  I had a class (written by someone else) which has (among others) 1800 lines in a switch statement. I added 3 lines for a single case and started having the problem. When I removed the three lines, the problem disappeared.

  Had to start out of the logic in the instructions box in methods separate, then liquid, does a deep refactoring even when job. I finally got up and compile again.

  One of these cases where the client says "but it's only a few lines of code, right?

  

• Win XP in a strange state

  I have a pretty old desktop running Windows XP sp2. He is in a bad state because when I turn on the computer (no password by the way) newspaper in perfectly fine and then the trouble begins. I can move my mouse and activate the Task Manager but if I try to click on the desktop icons or the Start button nothing happens. The home key on the keyboard does not work either and when I move the mouse to the taskbar, there always the hourglass icon mouse so I can't do anything. I started in safe mode and used Malwarebytes to clean malware that might have caused the problem. There was a lot of worms (about 300 :/) and I'm sure that malwarebytes erased after having completed a comprehensive analysis and asked to restart to complete the process.) After the reboot, the same problem persists. On a side note, when I installed Malwarebytes, there was some sort of notification of an error (I really do not pay attention to it) does not affect the program (at least physically; it was still running) but for some reason I couldn't change the tabs to look at IE: put in quarantine, last scan, etc while it was scanning.

  Hoping there is a way to solve this problem

  2. what VERSION of WIndows XP is installed on the PC? (Pro, Home or MCE?)
  3. do you have a genuine Windows XP installation CD that MATCHES the version installed on your PC?
  4. you have access to a clean and functional PC that can go online and burn CDs?
  5. do you have access to an external hard drive?
  6. in your next post, include the text of your most recent scan of MalwareBytes. The .txt file may be found here:

  Preliminary advice: although it would be theoretically possible to get rid of the rest of the infections of malware, the better will be to save all your data and format your drive and reinstall Windows XP ITSELF.

• PE T610 - Perc 6i - strange state after adding additional drives

  We have a PE T610 with a PERC 6i controller.

  X SATA 1: 2 250 GB virtual disk in a RAID-1

  X SATA 2: 3 500 GB of disk virtual in a RAID-5

  We have added 3 additional 2 TB drives to the server.  A drive has been designated as a Global Hot Spare.  Two other readers have been added to the Bay RAID-5.

  I predicted, using 500 GB each among the readers added two for Virtual Disk 2.  Then, I had planned to use the other 1.5 to among the readers as Virtual Disk 3 in a RAID-1 array.  I did it with other servers in PE in the past.

  But after that the 500 GB is used from each of the discs, I can't used the remaining unused space.  It shows the 'available RAID disk space' as 0.00 GB.

  Why the remaining space on these disks is not available for me to use?

  This was allowed on a VERY small number of controllers found in Dell servers.  Anyway, you can do that on 6 PERC.  You can replace your existing 3 drives with 2 TB drives, then create a second table (6 to) on the disks (all disks in a disk group must have the amount of space available and impossible to replace the drives with the greatest and to increase the existing RAID array size).

• 600xt only occasionally don't market/wake... light green on the AC adapter is released... strange

  In the last 3 weeks or so our TouchSmart 600xt goes into a strange state 4 different times... have been left unattended for a period of time that we return to find the machine seems to be off and does not turn on via the power button (the button on the top right of the screen). He's usually asleep after 20 minutes, and if the Start button / stop he sleep will be orange glowing... in this case the light turns off completely. In addition, in this case the green light on the power adapter is not lit. The behavior of power adapter is quite out of the ordinary; its light never seens is disabled, even if the PC is turned off completely. But it is when this happens.

  The only recourse seems to be to unplug the power adapter, and then plug it back, after which the green light on the adapter lights, the power button lights up and the machine can be turned on by the power button.

  Concerned we will lose some files if stops keep occurred. We had the machine almost a year and this is a new behavior in the last 3 weeks.   I have come to resolution on this, but in a quite ridiculous way, with HP. My machine is under warranty so I called HP support. They have paid shipping for me to return the PC. The shipping box included explicit instructions, not to include the power adapter. I've included anyway so they could use it in the trials, including a note on the behavior and I figured the adapter not the PC. They I returned the PC with a note saying they were unable to repro the problem, and highlighted with a copy of the notice with the part that I intentionally did not follow! The log files indicate this was true, but he had not yet left on the MTBF I mentioned in the note... So even if they had used the adapter in the test, which is not surprising. The problem reappeared in the days at home. I called again. They paid shipping again. I've included the adapter again. This time they kept the PC on in the laboratory for several days until something of villain that has happened with the graphics drivers... not the unexpected loss of power and not something that I've never seen before in the newspapers. They replaced this material returned set. The problem reappeared in the days at home. I called one more time and said ' Please, can you just send me an AC adapter...   It sounds like a video driver issue, but it can also occur when another application interacts with the video driver somehow. I could start by restarting in Mode safe mode and see if Illustrator can handle the screen without these problems. If the game is played on your system, they can sometimes leave the GPU in a strange state.

• Error with iTunes in Windows 10

  So I have a strange problem.

  What is happening is iTunes opens (perhaps more slowly than normal? Unconfirmed), but will enter a strange state. This will be repeated at random, sometimes when the program starts immediately, other times, a few minutes after. It also leaves this State at random, often after a few minutes, but only for a millisecond. Rarely, it will leave for a few minutes. The only way that seems reliable to enter this State is to plug in my iPhone. The only way to leave he must have the Task Manager kill the program, and then reopen it.

  In this State, it will not meet order entries and seems to freeze, but Windows does not recognize it as an error of gel. It will also continue to play any song that was playing before its entry into the State, but not go to the next song, when it ends (it will be however if she leaves the State).   General advice for troubleshooting when iTunes is unable to properly install (and reinstall or repair it does not) are to remove not only iTunes, but ALL the components, restart, remove the target installation files and reinstall.

• Satellite P100-347 - DVD player is no longer visible in Windows XP MCE

  Hello. My DVD players seems to have disappeared from within Windows MCE running on my P100-347. BIOS can see it, it opens and closes without any problems and the light comes on as if the disc is read, but it is not considered by Windows as a disc.

  I installed the DVD - RAM drivers on the Toshiba site, but this did not a bit of difference. Any suggestions?

• The VPN box can never be activated

  I've updated the firmware to V1.0.1.10 and for the life of me I can not VPN service to allow.

  The steps:

  1. go on the VPN page in the settings advanced

  2 Select the option activate the VPN Service

  3 page Web refreshes, but the radio button is now clear

  I tried to go back to factor settings, but it simply doesn't. I use a static IP address and it should work properly but TBH VPN simply never worked. Someone at - it ideas?

  Thanks for the screenshot. It seems that your controller is in a strange state.

  The fastest (and more severe) solution is probably to reformat your controller as described here.

  There was at least a variable I/O naming fixed number in BT 8.6.1, so if you have this maintenance release you may want to install it.

  If you want to OR to investigate the status of your order please post that your project zipped upward and also the image of the controller zipped upward (use Windows Explorer for FTP to the controller and copy it.)

• Cannot change system settings in Vista

  My Vista machine is in a strange state where I can't seem to change all the settings. For example:

  Opening Control Panel and clicking on "Classic view;" changes the display but the next time I open the Panel it's return to the standard mode
  Opening of "Folder Options" and selecting "Show hidden files and folders" having no effect. next time I open the Folder Options, it's back to the 'hide hidden folders ".
  * Every time I open IE, I get the dialog box "IE is not your default browser." I select 'Make IE my default browser' but that selection, never 'stick.' I am warned again the next time I open IE. Ditto for the client to Outlook e-mail and by default

  Also and apparently my Start menu not displayed any programs recently used or pinned items.

  I did a system restore to a point at which everything worked - didn't help, so it doesn't seem to be a registry setting that does this.

  Any ideas?

  I suggest you run a full scan of viruses and malware.

  Also a scanner of SFC.
  To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

  1. Click on launch, and then type cmd in the box to start the search .
  2. Right-click cmd in the programs list and then click run as administrator.
  3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue
  4. At prompt command, the following line, and then press ENTER:
     sfc/scannow

• Behavior of the ADV change corrupt Excel File Types?

  I entered a strange state Excel.  I don't know how. ERGO, I don't know how to reverse the trend.

  All of a sudden, when I click on a file icon to open an Excel file with macros, I am invited twice to activate the macros (medium security).

  Specifically, if I start Excel (new book), add a dummy macro (Sub doit() / End Sub), and save Book1.xls, when I then click Book1.xls, I get two guests enable macro.

  I suspect that this began after I was experimenting with different Types of files advanced under Tools > Options for files in a folder.  I did not notice the problem then because I couldn't have clicked on a file icon for the Excel file with macros.

  Note: I think that the root cause, twice, opening the Excel file may exist even for files Excel without macros.  It simply may not be obvious without the enable macro prompt.

  Also note: I don't get the enable macro double guests when I open the file in Excel, for example by clicking on the name of the file in the list of recently opened files in Excel.

  Unfortunately, I do not know what that file type Advanced had my experiences.  Currently for XLS, they are:

  New:
  Action: ' "C:\...\EXCEL."» "EXE" / e/n %1
  The DDE message: [new ("%1")]

  Open:
  Action: ' "C\...\EXCEL."» EXE' / e '%1 '.
  The DDE message: [open ("%1")]

  It would not surprise me if the reference for %1 in the action line is redundant and root cause of the problem.  It does not appear in the line of action on another PC.  (Old Excel 2003 puts up-to-date and perhaps more older MSWin XP SP3 updates to date.)

  But if I try to delete the reference %1, XP (?) restored automatically, but without the quotes in the line of action "open".

  In other words, if I change the %1 and reference '%1', click OK, and then click on Edit again, %1 (without the quotes) reappears at the end of the two lines of action 'new' and 'open '.  The same is true if I close the file Options window, then re-open it.

  If I remove the double quotes in the "open" action line, I do not receive guests enable double-macro.  However, I get several errors when I click on the icon of the Book1.xls file in a Temp folder, namely:

  C:\Documents.xls is not found
  and.xls is not found
  Settings\Joe\My.xls is not found
  Documents\Temp\Book1.xls could not be found.

  Despite these errors, the Excel file is opened correctly.

  Note that the full path is "C:\Documents and Settings\Joe\My Documents\Temp\Book1.xls".

  This brings me to two tentative conclusions:

  1. the double quotes around the %1 in the line of action are needed for a path with interstitial spaces can be interpreted correctly.

  2. the file is indeed open twice, once for %1 in the line of action and again for %1 in the DDE message.

  On this basis, the prompt enable double-macro is not surprising when %1 is replaced with '%1' in the line of action.

  I can work around the double-open by editing the DDE message for the 'open' action, leaving '%1' at the end of the line of action.

  But that changes the behavior to open two Excel files by clicking on their icons in file, namely: each file is opened in a separate instance of Excel instead of the same instance.  Ironically, it is the alternative behavior that I was experimenting with some days; and it might even be the behavior that I prefer.  I'm mulling over always pros and cons.  (Which I am fully aware of and need any help understanding.)

  But the point is: it wasn't always the case.

  So the question is: how to make (less intrusive) to restore Excel to its previous behavior, only enable macro prompt and probably open the file only once and when I click on file icon in a folder by opening multiple files within the same instance of Excel?

  I certainly want to avoid to uninstall and then reinstall Excel.  I also want to avoid going back to a recent restore Point, since I'm not sure what desirable changes, I could have done in the meantime.  I am not opposed to editing the registry, if someone can tell me exactly what change to make.

  (Change my macro security to avoid any incentive is also not a viable alternative.)

  No doubt, this could be a matter of Excel, is not a matter of XP.  I'll post a similar question to Excel answers appropriate Forum.  I don't like the multi-post; but I don't know how crosspost, which is even supported by the Forum of answers.  However, I wonder if a XP-savvy person could recognize and solve the problem more quickly than a generalist to Excel.

  I use Office Excel 2003 SP3, Excel 11.8169.8172 version, and MSWin XP Pro SP3 update 29/03/2009.

  I know I'm behind in updates.  But all I ask is to restore the system (XP or Excel) to a State that worked fine before.  'Before' what I can not say with certainty; but certainly some time in the last week or two, during which I did no major changes to the system other than experimenting with File Types.

  I _-u-me that XP or Excel update is not necessary, unless someone can point to a specific patch since the 29/03/2009, which solve my specific problem.

  If I go to "printers and faxes" and click "Fax Setup" I see a printer called "fax" appears momentarily in the list of printers, but I get an error pop up on "no default e-mail client, please run outlook and set it as the default mail client", then disappears from the fax printer.  The system event viewer shows start the fax, the printer service which are initialized and stopped and deleted!

  My boy me I confused... Help, please.

• Windows 7 think no driver USB there is for the HP LaserJet 1200 printer

  When I plug my HP LaserJet 1200 printer in my Windows 7 laptop via a USB cable, the correct driver should install automatically, but it does not work.  The message error is "HP LaserJet 1200 printer doesn't have a driver', which is not true.

  This driver used to work properly on Windows 7.  It is suspected that HP could inadvertently, recently broken the driver.  Do you have someone at HP, or at Microsoft, typo or mistranscribe the string 'HP LaserJet 1200' in a version of the driver, or in a catalog that refers to a newer version of the driver?

  To be clear: I is not a smart solution that puts my system in a strange state, I do not understand, or want to try different things that might work, but (as far as I know) could corrupt vaguely a few hidden files or reference system.  My system is now in a clean and orderly condition.  I wish him stay that way.

  I'm looking for the standard driver auto installation correctly according to the standard method, as it should.

  Since the first meeting of the problem, I erased from my hard drive and reinstalled fresh (not just recovered, rescued or updated, but wiped and freshly reinstalled) my operating system to Windows 7.  It made no difference.  Therefore, the problem seems not to be a problem with my installation.  It seems rather to be a problem with the driver, a catalog that refers to the driver or something of the sort.

  I guess that you will NOT see a list for the Laserjet 1200.  Before you add it, however, click the "Ports" tab  You have a Port which is presented as "DOT4_001" (the number may be different at the end)?

  Unplug the printer if it is connected.

  Back to the tab drivers, click "Add" and you can start the Add Printer Driver Wizard, which is very similar to add an assistant of the printer that you saw earlier.

  Click on 'Next' and check the box next to your system - x 64 for 64-bit and x 86 for 32-bit.

  Click "Next", select "HP" and "Laserjet 1200 Series PCL 5" and click "Next"

  Click 'Finish' to close the wizard

  You must return to the Ports of the print server properties tab and now the driver for the "Laserjet 1200 Series PCL 5" should be included in the list

  Close the print server properties window

  Restart the computer

  Connect the printer.

  It installs correctly now?

• [Playbook WebWorks] Behavior of the entry element

  Do not know if Miss me just something, but...

  I am building a little app for HTML/JS/CSS to be compiled by WebWorks in a Playbook application and tested in the Playbook Simulator (v0.9.2).  Essentially, everything looks good, and I love it.

  A very strange situation appeared, however, when I use HTML5elements as a way to select a value.  They make it very well and seem to even work very well themselves.  However, selection/move slider control of range - element in the Playbook Simulator somehow makes all the rest of the page (buttons, etc.) unclickable.  Specifically, buttons subsequently always visually normally respond to clicks, but all scripts attached to their click events (who have done very well before the range element has been addressed) are not executed.

  A double-tap anywhere on the screen of the page / seems to cancel this strange state, and clicks on the new buttons fire their click event handlers.

  This problem does not occur in browsers based on webkit running Windows (for example, Chrome or Safari), just to the WebWorks-setting day running app in the Simulator Playbook.

  Where I am is not clear, I have also attached a sample basic HTML test attempts to illustrate the issue.

  Is it me?  I'm just missing something stupid?  Or...?

  Thanks for finding this and bring it to our attention.  I think you've discovered a flaw of web rendering engine.  I can confirm that the keyboard does not automatically appear during application development at the entrance to the fields, after interaction with a field in the range.  You can always manually open the keyboard by sliding the left low bevel angle towards the center of the screen.
