Scsi.ConflictRetries

I'm running on more than one host ESX 3.5 U5 and connected to a San for 3Par, HP EVA 3000 3Par is instruct change me my default value 80, maximum of 200 Scsi.ConflictRetries (referenced in this article VM: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1020366 ) until my OS SAN upgrade is complete next week.

I am trying to determine if there are negative side effects to this change. How this will affect my HP SAN?

Thanks in advance for an overview of this.

Salvation of the brain,

Increase Scsi.ConflictRetries will not have the negative effects of your San.

The option is used to set the number of attempts THAT HBA is to acquire the lock on LUN for every write operation done to the SCSI.

Please consider giving points if this information is useful.

    What a mistake I made here? ;(

    thx a lot

To retrieve the values of a hash, you must use the key as the index in the table table.

Attached to your script has been fixed.

Note that you do not have to call the cmdlet Get-VMHostAdvancedConfiguration every time, you can call it once and store the result in a variable.

The script is attached from the SW forum has problems with hooks.

  • Iomega Zip Drive old (PC) for Mac SCSI drives

I came across my old Iomega Zip 100 Drive I used with my PC in 1999.  It is a SCSI drive.  I'm all about Apple and Mac during the past 10 years or so.  I have access to a Windows computer with, I think, Windows 98 on it. Is it possible to get pictures off the Zip disks?  I don't want to get a SCSI to USB cable and the ruin of my Mac. The Mac would even read the saved files.  No, I don't know how I saved them.  I just pictures on disks.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    PMZF

Are you sure it's a SCSI disk (it's relatively rare to find SCSI on a PC)? There was an external parallel version of the Zip 100 drive. The connectors are DB - 25 for both versions, but the SCSI model has a special icon of SCSI ID and termination switches. The Iomega cables parallel and SCSI had different colors. Do not confuse the models. Do not plug in a parallel to a SCSI port, or vice versa.

In any case, if the Zip drive in question in fact can be successfully connected to the Windows PC (98), you should be able to read the discs, Zip it. There are a few methods that can be used for a transfer to a modern Mac. Is - that computer has Ethernet?

What exact model of Mac is this? You have access to a USB floppy drive (which can be connected to a Mac)?

It would also be possible to locate a Zip USB drive that could be linked to a modern computer. It would be a matter of moving the Zip disks only.

  • Configuration of CMS SCSI External Hard Drive DIP

Hello. I have a friend with a problem - it loses the settings of the DIP switch on his external hard drive SCSI SD80 CMS so he will no longer work with his Mac LCIII as before. It can not locate the manual showing the correct configuration for the LCIII. Anyone know what they are? Any help would be appreciated.

What is the SCSI ID setting? Any SCSI ID 1 to 6 can normally be used, so that another device has not the same ID 7 ID would be reserved for the computer Macintosh, and ID 0 (in general) for the internal hard drive. Information on a disc similar to http://www.artisantg.com/TestMeasurement/65450-2/CMS_Enhancements_SD60_External _ SCSI_Hard_Drive (found through a random search) possibly could be of some interest?

  • Is there a driver for El Capitan ATTO scsi?

I just upgraded to El Capitan.  Now my old scsi card is not seen by my Mac Pro G5.  I installed the driver of ATTO, but it is NG.

Just to clarify, you have nothing not a G5. The G5 was the last Apple PowerPC CPU used before moving to Intel. As a model of the Tower, which would have been a PowerMac.

Anywho, the driver has probably been disabled by the Protection of the integrity of system of El Capitan. This is to prevent access applications unsigned to the system folder or the rogue injected code in applications installed by OS X.

You may be able to get it working again. This tip helped with some .kext drivers who install in the system folder.

Restart and press command-R to start in Recovery Mode. You can also start on a flash drive, that you created an installer full bootable El Capitan. Launch the Terminal from the Utilities menu. Enter the command:

    csrutil disable

    Close Terminal and restart normally.

    Install the ATTO drivers.

Boot from recovery again. Only, this time in the Terminal, enter:

    csrutil enable

    Then once again restart normally.

  • SCSI/RAID Host Controller, reports "tv_ConfigMgrErr39".

I ran the reliability and performance monitor on my laptop and the SCSI/RAID Host Controller has been highlighted that does not properly.

    * Symptom: * _Device drivers marked as corrupt. _
    * Cause: * a device has a configuration issue preventing it from working correctly.
    * Details: * the device, the SCSI/RAID host controller, reports

Would it be the result of some kind of change due to an update or

I posted this information in the Microsoft forum and was advised that submit a post here can find me an answer and also to check the appropriate driver downloads. My computer is telling me to contact the manufacturer of your device to download the software, but in its properties, there is no listed manufacturer. I can't get the Toshiba site for a download of driver that I have no idea what this component is and have no idea where to start!

I would be grateful for any advice (relatively uncomplicated!) and a gentle nudge in the right direction of a appropriate driver.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

To be honest I don t know what you re talking. It would help if you could post some information like your laptop model.

39 error code usually means that there is a driver problem so I updated the driver. You can find the latest version on the Toshiba site.

  • Restore of VSS snapshot fails due to the incompatibility of serial SCSI

    Hello

I have a win2k12R2 with unique VDisk Vm. A triggered a quiesce VSS on this virtual machine operation and taken a snapshot of the VDisk. Clone a virtual machine of the instant Vdisk and the virtual machine is not booting. If I'm not using VSS quiesce virtual machine, repeat the experience, the virtual machine is unable to start. Since the tedious debugging, finally found it's due to the incompatibility of serial SCSI. Looks like VSS is striking SCSI serial number in the BCD. When the virtual machine is restored from this VDisk, at startup, VM makes a SCSI inquiry to get the serial number of the drive. If the n series shadow does not, VM is not start. In this case, as long as the disc is instant, hypervisor return different serial number.

The question is, where does the VSS stores this information to SCSI serial number? Is there a way to avoid this? I use the hardware vendor. I need uniform application snapshots of this virtual machine. If I am able to take consistent snapshots of application and not be able to start the virtual machine that, it is useless to take snapshots :). I'm stuck here, any suggestions how to avoid this?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)
