Seagate hard drive

Hi all. Recently, I took an internal hard drive of 500 GB ST3500320NS from my recorder and put it in my desktop computer. My PC detects it in the BIOS and in Device Manager but not in my computer. In my computer, only the hard disk with the Windows 7 operating system is displayed. Please notify. I tried the Seagate sea tools for diagnosis, but there is no change.

If you format the drive then you delete the partition and destroy the video files.

Display of files requires the operating system located on the hard drive.

If your choices depend on what you plan to do with the hard drive.

Best regards

ERICO

  • Seagate Hard Drive Firmware Update for the drive model: ST1000LM024

I have (HP Pavilion dv6-7180se Entertainment Notebook PC). All the drivers for this model installed correctly except the drivers Frimware (Seagate hard drive Firmware Update) and (PLDS Optical Drive Firmware Update). the first one says "this hard drive model is not supported. Model = ST1000LM024"but my hard drive came from the factory, so what is the practice solution to install this driver? images .view of problems:

    This is to seagate:

    and for PLDS:

    Need help. Thank you.

What mean of these messages, is that these "Firmware updates" do not apply to material in your specific computer. The two "Seagate Firmware Updates" are respectively for the hard drives of 250 GB / 320 GB and 500/750 GB hard drives. Your computer comes with a 1 TB hard drive, which is not subject to updates of the firmware. The "PLDS Optical Drive Update" is for another drive to CD/DVD only installed in your computer and also does not apply. There is no further action to take... Do not attempt to install these updates of firmware, because they do not apply to the hardware in your computer.

  • Prevent Seagate hard drive possible breaks down!

If your computer was purchased in 2008 and early 2009 and provided with a Seagate hard drive, you should read the next document in support of HP:

Prevent disk errors not system on computers with Seagate drives

Basically, under certain conditions the firmware of the drive can fail. It may work well for some time, but then crash later because certain conditions arise on the PC.

To avoid a possible crash, download and install SP40966 from HP.

Once opened, it will tell you if a player needs updating.

If you have a player who needs the updated firmware, it will prompt for a blank disc.

He then burns a disc that you leave in the drive and restart.

It updates the firmware automatically. On some PCs/versions, you will have to perhaps enter and change SATA to IDE in the BIOS - I have not. I used the update on an IQ506 and the update went well.

My problem has been resolved. I downloaded the update yesterday and installed without any problems. The closure of the issue.

  • Portege 3490 - new Seagate hard drive (20gig) - cannot install OS

I bought a second hard Portege 3490 and the hard drive was broken. I got a 20 GB drive to spare by Seagate (model 92011). I have a USB and PCMCIA cdrom disk. I downloaded disk hard Seagate tools/drivers installation and launch the setup and set up all partitions etc..

Whenever I try to install windows (XP Pro, 2000 or even 2000 Server), I insert the cd it works through the first step of the loading of the drivers etc, then as soon as it gets to the part where he says is now "setting" start ", where he would normally the first reboot, I get a blue screen error, it is usually the"Inaccessible_Boot_device"error message, but sometimes He won't say. I get the same problem with XP or 2000. The only CD that I have are version OEM of Windows 2000 or XP pro, not specific Toishiba.

Please can someone let me know what this means? Is the disk hard not compatiable (my dealer says Toshiba it should be), or y at - it problems with the drivers, etc?

Any help would be appreciated, I was stuck with this for centuries and make me desperate. The machine has no warranty dealer wants £150 just to take a peek. I'll happily pay cash for a working solution.

    Hi Rhodri,

Check your BIOS settings to make sure that your list of boot device is set correctly and in the right order. Maybe it's that the system tries to re-boot during installation, but the bad device.

A few months ago, I bought a new computer with Windows 7 installed. I use a 1 TB Seagate external hard drive to back up. This worked perfectly for the first time, but has since has suddenly stopped working. While he worked, he always appeared in 'Computer' as the player 'I '. Now, when I plug into a USB Port, your hear connected used sound, but drive 'I' is no longer present. I also tried other brands of external drives, but none of them work! HOWEVER, if I plug what this either in the USB Port (MP3 player, iPod, USB stick, GPS etc.) they are all show like 'I' Drive and perfectlty work. I talked to the retailer, Seagate, and an Expert on the Radio Station on a show that deals with computer problems. Any suggestions I received, I tried, but nothing fixes the problem! • External Seagate hard drive sharing trouble!

I have an Ext. HD Seagate that I used with my PC with Windows Vista. Now that I switched to Mac, I'm unable to add files to the HD. When I right click and go to get information , I look at sharing & permissions and it says "you can only read. Anyone know how to open the Ext HD to read and write?

    Thanks advance!

Without doubt, the drive is formatted in NTFS. If so, you should not use 3rd party software to access the drive or you will have to reformat the drive Mac OS extended (journaled). If you still want to use with Windows software, you will need to format in FAT or EXFAT. Copy the files to a different location before reformatting.

NTFS - Format file - formats allow Macs to write to Paragon NTFS

NTFS - File Formats - will allow Mac to write to-Tuxera

  • Seagate hard drive is bad. warranty of 5 years, but seagate says I have to go through oem?

I have a Pavilion P6277C ({personal information deleted}) which was carried in the shop (aka my home: job from a friend/family). The user States chkdsk runs every time you start and takes 40 minutes to connect to windows if it opens a session.

Shooting in car, watch TEST INTELLIGENT, fails, a lot of time:

Car has a warranty of 5 years on this subject, but RMA on Seagate website said I need to contact OEM for repair. Given that this device is only one unit of one year warranty, how can I contact HP to get a replacement under warranty on this faulty drive? Or we enter the scenario "Yes, he has a 5-year warranty, but your computer is covered only for 1 year and you're out of luck", where the end result is that I buy a detail with a real guarantee WD drive?

Here are the specifications of the HP Pavilion p6277c desktop computer. This system is old more than 2 1/2 years and usually with a warranty of one year. As the drive is an OEM unit it does the HP standard warranty of one year and no longer justified. I met the problem and the player has not been justified by the manufacturer or HP. best bet is to replace the bad disk with a new disk of detail that carries a full warranty.

  • External hard drive Seagate

Since the upgrade to Sierra, my Macbook will not recognize when my external 4 TB of Seagate hard drive is connected (no problems before the upgrade).  Another problem is that when I click on the Finder icon in the tray, opens a finder window, then whole screen turns black momentarily, then returns to the top with all the icons, but the finder window is now gone.

You must update the Paragon NTFS driver. You can find the updated version on the Seagate support site at:

  • The airport no longer recognizes my hard drive Seagate

I have a macbook pro mid-2010 with the latest operating system. For months, I was able to access a Seagate hard drive via the airport. After attempting to import pictures into my library of photos on the external hard drive, the app won out, and suddenly he could not find the hard drive. My AirPort Utility application still showed the drive hard, but with a yellow "!" triangle and said she had lost its connection to the server. My wifi works, the airport still works. My hard drive works when I plug it into the USB port on my macbook, it just no longer works as part of the airport.

    Any suggestions?

At this point, I would say that you do a ' default ' reset on your AirPort base station. Then set up again for the two goals of networking and to share the USB hard drive.

  • Windows Vista Driver Seagate Ext. Hard drive not recognize

Hello: I have a "push button" five years external seagate hard drive. Vista support applications for this unit - implementation and applications - but when I go to back up my hard drive to laptop (windows vista OS) may not perform the function because of driver problem. I contacted seagate and they said that their hard drives is not software, and there is a problem with the recognition of windows vista driver. the seagate works fine with xp. need help. is there a patch for this problem download?  Thanks, ej.

    milkprod,
Can you tell me what the model number is the external hard drive Seagate that you try to make it work?

Here is a link to the Seagate external drive Troubleshooter - problems of detection of the Windows Vista operating system - http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?locale=en-US&name=ext-ts-vista&vgnextoid=694d8b0e50e73110VgnVCM100000f5ee0a0aRCRD.

You can also try to remove software and / or drivers currently installed, remove the disc, then plug the drive back in and let Vista install default drivers.

If none of these things work let us know what is the model number of the drive and what version of Vista are you using and we will be able to immediately help you.

  • Error reading from disk on startup, but no problem when I remove my external hard drive from Seagate. Solution?

At startup, windows does not load and, I don't see a black screen says Disk Read Error press Ctrl Alt Del to restart. Upon restart, the same problem occurs. I managed to work around this problem by unplugging all my external hard drives USB, but this problem has never happened before.

Recently, I laid out my laptop due to a faulty internal hard drive. Windows has been reformatted and a new internal hard drive has been installed. Since then, the above mentioned error occurred and I'm not too sure if those problems are linked, but my Seagate hard drive works fine until I fix it after windows has marketing. Yet once, it never happened before that my laptop has been repaired.

    Appreciate your help.

    Thank you

    Hello

to power on you will see a way to get into the program installation/bios or boot menu command at the bottom of the screen

It would be F2 or delete etc to get into the setup of the bios or F12 forBoot order

go into the Bios and see if the USB boot is enabled a see also if it 1st in the boot order

If this is to change the boot order or disable USB boot depending on your Bios options

    Hello

My Seagate hard drive recently started clicking and then crashed.  The current hard drive is (was) a 750 GB 7200 RPM SATA 3 G (3.0 Gb/s).

Should I buy the same one or upgrade to 1 TB

What size hard drive do I need (3).

    Thanks in advance

    Hello larrynoz

Yes you need a 3.5 HARD disk and there is no problem with you the upgrade to a 1 TB HDD or more. Once that's getting a HARD drive clicks strong it is usually a Goner.
