Generally the recovery image installation should not be problematic.
A few months ago I ve installed Win8 recovery image on friends laptop U940.
If I m remembering well, I just choose recovery image installation (out-of-box) and the recovery image has been successfully installed.

There was no some don't troubleshoot option.
Start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. Put recovery media in the optical disc drive, choose the CD/DVD/BD drive in the menu and press ENTER.

Just follow the on-screen menu and choose recovery image installation (State out-of-box).

  • A few questions about the recovery image installation

A recovery USB drive created using the Recovery Media Creator contains the Windows operating system and is it the Windows key to reinstall - how it is activated. Is it different for the repair disk.

Can be used for a new installation of Windows 7 on a new SSD? Is this just a case of connection and the recovery disc running on the new drive to th? How the recovery Partition can be re-created on a new SSD?

    Drop Hello

I can see user Justinian gave detailed answers, and I hope you understand how it all works now. Of my overwiev aside:

    What exactly is recovery image?
+ Recovery image is an exact copy of a hard drive and contains the exact copy, byte by byte, a hard disk partition. The copy includes all the partition information, sectors priming, the table of allocation of files, installation of operating system and software application different. +
+ You are using installation Recovery CD/DVD/USB, you can restore your system after heavy data loss, caused by an accident of operating system, hardware failure or complete virus attack. +
+ Recovery image installation procedure allows the installation of system and easy to user. Unfortunately, it is not possible to restore only certain files from a disk image. +
+ Each recovery image is designed for a specific model laptop and it cannot be used for any other series of notebook. +

With other words, recovery image is a software package that contains Windows operating system, all the drivers needed for some portable model, Toshiba tools, utilities, and also some other software. A lot of people don't like these additional software, but no you don't have to use it. all things you don't like you can remove it from the system.

    Activation of recovery image:
When you buy the phone model you also purchase the license for the preinstalled OS version that you get with your machine. After start and contact to the internet OS will be checked and activation will be valid.

Please note: you can reinstall original image recovery 100 times if necessary. There is not a kind of limitation, and whenever it will be activated.

Take care of your recovery media (DVD/USB). Do not lose it.

Of course, it can happen that you do not find your recovery media. In this case you can order.

  • 8 flow HP stuck on recovery: 8 HP stuck on the recovery flow

    Dear friends,

I have a flow 8 Signature Edition, as soon as the update of windows 10 has been launched, I installed it. After that, I tried to reset the tablet to get a clean install and erase all my data. It got stuck, and after much research, I got the Tablet via a cable otg with the recovery image on an sd card.  At the procedure and went smooth until I got to the screen where I have to decide clear or not module TPM. I want to click 'Yes', but because that I do not connect a cable otg and touchscreen keyboard is disabled I'm not going anywhere. It was a touch on the beginning of the procedure but now its stuck on the screen that I mentioned previously (see photo below). Tried to touch, buttons, power + volume down, connect the keyboard or mouse, even empty the battery and recharge. Nothing has worked, still stuck. What can I do? Even if I have to reset everything again is there a solution? Thank you

Hi, I can not see the image yet, try holding down both the volume up and volume down at the same time turning to reset the BIOS.

  • How to install the recovery image?

I wanted to format the hard drive and re start the use of my laptop from the first day I got it. Whenever I start my computer, I get a message «...» Swith on your computer, press F8 and choose "repair your computer"... »

    Okay, all right.

But I tried several times but I only see F2 or F12... I pressed F8 many times and I never get access to repair your computer or something else. The F8 key is denied and I'm done with Windows startup.

    What I am doing wrong?

    TIA

    Concerning

    Francis

Just for your info: very good Toshiba document with a detailed description on installing HARD drive recovery you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

I really put t understand why you can not enter the advanced startup options. When you start your notebook F8 repeatedly press. Try again.

By the way: you have created recovery such DVD than recommended in the document of Toshiba s user manual?
You can use this disk for recovery image installation.

I have HP's ENVY h8 PC bought two years ago. Last week, I tried to update my OS to Win10 - in any case - I made the backup of the downloaded and installed on USB recovery Image Win10. Don't like it, then

because win 10 deleted the entry of the new filming, I use my USB key to back to Win 8. After some problems, I successfully restored my old BONES, but it does not recognize the partition of

the recovery Image - neither the original nor the USB.
I mean, if I go to settings-> change the PC-> General settings-> delete everything and reinstal windows-> start-> Reset your PC-> next it says: cannot find the files needed

Is it possible to fix this?

    Ladies and gentlemen: PROBLEM SOLVED...

I have successfully restored my PC in its original configuration - if you want, I can write how separate article make (fix Recovery Manager and problem with Recovery Manager not seeing original missing recovery Image).

@veilendank10: thanks for trying to help, but my problem is of a very different nature.

If the Recovery Manager is very convenient for some maintenance tasks, should not be required. You can still download the drivers for your HP support page if necessary. The F11 to perform a recovery should still work because the files are there in the D partition.

However, if you burn your recovery disks before removing the Recovery Manager, it would be a good idea to order them from HP. Bribery of HDD or a failure requiring replacement you will need to start the machine to reinstall Windows.

  • Installation interrupted and stuck at the recovery screen

It's a new hard drive and during the installation process of vista that power was cut off, now at the start of the central unit, it goes directly to the recovery screen and will not continue.

We have all discs from nec for vista and drivers and others.

    Help, please

Go to the command prompt in recovery and type format c:\ Enfironment and enter.  This will wipe the drive clean of everything so you can start fresh installation.  Then try to reinstall.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to install the recovery image on Satellite A200?

Hi all, I would like to do a restore to factory for my Satellite A200
I checked their hard drive and confirmed that the recovery partition is still there

When I want 0 and turn on the laptop, rather than the beep and the warning screen, need me only to windows Boot Manager page
So I pressed F8 and choose repair computer, I read that I can also start the recovery process by choosing toshiba Recovery Wizard
But when I press the Recovery Wizard, the cdrom eject and tells me to put in the recovery CD (which I did not)

What bothers me is I checked the recovery partition is there but I can't find a way to start the process
Someone knows the solution? Or there is another button to press when you start the machine?

    Thank you very much!

In your case the drive HARD recovery isn't possible
So in this case only the Toshiba recovery disc can bring notebook to factory condition.

You have not created the recovery disc in the past well. Given that the recovery partitions seems to be available on the HARD disk, you can try this workaround

    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm

It should be possible to create a USB flash memory key or a disc using image files which are available on the bootable recovery partition.

In the worst case if this procedure is not possible, you need to install the clean Microsoft Windows operating system. Essential drivers may be downloaded from the driver page.

  • How to install the recovery image on Satellite Pro A300?

I have a Satellite Pro A300 and I need factory reset. I learned from my teacher of computers there is a unknown virus on this subject. Apparently, it has been downloaded when I downloaded Malware bites. I got the laptop free of Set - BC because I muscle Handi-trophy and get tired of writing.

My teacher told me that I need to Factory Reset, but when I got the laptop, she had everything installed on, (kurzwell, Chrome, etc.) so I don't have the disc to factory reset. In addition, the virus has disabled everything that has anything to do with the internet, (Chrome, for example, Firefox, Outlook, malware bites, etc.).

Y at - it all means I have factory reset the laptop without the need of the disc.
    Any suggestions will help.

    Thank you

  • Stuck on the recovery disc #1

I am trying to create a disk recovery for my new dv3-2150.

The Recovery Manager HP telling me to put in the 1st 3 DVD-r

After burning it, it ejects the disc and writes a message on the screen:

Enter the disk you just created and close the player.

I do this - and nothing happens... the only thing I can do is "Cancel".

Tried to change the drive, tried to boot... Any IDE?

BTW-can not order by post the disc of HP recovery at this time.

    Solved!

I called the local support and that's what they said and it worked right away:

    (1) use the secure when burning discs

    (2) ESS 'dvd + r disks' - they are more sutale for the dvd player

BTW - some support centers will tell you to upgrade the BIOS, some have told me it back to the original version. In my opinion it made no difference and the safe mode was the reason why he's working. I guess that some files are currently in use and had all stuck...

My Pavilion DV7-6100 has a recovery image of HP on a D: drive.

I can easily recover starting laptop with F11.  Nice and easy solution, he likes.

My question is: can I update/rationalize this existing image with new updates and applications that I installed?

    It would be great!

You could make a disk image of your entire hard drive, use it as a recovery solution.

Files should always be saved externally because a hard drive can die at any moment.  All files that are not saved are to be evaluated as worthless.

But you can save files on hard drive USB flash or external operating system starts plu using copy paste & - in the Windows Recovery Console with your support of OS install kicked, or by downloading and burning to CD with Windows Image Burner Paragon Rescue Kit Free Edition free 11.0 on another PC.

If you have the Windows 7 DVD or CD repair, try to run Startup Repair to obtain best results.  If this fails and you still want to try and fix it so all that can be done here is for Troubleshooting Windows 7 fail to start .  I'll help guide you through these repairs, if necessary, to answer here, because I'm more seven forums.

At some point, you can jump to a clean reinstall Windows 7 which includes everything you need to get and maintain a perfect installation.  Be sure to remove all partitions during the installation of punt.

Once installed, completely updated, activate, then follow the upgrade to Windows 10 - Microsoft

You can get around get Windows 10 app in the system tray to install Windows 10 using the media - Windows help authoring tool.

Check the box in the first option to automate the process or select 'to another PC"to create bootable flash media or download an ISO to burn it to a DVD with the drive of Windows Image.  Now you have media to reinstall or need repairs.  But to run the upgrade, it must be opened in Windows 7/8.1, click right installation to run as admin file.

To improve chances disable the upgrade everything at startup:

In Windows 7, type msconfig in the start search box, clear all the options on the tabs Services and start-up, after masking all the Services of Mrs.  Apply and restart.

Uninstall any antivirus except Defender.  Bloated AV like Norton, MacAfee, AVG and Avast need to have special tools to remove uninstallers (removal tools) for common - antivirus ESET Knowledgebase software.

Stick with the Defender into Windows 10 for better performance and protection.  If get infected you add inexpensive real-time protection of the best-in-class free Malwarebytes malware scanner.  I would also periodically scan with SUPERAntiSpyware or the most powerful AdwCleaner, also best-in-class and free.
