  • Sync Smartphone blackBerry 8900 problem: "Blackberry Desktop Manager has stopped working".

Curve 8900 on T-Mobile.  Fune Sync worked until a few days ago.  Recently used the Blackberry site to update all the software after that I received a message on my phone to do so (http://na.blackberry.com/eng/update/). Now, in the middle of synchronization (Bluetooth or USB), Windows tells me that "Blackberry Desktop Manager has stopped working".  It always stops working at the stage where Desktop Manager treats the device calendar.

I tried all the stuff I can think: uninstalling and reinstalling, Outlook Update, disable Windows Defender, USB and Bluetooth, used the T-Mobile site and the EDGE of the site... nothing.  Help!

    Desktop Manager v5.0.0.11

    Handheld Software v4.6.1.231

    Windows Defender is DISABLED

    Synchronize with Outlook 2007

Could mean that the calendar on the BlackBerry database is corrupted. Are the entries in Outlook until data on the BlackBerry? If so you can try out the BlackBerry database, and then synchronize again. To clear the database on the BlackBerry, go to the backup and restore | Advanced. On the right, you will see the BlackBerry databases. So you can choose the calendar, then click on the delete button. That will remove all entries from the BlackBerry calendar. Then try to sync.

  • Excursion to Smartphones blackBerry dropped in the water...

Hey, I dropped my blackberry tour in the toilet for a few seconds, took the battery and separated dried both. When I got home, about two hours later, I put my phone in rice dry and it has been sitting for about two days. I took the lead by about a day and tried to start up my phone. my phone at all turns. It is completely fried? could it be just the battery? but my phone was also almost at low battery when I dropped it in the toilet. What should I do?

Give him a full five days IN rice and no more check it out to see if it works.

Yes, you could have fried, but maybe not. After five days, the device connected to a cable from charger from wall outlet and then replace the battery. Less than 10 minutes, you will know whether or not it is fried.

    Good luck!

    Hi again,

On the computer of the 8900 sector

You can find your carriers BIS interface here:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F

If you've never used, you will need to create a BIS account (and identifying information) that is then associated with your BB PIN. And then, you will have to use them if use you the FIS again since the device interface (there is a ticbox to check for BB to remember the credentials, so just enter once).

  • Smartphones blackBerry PIN to the United States since the France

I will be going to France in September and buy a BlackBerry and the service and wanted to know if I'd be able to another BB PIN of France? Going to cost me something? It cost the receiver anything, if the receiver of the PIN is in the United States?

E-mail pine is part of the sender, and BlackBerry package of the receiver of data. Several carriers have unlimited data plans, so in essence it is 'free' yet you pay a single monthly price for the data plan, which includes unlimited messaging of pine.

Now, if you have a capped package, say 50 MB of data for monthly and you go on this amount, in theory, you could have to pay more.

So it depends. But in most cases, no, you will pay more.

You can PIN message all over the world for no additional or international fees. None.

  • How can smartphones blackBerry I change the color of the font of the messages?

    Hello all,.

I'm severely lost when it Blackberry Storm to my CEO so please bear with me.

When he sends e-mail messages to the people, the text appears in blue.  So far I've seen emails in an Outlook 2003 client interface, so I'm not sure if what is happening in other e-mail clients.

I read virtually all "options" or "settings" category, I have found (and there is more than I can shake a stick at) and could not find anything related to e-mail fonts or font colors.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I'm seriously out of my League with this device.  Also, if there is additional information, I could add to help you help me please ask.

    Best, Jack

All BlackBerry ONLY send messages in plain text, no HTML formatting (unless your fowarding an HTML previously received by e-mail). Blue is the color that BlackBerry use ON the response of type to indicate that you are in a response to the e-mail.

And what you see in Outlook can be affected by your own Outlook settings, but has no importance.

The email sent was the plain text, with no formatting.

  • Smartphones blackBerry phone lights. the red light.

So my blackberry was fine when I went to sleep. woke up and it was off a reason any. I tried to turn it on and it wouldn't. I removed the battery, it reintroduced after a bit and the solid red light came. After a while he went off... then nothing... nothing on the screen.

    HOW SHOULD I DO?

Before you do anything else, do the following:

Leave the appliance to charge 2-3 hours and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the battery from the camera a few seconds and plug it back. If it starts - let - the charges to 100% (check the Options > status for the percentage).

If your BlackBerry is still under tension turned off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life may be the flashing red indicator light in the upper corner. Nothing seems to wake and Desktop Manager does not recognize that a device is connected.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • Smartphones blackBerry 8900 curve

    Hello

I plan to buy a Smartphone. Still undecided between a Blackberry Curve 8900 and a Nokia E71X. I have a few questions:

    1. Not to mention that voice dialing, can I use my voice to other duties (provide GPS voice instructions to find an address, etc..)?
    2. When you use the desktop application, in addition to using the USB connection, I can connect the 8900 using Bluetooth or WiFi, for synchronization?
    3. The 8900 can be attached (using it as a wireless modem to connect my laptop to the Internet)?
    4. The home screen can be customized (can change icons, shortcuts, the list of applications, etc.)?
    5. The screen can change between Portrait and landscape?
    6. The GPS is a complete recommended standalone GPS, or it relies on wireless service (for example, ATT charges $10/month for the GPS service, called A - GPS)? What I mean is that I have to pay for this service, or can GPS works without him?
    7. What is the warranty for the 8900?
    8. Is the 3 8900?
    1. I'm not aware of the use of the voice to give GPS instructions. You can use voice dialing, which is where you can talk to the someone name in the address book and BlackBerry will call this number
    2. You can connect via Bluetooth and USb cable
    3. Yes. Although with some companies you need monthly extra payan to attach
      http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB05196
    4. You can change the theme or download themes of the device to change the appearance of the icon. You can hide the icons that you don't want anymore.
    5. In my view, that this feature is available on the storm.
    6. You do not have to pay for the GPS. If you get a BlackBerry data plan then it comes with data unlimited, so you do not download charged to use the data. There are a few good GPS programs that offer turn-by-turn directions

    7. I believe it is a guarantee of 1 year, with a 30 days money back guarantee if you buy from your carrier

    8. I think that the device only connects to the EDGE network, not 3 G

  • Enterprise activation Smartphones blackBerry 8900

I can't activate my Curve 8900 (new) to synchronize wirelessly with Outlook.

We have a Blackberry Enterprise Server and I was delivered with the (new) password.

I entered my e-mail address and password, but it gives an error message that says "contact your administrator" which is not really intuitive. I also tried adding the details of the server but had the same problem.

The first time I synchronized via my laptop and it worked, then when I removed the cable and experienced what precedes, I even if I did something wrong during installation so I wiped the blackberry and tried again. Same problem as above and I have not connected to the laptop yet.

I checked with our company, which has confirmed that my SIM card is enabled for data. The collection starts when I put it in an old Blackberry device.

Any advice will be really welcome.

    Thank you

    Jacques

Just got the word from Vodafone that the account has not been activated correctly... Thanks for your advice

  • Comparison of Smartphones blackBerry "BOLD" and the next tour for Verizon

I intend to switch to T-Mobile to AT & T this week, in order to buy the "BOLD".  I just read on the tour which will be released this summer (to be determined) for Verizon.  Is that what someone wants to compare the specifications of "BOLD" and "plain English" Tour for those of us who are big fans of BlackBerry, but who do not have the technical know-how to really understand the nuances between the two devices?  Your time is much appreciated!

Take a look at this for info

    http://www.blackberrynews.com/2009/06/16/rim-officially-announces-the-BlackBerry-tour-9630/

-The tour will have the best camera, 3.2 Mpx

-More than a memory-to-memory 256 MB Flash, the "BOLD" is 128

-As well as a faster processor.

Take a look at an ATT or TMO 8900, and you will have the feeling of size for the round, but slightly heavier, just lighter than a storm.

  • Navigation GPS Smartphones blackBerry not on the phone

Hi, I have not found a similar position then...

I used to have an 8900 and he had the 'Compass' for navigation logo but my new 9300 bb is not. I've done the ' options, advanced options to update gps... "but there is no way to enter gps application because it is not on my phone?

    anyone with the same problem?

    Thank you!

Some service providers such as AT & T block the BlackBerry Maps application.

You can always use Google Maps for free.

You can install BlackBerry Maps directly from your BlackBerry browser using this link:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8900 reset completely - edit: problem solved.

I'll try and provide as much information as possible here, but I am very confused on my 8900 (OS 4.6.1.199) that will accomplish a reset.

Yesterday when the phone was sitting right next to me, the screen turn white background seemed the phone was given to zero himself, but it never reset and just would stay at my screen from provider of carrier (Cincinnati Bell) for as long as I let him.  I have not installed applications 3rd party or themes or done something to change my BB anytime in the last month.

I did a battery pull to try and reseit again and the same problem persisted.  I let the battery sit for 15 minutes and put back in, same problem.  I let the battery sit for an hour, same thing.

The strange thing is, if I hold the power button to turn off the phone, the phone starts to blink on the home screen, validate my security software and then turn off.  So if I turn on it back, the phone will be on but lack icons and applications.  Particularly missing my box icon (a quite important for me) mailbox and BBM entirely.  I made sure that they are not hidden or in folders and they are not found.  I'm not able to pull up from my address book simply by typing the name of a contact from the home screen if I want to make a phone call.  Instead, I have to press the call button, and then type the number in.

When I got home last night, I removed the battery and plugged the Blackberry to my computer with the battery pulled and waited until the battery icon happen on the screen.  Then I put the battery and tried to update all the software on the device, but the Office Director said that all software is up-to-date.  Then I used the executable Loader which forced the phone through a series of resets and the phone came back with all the icons and functionality (except still not BBM).  I tried to download BBM through Blackberry World and it wouldn't let me download My World or any other list that she appeared in.  It wouldn't even appear when I clicked on it to open it in the lists (other applications would be open and I'd like to upload them to the app store).  So after being asked by the phone several times more that I had to reset, I reluctantly did and now the phone is in the same State in all day yesterday where I hold the power button while it is frozen reset status so that he can turn it on.  Still missing functionality and icons that I mentioned earlier.  I also removed a lot of apps of the day after just in case where the phone memory and on the left that it plugged in all night to the computer has been insufficient.

    Need help, please please help.

    1. do you have a recent backup of your device? If this isn't the case, get fed up as much as possible you could do before and Director of office to perform a backup.

    2. now disconnect the USB and close the Desktop Manager.

    3 reload/upgrade the operating system:

See the link below for download and simple installation instructions.

It's the latest official OS released for the 8900 device:
http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-8900-series-discussion-Javelin/219290-latest-OS-8900-5-0-0-7... Download the file of the OS on the PC and then install it on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

    5. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Smartphones blackBerry 8900 with Apple Mac

HI - anyone out there has experience with the use of the new 8900 in conjunction with a Mac computer? I have always used a PC and MS Office software (Outlook) for syncing etc. I think to put a Mac and I'd hear questions before I go ahead. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Do not use the TMO forums, they are a waste of time. I've been a Mac user for years and just found the right way to synchronize with your Mac. Use PocketMac for Blackberry, you can download it from the Blackberry site. You can also export all your yahoo or gmail contacts in your address book and synchronize your address book with your BB 8900. I am satisfied with my MacBook and my Blackberry. They are a great combination.
