Silent M425dn MFP

I found a quiet setting for "Print Mode" in the configuration of the system. It makes print more silent (but also slower, but I don't mind that). I think that sounds of the printer (tone) as of fools in general (not defective, just its design)... from the fan to the scanner beeps display key. It is also extremely abrupt/rough (don't know how to describe it) when starting to spin the reels to print, which facilitates the peaceful impression. In any case, to return to the impression of calm, is there any negative effects of using it? No more wear on the engines... or less? Reduced life fuser because it needs to be as long, or is it accordingly to accelerate? I would use knowing that it reduced ESP.... my dad has a Home Office and it's in the TV room and the noise of the shot he makes the life of the machine and printing of noise are disruptive (and scary, if I'm just on my computer and it is silent).

Thanks for any idea!

You will most likely find the silent mode will run the engine at a lower pages per minute and so the engines run at a lower speed.

Many current printers have a high pages per minute and with instant heat ovens, you may notice the burst of life of silent film for printing, then return to silence, once the fuser unit cools they pretty well closed fans down to the printers to sit in silence.

Running more slow pages per minute is something that they are intended to do, if you run media non-designated as a 'standard' is to say color, special perforated, sizes the printer adjusts its speed to meet the media and they can operate in this mode without any problem.

Some clients are running a special 100% support so printers do not operate at full capacity.

I just bought a mfp laserjet pro 400 m425dn printer/phtocopier and I can't seem to connect to our network.  I have it plugged into the router and it says "cable disconnected" without an IP address.  I don't have the USB cable to configure the machine and I was hoping to do it via the network (which tells me is an option).  I don't know if that has something to do with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The printer should be released the box set up using DHCP for addressing.

When plug you it into the router it should pull an IP address, if it is its cable disconnected then you might have a bad port on the router, a bad cable or a bad printer.

Plug something else into the same port with the same cable and see if it works, if you have a defective printer and need to return it and get a replacement.

You may also be able to find someone to replace the trainer who has the network port to it.

  • HP laserjet M425dn MFP 400: white pages when using the copy flow tray

Our HP laserjet MFP M425dn of 400 printer suddenly started printing blank pages when I food pages in the sandbox of copy on top of the lid and go through the routine of copy 'optimize '.  When I place the original on the glass, then select copy, copies are missing from the top of the page.  I spent around and in the settings and made sure that I selected the normal size of plain paper (not legal, etc.), but have not solved the problem.  Any suggestions?

There is a "Reset Factory Default" option in the Tools menu. Or you can reset the printer. This forum post has the details: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/Cold-Reset-HP-LaserJet-Pro-400-MFP-M425dn/td-p/3105277

  • HP LaserJet M425dn MFP 400: This product number is not associated with the supplied serial number.

I'm checking the the warranty status of my M425dn.

The warranty registration page, I enter my serial number and click on submit. Website "this product can be identified by the serial number only. Please enter a product number below or change the serial number above. »

I then enter the number of related product as shown on the back label of the device: CF286A. I click send again. Now the page returns "this product number is not associated with the supplied serial number. Please check your records and make any necessary changes. »

I have triple checked my serial number and product number. I so need to know the status of the guarantee of this device. What should I do?

Yes, I am aware of the presentation of the printer and where are product information stickers. In fact, I have pictures of the thumbnails so that I can refer to them without having to look at the back of the unit whenever I need something.

(In most circumstances, I could use web interface of the device to get information. "(But for some reason, the number of product is not included in the page of information of the device web interface... or any other page)."

My unit sticker clearly shows CF286A without extra character.

However, I now know why I have a problem. After stop HP 800-474-6836 support (moved to 800-334-5144) and passing through the quick second support 75 (don't fall for the trick of being told to go online - wait around 10 seconds of silence for the next part of the guest and eventually you will get to the point ask the bot to phone the model information), I was able to speak to a representative very nice who understood that my camera was a replacement warranty and the warranty replacement serial number has never been activated. She finds my serial number with the original purchase of a previous file number, activated the serial number of replacement and after a brief support is now send me another replacement aircraft, from one day to the next day, free of charge.

It is regrettable that this model has been nothing else into trouble, but it's good to know that the warranty service is not too difficult.

  • HP Laserhet 400 M425dn MFP - cannot get IP address

I just bought this printer and followed all the instructions as a whole, however, fight to get the printer works wirelessly. I need to record IP address but when I print the Network Summary page he informed me that the IP address is not configured or not specified. I'm trying to get this set with a MAC and connecting the printer using a USB and a phone port but the printer always tells me that I am not connected to the network? Help!

    @NellFoster

Thanks for posting your question on the forums of hp.com. Based on what you told me, printer connected to the Mac via USB, the printer will not have an IP address.

To receive an IP address, you need to sign, either wireless or lan. Based on the model number you have, m425dn, you can connect the printer via a LAN cable to the Mac or a router and be able to receive an IP address to the printer.

If you choose to connect wireless, then disconnect the USB cable and turn on wireless via the icon on the control panel wireless and follow the wireless Assistant. Make sure you know your router SSID and password you will need to enter it in the printer Panel.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP LaserJet M425dn MFP 400: Evolution of internal fonts in the printer configuration causes sporadic "error 49:0699".

Hello, we had the following problem since we have put some of these models into production (3 in total and it happens to all 3 printers)

We have an old program that sends print jobs to printers directly. It uses the internal settings of the printer to its police. Police 84 is the same font used on the old printers, so we have set up the default font for printers to 84 (they come with 23 configured by default on the page of Print, PCL5 parameters, policy number, in the web configuration of the printer).

What we found is that if the police is 84, the printers will be sporadically throughout the day with the error error code 49.0699 and restart the computer, and then work fine for a while.  The strange thing is this isn't just error on printing, it will do this by making a copy or a fax or even try to print a report of service.

When we initially troubleshoot-carried out the problem, we followed all the normal stages:

Before each of these steps, we ensure no print jobs are waiting or begin to be sent to the printer.

    1:clear NVRAM

    2: Firmware update

    3: update driver

    4: change IP address

5: remove from the network and connect via USB directly to the workstation

    6: replace formatter Board

    7:repeat steps 1-6.

It wasn't until we changed the printer entirely with a brand new and have experienced the same problem that we understood it was change the internal fonts that seem to cause the problem. If we let the police as 23, printers have no error throughout the day, or on the print or fax or transcription.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Just in case someone runs into this post with the same problem, the latest firmware available for this printer (09/12/2015 when the post) has solved our problem.

You can do 'factory reset' menu of the control panel; or permanent initialization of power first, holding and cover the corner area to the right / left of the control panel when you feed on... release your finger when you see «initialization permanent...» ». After you complete and return the loan, it indicates the reset is complete.

  • MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn will not print the text to format 72 points or more

My workplace has recently bought a M425dn of MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 all-in-one printer. It works perfectly except for the fact that it will not print text that is 72 points or larger in size. I tried many fonts that are installed with Windows, and all them print correctly to the point size 71.5 or smaller; Another thing simply does not appear in prints. Content which is of size to 72 points or more * fact * affect the flow of the content printed on the page, however. It's like the 72 points or larger text takes up space, but it is completely invisible on the printed page.

I tested using Microsoft Word 2002 on three separate computers, of which two have installed Windows 7 and Windows Vista installed. The problem is the same on all three computers. The printer is connected via an ethernet cable to our wired network. I have installed the printer software included, and I don't think that there are updates for it that have not been installed up to this point.

Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

Hello, I just made an account to solve this problem for you guys because it has been a puzzle to me also...

  • Many vertical lines colored on the second side of ADF scanner on HP LaserJet 400 MFP M425dn

When I scan using the ADF on our MFP HP LaserJet 400 in mode '2-sided' M425dn, the back side of the scans (even-numbered pages in the PDF file) is wiped out by a good number of colored vertical lines. (see attachment)

I tried to clean the ADF scanning window, but I do not think that these lines are caused by dirt or debris .

    Thank you!

    Ben

There is a notice for this defect, as such I would say contact you HP warranty - there are a few steps to be taken to eliminate and recalibrate the scanner, if the problem persists then it is a module of formatting of replacement and recalibration is needed.

  • Where is the location of the fonts on LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M425dn dimm?

I recently bought a LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M425dn and to install a strip of memory custom font I bought for another printer that accepts fonts DIMM.

The problem is that I can't find the font dimm location, even if the configuration of the printer said very clearly that there is a 'Slot DIMM 1. Said user's Guide: 'this product includes a panel of memory which will accept the following third party font and barcode... '. "- but it does not say where is this"sign of memory. "

There is a door on the left side of the printer, but it has only a rectangular socket, not a DIMM slot.

Can anyone solve this mystery? Thanks much for any help.

Thanks - but it was not the question. I'm not trying to add memory to the printer, but instead to add a MEMORY programmed bar that includes additional fonts.

For the love of someone else who may be interested, I finally found the answer to my own question on TypeHaus website:

This side door on the left (in fact) the door to the DIMM of fonts. I didn't recognize it as a door of police-dimm because the last style font dimm HP uses different hardware than what they used in the past. The new design doesn't have the pins on one edge of the DIMMs, as do the older styles, but instead uses a rectangular connector on the underside.

You can see the answer here:

    http://typehaus.com/pubs/custom/Fcd1/insg/Custom_Fcd1InsgHpxx120611AS.PDF

The illustration is specifically a D401, but the design of the door and socket are identical to the design door and taken on the M425dn.

I hope this can help someone else who may be as puzzled as I was!

  • HP Laserjet MFP error 54.2 M275NW 200

Getting error on HP Laserjet MFP M275NW 200 54.2, cartridge turn - please help.

    Thank you!

    Hi tm_999,

If one or more ink cartridges are installed properly, this may cause a rotation error 54.2 carousel. This error is usually accompanied by a loud grinding noise.

NOTE: The carousel is the rotating part under the top cover that attach all four print cartridges. (C = Cyan, M = Magenta, Y = yellow, K = black).

    Troubleshooting

To resolve this problem, see the following information in the order indicated.

Remove and then reinstall the ink cartridges

To help remove and then reinstall the ink cartridges, see the instructions below:

    1. Lift the scanner (M175) cover and remove the capture of scene (M275), then open the toner access cover.
    2. Look for the carousel brake version, which is the small white tab in the location shown in Figures 1. With a small screwdriver pen or glass hold down and then pull the tab toward the front of the printer to release the brake.

    Figure 1: Carousel brake release

1 - a release of the brakes of the carousel

NOTE: To locate the brake of the carousel, facing the front of the printer, then open the toner cartridge cover. The brake is located on the left side in line with the cartridges.

    3. while now the brake of the exit, turn the carousel forward or backward to align the guides of the print cartridge black on the carousel on the adequate position to remove the cartridge, as shown in Figure 2.

Warning: Make sure not to touch the mag with the applied toner roller. Oils on your hands can damage the toner mag roller

Figure 2: Correct alignment for removal

    4. remove the ink cartridges when the carousel is in position for the withdrawal of the print cartridge.

    5. Repeat this procedure to remove each remaining print cartridge.

    6. check the cartridge problem for damage (compare to one of the other cartridges if necessary).

    7. Once you have all the ink cartridges that are removed, you will need to turn off the printer and then turn it back on by following the instructions in the error message.

    8. wait the printer prompts for installation of the cartridges

    9. Enter the cartridge by the Central handle and then insert the cartridge into the appropriate slot.

TIP - Look for the color icons on the ink cartridge slot to insert the cartridge into the appropriate housing.

    10. close the print cartridge door.

    11. After you close the print cartridge door, the control panel displays the message "calibration or during initialization. Expect that the product is idle and silent before continuing.

NOTE: If you need to replace a print cartridge, you must close the print cartridge door before touching the cartridge button to spin again.

    12. If you need to replace the other print cartridges, press the icon of supplies () again, then select the next print cartridge.

    13. Press cartridge rotation to rotate the carousel to the next cartridge to print and then repeat the previous steps to replace the print cartridge.

Warning: Wait for the sounds of rotation stop before you open the print cartridge door every time.

    14. After you close the print cartridge door, the control panel displays the message "calibration or during initialization.

Let me know if that fixes the problem you are having?

  • HP M425dn: Both sides scanning HP M425

I have a confusion with scan using M425dn.

It assumes to scan and copy both sides as well as single side.

I understand how to copy on both sides, and it's in the manual also (official manual on this site), but I can't understand how to analyze both sides.

It says here he can do 'automatic two-sided scanning and copy' > http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/printers/hp-laserjet-pro-400-mfp-m425dn?jumpid=re_r11662_redirect_ETR&...

Is it really possible to scan on both sides with this all-in-one and how?

The device is capable of 2 scan faces, however, depends on what app allows you to scan, and how to scan you, option 2 faces may or may not be available.

For example, 2 sides scan is available from the printer LCD:

Press "Scan", then "Scan to USB" (or other options analysis)

Tap the 'Settings' (first icon on the bottom bar).

press on "On" on "2 faces".

    Ok
