Shared blackBerry Smartphones input stream is broken on OS 5.0?

Hello

I have developed a player for using JDE 4.5 that has always worked for me.

Now, I wanted to test the same OS 5.0, but SharedInputStream seems to be broken on OS 5.0. It always returns-1 for the second reading on the http call. Can someone help me with this. This blocks my release that reading does not at all.

Thank you

Sona

If it is set at 6.0. Should use the circular buffer for 5.0 phones

  • BlackBerry smartphones my 9900 is broken!

    Hello

    I have a bb 9900 and all of a sudden, it makes that restart. It stops, restarts, and turns back on itself and then after a few minutes, he does the same thing.

    I tried to look for a software update, but it is not yet available.

    Someone help me please!

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    In fact, before you start trying a refill of OS, I recommend you try this sequence... Note that during throughout the entire process 4h15m, your BB must be directly connected to a good charger (not USB from PC, not a cradle):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

    This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

    It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charged battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

    The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem. Carefully note please that 'new' and 'know' are not necessarily the same things. Although rare, a 'new' battery could certainly be defective. On the contrary, the easiest (and cheapest, btw) method to perform this test is to find someone with an identical BB which has no problem... trade in batteries and see what happens.

    Good luck and let us know!

Anyone else have this or know how to fix? I can't find anything anywhere on the tech support site about this... which is strange.

    Hi and welcome to the forums...

    No, I've not seen this bahavior but looks like that you need to remove the battery when the phone is running and restart. Have you tried this yet?

  • Lets run the multilingual method and input of blackBerry Smartphones

    I've updated the 7.1 os and it took me to multilingual method and input. I had once managed a whole upward. in any case, it seemed now missing on the phone, and on the desktop PC does not show language. I did remove the OSI and reinstall, the the same problem. I want that it multilingual and other language input method. Any suggestion? Please take note.

    OK... that now makes sense... the automatic method detects your BB and the level of operating system installed, but is not able to download correctly what it needs from the Internet to continue. And the Red Star means that there is an update, he wants to offer you, but again he has trouble to download what suits him.

    So, what you need to do is to defeat the automatic method and force instead of things. The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

    • http://us.BlackBerry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    • If you want to just reload your current version, you can access your carriers download portal and get the same exact package you are already running
      • KB23393 How to check the model number and the version of the BlackBerry device software on a BlackBerry smartphone
    • But if you want to go for an update, you can see what your company has, or you can dig into all of the companies that support your specific model BB number and compare versions of each provision.
    • Also consider this information as you choose your BB OS package:
      • KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

    4) remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB

    If you chose to update your BB OS, then the software should immediately offer the bundle of BONES that you have installed on your PC, before you can do anything else. If, during the process, your BB votre BB a '507' error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

    If you have chosen your BB exact same OS package that is already running on your BB, then you should be able to proceed with the installation language you want (assuming, based on the location of KB, you have installed the right BB OS package that includes the language of your choice).

    Do not forget to save.

    Good luck and let us know!

    Welcome to the forums, Guido!

    Three words: don't DO IT!

    There is a problem with this update Assistant e-mail that RIM is aware and work diligently to correct.

    In the meantime, you can update your e-mail settings via the web AT & T BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) client att.blackberry.com or with the following method:

    From your browser, go to mobile.blackberry.com.

    Select your country.

    Go to share > Email.

    I hope RIM (and AT & T) has a resolution/update for this problem soon!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Storm2 - error of Japanese text input

    Hi all

    I have to answer emails on a regular in Japanese and on my Storm2, I get an error when the input languages. I get "entry system error. "System is restarted." and then I do not have a keyboard for a few minutes. I can pull the battery, but the next time I change, the error is back. I did a complete reset, reinstalled the OS, and I tried 2 Verizon OS versions supported. Any ideas? I could spend my turn, just to get things moving!

    OK, I saw the error reported with older devices (pre-Storm2).

    Follow these steps to disable the option of predictive:

    1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options > language.
    2. Below the input Style setting, click Show the text entry Options
    3. Deselect the checkbox for predictive.

    Now, try to change your input language and see what happens?

    Hello IFYCHUKWUNEKE

    Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

    You must perform an erasure of security on one of the device and use a new ID of full BlackBerry on this particular device. It will allow you to use these two as different. So, first make a backup of your device in which you will complete these step and then follow this KB and use a new BlackBerryID:

    I'm trying to remove some languages of my Torch 9850. I recently spent the unit from a torch defective 9850 in a replacement as new from Verizon. Entering BDS V 7.1.0.41, loading Applications gets me only for the applications that I installed from Blackberry World, but it does give me no other options as he used to do the last time I needed to change the language, which was in February, two months ago. I checked for software updates and the BDS and the 7 OS is up-to-date (OS7 v7.1.0.755 platform 5.1.0.553). I repair, BDS installed and installed with no luck. Ideas? Hi mollypiper

    Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

    Have you recently installed a new application on your device? If you then uninstall or undo the changes that you did before this error appeared on your device. Also, try these steps and see if that helps:

    1 - Save your pocket computer.

    I'm new to the blackberry smartphone application development. My requirement is to manage the sms sent from a blackberry smartphone like finding the number of SMS messages sent, the destination not like that. I tried running messagelistener, sendlistener and outboundmessagelistener, but something did not work well. So can someone please help me to solve my problem?

  • Using software update to blackBerry Smartphones.

    I had planned an update last night to demand for 2300 hour British. When I woke up, I found my phone was off and the charger was out of my phone. When you turn on again my phone, he immediately started backup software, which was going well until he started the social RSS update. Due to the fact he did not pay all night, it was not connected to a sense of network, it appears 'Social Feeds 0% '. Unfortunately, I can't leave this screen and so it tried to save social stream without connection for the last 6 hours.

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    First - reduce the size of the font in your messages... the effect is the same as if you had used ALL capital LETTERS, for which this article could be useful:

    Now to your problem...

    (Credit JSanders)

    There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    One:

    • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
    • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failurehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.
  • Reading for sax parser input stream

    Hi all

    I'm coding using JDE 4.6 on BB 9000 with Eclipse Simulator.

    I received several thrusts in my BlackBerry app in succession.  Can be anywhere from 5 to 17 distinct growth of xml data.  I use a sax parser to go through the XML and get into my objects.

    First of all, I need to read the first xml node to see what type of data it is.  Once I know I then called the appropriate sax xml parser.  The problem is that if I'm reading the input stream for the first node in the xml, the input stream gets consumed (i.e. missing).  I now know what it contained, but now I can't parse through the xml data that I don't have an input stream to the sax parser.

    What I've done so far has been to make a copy of the input stream (I made my own copy of the input stream class. So I then 2 input streams.  The first one I use to see what is in the first xml node.  Once I know I use the sax parser to analyze if the second input stream.  It has been working great until now.

    Problems appeared now.  Usually, I make a copy of the first input stream (push) receive very well, but no matter what input streams received after that who could not get copied correctly through my copy of the input stream class.  It gets stuck on this line.

    _copy.write(data, 0, chunk);

    Questions

    (1) is there a way to see what is in the first node of the input xml stream without consuming?

    (2) made a copy of the input stream a good idea?

    (3) any suggestions?

    Here's my copy of the input stream class

    public class CopyInputStream
    {
        private InputStream _is;
        private NoCopyByteArrayOutputStream _copy;

        public CopyInputStream(InputStream is)
        {
            _is = is;

            try
            {
                copy();
            }
            catch(IOException ex)
            {
                System.out.println("IOException in CopyInputStream");
                System.out.println(ex.toString());
                // do nothing
            }
        }

        private int copy() throws IOException
        {
            _copy = new NoCopyByteArrayOutputStream();
            int read = 0;
            int chunk = 0;
            byte[] data = new byte[256];

            while(-1 != (chunk = _is.read(data)))
            {
                read += data.length;
                System.out.println("chunk = " + chunk);
                System.out.println("read = " + read);

                _copy.write(data, 0, chunk); <----------- Seems to stall here every once in a while.
    //          _copy.flush();
            }

            return read;
        }

        public InputStream getCopy()
        {
            return (InputStream)new ByteArrayInputStream(_copy.toByteArray());
        }
    }

    You don't have to pass the input stream. As you note, a Manager do not have (or need) access to it. The parser calls your handler to process the events 'sax', as the stream is processed. The idea is to have your top-level manager only directly manage events until it determines the type of data in the message. (From what you describe, it probably occurs for the root element startElement event of the document.) When the first level manager determines this, he creates a delegated manager of correct type and stores it in a member variable. After that, as the parser continues to send events to the next level manager, it simply passes these events on the delegated manager.

    Once the analysis is complete, the results of the analysis would have distributed between the top-level manager and the delegated manager that he created.

    Assume that your element the document root is 'success' or 'failure', where the two types of documents require very different treatment. The basic idea would be something like this:

    public class TopLevelHandler extends DefaultHandler {
      public DefaultHandler delegate;
      public startElement(String uri, String localName, String qName, Attributes attributes) {
        if (delegate != null) {
          delegate.startElement(uri, localName, qName, attributes);
        else if ("success".equals(qName)) {
          delegate = new SuccessHandler();
        } else if ("failure".equals(qName)) {
          delegate = new FailureHandler();
        }
      }
      public endElement(String uri, String localName, String qName) {
        if (delegate != null) {
          delegate.endElement(uri, localName, qName);
        } // else event ignored
      }
      // etc.
    }
