes and freezes I have to restart the printer.

    I recently installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard on both Mac and that could be the reasoning of the problem, but the printer works without any problem. It just seems to be the scanner itself.

    Thanks in advance.

    On the right column is where you tell the file name, type, location, etc.  When you click on the Scan button it saves it (he actually does scan yet).

    Define a location and a file name to test.

    At the time I upgraded to Panther snow, I experienced a loss of use of the function scanner on my printer HP 4500 scanner so that I am able to use the printer function.  I was advised to try to solve the problem with a Capture of Image Download.  Where can I get the right version and how should I proceed?  Is it free?

    The communication problem that prevented initialization of the printer by the CCM has been resolved by removing the plug from the printer into a power strip and attaching directly to the socket in the wall.  Thanks to the Member who posted the idea.

  • Download Messege appears to be blocked because of Norton email scanner

    The problem started occurring a couple of weeks (I guess that the latest updates of Norton/Thunderbird). The program works fine however the aspect of substantive progress is stuck on "download message" and does not all messages to download.
    restart seems to allow a few tracks until it gets stuck again and by disabling the E-mail scanner seems to fix completely, but since the download from a server SSL POP3, I'd rather keep the mail scanner on.

    Thanks for the help!

    I suggest as Symantec Norton to fix them.
    Whatever the safety of what we call this analysis of messages provides. I don't think not analysis of the e-mail is of no practical use at all. However, it is a constant cause problems of downloading, lack of mail, of all being deleted and other useful actions interesting and no Inbox folder.

    Symantec offer deactivation of the analysis of the messages as a workaround to a number if issues their installation product and each such recommendation comes with the warning that your will always be protected, by the scanner in real time.

  • HP Envy 5530: HP Envy 5530 Scanner stopped

    My eye scanner seems to have stopped working or is blocked.

    When we try and copy something on the glass or the scan of the computer, all that comes out is black lines, both on paper than on screen.

    It just happened, without notice.  The light on the scanner bar and it seems to do its thing, but then, it is only BLACK!

    Welcome to the HP community @Carol0524,

    I read the scans and copies of your craving for 5530 turns now with lines black, or entirely all black, and I wanted to answer you with all my ideas!

    Initially, I would think that there is a problem with the hardware within the unit. Sometimes a power reset to ensure a direct connection to outlet (without surge protectors or bars), might help. If this is not the case, unfortunately, you are looking for need a printer replacement, or new unit. If that happens, I'll let HP contact information below to join to discuss your next options.

    • Turn on the printer.
      With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
      Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
      Wait at least 15 seconds.
      Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
      Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
      If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

    Make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

  • 5740 OfficeJet All in One: 5740 printer OfficeJet connects but scanner is not on the wireless network.

    Hello

    I recently bought the above printer and the printer connected most of the time, the scanner becomes more reluctant on my wireless network.

    I just printed a document yet when I try to analyze only one or two seconds later I said it has not detected to scan. I don't know how the device connects - but because the printer connects OK probably is not a wireless connection / router issue?

    The only solution I found to this problem is to restart my system which is quite frustrating and not an acceptable response to long term. When I do this the scanner seems to operate normally, at least for a while.

    I installed all the software from the Web site, including the HP utility - yet I am also told that "computer scan can not be activated" because the software is not found - which is strange, because I installed all the software available.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey there @gggdfsdfsdaf!

    Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

    I would be happy to provide you with some suggestions on the 5740 Officejet and its communication of scanning.  There may be a slight problem with the software.  I suggest you uninstall the HP software.  Once the software uninstalled I recommended to perform a "repair disk permissions" on your Mac.  A repair disk permissions is a utility built into the operating system Mac designed to detect and resolve problems or errors. After that permission to repair disc is finished, reboot your Mac computer and re-install the software.

    To uninstall the HP software, click: uninstall the HP software

    To perform a repair authorization disk click here: repair disk permissions

    To download the Officejet 5740 software, click here: 5740 Officejet full feature and driver software

    After the installation I recommend that you check the software updates on the Mac.  To search for software updates, click the icon "Apple" to the left and click on the "app store".  In the app store, you can click on the "updates" at the top of the window.  Updates install and Hp or a printer.  After the update, you must restart the computer.

    You can also launch scans of an application on the mac, called 'Image Capture'.  For Image Capture click "Spot Light" (magnifying glass) in the upper right of the Mac.  Image capture type and it should appear as one of the first options.  Open Image capture and on the left side of the window should display your scanner.  The scanner can be listed under 'shared '.  Select your scanner and you should have the options and settings on the right side for scanning.

    Please post back and let me know if this worked for you!

  • 7610 large scan, scanner head gets stuck

    When you scan a bulky, the scanner seems stuck right ene come and go.   If I open the lid, it stops.  I scan only the scan with cover open otherwise it get stuck.   Using Mac os 10.9 with HP driver.   Using the inmage capture software.  I think that it is question of hareware.  Any ideas?

    Hello rgjenksand welcome to the Forums of HP.

    I see that your scanner lamp hangs on the right unless the lid is open.  I suggest you perform a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

    I also suggest updating the firmware in the printer.  You can download the update using this link: HP Officejet Firmware.

    If this does not work for you, then it is more than likely a problem of hardwaqre, and your best course of action would be to contact HP directly.   You can use this Web site for information about how to contact HP properly, based on your region: contact HP worldwide.

  • Scanner CanoScan 3200F in Win7 64-bit

    I can't get this working scanner. I downloaded the driver from Canon, although it was not actually a "64-bit" driver, but the page to check compatibility Windows 7 from Microsoft for this scanner seems to indicate the 64-bit compatibility.

    I also downloaded the software "CanoScan Toolbox".

    Driver seems to settle, but no scanner appears. CanoScan ToolBox installs and runs, but no scanners do appear in the 'Select the Scanner' box in the options screen.

    Y at - it a particular order of installation should I re - try? Or something escapes me?

    Any help would be appreciated... Thanks in advance...

    There is no 64-bit drivers for the 3200F for any version of Windows.

    It will not work on 64-bit Windows.

  • Epson v500 Scanner does not work after driver update!

    I recently bought a V500 photo and scanned my first 35mm using Epson Scan v3.7.4 negatives. The colors seemed off so I download and installed the latest v3.7.7 of support to Epson.ca hoping that it might help.

    Following the upgrade of the driver, the scanner has stopped working! Loads of Epson Scan, but after 5-10 seconds, I get the message: "no response from the scanner. Make sure the scanner is turned on and connected properly. If you use the transparency feature, remove the reflective document mat. »

    Then I restored the latest install w / restoring Windows but still could not get the job to scan. I drove back to the pre - Epson scan install date and tried to reinstall the earlier version but still no luck to get scanner work.

    I then followed the steps of uninstall on the Epson.ca support site removed all the drivers and the software with the scanner turned off and unplugged. Then I reinstalled the old version of Epson Scan of the CD because he had worked at the start. I reconnected it the scanner it plug it in and turn it on. But it still does not work! Ditto for uninstall and reinstall with the latest drivers.

    Notebook P7350 using Windows 7 32 bit SP1. Scanner is connected directly on the laptop, not through a hub. I tried all 3 ports USB in the hope one would work, but no luck. All connections between the pc and the scanner seem robust.

    Any suggestions to get scanner work?

    Thanks for the reply of adeline. In the meantime, Epson come back to me when I contacted them again but only after I have disabled cookie blockers in Firefox when visiting their support site. The first time I've done this, and the support form has not sent correctly.

    It turns out that the scanner must be completely turned off and unplugged then reconnected after that driver installed. I discovered one of the records was not too tight that it should have been :-0 if I was sure I had checked it earlier.

    Thanks again.

  • Is there a way to prevent the deletion of a file during CHECKIN services?

    My scenario: I am creating a service that takes the current latest revision and creates a new one, using the same metadata and content. I'm almost done. The lack total that when I called the service (CHECKIN_SEL) the file whose path I provided in the parameter primaryFile:path is deleted. Of course, I can create a copy in the ~ temp directory, but I would rather prevent deletion. I have also observed that the log contains a line:

    (internal) / 6...    Files to remove: /app/domains/content/ucm/cs/vault/document/2001.zip

    I tried to analyze the service and I found the intradoc.server.DocServiceHandler.addFiles () method. This method calls another method, deleteFilesInDeleteList, in which the files appear to be deleted. It is, however, also an event filter, preDeleteFilesInDeleteList, triggered. So I created a filter code to undo the deletion, if certain conditions are met. The code looks as follows:

    public int doFilter (workspace workspace, DataBinder dataBinder,
    ExecutionContext executionContext) throw DataException,
    ServiceException {}
    BinderSnifferFilter.traceVerbose ("PreDeleteFilesFilter");
    Vector v = SharedObjects.getOptList ("dontdelete");
    If (v == null) {}
    return 0;
    }
    String prevID = dataBinder.getLocal ("prevID");
    If (v.contains (prevID)) {}
    BinderSnifferFilter.traceVerbose (prevID + "is confined (-1)" ");
    ((Map) executionContext.getCachedObject ("lockedIDsList")) .put (prevID, "1");
    Returns - 1;
    }
    BinderSnifferFilter.traceVerbose (prevID + "is not confined (0)" ");
    return 0;
    }

    Tracing orders help to confirm that the filter returns-1, I also found this thread:Re: what event of java filter is to remove which mentions the updated object cache of lockedIDsList .

    However, none of this seems to prevent deletion.

    I also tried to find a class that adds the "" files to remove: ' message in the log, without success. "

    Finally, I tried to lock the file by changing the owner/group/permissions in the file system. Curiously, the service has failed (the system could not read during CHECKIN), but in the end, the file has been deleted in any case.

    have you tried to change binder.m_tempFiles? You should be able to change the vector before cleaning module is called.

    Note: I have not tried...

  • LaPastenague, it's grok12.

    You have responded to my post yesterday.  I tried to answer, but somehow, I not give me a reply button.  I have never seen this on Apple Discussions before.  Can you help me understand how to respond?

    There is no answer if you are not connected to the site... but yes thing won't... Welcome to the real world.

    I can try and answer here... If your old thread went bonkers.

    Here is a copy of the post if you want to refer to what it is.

    If you have 5 years of hassle free use out a time Capsule you did very well.

    So, it seems pretty clear that the disc is bad.

    A bad drive would prevent initialization of the TC. It is more likely a failure at the Board level or power supply.

    The average life expectancy is 3 years (if you're lucky)... If you have been particularly blessed by Apple.

    The TC factory reset.

    Universal factory reset

    Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

    NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

    Try and redo the configuration of the computer.

    If she is still unable to sign in or be recognized that simply buying a new.

    I do not recommend if you have problems to connect through ethernet if you use wireless... and try a few times.

    The utility Airport shows a big red 1 next to my Time Capsule, but when I click on if I am told to enter my password, but when I do I like device not found.

    There is a new firmware on... It is more likely the cause of the red dot... It can also cause problems for some people. If you have already updated... downgrade to old new... for TC I would recommend 7.6.1 firmware.

    Hold down the option key and click on the version.

    You can then select the firmware earlier.

    However if you don't have a chance then it will just need to be replaced. Backup to the USB should be ok.
