Share data between a PC host and NEITHER sbRIO-9626 connected by Ethernet

Hi Sophiec,

In fact, shared Variables are a good way to share data between a host and a target. However, this is not the only way for data sharing.

On the follow-up document, you will find different ways to do it: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/48D244EC86971D3986256BD4005CCC28 as:

Shared variables
TCP
UDP
DataSocket
Other methods of Communication

I hope this will help!

I would like to know if there is a way to share data between two applications of MXML or more?

Using the class SharedObject can operate only in a single application, but if you start a second request, this SharedObject does not its value (zero) already set from the first application.

I remember correctly, there is a setting to allow work between applications. Also you must be sure flush() to save the data.

    Another option is LocalConnection.

  • What is the best way and to share data between a server and a Client app?

    Hello

    I'm trying to communicate a Client-Server application.

In fact, I already have a simple data transfer via TCP/IP. However, I don't know yet, if TCP/IP is the best (and by that I mean, better, faster, safer, etc.)

    How to do.

What are the cons and Pros between TCP/IP, STM and shared Variable?

Do you recommend another type of communication in addition to these 3?

    Thank you

    Matt.

In my view, that a general question cannot have a response says.

Then, there is no way 'the best' for sharing data between a client and a server app.

I like to use TCP/IP, but sometimes (when data loss is not critical) I use UPD (quick and dirty).

I generally avoid shared variables, especially on embedded devices.

  • Unable to connect to use Windows XP mode on a Virtual Machine, cannot share files between the Virtual Machine and host

Because of the need to run some XP programs, I ordered Win7 Pro and installed a Virtual Machine with XP Mode.

Managed to get it going somehow, but does not connect to my home network (can't see any other computers, which seems to be common with the host of Win 7, but here, I managed to install quick links to other computers - they will not work in XP Mode), even if the Internet connection is working perfectly.

In addition, I can't find a way to share files with the host country, drive C appears to be different from that of the hosts with no common points (where it is currently stored beats me).

I can access a USB key, but only at a price to make it unavailable to the host and the attempt to release his capture when running XP Mode failed.

  • How can I share files between Windows 7 Pro and a Mac with os x?

I have Windows 7 Professional and my colleague had a Mac with os x installed. We are physically in the same room, sharing a wifi connection. How to share files between two computers? That each of them should do on his computer?

If you display links, please check beforehand that the procedure for the mac is here. I found in the internet or other of the procedures for older systems Win or network only between Win 7 PCs.

    MOSH

Of course, you can do it easily. In fact, the implementation of sharing on Win7 last month was almost as easy as it is on OS X.  ;-) I find that the snow leopard has the same bugginess of show Windows machines only randomly in the sharing of the Finder section, as it did in Leopard, however. I usually connect to Windows machines by opening a window of Finder and using go > connect to server > smb://Windows-computer-name instead. In the Win7 box, I have the network to the desktop icon (you can get this to customize > change icon).

On OS X, make sure you have checked in the file sharing system preferences > sharing. Click the Options button, and then select "share files and folders using SMB." Add the shared directories as you wish.

You must create accounts/passwords user on the Mac and Windows 7. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop in Win7 (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this.

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

You can find options to logon automatically for OS X in system preferences > accounts.

On Win7, go to control panel > all items in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You do not want to use Homegroup.

Discovery of plug in the network
Open the files and printers sharing

Configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, Configuration File and Printer Sharing ON will take care of that for these machines, and if you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

OS X Firewall is done in System Preferences > Security. Click the lock to make changes, and then click the Advanced button to ensure that SMB sharing is allowed. If you set up in the share pod, it will be.

On Win7, create shares as desired. I usually just share the Public, users desktop folder and all hard drives of additional data in the system. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Interruption USB Raw: flow of data between USB Raw Device and Labview!

I do the USB communication between device (Microcontroller) Labview and USB RAW. I did all the things like the raw driver OR USB and I am able to get the 8 bytes using getusbinterrupt.vi, but my application requires continuous data transfer between pc and microcontroller, inorder to achieve that I put continuous loop in the microcontroller, so it transfers the data of continuos on pc, (in this case e.g.0 to 255 and again from 0 to 255 and so on.) , but I'm not able to get increment of 1 as written in my program, instead of that I'm getting increment of 5 to 10... is it because Microcintroller is very fast as my pc? If so how can I get continuous data without breaks...

I enclose... graphic instant with output vi this jump of the variable data... I run my vi continuously on mode...

Like, I would also like to write to the device with labview, can you also suggest for this also? I read messages like:

Run a quick code continuous mode is completely unnecessary.

In your code you continiousely who and unregster events, it takes a while, maybe the following will help to improve the code:

I don't know, but you might be able to reuse the event.

  • Exchange of data between the main VI and sub - VI

It is my first attempt to build a comprehensive program and hope you can help me.

The idea is to load a set of data and to perform several calculations and operations on them, find themselves in the creation of a report file.

What I want to do is to build a main VI which contains the data, and several sub - vi to do the math, dynamically loaded in a subgroup of experts (for the simple user interface). I thought about this architecture because I'm sure I'll have to change the calculation of VI, and I don't know how I'm going to need, so I can just add an another calc VI to the plugin dir and load it. The thing is, I have to keep moving data back from the main VI to the Subvi and maybe even between sub - vi. Is there an easy (or not so hard) how? I thought about queues, but sometimes the data is to be sent to more than a subvi, and I can't have a queue for each. The idea that I get is like a network producer-consumer mode BOX: the main VI produce some data and all those interested in this data use. Then they send the results back (as a "producer") and all stakeholders in the response it consumes.

Attached, is a "skeleton" of what I intend to do.

There are several ways you can accomplish this. First of all, you can use the Start Asychronous Call, which will provide a component of connector for you. So, it is easy to wire the reference to it. You could also implement a global functional (also known as a motor of action) to access the event reference. It is the approach we use for our shared events. If you have lines between the main VI and ths Subvi you to format a particular message reference. However, I don't think that this approach would correspond to what you are doing.

  • Share files between iMAC & Windows Vista and 7.

I have a 20 "iMac with Snow Leopard 10.6.1.  I used Bootcamp to install Vista Business ed. on part of the iMac. I use Vista Bs. ed. sp1. I also have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1545 Windows 7...

How to share files and look at these different systems?

    1 person needs an answer

You can share files between all of these systems. It is difficult for me to what you wrote if you want to share files with Windows 7 in OS X machine, but I have included this information in case you do. Because Vista is installed in training Camp, I have only included Win7 OS X sharing files and not Vista-OS X sharing files since you can't use both at the same time.

    On Windows

Excellent, comprehensive, but easy to understand article on sharing files/printer under Vista. Contains information about sharing printers and files, and the folders:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    (C) in Vista, turn on password protected sharing. In Windows 7, go to control panel > everything in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You don't want to use the residential group unless you have all Windows 7 machines. In sharing advanced:

Discovery of plug in the network
Open the files and printers sharing
Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

Create accounts of users and corresponding passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

Vista/Win7 - ORB start > Search > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    On OS X

On OS X, make sure you have checked in the file sharing system preferences > sharing. Click the Options button, and then select "share files and folders using SMB." Add the shared directories as you wish.

You must create accounts/passwords user on the Mac and Windows 7. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE.

  • The distribution of applications and data between the disk SSD and HDD

I recently installed an SSD in my Macbook Pro (late 2011) instead of the DVD player. I want to install OS X on it, by replacing the current OS X on the original hard disk, I will continue to use for storing files. How should I allocate its use in car? OS X and applications on the data files on the hard disk of 500 GB and SSD?

The first series of instructions will partition and format the newly installed SSD disk then install OS X on it. The second block will help you configure OS X on the SSD with your data on the HARD drive.

Clean Install of El Capitan on a new disc

    1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime, press Command + Option + R until a globe appears.
    2. The Utility Menu appears in 5 to 20 minutes. Be patient.
    3. Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
    4. When loading disk utility, select the drive (generally, the entry Out-bumpy) in the list aside.
    5. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility. A panel will fall.
    6. Set the GUID partition scheme.
    7. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
    8. Click on the apply button, then click the fact when it is active.
    9. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    10. Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

How to use an SSD with your HARD drive

If you want to use an SSD as boot with your existing HARD disk drive, as the disk 'data', here is what you can do.

After installing the SSD, you need to partition and format the SSD using disc utility disc. Then install OS X on the SSD. Once installed OSX boot from SSD. Startup disk preferences to set up the SSD as the boot volume.

Open the preferences users and groups. Click the lock and authenticate you. Or CTRL - RIGHT click on your username account list in the sidebar and select Advanced Options in the context menu. You will see a field called "Home dir: ' on the far right, you will see an Edit button. Click on it. In the file dialog box, navigate to the location in house now located on the HARD disk (disk HARD/users/user_name /.) Select the folder, click the Open button. Restart the computer, as shown. When the computer starts, it will now use the home located on the HARD drive folder.

Another more technical method involving the Terminal and the alias is discussed in depth here: using OS X with a SSD and HDD - Matt Gemmell configuration. It's my preferred approach because I can choose which records of the House, I want to on the HARD drive and I don't want to. For example, I like to keep Documents and library files on the SSD because I frequently access their content.

Make sure that you keep the bootable system entirely on your HARD drive where you need it.
