  Try a reboot.

  Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

  Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

  Isolate a problem by using a different user account

  If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

  From what I found in a search on the web, it is designed to occur if you make your purchase on the site of an Amazon affiliate instead of directly on Amazon.

  If you are shopping on Amazon itself, two thoughts:

  (1) you may have an outdated cookie value. To clear your Amazon cookies (note: this will disconnect you), you can do: while displaying a page on the site, try either:

  • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
  • ALT + t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".

  In the dialog box that opens, you can delete cookies from the site individually.

  Then try to reload the page and add something to your cart. Any difference?

  (2) you have an add-on which is injected in your shopping to try to get a percentage of your purchases.

  Please, try the SafeMode as indicated above and see if that changes anything.

• Try to get Echo shopping list to connect with reminders of IOS

  Try to use IFTTT to get the two to work together. I tried two recipes that are predefined:

  "When I add something to my Amazon Echo shopping list, add it to my iOS reminders as well."

  and

  "When you add something to your Echo, Amazon shopping list add it to iOS reminders too"

  I also tried to create the recipe manually after http://www.cnet.com/how-to/set-up-ifttt-channels-for-your-amazon-echo/#! as the best I could. • My versions of Firefox updates displayed only a few buttons on Web sites. How can I fix this?

  Whenever I have use versions updates to access a website that is interactive, whether a shopping like Amazon or target page, etc., or a page, such as Kaiser Permanente staff or a financial website, the doe page not displayed all the buttons correctly. Some of them are missing.
  I have cleared my cookies and cache and check that Java is enabled and I don't have a firewall or other application that would interfere with Java. I have not tried to reset Firefox to basic mode "factory published" it still is, but before that, is there anything else I should try?

  Try the Firefox Safe Mode to see how it works there. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

• iPhone 6 stops with remaining capacity, battery quickly drains

  I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.2.1 (he was running 9.2 and upgraded again to see if he'll fix it - I am registered for iOS beta test). I can load it at 100%, but the battery quickly led, often going from 100% to 80% more than 20 minutes of use with the brightness set to 50%. The remaining battery life fall randomly 65% to 40% (for example) or will simply die.   On the despair (impossible to find all the answers in this forum and others) and not wanting to drop hundreds on a new phone or have my battery replaced only to find out later that my iOS or some app is corrupting my iPhone, I saved my photos and did a hard reset on my device. I installed a few applications, one of those who are Netflix, so I could test the longevity of the battery without having to interact actively with it.

  The verdict? I watched 2 hours of Netflix on wi - fi with the brightness to 75%, sometimes checked my phone (while ensuring close any app I used), and I was able to get a good 6 and a half (almost 7) hours out of it. This is a HUGE improvement over what I was experiencing, but I can tell the last 30% of my battery drained rather quickly and show bizarre behavior, from 31% to 29% and then after a few minutes of use to 2%, which continued with the flashlight on and shopping on Amazon for a good 10 minutes until it dies completely. Once I plugged it in, he came to 8% immediately and is now sitting on the charger for the price of one night.

  Don't know if this helps or confuses the * out of anybody... but I'll take the improvement so far. I hope that maybe he can get this information to the right person and maybe they can offer additional advice. It's certainly a pain the * to wipe a phone from scratch... but it was that or get a new phone. I hope that someone out there has a solution or has more information to add. Ask me any questions you need. I'll try my best to answer. BTW... This was not mentioned in the post above, but I test several Chargers and cables (not that I think this is important because the battery drain is erratic and not the perception of speed).

• Want 5530: Printer calibrates whenever I turn it on

  I bought a second 5530 want all-in-one printer.  No problem with the first, but it has begun to insist that I have to calibrate whenever I turn it on.  It wastes ink, paper and time.  Whenever I turn it on, the printer displays a message that I have installed a "genuine HP recycled cartridge.  The cartridges that I bought were not labeled as recycled and I only shop at Amazon or Office Max.  Even if they are recycled, the machine recognizes them as 'genuine HP cartridges', so that they are not inferior counterfeits.   I am particularly upset by HP support never return my emails on this topic.  I always bought HP printers, despite the increase in the cost of their ink, because they worked well and were easy to use.  However, I'm about to change my mind.  If a printer stops working correctly, I would expect a direct response from the manufacturer.

  Please get back to me regarding this issue of calibration. Because your HP Envy acted like you have been putting in place for the first time and jumped from the alignment page there is a chance that there is debris in the printer or a programming problem occuring in your printer. Can I please you follow the steps below to check the hardware on your computer.

  Step 1: Check paper path and rolls:

  Can I have it please click here. Once the support document opens, please run through the Solution one and two. Once you confirm that the paper path is free of conditioning or debris, and clean rollers can I please have you go to the next step.

  Step 2: Verification of cartridges:

  Then please click here. Once this support document opens please run through the Solution of two, three, solution and six Solution. This includes all sub-steps under three listed Solutions. If the alignment problem persists after you complete the steps proceed to the last step.

  Step 3: update Firmware:

  The Firmware is programming into your printer. Essentially, the programming is the "brain" of your printer and control that made the printer and how the printer it.   The short "Workaround" to try:

  Go to your Control Panel > display icon > Device Manager >

  Find, right click and "Uninstall", your Audio driver(s).

  Do not delete NOT the driver, just right click and 'uninstall '.

  • Do not restart your computer (yet).

  Next:

  • In Control Panel > Windows Update > change settings > disable the recommended updates... You can add them later if / when you get the 'Important' updates to work.
  • You can click to "Check for Updates" again once, or simply go back to your main "Windows Updates" window and now click on the 'Install' button (on the lower right corner of this window).
  • If the 'glitch' updates, in other words, if you get a red 'Failure' and it seems that one or more of these stupid updates suddenly just not download and start installing like you have said just that he does, click on 'Install' again... Now, the updates should start installing.  If you have some big updates (or many of them), this can take some time.
  • For added security, do not do much other work.  The computer market.  Read an e-book.  Keep an eye on it, but don't make your Facebook session or online banking.  Don't shop on Amazon...  Let the system work on the updates.
  • Wait... wait some more... When the updates are loaded, you will be told that you must restart the computer.
  • Reboot / restart the computer when the computer tells you it's time...
  • When the system restarts, these Audio drivers to reinstall it after that updates install and just as the system finished its reboot sequence.

  I am an American retired to the Mexico and want to buy a system of "HP Pavilion Elite PC m9555la" at our local COSTCO in Guadalajara.  However, it only comes with software and a Vista of Spanish language operating system.  It cannot be reconfigured in another language.  The material is exactly what I want... someone knows how to reconfigure the English system after that I have to buy, other that to uninstall all the drivers and Spanish software and purchase/reload of all versions English from scratch?

  You can shop around for the best price, could even be available for sale at your Costco.  The link above shows that you can buy the disks to upgrade from Microsoft for $219.95 more delivery charges.  And you can check how much would a 'Anytime Upgrade' for your machine by clicking on the links on the screens of the system of your machine.  Locally here, side is AMERICAN, the retail of the Ultimage upgrade version goes for $229 but you can almost always find it for sale for $189 and maybe even less.  You can also shop online, Amazon, etc. at the best price.  Just be sure that you get the latest version which includes Service Pack 1 (SP 1) in my opinion.  And you must ensure that 64-bit disc is provided with your purchase.  I understand that all the current retail packaging for Vista Ultimate Upgrade includes two discs: one for Vista 32-bit and one for 64-bit Vista.  But there's an earlier version out there for sale who understand that the 32-bit disk.

  Edit: I do not think that Vista upgrade apply to other HP programs installed on this system, i.e. software Mediasmart, Cyberlink, HP and Norton.  These programs may have their own language options, but I don't know about you.
