Scanning resolution

I use Window 7 software.

Just bought an officejet pro 8610.

Is there a way to set the scanning resolution by default to 300 dpi or 600 dpi instead of 200 dpi. ?

Second question: is there a way to reduce the paper version?

I could reduce my old printer, but that a different icon printer to print the page.

Hello

Thank you for using the forum.

Set the scan resolution by default to 300 dpi or 600 dpi instead of 200 dpi.

Yes, you can set the default scanning at 300 dpi resolution.

If you use it regularly, you can actually 'create new shortcut '.

See examples of photo

1. Select "Save as JPEG".

2. Select the resolution (drop-down tab next to the Red dot)

3. create a new shortcut (remember to save!)

Reduce the printed copy:

1. go to "Copy" on the front panel

2. Select the setting (small icon with wheels)

3. scroll to "Resize".

4. press on the icon «Back»

5 copy!

Hope that helps!

First of all, where is the "printer software" to start the scan?

Have tried all this. When I opened the series HP Envy 7640 (network): Assistant of HP printer, I click on "Scan the Document or Photo a" place in the scanning area. No scan dialog box never opens. Actually I tried to reinstall the printer driver. No change. Always impossible to get a scan dialog box. In addition, when I go in the start menu and the title of the series 7600 HP: HP envy, I click on the HP Scan icon. After a long wait, a dialog box appears that says: "Cannot communicate with Scanner", and it offers a few options. The first is to activate the device (printer), and then on; the second, control cables (its wireless operation); the third: try the software "fix." Happy to report that after stopping then on and running assistant printer again, this time by pressing the "scan a Photo Document' results in the appearance of a dialog box to make the changes that I've been looking for.

When scanning resolution is poor, how can I increase it to 300 DPI max... How to save picture under. BMP it currently only gives three options, PDF, OCR, or JPEG

Well well after literally hours of Googling being impossible to find anything at all on this unit or any other site, a friend suggested that I open the area to set up scanner on Mac itself... and to my amazement after a little digging here, I was able to find the settings for the CIO and the file type save high-resolution BMP images.
Why hell HP do not display anything in their pages help or on the LCD of the printer to indicate how do, I'm not sure. I'll be happy to send a screenshot to anyone who needs this info.

  • OfficeJet pro 8610e: scan resolution 8610

Amazon listed specs say 1200 dpi scan resolution but direct scan from printer to option max drive (without printer connected to the computer) on printers the inch touchscreen is 600. Is it possible to 1200? Otherwise, this model printer is the best res scan options - thank you

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Well that being ignored somewhat in the User Guide , I suspect that 600 dpi restriction is due to the way in which you use the function of scan - in other words, you are bypassing the use of the Full Feature software which would benefit from the 1200 dpi capabilities available in the print driver.

For example - the Windows version of the software full feature offers the Printer Wizard utility, which, in turn, provides an analysis of Document or Photo program.  In this procedure, you can control the IPR analysis.   I think you could access the full 1200 dpi you're looking for.

Reference and example of scanning of Document or Photo:

Install the full features software - printer

Yes, this method is a little extra work if your goal is to place the final scan on a USB key files.

I don't know the answer to the second part of your request, that, what printer supports 1200 dpi scanning to USB key.

  • HP 5520 scanning resolution

I bought an all-in-one Photosmart HP 5520 printer that supposedly "up to 1200 x 2400 dpi. However, despite the fact that the scan to computer option is expected to have an option to change the scanning resolution, one such option does not seem to exist - in the General settings or in the scanning settings. Can anyone help on this?

    Hi Boxmoor ,

The printer will scan at higher resolutions through the HP software on the computer. Since you use Yosemite, however, is not full software functionality available right now, but you can scan through the Apple software. This software should also allow you to scan at higher resolutions.

I have a document with the specifications of the printer.

Specifications for HP Photosmart 5520 e-all-in-one and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5520 series e-all-in-one printer.

    Analysis of the specifications:

  • Photosmart 7520: HP scanning App iMac change scan Resolution

I use the HP SCAN application to scan from my Photosmart.  I like it because it allows me to crop to size limited.  However, it seems to only scan at 200 DPI.  I want a higher resolution of scanning.  I know how to change it in system preferences, but HP SCAN does not use these settings.

How to adjust the application within HP SCAN scanning resolution?

OK, in the HP scanning software, click on the Scan button.

From there, click on the arrow down () or the button view details to view and edit the parameters of scanning, including scanning resolution.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8620e AIO - maximum scanning resolution

According to documents from HP, 8620e for HP OfficeJet Pro maximum scanning resolution is 1200 dpi.

When delivered softwere is used for the definition of the parameters of scanning available resolutions are:

    75, 100, and 300 dpi

    1200 dpi is not listed!

Please indicate how to set scanning up to 1200 dpi resolution?

    Best regards

    Ratko

    Hi Ratko,

300 DPI is the maximum resolution for the automatic document feeder which is set by default, so the higher resolutions are not listed.

The HP Scan software configured the source that the glass flat rather the default option of the ADF, then you should see higher resolutions of scanning in the drop box.

    Kind regards
