  Why run server applications and Server database on both real virtual server?

  He told me it is recommended to run the applications (modules) server and the database server separately.

  I'm trying to implement a system that detects changes (for example the insert operation) in the database.   I downloaded an application example in BLOG of FRIENDS and follow the steps which the listeners of notifications to the database.
  Both requires a privilege "change notification" in the database so the privilege of change notification, I added to my user db.
  When I run the application it properly registers listeners to the db with the method 'registerForDatabaseNotifications' notifications
  Adds instances of DatabaseNotificationHandler as listeners. But when I inserted a line in the table,
  It does not reach to the method "onDatabaseChangeNotification", as provided in the example.
  
  After this failed attempt, I tried niallcblogs post, followed the steps to create and update a chart according to the emp and dept
  iln SCOTT schema tables. But once again the notification does not reach to the method.
  
  I use Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 and access to the HR schema on a remote connection to our Oracle database

  Well, if you can't ping your server db machine machine, how you expect your db send notifications of change? :)
  In one of my previous posts, I described my test scenario (which is more complex than yours) and this work when the firewall is disabled (or configured correctly :))
  So, check (or disable :)) your antivirus and firewall software/hardware.

  Then you need id'ing to the application level. Fortunately, Oracle supports these (technical) applications.

  For example, CLIENT_IDENTIFIER seems potentially useful.

  Ive installed essbase and planning 11.1.2.1 64-bit on a 64-bit windows xp machine. Installed components such as specified in the documentation of the instalation. But EPMA server does not start.
  
  I was able to connect to the workspace and to create an application, but the application library failed to open. Library of dimension also. It has something to do with the server of EPMA.
  How to start the server, all additional to install components? Apart from the regular components must be installed for planning.

  database is 10.2.0.4 and upgrade to 11g rel 2
  
  Our current environment is 2 DB on 10.2.0.4 RAC node
  CRS on 11g R1
  ASM on 11 GR 1 material
  
  database is in environment Linux OS and Sun/solaris OS application, i, e R12
