THE BOX AND DELIVERY TO ZERO AND ALL OTHER BLOG ADVICE... Help

Hi JMQ17,

Jeremy M is right... it should be accessible from there.  If it isn't, you may need to re-register some dll files needed.

Try this:

1. click on start
2. Type "CMD" without the quotes
3. right click on cmd.exe and select 'run as administrator '.
4. in the command prompt appears, type the following:

Regsvr32-u "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\sbdrop.dll".
Regsvr32-u "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\wlsrvc.dll".
Regsvr32 atl.dll
Regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\sbdrop.dll".
Regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\wlsrvc.dll".

5 restart the computer.
See if this brings back your sidebar.

I hope this helps!

  • Connect two VMs via the connection to the local network using VMWare Player

So this topic can be posted already, but I'm at the end of the roll, trying to find a solution. I have VMWare player installed 3.1.4 on an enterprise_x64 of Windows 7 system. I configured two virtual machines: OS1 comments: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5.5_x64 and OS2 comments: WIndows 7 Ultimate_x64. I need the Linux server to act as a database server in the system environment, that I am creating. The Windows 7 VM will be the client PC. The Linux server is configured to be it's own DHCP server, so ideally the client PC connects to the field of tht and also follow the Linux server IP address.

I tried all the options of networkign for each virtual computer, but no sem to create this type of connectivity. How to configure the network settings in VMWare Player to make two virtual computers can communicate with each other via a virtual network? (Communication with the host pc is not necessary)

The short answer is to manually install the lack vmnetcfg.exe, Editor of virtual networkand configure VMnet2 without DHCP and host vNIC and then configure manually each virtual machine network adapter to use Custom VMnet2.

The longer answer has already been given so many times that you should be able to find detailed directions, however...

To install the lack vmnetcfg.exe, virtual network editor, run VMware-player-* .exe-e c:\vmptmp go to a command line and then in the c:\vmptmp folder, locate the file c:\vmptmp\network.cab and extract (double-click on the .cab file) vmnetcfg.exe (virtual network editor) file in the working directory of VMware Player usually ' C:\Program Files\VMware/VMware Player ' you can create a shortcut to it and place it with the shortcut of VMware Player if you want to access more easily to her.  This utility is not installed by default is however necessary to turn off the automatic bypass on VMnet0 if the system is multihomed and two or more physical host from the NETWORK adapter is active or you want change VMnet1 and VMnet8 subnet addresses or additional VMnets.

The you must manually change the configuration of each virtual machine's .vmx file in Notepad, change an existing parameter and add another.

    Change:

    ethernet0.connectionType = "nat"

    TO:

    ethernet0.connectionType = "custom"

    Add:

    ethernet0.vnet = "VMnet2"

Note: Regardless of connectionType ethernet (n) shows it should be changed to "custom".

Be sure also to Machine virtual are stop, not suspended and VMware Player is closed when you edit the .vmx config files.

Here are some pictures to show.

Here in the VMnet2 virtual network Editor is selected and is how it should be if you what to use your own DHCP server and the host does not have a vNIC.  You can change the IP address as a result of your needs.

Here's the value VM card network NAT settings.

This is what network settings Virtual Machine map will look like after you change the configuration of the Virtual Machine's .vmx file to use Custom VMnet2.

BTW if you replace the Machine network card virtual settings through the user interface customized by something else then you will need to manually edit the .vmx config file to retrieve.   With VMware Workstation, you do not need to manually install the virtual network editor and should not manually edit the .vmx config file as the custom list box is still present and shows all VMnets to select from.

  • "Lack of function external lvanlys.dll ' when executing EXE

    Windows 7 x 32, LV2009SP1 / LVRuntime 2009

I am trying to build an EXE from a customer code.  They use the analysis library (NI_AALBase.lvlib).

It works well on my dev machine.  When I create the EXE file and place him on a target with LVRuntime on that machine, I get the error:

    Lack of function external lvanlys.dll: Mean_head:C NI_AALBase.lvlib:Mean.vi.

I explicitly added the lvanlys library to the project.  I added the library as a source file in the build.  Finally, I added the DLL itself to the project and as a source for the build.

Still the same error.  The DLL is located in the folder data after construction.  I tried to move it in the same folder as the EXE file and in the system32 folder.  Nope.

I just changed the extension of the DLL to dllx and tried again, and I get the same error, so it looks that it can't find it.

Do I need to register this DLL or something?  Is there a file?

You are an installer of construction or simply transfer the executable file?

If you are just transferring the executable file, make sure to include the folder "data" beside him.

(You can also check if the target computer has the engine execution of std (~ 170 MB) and not only the minimum (38MO).)

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

My computer is VERY slow in all the commands I give.
I also tried to run the sfc (System File Checker command) and acts like he is going to run the program, but then just closed.

Do you have an idea what is happening with my computer and what I can do to fix this?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi deacon829,

You did changes to the computer before that happened?

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, to do this, follow the steps below,

Access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. In the advanced startup options select safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2: If you try to install any application before this program, try to uninstall them.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program

If this solves the problem, you can deduct that the demand is probably corrupted, damaged or incompatible. You can check with the manufacturer of the program for more information.

Step 3: System Restore: System Restore to put the computer's system files to an earlier point in time.

Look for steps to restore of the system in the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

    If the problem persists,

Step 4: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct

  • How to prevent (sidebar.exe) Gadgets to add itself to the Windows startup (autorun) automatically?

I would like to know if there is a way to prevent the application from Gadgets to auto-ajouter itself to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. I have the version Windows 7 RC build 7100.
My motivation is trying to reduce to a minimum the use of system resources when I am running on battery power. Selectively, I removed some programs from running at startup and added a new task in the Task Scheduler to run a script at startup that runs applications only if the current alternative. The only thing that I'm not able to set up this way is sidebar.exe (and I have a lot of heavy gadgets on the use of system resources) because it always adds itself to this automatic launch location every time I start it manually.

Well, it seems I have to use taskkill after all. Or try to hack sidebar.exe to remove the (not sure if it's legal) procedure. Or prevent the modification of the registry key using a package of security software.
    Thanks for looking into this.

    Hi KeithVenable,

Please use the Windows Vista Forums.

Do you find these files on your Startup?

Sidebar.exe is a part of the Microsoft gadgets and gadget software. This file implements the functionality of Windows Sidebar from Windows Desktop. It is found in the folder C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\.

The sidebar contains shortcuts to applications such as Windows Media Player or Gadgets that can be used to display information such as the time system and features powered by Internet such as RSS feeds.

File Sidebar.exe under the above location is considered safe and is not a spyware or virus related.

The mctadmin.exe file name is used by objects that are classified as safe. It is a system and the hidden file. It has not yet been seen to be associated with malware.

Note: However, some malware themselves camouflage in the form of .exe files. Remember that even if many files are still in the default file locations, some files can easily be moved to different locations or change names as many spyware, adware or popup programs do.

I recommend to perform a full scan on your computer and check for infections.

As described in the question, I would say that you re - ask your question in the MSDN Visual Studio forum rather than on this forum. MSDN is watched by other professionals in computing and to developers who use Visual Studio, which would more than likely be able to help.

  • Sidebar.exe

    Hello.

I have an annoying problem with the sidebar.exe : my computer running windows 7 Pro 64-bit and is continuously updated.

I noticed recently that the various functions, such as the opening and closing of applications has become a little slow.

When checking "Process" in the Windows Task Manager, I noticed that the "Sidebar.exe" consumes

about 300,000 K of memory.  This is the description is: Windows Desktop Gadgets. Put an end to this process (right click on it and 'Properties') makes everything back to normal.

The problem is that I have to repeat this procedure whenever I turn on the computer.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you, Joseph.

Microsoft recommends not to use the gadgets because they represent a serious security risk and can allow others to access your computer remotely, run the code, infect, you and your files and more.

It is recommended that you disable the Desktop Gadgets so that the program of sidebar.exe never works.  To do this, right-click your desktop background, point to view, and clear the checkbox for «See the Google desktop gadgets»
