SCXI-1100 filter capacitors

We have a number of modules SCXI-1100 with the filter capacitors installed in C1, C5, C9 and C10.  All plants look like they were made at the factory.  He is, or was it never (circa 1996-2000), an option to order the SCXI-1100 module with installed capacitors?

We will be deploying a number of different configurations with this configuration, so it would be easier if we could order like that future acquisitions, rather than install the plugs for each build.

Thank you.

Hello, CoryM!

After investigating a little further, it doesn't seem to be a command option for the filter pre-installed C1, C5 and C10 capacitors. Note, however, that C9 looks like it would have been a capacitor factory, since only 1, 5 and 10 (among others) are left free for modification of customer. This is noted on page 26 (2-9) of the following PDF:

User Guide NI SCXI 1100 - the user-defined input filter capacitors

This is the case, you will need to install them for each module. Please let me know if you have any other questions on this point - I'll be happy to help you!

    Hi Michal,

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you trying to calculate the accuracy of the SCXI-1100 module, but you do not have the data specification for the calculation, or you don't know how to calculate the accuracy?

If you need performance data, you can consult the technical data sheet 1100 SCXI. If you want to calculate your accuracy of the device, I can recommend you following KB: How can I calculate absolute precision or the accuracy of the system?

I hope that this is the info you are looking for.

  • using scxi 1303 and 1100 to measures of pressure

    Hello

I use the scxi 1303 and 1100 to measure the voltage inputs. Specifically, I have 8 voltage at 0 - 10 v and 9 measures of pressure to 4-20mA, converted to signals 1 - 5V with a 250 Ohm resistor.

My arrises now question about pull upward resistance. I don't have resistance inserted (as the manual leads me to believe that they are not necessary). My arrises now problem of a difference in the voltage across the resistance (the same as the display of pressure transmitter) and the voltage displayed by Labview.

    For example:

    Voltage = 1.47 V

    LabVIEW display = 1.18 V

1303/1100 Setup requires it resistance of 10 ohms, or don't you think that something is happening?

Thank you and please forgive me if this question has been addressed!

Good news... After much stable, time and tears I have solved the problem. I have indeed had a hardware issure. The module SCXI-1100 I used was broken somehow and was replaced by a functional SCXI-1102.

Thank you for helping me think about troubleshooting ideas!

  • get the MAX to recognize the SCXI modules

Hello, try to keep it short, we strive for Labview 5.1 running on the XP machine, until we get new set kit to date in the future (current NT machines fail). I tried NiDAQ 7.1 8.1 drivers with a PCI-MIO-16-4th card in a Dell optiplex 755, and the current sticking point is to configure the system via MAX to specify the type of chassis and modules. Modules are not found automatically, and entered manually the results into the slots being declared empty, on a test of the chassis (chassis SCXI-1001). SCXI modules we are SCXI-1100, SCXI-1162HV, SCXI-1124 2 x and 2 x SCXI-1160. What should I do to make this work? Different driver? I'm not at all familiar with the inner workings of Labview!  Thank you.

    Rob,

Thanks for the reply. The problem was more the cable SCSI detaches from the end of SCXI chassis (these connections seem very inclined to come drifting). The modules then self populated, and the system works now. The system worked very well for ten years, but the old Compaq PC fail now and we have only a few replacement Dell, but of course they come with Windows XP, while the ran Compaqs WinNT, it has so been interesting trying to get Labview 5.1 running on the new boxes with the old cards DAQ until we get funding for new cards / Labview 2010 / Teststand. Problem solved for now!

  • Information SCXI

This is the first time I work with platform SCXI. We have a SCXI-1000 chassis, a 64 mio pc HAVE, a 32 entry SCXI 1102 and a block of endings 1303 for reading signals from thermocouples 32. Now we have the opportunity to purchase a module SCXI-1100 and 1300, one block of endings. Could they to Thermocuple read? What is the difference with 1303 1102 and 1100, and 1300 respectively?

Thank you very much for your answer. I should say: "that's all".

    Thank you once again

  • SCXI-1600 vs term of mass OR-6251 (SCXI-1000 chassis)

I just need a mental health check using an SCXI-1600 instead of a NOR-6251 module.

    I have a SCXI-1000 chassis with 3 cards: (w/1300) module SCXI-1100, SCXI-1104 (w/1300) and SCXI-1126 (w/1327)

I'm sampling 62 channels of these cards to 1200 samples per second, using LabVIEW 2011 on Win 7 (32 bit).

We previously had a PCI-6040E to connect to the chassis, but we must move on to a USB interface.  I tried the 6251, but we have serious space and mounting issues since that a portable Setup.  I would use one SCXI-1600 module instead, but I'm afraid of all the severe warnings recommending a 6251 instead.  Are there problems I'll meet?  This seems to be such a basic configuration.

The 1600 allows me to save space the 6251, its power supply and cable 68 pin linking the two.

    Hi CoryM,

Since you are using Win 7 (32 bit), I plan no compatibility problems. We strongly encourage our customers to use the 6251 because it is a new product with more features, but if you need the SCXI-1600, that should be good as well. I hope this helps!

  • How to use HX85BA sensors with NI DAQ system?

    Hello

I'm trying to connect two sensors of Omega HX85BA moisture to my NI DAQ system. The sensors detect moisture, barometric pressure, and temperature, using three 0 to 10 VDC positive outputs @ 10 mA or less, with a common thread of output. I have a SCXI-1000 chassis with two modules SCXI-1100 cards, 1102 b and a single 1102. Map of 1102 uses a block to connect SCXI-1303, while the other three cards use some 1300 years. The system will mainly use thermocouples for temperature measurements, but there will be other types of sensors, such as the two HX85BAs.

The manual of the product for the HX85BAs is not very clear on how to connect the sensor to the system. Terminal blocks each have 32 channels with the positive and the negative screw terminals, it doesn't connect three positive sensor outputs to individual channels, with the municipality of output connected to each channel? It will work installation with SCXI cards I have, or I will have to purchase different cards? The system will be expanded to include at least 4 cards in a separate chassis SCXI 1000 more, is not a problem for the purchase of different components to adapt to the HX85BAs.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi BBalmforth,

You can connect the sensor to the SCXI-1100 1300 TB. Connect the positive output of CH + and CH - CHSGND. Common output wire must be connected to GND.

  • How can I filter the noises of thermocouple using a TC-2095 and SCXI - 1102c?

    Hi all

I currently have four TC - 2095 s connected to the SCXI - 1102c inside an SCXI-1001 chassis cards. These thermocouples are floating and I get a good amount of noise (400 Hz 3 phases and same 60 Hz noise) when we turn on some equipment such as fans, and fans. Using this current set up, how can I filter the noise? Or I would need to put in place a new hardware configuration (e.g., the SCXI-1102 cards)?

    Hi RALoo,

The 1102 C has a lowpass filter with a cutoff at 10 kHz frequency, so you will not be able to filter into the material with your current configuration.

Your first option is to use a software filter.  LabVIEW has several functions that do this. More information can be found here: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvanls/filter_vis/

The second option would be to change to SCXI 1102 cards as you suggest.  The low-pass filter of the 1102 was a cut-off adjustable to 2 Hz frequency, which will stop the noise of 400 and 60 Hz don't affect your readings.

  • CSP 1100, flashing "Check print cartridge", although both cartridges are fine, will not be printed.

Hi all, I have a problem with my old all-in-in-one. I tried to use the copy machine on some files I need for my review at the end of the month, and it went thru like 10 pages and then stopped in the middle of a page, flashing "check print cartridge". I removed the black cartridge and it finished copying this page but only the parts of color... that are a couple highlights with a red and green pen, so it's really funny - I points out but no text. Large.

The cartridges are new, they were replaced about 2 years ago and not used, since then the printer has been idle since it does not work on Windows 7, only the scanner does, therefore, there is no way for me to read error messages. I replaced the cartridges because he said that black was an incompatible type or something like that, even if SHE HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED, the error just popped up by itself. Now I bet that if I install it on a computer with XP it will give the same exact error. The cartridges are a real substitute for HP, they are clean, I cleaned the connectors too, nothing. When I cleaned the connector this error first popped up on the old cartridge and the cartridge started working again, but when the error does not arise in a second time no amount of rubbing contacts would get working again so I bought a new. What seems to have been the same fate.

Because I can not install the drivers for the printer I can't put that simply use the single color cartridge, so the thing refuses to print anything now. And I left the funniest part for the end - I did the self test thing with now cancel and press color copy. The test page doing very well. He is a minor, scratches on the colors, but black (which is the problem cartridge) is PERFECT. If it works, but it simply refuses to copy my files. I'm puzzled.

If they are any use to you here is the codes on the self-test page:

    PSC SERIES 1100. S/N MY3CNG92BSB0. FW R0025XXNXFH1. USB VID:03F0 PID:3011.

508 PAGES. (see, it was not yet used a lot) LAST ERROR A00000EC. (I think this might be useful) OKAY NVM. SERVICE ID 0. MRGN 1.

    CBA 2.0 MB. DAVID S 0001. ALTM 6272. 243E62E LEFT. 1C2B126 RIGHT.

I'm good with electronics and I think it must be dismantled, it is refilled and resoldered, but I don't have time for this now and I need my files because I need to study on their part and I give the originals back on Monday. So is it possible to force the copy as the self-test page only?

The fixed. I decided to take it apart because I did before aligning the scanner, I was somewhat familiar with its internals. I removed the power supply and found the damaged and also very hot main filter Cap. I have had no direct replacement so I have attached another 150uF with son Cap until I buy one that fits inside the PSU.

The copier works now, and it is also not more of this shrill noise that it used to have. I have to use only color cartridge, but at least I can get my paper work done. Most likely there was a power surge and due to the bad capacitor it obtained through food and broken logic in the black cartridge.

BTW, I read that if you get MRGN: page 1 of the self-test it means you have a bad cartridge. Well, it always reports MRGN: 1 with the only color cartridge but it does not copy now, whereas before you replace the capacitor there not even wanting to pull the paper with the only color cartridge. I also managed to get install on a Vista computer, but since it runs with a generic driver there is absolutely no useful reports either (not not even the ability to set the configuration of the cartridge to color only, but he seems to have figured it out on his own now).

In any case I still have to buy a new black cartridge... or better, a new printer.

EDIT: I just tried again the black cartridge and guess what? He spits the alignment page, I scanned it and now it works fine. Now, I'm sure it was a bug in the firmware triggered by bad power supply filtering. Well, here's to hoping it REMAINS fixed.

  • half-wave rectified filter circuit/oscilloscope measurement

Hello everyone, I hope I can get help on this fundamental issue, I'll have. University online, with which I will not help me, so I hope that I can quickly get assistance here.

I have the myDAQ NOR, I have to build half rectified filter circuit with a resistance 2.2kOhm, I also use the multi-sim to confirm the measures of waveform. Everything goes well on Labview multisims Tektronix Oscilloscope compared to before I connect a capacitor 100uF my comparison heres:

The model is just the Diode with a series resistance 2.2kOhm, I'm not sure if the analog inputs to the LabView Oscilloscope are configured correctly this is the air I get:

This satifies my simple comparison on the Multisim circuit, since I came here for a few hours to play with probes analog input, I know that something is wrong out of these measures, I get.

With a capacitor 100uF in parallel:

I think the question is how I inputs analog and STILL plugged, I'm not sure that this is where I would really like some help or any type of assistance. Once I get this set up right, I'll be able to take measures for the frequency, load DC, P - P Ripple voltage ripple and then move to a full-wave rectified circuit. I just started a course and received the myDAQ.

    Henrik_Volkers wrote:

Compare it with the current specification of output of your myDAQ

Here is a link to the specification: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/373061f.pdf

Henrik hit it on the head.  The myDAQ can, at most, out 2mA with analog output.  So, with a 2.2kOhm charge, which puts you in 4.4V without the diode.  The led will also require an amount of current.  According to my estimates, subject of 1mA (your pic is ~2.5V, divide by the 2.2kOhm to get ~ 1mA).  You will see only that on the positive side of the sine wave as the diode blocks all the negative side.

The lesson here is to make sure that your outputs have enough power to do what you want.  You can go to get a simple op-amp from digikey and use a follower of tension for editing the current upward.  You will probably need another power supply or two (+ 12V and - 12V) to power op-amp.

  • SCXI and USB 6210? Getting started...

    Hello

I'm looking to get an online data collection system and had a few quick questions of SCXI signal conditioning high-performance...  First of all I have is 1 chassis SCXI-1000, SCXI-1121, SCXI 1180 and 1100 SCXI modules assorted.  I also have a few blocks of different endings, SCXI-1300 block and a 1320.

    (1) by section "what to start' in"the SCXI chassis user manual"everything only I need is hardware of SCXI chassis (in my case the SCXI-1000 chassis), a 120 VAC power chord and a computer.  However in the ' what you need to get started section "of the manual"Getting started with the SCXI"I need also a SCXI-1200 or"Hardware DAQ"module  So my question is this, can I set the SCXI-1000 chassis directly to my laptop without any additional hardware?  I feel, I need something else, but want to make sure...

1 (b) assuming I need a material additional DAQ to start, I can use a NI USB 6210 somehow?  I checked the manuals and little is said about SCXI.

    (2) neither manual mentions a controller, but the SCXI Advisor shoot one.  They should say if all I do is collect data, not active control?

    Thank you

    Mike

    Mike,

There are two options for you to get your SCXI system operational. You will need either an M series or a card of E-Series you connect to your SCXI system or you could focus on the NI SCXI-1600, which is a controller for your SCXI chassis and allows you to connect your laptop to the controller via a USB cable. This controller will operate similar to the E-Series and M-series cards.

We also offer a couple of PCMCIA cards which allows you to integrate the SCXI system with your laptop. It comes from the NI DAQCard-6036E, and NI DAQCard-6062E. Unfortunately, your NI USB-6210 is unable to be used as a device for the Acquisition of data for your SCXI chassis. The list DAQ cards which are possible to use with your system can be found here on the tab 'controller '.

In addition, we have an old manual SCXI of starting you can find here:

  • Incorrect SCXI all the playback channels after running for more than 30 minutes

I have a SCXI-1001 module. I use a thermocouple module (1102, breakout box 1300), input analog (off 2, map of 1100, 1300 in small groups), analog output (1124 map, 1325 breakout) and a relay (card 1160, breakout 1324). I'm using labview 2009. I created my channels manually to read all channels, I need about 1 task for entries of thermocouple and analog, 1 analog and 1 for task task for the output relay (total 3 tasks). Each task comes into contact with the SCXI area in a different section of a timed sequence. I read all my channels with precision for 30 minutes but then all of a sudden they stop reading accurately and all thermocouples read the same incorrect value as well as all analog input channels. I can't change the output channels either.

The problem occurs more quickly if I increase the clock frequency. There are no errors showing when this problem occurs.

What is an interaction of hardware failure or a software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also need to resolve this issue quickly because it is delaying the test.

    Thanks for your help

    Tim

Thank you all for your response. I managed to solve the problem. It was a problem with the start of the task and to connect the clocks for different tasks. I've included only a single task to start my unstable code in the source code as for posed multiple startup tasks. However, I started my slave tasks (analog and digital outputs) before starting my master's work (analougue entered). This seems to have solved the problem. I intend to go more far by adding clocks at 2 slave atsks and linking them to the task of master.

I used the sequence as part of documentation. Each links to sequence number to another sheet that I have has a flowchart to say what is each part. As you say there is no need to put in a sequence and do so limit labviews own data stream. I'll remove the sequences and put my documentation on the codes in the code directly because it is made in the examples of labview.

    Thank you for your help

  • SCXI - 1104C

    Hello

Got a system running with a SCXI module - 1104C. I have now some errors of measurement that I never had before.

As emergency equipment, I have a SCXI-1104 (without 'C') module...  It is directly compatible with the system? Can I Exchange

the 1104C for 1104 to eliminate the demultiplexer fault?

    Beck777

    Hi Beck777,

You can find the manual for the module SCXI-1104 and SCXI-1104, on the link below:

    http://www.NI.com/PDF/manuals/322147b.PDF

If you read the frequently asked questions, he explained that the only difference between the two is the cutoff frequency of the filter. He also says that NEITHER-DAQ 6.7 or a later version is required for the SCXI - 1104C whereas you need NEITHER-DAQ version 6.5.1 or later for the 1104 ordinary. If you have the correct version of NOR-DAQ, it should work, but beware of the cutoff frequency. You may find yourself with a lot of noise on your signal.

    Kind regards

  • low pass filter in labview 7.1

    Hi all

I would like to ask about the low pass filter.

Is it possible to make a simple low-pass filter without any supplement on Labview 7.1.

We strive to connect a micro-switch in a DAQmx device, but the thing is, because the switch is somehow Earth-connected to an engine step by step, each time the engine is running, it will have peaks and spikes were interpreted as logic 1 in the labview. Since we have no treatment signal Add ons in the labview, we try to do it ourselves.

    Thank you

    Although suggestions are significant

But the solution has not been reached. So actually, we tried to change the analog to digital input in our DAQ hardware. I hope that the - top-of-10V-spike not to spoil our DAQ hardware. And it turns out OK. In the digital input, spikes has appeard not even once, and we think it does.

@ t06afre: thanks for the material made up the suggestion, but since it is a testbox.foobar.com that we, his isn't going to be easy to put in engines and unlikely capacitors supposed to do. The cable twisted pair is not a bad idea though.

We thought that the software solution filter would be the best (less time necessary and less messy) but is not as we have not thought of material assistance (R - C circuit, duuh) filter.

And on the 'minimum pulse duration' setting, is not only applicable for some DAQ hardware? CMIIW

  • Is - what antialiasing does not work for the scxi 1141?

    Hello

uses a chassis PXI-1052 with a DAQ 6052E for dynamic analysis.  I use a module SCXI 1140 cascading with a filter of 1141 , SCXI and 1120 SCXI D amplifier. My goal is to achieve low noise, filtered data. I have set up my gear so that data travels in SCXI 1120D ahead in parallel with the SCXI - 1141 and in parallel with SCXI 1140. In short, I want to test if the smoothing works. I generated a sinusoidal data with a frecvency of 600 Hz rates and sample of 1024 and I got an alias of 424Hz. The filter is disable. The alias does not disappear when I activate the filter with a cut-off of 500 Hz frecvency. What's wrong. What is antialiasing working for this module? My channels is set to traditional NI-DAQ title.

    Hi Avi,

I'm having a hard time trying to reconstruct how samples are defined and how your signal is actually routing through material.  Is the 1120D on the front of the 1141 and then the 1140 is in the slot next to those?  You said there were many things in parallel and now I'm confused.  Thanks for the clarification!
