Simulation of cable

Hey all. I'm trying to get a line of cable - watching him work. I found the post of kglad last year, but it doesn't seem to be a general solution (using Flash 8; there incompatibilities?). In particular, when catenaryApprox is passed to mouse x and ymouse for the first pair and a constant for the second pair, the parabola becomes horizontal when the mouse is near a line abs (*(t-a) b k), where k seems to be an exponential function of the cable 'length' and a and b are the coordinates of the constant pair for the second point.

Above this line, all behaves as it should. Below this line, the parable reverses; close to this line, the parable goes horizontal. I suspect that it is a result of the approximations used, but I have no evidence of that. Someone at - it is possible to duplicate these results? I had problems in the past with the corrupted installations of Flash Player.

Curious monkey, kglad, where these equations come from it? I see that you find the point of intersection, but whence derivatives?

I'm trying to expand the equations for crtlX and crtlY, so I can understand why it explodes; I also try to find a quick way to correct the inversion of the coordinate y kglad code is attached. I found several good references to
http://www.Tinaja.com/glib/bezcat.PDF
http://whistleralley.com/hanging/hanging.htm
http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/catenary

Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much.

Okay, so I had to play around with this and I came up with the following solution. He made no claim that either a mathematical accuracy, but it seems all right and even looks like it 'is short of cord. Thanks a lot for your time, kglad. Simply attach the code attached to an empty clip; It generates a curve as the location of the item to the location of the mouse pointer.

EDIT: Looking at, I noticed that it does not have much to play nice with the stratification system. Maybe that's a problem; He could not. I have not tested.

  • SMU-6556 - how to control the rise in digital lines (hsdio) time

    Hello

Is it possible to control the rise in digital lines SMU-6556 time?

Even in a low frequency 10 kHz signal rise time is 2ns.

    TKS,

    Hello engfpe,

The SMU-6556 is a 50 Ohm system, which means that the output is source series finished to be 50 Ohms and all our cables and accessories are 50 Ohms.  With this configuration, regardless of the flow of data, you should have a clean edge up or down, regardless of the data rate. The quality of the production (edge up or down) on your device is related to the adaptation of impedance of your cables.

The SMU-6556 cannot adjust the speed of scanning by itself.  However, you can insert simple passive components to do it for you.  I have attached below the images.  The first is a diagram showing a way to slow down the edge.  The second is the a waveform simulation showing the rate of original edge before it slows down and the edge of idle.   This simulation is not the SMU-6556 but rather a generic digital output for concept.  In the schema that R1 is set on 34 Ohms because U1.8 has the 16 additional Ohms on the inside.  TL1 is the output of 50 ohms simulating the cable on the SMU-6556.  R2, R3, and C1 are components, you can insert after the SMU-6556 twist before moving your device/cable.  In this configuration from cable to your device is TL2 which is also 50 ohm, but it could be another impedance in which case you would change R3 to match.

You can see in the attached images, you can slow down significantly the edge with this configuration by altering the C1.  I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones selective backup recovery?

No idea how it is possible to recover, after a firmware update, since the last backup just mails and the settings of the tone of my "BOLD"?

    Thank you!

I just amazed, RIM does not provide support for selective restore. Selective backup is available. And when a user selects 'restore' it writes all data of the ipd in the unit.

There is a solution. And you can do a selective restore.

    Download Blackberry Device simulators 4.6.0

    You can get it here

    https://www.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=060AD92489947D410D897474079C1477

Unplug the computer from your blackberry desktop.

Install the downloaded package Blackberry Device Simulator.

    Launch the Blackberry device Simulator.

    Run Blackberry Desktop Software.

In select Blackberry Device Simulator in menu simulation - USB cable connected

BlackBerry Desktop Software will recognize the Simulator as a real device.

Now, do a full restore to the Simulator.

Suite to selective backup of the Simulator to an ipd file.

    After this narrow Simulator.

    Plug in the appliance.

And restore data from this new ipd file created through selective backup of the Simulator.

    It will work for you.

I would test synchronized analog input from two MFDs simulated from the NI6225.  I created two devices of simulated able NI6225 & Automation (M & A) and tagged the first NI6225a and the second NI6225b.   M & I created a RTSI cable configuration and added both simulated devices.  However, when you call NIDAQmx C functions in my test code, I get an error condition indicating that the simulations devices are not synchronized.  Before continuing, I would like firstly to confirm if NIDAQmx is designed to

  • DAQ - mx Simulation devices

Hello. I just reinstall Labview 8.2 and I do not see simulation devices in Max MAX is 4.2. All I can see cable RTSI. I used to have simulation devices, but I also installed LAbview 2010 before eval. After the complete reinstalled I can't get it back. I tried several times. When I install new DAQmx (I think than 9.1), it installs simulation devices, but then I lose my vi.lib DAQ - mx directory (don't know why).

Based on the info from NI Labview 7.4 and above should have simulation devices. Any suggestions?

    I use Win 7 64 bit.

    Thank you

Thank you.  I think that we get no warning because 8.2 supported by Vista, and that's probably just enough good pass install Win7.

  • Control and Simulation in a loop / while loop with TCP/IP reading / writing of synchronization

Hello, I have a problem with reading TCP/IP and written in two loops. The problem is NOT to get the two loops to read and write to and from the other. This has been accomplished. My problem is when I run control and the loop simulation on my laptop and the while on a RTOS remote on the controller on-Board of LabVIEW in a remote PXI chassis, the while loop the remote system running on four 4 times faster than the loop control and simulation on my laptop. In other words, for each iteration of the loop control and simulation on my laptop, there are 4 four iterations of the while loop on the remote system. I need to know how to get a degree of kinship (1:1) with these iterations of the loop. When I run a longer simulation in real time, say 10 seconds, the control and Simulation loop begins to slow, i.e. the simulation time slows down until it is no longer in real time and the "Late Finish"? Parameter is set to true and the LED lights and continues to stay lit. At this point, the system destabilizes due to what I believe is being well sampling rate too discreet and I have to end the simulation. How can I get a ratio of one to one between the loops and also to avoid slowing the loops causing destabilization?

To give an overview of my application, I implement a control system in a network, seen in "image2.png". This is achieved using my laptop as a subsystem 1. Reference signals are generated from the laptop and the error signal is produced. Control measures taken and the control signals are sent via TCP/IP to the remote system. Position feedback is returned, and the process repeats. My system has Core I7 Procs w / 3 GB of RAM, up to 1 GB/s speed via ethernet and LabVIEW 2011 installed with all necessary modules and networking tools. The attached VI Custom_Wireless_Controller works on my laptop. The remote system I'm working on that has the 7830 NI R Series with FPGA card. OTN runs on the PXI chassis with an enbedded controller that has networking capabilities of up to 100 MB/s via ethernet. I use the FPGA for the acquisition of data and apply control signals to my plant. The plant is the PCE twist connected to the FPGA through the cable of the ECP - RIO of NOR. Subsystem 2 is this side of the CNE. The FPGA collects position, he sends to the controller via the network, receives signals from the network drive and writes signals to the plant power amplifier that operates the plant. This process is repeated and the VI and is titled Custom_Wireless_Plant.

I appreciate the help really and look forward for her and for any question!

Well, the first step is to understand what you have set up right now. Your control and Simulation loop on the side of the controller is configured as 'Runga Kutta 4' and you have a loop timed on the other side. In addition, you have the primitives of TCP/IP on the control and the Simulation diagram and means he will perform (a message) on the size of each minor step, which in your case is 4.

    So, you have two options:

    1. replace the Solver side controller Runga Kutta 1 (this must synchronize loops)

    2. hold RK 4, but create a Subvi around two primitives of TCP/IP and configure from the VI to run than the major (continuous) step-size. If you do it right, you should see a 'C' on the upper right part of the VI you have created.

Please let me know if what I said is not clear...

  • Simulated equipment

    Hi all

I'm going to give lessons on the CVI programming soon, and if I have all ^ H ^ H most of the C/UIR ready stuff, I also want to show the interactions of material. I usually do all my communication of hardware under Linux, so I'm a little rusty with different codes. And also I don't have actual hardware very convenient.

So my question breaks down to: is it possible to simulate the material? The same system of pure software, or on a machine separate the cable flexible and appropriate.

    Let's see the details:

-niDaqmx: I think that the answer is yes I recall using it once.

-USB to give an example of the use of VISA.

-Series. I guess I could run some program talk series on a separate computer with a crossover cable. Or in the simplest case, a null-modem bounce?

-GPIB. Identical to the series I guess.

    Any advice?

    Thank you.

    Hello

As long as DAQmx is installed, you should have no trouble making a simulated device in Max just make sure that you simulate a device capable of what you're trying to do. An as the 6353 X series card should cover most of the bases (analog & digital I/O + meters).

USB, GPIB, and series all fall under VISA / Instrument control. Far from having one of these, a serial communication program, as you described is a good way to get hands on experience. You could also have do them a loopback test to demonstrate the basics.

Without doubt, the most important thing you can teach is where to find more information, once the class is over. Don't forget to let them know where they can find examples of navigation. In addition, IDNet is a good place to go for instrument drivers specific (and device specific examples in some cases). Most students don't remember everything a class, so they'll be much better if they know where they can find information later.

I hope this helps! Good luck with your class!

  • Error to the element of the queue with simulated signal, but not with the DAQ hardware

Hello.  I get an error code 1 when I run my VI in simulation mode, which is only 3 simulate subvis signal at different frequencies.  The block diagram shows jpg file and the probe is after I stop the VI.  Note that there is an invalid refnum.  I don't know why that is.  I am also including the watch of the probe after a few iterations, there is no error on the probe 64 until I stop the VI, and also noted that there have been no queue items.  This of course means that I don't get to remove the data in loop 2.  An interesting note is that the system works fine when I run the program in data acquisition mode, which is the other case behind the 'simulate signals. "  In this case, the only thing is the DAQ assistant and dynamic data of the tunnel cable.  Everyone can't see what I could do wrong?  Thank you.

Thanks for looking at my post.  I thought about it about five minutes ago.  I didn't have a timeout on the handeler event, so it was not double check for new items in the queue.  I don't know yet why the probe shows showes that items have not put in the queue because they certainly were.  Maybe "queue items 0" means that there are no items saved in the queue. ?

Your concern is interesting and deserves a check...  I just ran it without registration, and it seems that the release of the case (the default) record structure is just an empty DDT, a placeholder, I guess.

  • Troubleshooting OR Instrument Simulator Version 1

    Normal 0

    Hello

I recently bought a used Instrument Simulator (I.S.) and I can't get it to function.

When I turn on the power, three LEDS light up: power, ready and listen.

What control input in the VISA test Panel, I get the following error.

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

After getting this error, I check the serial port settings to ensure they are the same. Windows XP, MAX and I.S. are all configured to 9600 baud, hardware flow control, parity, 1 stop bit, 8-bit per character.

After checking that, I unplugged the cable series of the I. S. then I jumper the terminals of cable series DB9 4 to 6, 2 to 3 and 7 to 8. This allows to perform a test of closure as shown here.

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/3450#2

The result of the loopback test was good. I could send and receive in Hyperterminal, VISA and the base series writing and Read.vi

With all doing just that, I wonder if I bought a bad Instrument Simulator. Is there something I'm missing or it's Junk?

  • SDK can not connect to the Simulator in VMware

My operating system: Windows 7 64-bit

SDK version: 10.0.9; Build id: v201212072306

    VMware Player Version: 5.0.1 build-894247

Video card: NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti

I'm trying to use the simulator of 10 BlackBerry, running in VMware Player, to test applications under development in the native BlackBerry SDK. However, when I try to run these applications from the SDK and connect to the Simulator, I see that even though (I think) I got the correctly configured IP address for the target, it is still listed as "Not connected" in the list of Options of the target (I don't know if this is normal or not). Then, if I try to launch the project in any case, I get the following error message:

"Unable to connect. Make sure USB cable or Wi - Fi is connected, the IP address is correct, and the mode of development. »

Sorry if I didn't explain very clearly, this is very new to me, and I still have trouble getting my head around it. I'm sure there is probably some information that I forgot to include in this post, but I will provide if I think that whatever it is.

I have been looking for solutions to the question, but it seems that there could be many possible causes, so I thought it would be better to make a new thread specifically for my situation. I tried the following:

-Check that the development Mode has been activated (it seems that it has been enabled by default)

-Ping I thought several times, was the IP address of the command line simulator (sometimes I had to meet with success, but not at the beginning)
    -Disabling Windows Firewall
    -Running a .bat file with 'ipconfig/release; ipconfig / renew. ipconfig/flushdns ".
-I check the correct target for the Simulator IP address (double-check this confuses me a little, but I think I can find it in "Settings"-> "About" simulation-> 'Network' menu?)
-Temporarily disable Avast! antivirus software to check if she is interfering
-Verification of VMware Windows were running (I think he installed four of them in total)
-Uninstall (then reboot) and reinstall the SDK, Simulator and VMware and restarting, repeatedly

-Windows asked to troubleshoot the connection of VMnet8 of VMware; He said DHCP must be enabled, but then failed to do this for me (this left me confused; I wasn't sure if it was important or not)

-Passage of the NAT VMware Bridged mode for the simulator mode, then the connectivity test (it doesn't seem to help, and the "About"-> page 'Network' in the simulation was empty), then power back up

Any help or any what pointers to additional information, I would give, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: I also cant seem to get QML previews to work at all. I don't know if it is related to my other question, but I thought it might be worth mentioning, and this is something else I would try to fix, if possible. I tried to update my drivers, but to no avail.

Solution found! I just tried to add a target in the software development kit using the IP address on 'Settings' of the Simulator-> "About"-> "Network" screen, but the target has been filtered out of the list, unless I unchecked "target filter based on the selection of C/C++ applications". If I unchecked, the target has been classified as ' 192.168.31.128 (Neutrino / x 86) ', but the Run button was grayed out when I chose it and I noticed the error message, ' binary Selected target do not match x 86 "at the top of the window." I have googled this error message and found the following (quite old) thread:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/native-development/QNX-IDE-target-selected-binary-and-target-...

After reading through and testing, it turns out that all I had to do was change the active configuration in the drop-down list at the top of the window SDK 'Device-Debug' for 'Simulator-Debug", little"hammer"that I needed to build to the Simulator and not a real physical BlackBerry device. Here is a quote from the post of cdamus, which is where I found the solution:

"A little trick to streamline your workflow: prospects for development C/C++ has a little"hammer"toolbar of action that you can pull down (click on the black triangle next to it) to define and build the active configuration in one step, for one or several projects."  The icon to the right (it looks a bit like a sundial) defines the active configuration, but is not build. »

I took a screenshot to help indicate the setting that I need to use:

Hope this helps you chuma and anyone else who has this problem. Thanks for the tip, cdamus!

  • How to test moduleDeletionsPending, in the Simulator, I don't have the option to remove my application

    How to test the following?

I want to test the functionality by using the method public void moduleDeletionsPending (String [] moduleNames). I had written logic that removes files from an SD card and it works when I call a menu inside my application item.

However, it should only be run when I uninstall the application.

In 9700 Simulator, if I select Options > Applications > [highlight the application] > [open the menu by pressing the Insert key on my keyboard] - I don't see the option to remove the application.

I don't see the delete option for other applications, such as the Klondike card game.

Should I set a property or the permissions of my app should be deleted in a simulator, so I can test the moduleDeletionsPending method?
