• STR DN1040 HDMI HDCP issues

  I have a recurring issue with my new receiver STR-DN1040. It works fine for a while and then it stops negotiating devices on my TV HDCP. For example, my PS3 will display a black screen when I turn it on. My TiVo Series 3 displays a screen saying that there is a negotiating HDCP error trying to watch cable channels. The only solution I found is to unplug the receiver from the wall and plug it in again - then it immediately starts working again.

  It produces at least a couple of times a week, and it's extremely frustrating. Looking at a few discussions on here and other websites this is not an uncommon problem.

  I tried tweaking about all the settings that I can think of nothing doesn't. One who seems to have made the most difference is turning off the fast display of the HDMI, but it might just be a coincidence.

  Here's what I connected through my receiver (all with HDMI):

  Apple TV

  Xbox 360

  Wii U

  PlayStation 3

  TiVo Series 3

  Sony BDP-S360 Blu Ray

  My TV is a Sony KDL-46EX710.

  My HDMI outputs receiver / A + B the TV (I have a set of HDMI input upwards for games and one for the TV-movie).

  As you can tell, I love my Sony AV products. I wish just that this receiver has worked reliably for me.

  Is this a known problem and it's something that will be fixed in a future update? I really want to love this receiver (and most of the time I do - when it works!), but every time I turn on the TV and get a HDCP error, I want to throw it out the window.

  I tried to update the firmware on my STR-DA2800ES, but after that the file download is complete, the installation was interrupted when my daughter accidentally pressed the power button on the receiver. It turns on, but feel like there is something a little out... Since the update of the firmware, the receiver (less than a month), does not display the speakers (I have 6.1 speakers to the receiver) on the front display panel and the front of that blue light lights with DTS audio even if the façade says it receives this type of signal. I tried to reset the receiver back to factory settings, but I am unable to run the firmware install again, because the receiver says its already installed. Is there anything I can do to reinstall the update, or get the settings I've talked to work well?

  Disconnect all speakers and re-establish connections. Also, try to change the different surround modes in the receiver. Firmware update cannot be reinstalled in it.

• 7.1 surround back speakers - str-dn1030 are considered "up front."

  I bought the STR-DN1030 as a replacement for another amp 7.1 flaw. After you have connected, my Surround 7.1 Back speakers are treated as "high forehead.

  I can set up as 5/2.1, but then the surround back speakers are calibrated correctly and have the height of output instead.

  The test for this output tone labels 'high front.'

  Shouldn't be able to choose 7.1 as my configuration option.

  How can I fix this so that they properly Surround Back?

  Honestly, the menu interface is clunky and non-intuitive. I spent a few hours without being able to understand. The non-geek consumer would be certainly more frustrated than i. spend two days on this make me rethink my choice of replacement.

  My HTPC sends 1920 x 1080 video via HDMI to the Sony APR: STR-DH520.

  Who then sends video to my Samsung Smart TV also capable of 1920 x 1080 via HDMI.

  However, the AVR adds a margin to the image such that there is one inch

  unused screen on the left and right and one half inch of unused screen up and down.

  When I connect the HDMI directly to the HTPC video card TV, there is no margin.

  The Windows 7 video driver knows he's talking to the Sony APR.

  What you are experiencing is called scanning. The only adjustment to change will turn the PASS THRU feature it so the TV does not see additional CEC via the HDMI connection protocols.

  If this not reslove the issue, are there any changes of the Samsung Smart TV to the mapping of pixels? These settings are usually in the settings screen called display area. If it's characteristic is present in the TV menu mark an attempt to reduce it by-1 or - 2 or increases by + 1 or + 2.

  When I play a blu - ray disc BDP-S590 blu ray player through a STR-DH830 video whites there an HDCP problem. Is it possible to disable DHCP. It only happens when I play a blu - ray disc. When I play a DVD disc, there is no video cutting.

  I run TestStand 2010 SP1.

  I have a LabVIEW VI that generates a 64-bit unsigned integer value.  At each performance of the sequence, I want to test the new value of the VI against the previous value of the VI even.

  I wanted to compare the numbers with 'digital' limit test but it errors tab limits with "expected number, found number {unsigned 64-bit integer}.  So I used the ' pass/fail Test' instead.

  I want to display the numbers however.  If I pass the value of the unsigned 64-bit integer to the Str function, the number is displayed, but as a negative number!  Is this a bug in TestStand?
