Service Packs 1 and 2

After reformatting my operating system Vista of H - P, what I need to install SP 1 and 2 or just SP 2?

Hello

You must install SP1 and then SP2.

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

For later use, as it will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30

Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299

Vista SP2 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468

Vista SP2 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17669

  • I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe.

    original title: error with ehshell.exe

I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe. Could you help me?

This problem exists since the 1st Media Center. SP2 and SP3 had a difficulty, but it is obvious that it doesn't always. The same problem still exists in Vista today with a lot of other carried over from XP. System restore would work, but you do not have any good restore points so reinstall an operating system seems to be your only option.

You probably don't want to do an OS reinstall you need for Media Center, but since it does not at all, you might want to play then remove the Media Center updates and or SP3 and reinstall them.

Hi, I have Windows Home Version 2002 and advises him to download the Service Pack 3 and decided to download Internet Explorer 8. It wouldn't let me download IE 8 and I got a blue screen. After apparently loaded, when it restarted check disk page it came and I noticed that a lot of pages in IE have been truncated. Now Internet Explorer or Firefox will load. Only Aol 9.7 will work. The update finally began to work with SP3, and while loading, the computer turns off. I did not disable Avast because I didn't know how. Please help it is very upsetting. It seems that every time that I update something it doesn't quite work.

because sp3 is out for quite a long time your system has been widely exceeded and can have several problems.

  • What happens when you reinstal XP OS with the cd that takes me to service pack 2 and I'm at service pack 3

I bought TurboTax and downloaded, but can I have downloaded previously because I was unable to install due to the previous installation.  After that 2 hours of phone support with TurboTax including screenshare, they stated that the problem lies in the registry. It was damaged and I had to reinstall my OS.

What happens when you reinstal XP OS with the cd that takes me to service pack 2 and I'm at SP3?

I finally found my OS reinstall CD, but it's waaaay above my comfort level... what I do now.

Frankly, if TurboTax is causing this much trouble, I would use another company as the income tax act.

Of course, you can reinstall Windows. It's a shame, if that's the only way to solve this problem. :-(
For later use, it is sometimes necessary to download the installation file, physically disconnect from the Internet, set up a clean boot (using msconfig startup diagnosis), reboot and THEN install the large program (and then undo the clean boot, reboot and re-connect to the Internet).
  • Can I both service pack 2 and 3 using my computer?

I have the two service pack 2 and 3 given that this computer is new to me I do not know if it had two service pack 2 and 3. Should I have them both? The computer is running very slowly and im trying to find the problem. They take a LOT of space... Thank you

If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 3, you don't need Windows XP Service Pack 2.

But before you delete something, please point out what exactly you look - because if you have installed SP 3, you should not see anything on the Service Pack 2 (except if it is the file named standalone download WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2 - ENU.exe).

In fact, after that SP has been installed, you need more file standalone download for Service Pack 3 or the document (WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3 - x 86 - ENU.exe).

    ·        SP3 is cumulative, so that users can install SP3 on Windows XP SP1 or SP2.

    ·        You can run the package of SP3 update on any edition of Windows XP SP1 or SP2. For example, you can run the package to update SP3 on a computer that is running Windows XP Media Center Edition with SP1. The exceptions are for XP Embedded editions.

    ·        Windows XP SP3 is for x 86 only versions of Windows XP. The x 64 editions of Windows XP were serviced by Windows Server 2003 SP2. For more information, go to Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2.
