  Ethernet speed is determimed by the quality of the cable and the Ethernet port on the other end.  To get the speed of 1.0 G, the other port Ethernet connection (network switch / Internet high speed peripheral access) must also be set to 1.0 G speeds.

  I have a 6 week old want H8 - 1420 T C1U69AV #ABA, Windows 8 64 bit, 1 GB Radeon HD7670 and I am trying to connect two Dell 1905FP monitors. Each monitor works fine when it is connected to the DVI port. When I connect a monitor with an adapter HP DisplayPort / DVI dongle, the system reports it as a generic Non - PNP monitor and the screen remains black. I tried the adapter on another system, and it works fine.

  I've updated to the new '8.982.10.1800 Rev A January 3, 2013' driver on the HP site, but it did not help. The AMD drivers will not install because it is apparently a video of the ugly step-child card, not a true AMD. If I knew that I would have not purchased with the system.

  I have the original of the 1905FP CD when I bought it and it isn't a driver file on this subject (no need of one with XP). When the monitors work, they are each reported as a 1905FP.

  Thanks for the suggestion, but this has been resolved over the weekend. I was using a passive adapter Displayport to DVI. I replaced it with a Startech DP2DVIS active adapter Displayport to DVI and that did the trick.

• Solution to adapt a location PCIe to the PCI standard?

  A few months ago, I buy a HP Pavilion slimline s5750z desktop computer.  The motherboard included has 1 PCIe x 16 slot, 3 x 1 PCIe slots and 1 PCIe x 1 socket minicards.  My question is: are there i/o cards or another solution that will adapt one of these PCIe connectors in a standard PCI?  I have an E - MU 1616 m studio which requires an internal PCI card.  The card E-MU is rather big (definitely not a low-profile card), so I'll probably have to move the internal data of the s5750z in a larger box.  My only holdup is finding a way to adapt one of the PCIe slots (or plug) in a standard PCI card.  All advice, solutions or answers telling me that I'm a dreamer, eager to make the impossible would be most appreciated!

  Technically all computers have this feature (assuming they have USB ports).  I suggest first to try a standard VGA cable (your laptop has a VGA port)? Do not forget to check that your TV has a VGA port as well

  My understanding is that the X220i (like my X 220) has an ExpressCard54 slot, i.e., an ExpressCard slot, which is 54 mm wide.  The 54mm or 34mm wide ExpressCard should get into that, but old PCMCIA 16-bit or 32-bit CardBus cards will not, because they have different connectors.

  OWC, rain computers, SIIG, Sonnet, StarTech and SYBA are FireWire ExpressCard adapters that should work fine with your X220i.

• Need help to find an adapter for a third-party monitor

  Hi all! I find myself in need of a little guidance, and I hope that someone out there will have a quick n easy for me...

  I have a Mid-2011 27 'iMac. which has two ports Thunderbolt It is taken with a Wacom tablet that I use constantly, and the other is made by an external hard drive to a solid state, which has a built-in cable to Thunderbolt (no way to hang it on a different port). I also have a 27 "HP monitor that is currently connected via an HDMI USB adapter.

  The problem is that the HP monitor is actual "jiggy" - the USB does not seem fast enough to deal with requests for the monitor. It is almost unusable. I know I should run it via a HDMI adapter Thunderbolt, but as I have already mentioned the two my Thunderbolt ports are already in use.

  Someone at - it ideas? I need sort of three to two ports Thunderbolt hooks, but I can't seem to find anything for less than $300 that would work. (I am illiterate when it comes to the different cables, adapters, ports, etc., so I hope someone can point me in the right direction by using short words... Most of the products that I travel through list specifications that me Chicane).

  The monitor has two HDMIs and a VGA port, and my iMac has a Firewire 800 port, if that helps at all...

  2011 iMac have only 1 Thunderbolt port and there is no such thing as a Mid-2011, you must have an iMac of year later, if it has 2 ports Thunderbolt. All the 27 "iMacs, from 2012 to 2015 the current have 2 ports Thunderbolt.
