Skype crashing directly after startup

Hello

I've been using Skype a while now, all of a sudden my computer get is a blue screen. I restart my computer, start all as usual. While Skype does not start with the message: "Skype no longer works." I tried to find an error, could not find anything. It does everything it says on the same positions. And don't worry, I hope someone can help out me!

Greetings,

Thomas

For anyone having this problem too, I deleted my account Skype roaming. And once again, it just works great. Oddly enough I already did, but now it worked.

    I already tried things:

    • Uninstalling and reinstalling

    • Uninstall, remove the folder appdata (roaming and Local), remove entries from registry of Skype and re - install.

    • Running Disk Cleanup Skype running as administrator.

    • Running Microsoft Fixit ProgramInstallUninstall to uninstall before installing again.

I can't find older versions, I think because Microsoft wants to encourage the use of more secure versions / patched, so I can't say if this question is directly related to the most recent version, or something on my computer.

If anyone has any suggestions for what to try next, I would be really grateful.

  • Firefox crashes soon after startup

Asked me to restart my laptop (64 bit) of Windows 7 to apply an update to my Norton protection product. In my view, an update of Firefox has been applied recently as well.

  • CS6 inDesign crashing just after startup

    Hello

We had a problem with one of our InDesign CS6 users, I feel that we have tried to implement everything. I will list them for reference:

    • InDesign CS6 uninstall through the standard "uninstall a program".
    • Uninstalling InDesign CS6 and by using the 'AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool '.
    • Tried to install using different disks.
    • Tried the update of the program (a few times he has shown there is no update).
    • Tried to delete the startup scripts and the removal of preferences.
    • Tried with a profile of charge on PC users.
    • Used several PC to test it with various different user accounts.
    • In the end we suffered just the hard drive clean, a completely new installation of windows 7, still no joy.

The only way that we can get this to work and not fall down just after commissioning is to give the user administrative rights, which for obvious reasons, is not an option for us.

    Could someone please advise?

    Thank you

    Hi Peter,.

It seems that I finally found a solution! One of my colleagues sent me so I thought I share it incase others have the same problem.

Here are the steps I took to make it work.

    1. create a folder on the root of C, as C:\UserTemp

    2. give users the rights to modify on the file that you created.

    3. run the following commandlines for each user change their folder and tmp %% hemins (need to be registered as a user):

    A. setx.exe TEMP C:\UserTemp

    B. setx.exe TMP C:\UserTemp

Basically, what this does is create a new TEMP folder where the user can get full access too, without having administrative rights. I was told that it works for all applications of CS6 not just InDesign.

Hope this can help someone else in the future and thanks for your help on this stone, troubleshooting.

    See you soon,.

  • Skype crashes immediately after starting

Skype worked fine until that earlier. Now, whenever I run Skype, it would Flash the screen for a second before they go. It also adds its icon in the field of acticity, but when I try to right-click the icon he disappers. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting the history, but nothing seems to work. Help please,

There are no physical webcam connected to your computer, while several virtual video sources are.

Uninstall the camera [JPEG/MJPEG] IP and virtual camera Dxtory video applications. These applications are known to conflict with the latest versions of Skype.

Another solution is to force Skype not use any source Video Capture. This can be done by editing the shared.xml file:

  • Skype crashes after update, windows 7 64 bit

    Hello

How to fix something that's not broken. New Skype crashes whenever I am trying to make a call. It is so bad that it freezes on the entire system. I can't 'kill' the application by ctrl + alt + del, only solution to restart the system. I Googled, tried a few solutions, as little different installation versions and turned off auto-updates to date, but nothing helped.

I'm really mad, a lot of work important contacts are there, and I'm forced to use it on a small screen of my iPhone.

    I have

Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, as two or three months

    Avast antivirus 2015

Enough * beep * fast machine with God knows how many processors, 16 GB ram, great drive hard quick flash

Please, I need a working Skype, this update is a stupid idea.

OK, so, here is what I did (spoiler, video calls work once again):

-Updated drivers Nvidia (really doubt it hit anything, Skype broke again)

-Is back to the old version of Skype (does not work)

-Removed stuff from a list of the programms, loading at startup (Avast could not be removed so...)

    -Uninstalled Avast.

    It worked.

So I guess it could be reduced to Avast free Antivirus. And by the way, Skype has become a piece of shit really software that requires a magic set of conditions to work properly. I will be looking forward to an alternative to Skype. Thanks for all the Seraph, I mark a last as an accepted solution. Although an accepted solution would make decent software, as it used to be a few versions ago.
