Supervisor password

I have deleted accedentily the windows account with which the supervisor password is set, and now I can't change it or delete more using my own account. When I start the toshiba console software and don't choose security there no option to choose.

I know the password so I am still able to use the computer laptop but is anyway to change the password, I tried to reinstall the account, but it does not work.

Is it possible that I have the option to change the password again.

Hi Herweijer,

Can you tell us more about your laptop? What model do you have?

    Hi all
I've been locked out of my bios and I don't know the password. My little brother was playing with my laptop computer and accidentally set the supervisor password. Is it possible that I can recover the password or reset it? I really need to change my boot sequence as I just bought a new SSD and need to format my laptop. Suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Here's my version of bios and details of laptop

    Toshiba satellite Pro C660-29W

    CPU Intel Core i5 2410 M

    8 GB Ram DDR3

BIOS: BIOS FRIEND - installation utility Aptio
    BIOS system ver: 1.50
    THIS Version: 1.50

    Thank you

Supervisor password is very important safety device and a kind of reset of the user is not possible. You can cancel it, but you must know the correct password to confirm that you are the real owner computer laptop.

Toshiba provider in your country can help you with this. You just approve that you are owner of the laptop, and they can cancel it for you. Of course, you must pay for it.

As far as I know, there are several techniques for the removal of password and it depends on phone model.

Contact the closest Toshiba ASP and ask for help.

Usually, you can remove it by using the password of Toshiba utility.

In Toshiba Assist-> Secure, you will find the supervisor password and user password option.

    Hello

On this that I can only say, check your user manual! ;)

There, I created the following information:
    + C:\Program Files\Toshiba\PassowrdUtility\TOSPU.exe+
+ This utility allows you to do the following: +.
+ Register, remove, or change the supervisor password.
+ Create or cancel a supervisor password token +.

Check this and then you should be able to remove the password if you know the current.

  • Portege M780 - supervisor password asked after sleep

    Hi all

I think that hadou a bug in the BIOS M780. I put only a password the supervisor of all the 100 - odd machines we have. There are no other security settings enabled and when a computer falls into a deep sleep (ie. after a few hours) they get invited to enter the supervisor password when the awakening of the machine.

All computers are running the latest version of the BIOS (2.10) and WIndows 7 64-bit. As we are a school we want to prevent children from starting from CD, etc..,.

    I have configured the Security section of the BIOS as follows;

    User password: not registered
    Supervisor password: saved
    HDD1/SSD1 Mode password: < user only >
    HDD user password: not registered
    TPM: disabled >

Help or confirmation of the issue would be appreciated. See you soon!

UPDATE: I have since discovered that the problem exists when waking up from hibernation, no sleep. I disbaled it via Group Policy for the management of the "Balanced" diet that has solved my problem now, although this behavior should not yet happen.

Your laptop is not model portable American and you must use drivers of European support page.
For now, Toshiba has not begun support Win7, but I hope it will happen soon. The question is if your laptop model will be supported Win7.

In any case, I think you can use touchpad driver designed for A300, but it takes that Toshiba offers all drivers.

  • Re: Portégé R700 - how to reset the BIOS/supervisor password?

    Hi all

I just bought a used Portege R700 and want to reinstall Windows.
I can't access the BIOS due to a configuration of PasswordUtility from Toshiba supervisor password. The previous owner did not provide this password.

    How can I reset it?

    Thank you

    Hi Spets

You cannot reset the BIOS password. It must be done by the Toshiba authorised service provider. I'm sorry.

If you need addresses and phone numbers, you can find it on Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP.

  • Invalid supervisor password satellite A60-124 HELP Please!

I put a supervisor password, while I was on Windows xp.
I wanted to put the password: "nonhyj14 'but I failed & entered' nonhyj &'". It's stupid because I'm a student in computer science. I have no shift key before pressing button 1 & 2 buttons. So when I started my laptop, windows not started and there is no start. Immediately after the message "in contact with toshiba" I saw "password:". I entered "nonhyj &'"but due to the fact that the characters"&"and"'" are special (that's what I read after I put my password probably not in my laptop documents) my password didn't work. So I would like to know:
-If it is normal that windows will not start before I have to enter the supervisor password
-What can I do to access my computer? is there any generic password I could get? I read the password of the bios that the solution is on the hardware side, but I don't want to open my computer is brand new. Should I send my computer to the toshibarepair?
Please I need help & I apologise for my strange English

PLEASE, I BEG YOU. Is there someone who can help me?

  • Satellite Pro A200 - Supervisor Password Setup Utility fails

    Hello

I own a Satellite Pro A200-PSAE7E and a license to retail for Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition (with SP1) is installed.

Before installing Vista, I have updated the BIOS to the latest version available on the Toshiba site (http://it.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?service=IT).
    BIOS version is now 2.20 - WIN32

After the installation of the operating system, I started to install different drivers and utilities to download them from the Toshiba site.

When I try to install the "utility supervisor password" Setup fails with a box of message that says "serial number is not valid.
Same problem with a different Installer: "utility of Support Flash Cards.

Someone knows how to solve this problem and what serial number is not valid?

    Thanks in advance,

    mme000

    Hello Hana

If someone has to take care of the warning, it's Microsoft. They offer something new and they know with certainty that he could have different negative influence on the operating system running well.

Toshiba may just try to react and change has tools and utilities, but it's not easy. you will see that soon or later Toshiba will offer updates for all non-working stuff. The same is with WXP SP2.

  • Utility supervisor password does not work after update Vista

I updated my computer that I brought in October 2006 PSP AOE P100 227 to Vista.
I noticed that the supervisor password utility does not work. I downloaded the new software for this toshiba that was released yesterday but the wissard installation continues to indicate the serial number invalied...

    How to make this work?

    Hello

Did you choose the good laptop of form pilot?
Your laptop is Satellite P100-227 and serial number must begin with PSPA0E-xxxxx
Is why we choose the password since the P100 utility area (PSPA0E).
It seems now that the 1.39.50.7C version is the most recent.

Please post back if it works or not.

    Hello

The password of the BIOS and the supervisor password can be removed in the area of security of BIOS.

Please also check this Toshiba document.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0B032D0000R01.htm

In some cases, you need to press the "INS" in Toshiba logo appears.
Then appears a prompt for the password for the supervisor and if the password is certified then the BIOS could be entered by pressing the "F2" key
