    Hi all.
Finally I solved my problem (see "sleep and extended in windows XP" for more details).
I uninstalled everything on HP printer because Windows XP plug-and-play service does not load the Power Manager settings if it is not the printer.

Now I understand why the HP software does not work properly, you know?

It seems that the HP software has adopted some features of the operating system. Normally, it is very good for the manufacturer to give the features more functions.

But if there is a third software such as Power Saver from Toshiba could occure problems because the energy saver adopts XP power settings and it administer very dominate. If the HP printing software was not able to adopt the settings of MS!

  • Sleep and extended modes disappeared!

Hello! All of a sudden, the sleep and hibernation modes have disappeared: the options are then to stop, but they can not be selected. In addition, the "sleep mode" does not activate when I close the lid of the computer (even though I already checked in the options it is supposed to do). I hope someone can help with this!

"Vgasave is that Windows uses when the graphics driver is not present or does not work, or in Safe Mode." Go to the Device Manager and check the status of your graphics card and also check hard goods that could conflict with display usually under 'other devices' or 'Unknown devices' if present. Remember that you have the latest driver from the manufacturer's support Web site. »

  • Satellite Pro A300 sleep and extended functions does not properly

    I have a new satellite Pro A300 PSAJ1E - 01E00VIT, and I find this problem:

Sometimes (not always: maybe it depends on which program is running) in trying to put the computer to sleep or into hibernation, it does not stop, but only stop the monitor (Panel), while the fan goes on and the power light is green. Of course, a lot of energy consumption of battery!

Then there is no other way to take off the computer by pressing the power button for a long time... but this is not correct!
NB: my computer is always connected to a local network, and generally there are some browser windows open when I put it in stand-by mode.

    How can I fix?
    jomurray

You must update the BIOS and must always close the programs and applications that ruin on the laptop before activating the standby mode or hibernation would be.

I found this solution in this forum, and according to some people here it has solved similar problems

  • screen brightness blocked after sleep/wake extended in windows vista with HP Pavilion dv6000

Sometimes after recovery mode PC standby or Hibernate, the brightness of the screen is locked up and I can't change it.

Nothing happens when I adjust the brightness setting in power or with FN + f7/f8 options.

Even when I remove the power cable and operate on battery rest brightness up

The only way to fix this is to completely restart windows vista.

This happens not all the computer returns from sleep/hibernate, but it happens frequently.

I have all the latest drivers for:

I have all the latest important updates from windows update.

Anyone know a fix for this?

For example, is there a way to 'reset' of the screen without having to reboot vista?  Once the brightness has been blocked, and I tried to reinstall the driver for the graphics card. The screen resets during the installation process without getting out of vista, and brightness worked normally.

Someone knows a way to reset the screen without having to restart or reinstall the graphics driver?

HP Pavilion 6563, home premium Windows Vista 32.

In fact, I found an easy way to solve the problem without having to restart vista...

I just close the LID and open it back, now I can control the brightness again.

I put the "close cover" - function of "doing nothing" in the powersettings...

  • Blocking issues, of sleep and extended Vista

Running Vista Enterprise edition on a HP 6930p with Service Pack 2 installed. Some days, that the machine works well, if I lock it then he out of lock fine, if I left in standby mode, I have to reboot for it to wake up. Other times I hit ctrl + alt + delete and nothing happens, system does not allow me to lock it. Cause then me having to let him sleep on his own, which then means that I have to restart it wound out of mode "Eve". Have turn off Hibernate that too did not work for me. Apply all patches, patches and do it yourself links I can find on the site of microsoft and the knowledge base. If anyone has a better solution, circumvent or difficulty apart from reinstalling Vista, please let me know. It is an end-user machine and has been a problem since giving him the laptop with Vista installed.

The machine itself is built from a brand image and not really tested before the user receives. The question also not spread wide which means we have a lot of users with similar HP and vista, but not the problem. This leads me to believe that a driver problem is to blame or maybe a setting within the system itself. I did the BIOS update and patches installed and used the latest drivers from the HP site. This seems to fix the problem at the time, but I have a particular user that this keep recurring with. Any other suggestions would be great, thx

    Hi Anthony

I checked all the options on my friends book and everything works fine. I also checked all the options of the electric tool under the Action of Setup (manual configuration) tab.

Your device comes pre-installed with a Toshiba recovery media?
Try to remove the tool and install it again.

    Hi Sam,

A power plan is a collection of hardware settings and system that manages how your computer uses and conserves energy. Power management can save energy, maximize system performance, or balance conservation of energy with performance.

    Let us try these methods.

    Method 1.

You can run the troubleshooter of power to set your computer's power settings. The resolution of the problems of power check things as settings timeout of your computer, which determines how long the computer waits before turning off the display or enter the mode 'sleep'. These settings can help you save energy and extend the life of the battery in your computer.

    Open the power Troubleshooter: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/open-the-power-troubleshooter

    Method 2.

You can create a new power plan and check if that helps.

Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/change-create-or-delete-a-power-plan-scheme

  • Sleep and Hibernate works not properly

    Hello
I have a laptop HP running Win7 64 bit which has developed a problem when you use power-saving features and ensures extended. I rarely stop or restart the system and very rarely use Hibernate, opting instead for simply use sleep function when I close the lid. Stop and restart both to perform as expected, but whenever I try to use the sleep function, either by closing the lid or via the options on the start menu, simply, the screen goes black and the laptop runs - the fan is on and the hard drive light flashes sometimes. I waited for about ten minutes, but nothing changes. Then, when I lift the lid to wake the system, nothing happens and I have to do a closed hard. The same thing happens with the Hibernate.

I used the system restore already to try to resolve, by choosing a restore point, a few days before the recent updates or system changes, I did but the problem remains.

I also changed the settings in the power settings to try to solve the problem, but once again failed to do.

I turned it off Hibernation using start, run, powercfg-h off but once again, this has not fixed the problem. >

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

  • Problems with sleep and stopped after upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello

So I'm going to sleep problems and stop once I have upgraded to Windows 10 laptop won't sleep or stop correctly. The screen turns off, but the power LED remains lit and fan as well. If I chose the sleep he wakes up little matter what I try, and I have to make a hard stop at every time.

    Any solution to this problem?

    Thank you.

    1. Download version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.
    2. Download the Package of troubleshooting Windows 10 "show or hide updates" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab).
    3. Change the Windows Update Services automatic (delayed start) parameter to the manual.
      • In Control Panel, select administrative tools, and open Services.
      • Go to Windows Update and double-click it to view its properties.
      • Click on stop to stop the service to run.
      • Change the Startup Type to manual, and then click OK.
    4. Install version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  If you receive a warning dialog box about the replacement of a newer version of the software, accept it.
      • NOTE: You have NO need to uninstall version 11 before installing version 9 or 10.  The presence of a version of the driver is required to 'upgrade' (or demote in this case).
    5. Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting Package 'Show or hide updates' and hide the updates of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  (This will block your system automatically reinstall or display of updates for version 11 of the pilot).
    6. Change back the setting of Windows Update Services to manual automatic (delayed start).
    7. Restart your computer.
    8. Rejoice!  You can finally sleep and stop again.

    Hey mate,

I have too many Qosmio F50 and you can change the option if, after hibernate or stand-by the account should be locked or not. As far as I know that this can be changed in power management.

About this window of Event Viewer, I never heard talk about this and my Qosmio F50 works fairly well with Windows 7. You have installed all the drivers for it? You have yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager?

I also used Windows 7 drivers, but did you download from the Toshiba page? These drivers are pre-tested and normally should work pretty well.
