Server 2008 R2 GPO do not update Windows 7 security policy - Audit policy

I have an old Server 2008 R2 Standard (SP-1) 64 and 25 workstations Windows 7 64,.

On the server I have Group Policy Management, default domain policy, Computer Configuration, Windows configuration, security, local policies, Audit policy, all parameters together for the pass/fail (account, directory, logon, object, Prov., etc, etc, etc.) cela fine checks at the server level.  GPMC looks good, resulting strategy game is good with the default domain policy in all areas.

25 workstations become the settings of the GPO server for story/password to the password policy, etc. and all other settings.

25 workstations do not receive local Audit policy success/failure as the server, all the "Auditing No." and not able to allow to manually set or get updates from the Server GPO, not the gpupdate/force.

When done desktop computers get their information to audit of Server 2008 GPO, I thought that this came from default DC GPO for the audit

Thank you

B.

    Hi Dippity,

In C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution, find and delete the content (but not the folders themselves) recordsONLY the following two: downloads and the data store.

And what CAN help solve the problem if it is caused by an update incomplete or stuck - but it is not guaranteed to solve the problem of update because at this point we really don't know the cause. It is a cause, and there are others that this procedure allows to solve.

If this does not work, try this: click Start > run > paste the following command into the Run dialog box, and then press ENTER. Wait for the success message.

    % SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32. EXE, % SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\WUAUENG. DLL

If the above does not help, then I recommend the following in order of presentation:

Try the system update readiness tool:

  • Server 2008 R2 installation will not configure on DV7 series laptop

I installed the Server 2008 R2 on a laptop DV7-7012nr. I upgraded the memory up to 16 GB. I deleted all the partitions, and then divide the hard drive into 2 partitions. Partition 1 is 7 442 Go Windows, Partition 2 is 256 GB server.

When I install, windows server 2008, in dual boot, it will not complete the configuration for the material. This leaves me the choice either reinstall Windows server 2008 and to come back to the same error or return to windows 7.

How can I get a dual boot for a full installation of Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition or Standard on my DV7-7012nr laptop?

After spending 5 days with installing Server 2008 R2 64-bit on this laptop, I contacted the HP Support. Technical support HP and after 4 hours and 7 different technicians, I was informed that they can not help me with the installation of Server 2008 on this laptop. • Server 2008 rdp client does not keep by default local printer

Question: Windows XP workstation connects to the client terminal server 2008 for an application. The local workstation XP has a based LPT printer. The local printer is selected to be used through the RDP client and can be seen on the Terminal Server session. The central issue is that the RDP session will not keep the local printer the default XP workstation. It can be chosen and works, but never stays after the end of the session and reconnect or even log out of the session and you reconnect. It never remains the default printer, instead, it takes the default value of the server administrator. 1 of 7 other network printers.

Points: The XP workstation has a printer LPT laserjet 4000 series as is the local default LPT. I followed a Tech Note "http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;302361" which seems to have nothing to do with this topic.

Note: The server is standard with clients more Terminal server 2008. All the network printers according to works, and other customers to keep printers default network without problem.

Annex Note: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverTS/thread/2a6944a1-d1cb-492c-b413-75dcbe7dad9b is linked. I have this strategy enabled for all other customers. I guess what would be necessary, would be a work around.

It would be only for development purposes.

No, you would not be able to join the host (Windows 7) for Windows Server 2008 R2. (Chicken and eggs).

    OPTION A:

Visit the Microsoft Solution Center and antivirus security for resources and tools to keep your PC safe and healthy. If you have problems with the installation of the update itself, visit the Microsoft Update Support for resources and tools to keep your PC updated with the latest updates.

    OPTION B:

You see the effects of a hijackware infection!

NB: If you had no installed anti-virus application or subscription has expired at thetime the first machine was infected and/or your subscription has expired since or the machine is not been kept fully patched in Windows Update constantly, don't waste your time with any of the following: Format & reinstall Windows.  A repair install won't help!

    Otherwise...

    1. see if you can download/run the MSRT tool manually: http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

NB: Run the FULL scan, not analysis FAST!  You may need to download the MSRT on an uninfected machine and then transfer the MRT. EXE to the infected machine and rename it to SCAN. EXE before running it.

2A. WinXP-online Windows Live Safety Center scanner 'Protection' (only!) in Mode safe mode with networking, if necessary:http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/howsafe.htm

2B. Vista or Win7-online this scanner instead: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm

    3. now run a thorough check for hijackware, including registration required before a proper Court, logs don't here. DON'T SKIP THIS STEP!

I can recommend the assistance of experts available in these forums: http://spywarehammer.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?board=10.0, http://www.spywarewarrior.com/viewforum.php?f=5, http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cleanup, http://www.bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.phpand http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.

  • Cannot install printer on Server 2008 because Onenote is not installed?

I am trying to install a printer on a Server 2008 computer.  But when the installation checks for the printer, it stops and says, Onenote must be opened first.  I'm not planning to install any version of Office on this server.  Why am I blocked?    If I use the add a printer utility box, he wants to add a PostScript driver, and of course, I don't want to, I want the PCL driver and it doesn't give me that option either.
