  • USB mouse and keyboard stop working after I have install Windows Update KB2913431

After installation automatic Windows Update KB2913431 (Win 7 Enterprise), the computer seems to work very well, but my mouse and keyboard stop working.  The option of automatic repair after that start with F8 does not work.  He said that the error is "unspecified".

The fool is that it has created a constellation of intermittent problems when I try other options to get these devices to function after the update.  The questions I will of unpowered USB ports, grateful Windows and install the drivers for USB devices, but then do not recognize their (and are not), random BSOD, restore points invalid system, random boot failure, which causes discs to randomly stop working properly, closed randomly , à... I think you get the idea.

I think it must be a driver problem.  I passed through the Device Manager and uninstall all hidden devices.  I have updated the drivers for everything that has an update available.  I tried to disable all, but Microsoft services at startup and in the list of "services".  I've always been unsuccessful; However, when I can get it to successfully restore to a point before the update (none of the automatic restore points work correctly) it seems ok.  It will sometimes seem to work after I applied the update, but then go haywire shortly after.  I am convinced that it is not a hardware problem, given that the prior update restores (when they actually cross without failure) work very well.

I went through countless articles in the knowledge base and tried all the suggestions I've seen, other than registry cleaners because I had a bad experience with this earlier.  I tried so many things that I lost count and the memory of some of them.

I reached point is never install the update (an option that I prefer not to use) or creating a clean Windows install on another drive (an option that I prefer not to use, but I'm a little more friendly to).  I already started to back up files to prepare a clean install, but I reach out one last time before I pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions you have!

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft community.

I see that you have a hard time to work with the mouse.

    1. What is the brand and model of the mouse?
    2. The problem occurs on any program or when you perform a task in a particular program?

Try these steps and see if that solves the problem of performance of your mouse.

    Method 1:

You can check that the mouse buttons are set correct.

Refer to the section "Change how the mouse buttons works", from following link to learn more about the same:

Change the settings of the mouse

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-mouse-settings

    Method 2:

You can uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the mouse on your computer, to do so follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. click Start, click Control Panel , and then click Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    b. in the Device Manager, look for the device under the mouse and other pointing devicesand then double-click the device name.
    c. click on the Driver tab, and then click uninstall the driver.

    d. restart the computer and it will automatically re - install the drivers of.

  • Problem Scrollpad and keyboard for T61

    Hi all

I recently tried to upgrade my ThinkPad T61 scrollpad driver (my scrollpad is the ThinkPad UltraNav pointing device) because the new Mozilla 4 was not to let me use the RPO aside the scrollpad to scroll to the top and bottom. Now it works, but unfortunately, I have a worse problem - if I hold one of the keys on the keyboard, I can't move the cursor-it is just stuck in place. I also can't do a restore of the system for a reason, and I have tried many of the previous restore points, nothing helps. Another weird thing is that I don't seem to have this problem for the first minute or when the computer starts up and I first see the desktop icons, but programs of load upward, the mouse/keyboard does not at the same time as I've written before.

    Any suggestions?
