• Latitude E7440 display goes black / white after "starting Windows."

  I suspect that he is an out-of-the-box issue (like the power button lights, either), but maybe I'm missing something... This particular unit fired upward, as planned and took our standard image. Somewhere along the way (probably during one of its reboots), I noticed that the screen is out. Turn down and the back didn't solve it, or don't have reset the BIOS. Dell diags run without problem and I can start Windows in Mode safe... but whenever I start Windows normally, it removes after "Starting Windows" flashes by.

I have closed an E7440, placed another on top of it and proceeded to the image of this second unit. And "in white" is the second display unit... hit the light of the power button, and as a bonus. It worked as planned, when I moved this unit to another place, in order to tap into a flat HDMI.   I had automatic updates and at 03:00 it will download new updates whenever they come. I guess that 2/10 have been installed the updates that came out and when it automatically restarted my computer, everything was normal on the login screen, but once Windows started, 3-4 seconds and it went black and white. It is not my monitor or my video card, I tried 3 OTHER monitors on this and I own two myself. I need to restore both before the update was installed for my screen to return to the color... Anyone else having the same problem or knows what is happening or how to fix? Would appreciate the help. Thank you!

  There are a few things to try, that might turn back to normal settings.

  In display settings, try to change the option of colors up to medium (16 bit) and see if that makes a difference. Change to when. You can also change the resolution settngs. Sometimes just by changing the settings can fix the little quirks.

  Have you tried to update video card driver? If this isn't the case, that give a try. You can use the automatic update via the Device Manager, or just go on display card manufacturer's website and download the latest version of the driver.

  This is not a problem of IE.  Most likely a symptom of the use of the OS high-contrast mode accessibility option.   For example try to press LeftAlt + LeftShift + print to pass this parameter.

  I wonder if anyone can help. have never used a forum before bare with me if I don't give all the details, but the basics are as follows:
  Windows update two days ago and since then freecell, solitary and lonely spider are black and white.  Mahjong, purble place etc. are fine colors and graphics are ok.
  put online to update the graphics drivers and computer says that all drivers are up-to-date.  also turned windows has on and outside and checked freecell etc. on games and uninstalled and reinstalled. no luck. "computer is a dell desktop computer and is about six years old, but I regularly updated and try to"keep a tidy ship.
  I hope someone can help

  The system restore solved my problem and after that I had to do it AGAIN today, I went to Windows Update and changed the settings so that the updates would not automatically download and install on my computer.  It is certainly a problem with one of the Microsoft updates.  I just hope that they recognize that one and let us know as soon as POSSIBLE!  I'll be very selective on what updates, I am hosting in the future!

• Screen black with visible only mouse - SafeMode or normal won't start.

  Step 1

  Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged that may prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.

  1 boot from theDVD
  2. Select the language
  3. click on "repair your computer" on the install now screen
  4. click Next in the System Recovery Options screen
  5. click on Startup Repair
  6 follow the instructions on the screen.

  Restart the computer and see if you manage to boo on the desktop. If the problem persists, try Method 2.

  Secondly you said something about white and yellow writing on the black screen, where did you see that?
  It is not by using special software such as Microsoft Office Word?

• HP Pavilion dv4 screen black 1428dx / refuses to start up

  I have problems with my laptop (HP Pavilion dv4 1428dx) the last thing I did was paused, then cameback and tried to wake him up but it would not start up. All the lights are on, but the screen is black and the only thing that I hear the fan moving. The caps lock and num lock keys have a light flashing, not really sure what it means. The power light, battery light comes on, but the hard drive LED is not on. This computer is nearly 3 years old and I've never had a major problem like this until recently. If anyone has a solution that I'd be happy to appreciate them.

  The blink codes State caps lock/caps lock Num because it might be just the caps, just the number lock lock, or both.  If both blink, then it counts as a blink every time.

  If it flashes once and a break of 3 or 4 seconds, then tells the CPU POST test failed.  A processor failure usually requires a new processor, but some have been able to open Notepad for reinstall process and apply new thermal paste to get the problem resolved.

  If it is under warranty, I would advise you contact HP for service.

  If it is out of warranty, then I would contact HP to get a quote and compare that to the cost of a local PC shop to weigh your options.

  2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

  I suggest to start the computer in safe mode and check if it works very well.

  To boot to the desktop in safe mode keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start in safe mode select and press to enter.

  Try this:

  paint the text to the x - y, y-1 in white

  paint the text to x + 1, y + 1 white

  then paint the text in black to x, y

  This should give you a reasonable facsimile of what you are looking for.

  Hi all

  I have a Toshiba two years C850D-10W, which came with Win7 Premium. After several months of flashing notice suggesting to upgrade to Win10, I decided to give it a go. I was stupid enough to not not to check if my phone would support these updates, and I have not discovered too late that it would not be on the official website.

  This subject happened is that during the installation process, to halfway through (maybe 43%) I got a message saying that the system should reboot several times. The problem is, it never exceeded the stadium to restart, and the system is now in a loop by which underscore fixed unblinking appears in the upper left corner and stays there for about five seconds. Then the system restarts and underscore appears again, and so on for ever, no logo Toshiba, no chance to select Safe Mode, nothing. I can enter the BIOS menu and I tried to boot the system from the backup DVD I did when I bought the computer so I could go back to Windows 7 but it does not work, the system just does not recognize. The HARD drive is fine, I got out and opened it on another computer as if it were an external hard drive and all the files are still there, but I can't do anything else.
