Synchronization of two SMU 6537 in acquisition mode

Hello

I need to use two SMU 6537 in parallel for a digital acquisition, their examples of clock is synchronized and running at 50 MHz. In the manual, I can't know is possible to correctly route connections through PXI background:

-It seems that the path available only for export SAMPLING CLOCK in acquisition mode is 5 PFI, so no way to settle the two cards in a master-slave via the background.

-I don't see or can use the background 10 MHz REFERENCE for synchronization, because it seems impossible through the DAQmx driver to deliver this line as input for the time base and trigger (it is not even in the list of possible signal entries).

-The manual States that the maximum allowed value for an external time base is 50 MHz, whereas I need 50 MHz acquisition rate. I guess I should put in Sync synchronize databases internal time of the two councils through the background, but I can't figure out how.

Any suggestion on how to solve this problem?

Thank you, Piero.

Piero,

TO synchronize these cards, you must share the sample clock and a start trigger.  You should be able to send the sample for PXI Trig 7 line clock and use it for each of them.

Yes. You can use a RTSI cable between them. See the examples of the expedition. If you are using LabVIEW, look at several Synch - Analog Input - Cont Acquisition devices.

  • PXI-6534 replacement by SMU-6537

I am currently ordering and receiving data from a device to measure with the PXI-6534, LabVIEW and DAQmx on Windows.

Can I replace the PXI-6534 by an SMU-6537 without having to change anything to my hardware (will be in other words, the cable connections and advice sheet be compatible)? If so, the code written to communicate to the PXI-6534 will be reusable with the SMU-6537?

I'm really sorry, but I forgot to mention in my previous post that there is indeed an adapter that will allow you to use the same block that you used with the PXI-6534. You can find more info on this adapter cable on this link:

  • RESERVED on SMU-6537 pins?

In the help file for the SMU-6537, there is an illustration of "Front Panel and connector pinout" and a table.

The illustration shows pin GND 8.

However, the table below shows pin 8 as a RESERVED pin, * not * a GND.

I design a Board to interface with the 6537. I massage pin 8, or let it float?

    Hey Tom,

PIN 8 in the illustration should tell RESERVED and not mass, and therefore you must not connect. We will update the image in the next revision of the help file. So to answer your direct question, leave floating 8 pin (do not connect to it). Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you and have a nice day.

  • Use two assistants for the acquisition of data at the same time

    Hello

I want to read multiple data channels of analog inputs on my DAQ hardware. However, when I try to create two separate data acquisition assistants for each entry, it gives an error saying "is reserved for the specified resource. The operation could not be performed as indicated "." Can't use two assistants for the acquisition of data at the same time?

I have to add different channels in the same assistant DAQ? I tried, but I couldn't separate the data in different graphs.

    How does this work?

    Kind regards

    Allard

You can't have multiple tasks of the same type (in this case inputs analog) on the same device.  Just so having 1 DAQ Assistant read all your channels and separate your channels for individual transformation.

    HI guys,.

    (Q) what is the difference between roaming and mobility between two autonomous APs?

I configured two APs of stand-alone mode in root mode with the same settings (same wlan ID for two VLANs) wlan. How does choose between these two APs clients to connect.

I read a few docs and they said they will choose AP on the intensity of the signal. My question is, do I need to activate some kind of roaming/mobility between them so that if clients connected to an access point moving to the AP another area, they will automatically connect to AP with AP signal stronger.

Or how the roaming/mobility between two autonomous APs

    Thank you

    HI Safarazaz,

Info: About the connection to the access point, the customer makes the final decision based on the use, the power of the signal... etc.

So now we come to the point on homelessness:

IF you use a WPA/WPA2-PSK, then all you need to do is configure the AP exactly the same way, with the exception of the IP address on the interface BVI.

IF you use 802. 1 x, then you want to configure WDS to the cached key.

  • Help the records removed from synchronization between two databases

    Hi guys,.

I am new SOA and process management, so please bear with me.

I created composite simple synchronization using two Dbadapters. A DbAdapter to share records and others to insert and update data in another database. My question is how can I detect deletions and delete records in another database.

One of my friends told me to use DB triggers, but I want to do with SOA application using preferably the BPEL components.

    Any help would be useful.

    Thank you

You can query the database if records are soft deletion, survey in the soft deleted records and then update the database target.

If these are harsh destruction then the only thing I can think is: -.

Source database: select * from source

    Target database: delete all records

Target database: insert the records from the source.

    Other triggers would be best.

Select the reference image and choose window > secondary display > Magnifier (locked). Now the image you want to change, and start working. You can refer to the secondary display window while you work on the image you are editing,

If you have a second monitor attached, the entire second monitor may be the secondary display.

  • Continuous acquisition and synchronization of two scanners

    Hello!

I use two scanners high-speed NI PXI-5124. I'm running a continuous acquisition as in the attached example. I have two questions:

    (1) is it possible to make life-long using another source of trigger software INSTEAD?

    (2) depending on the answer to the first question - how to synchronize two scanners? In the attached example scanners have the same source of the clock, and they receive the same synchronization synchronization signal so the sampling rates are the same, but there is a lag of random phase each time I start the acquisition.

  • How to synchronize the analog input and the output of two different USB data acquisition boards

    Hi all

I have two tips very different USB NI USB 6008 case, which I use to acquire the data (analog input) and a USB of NI 9263 is a output analog only site I use to route a signal (in this case a square pulse). The reason why I use the outputs analog 6008 is because I need to deliver negative tension and need the full +/-10 v range.

Looking at similar positions, I'm pretty sure that I can't use an external trigger or a common clock, I also tried to use the timed synchronization of the structures but no cigar.

I'm including a quick vi I whipped showing how the jitters because of the lack of synchronization signal. The OD of the 9263 connects to AI in the 6008 in this example.

I talked to a specialist in the phone and tols me that's not possible.

  • Synchronization of two inputs frequency meter with several analog inputs

    Hi all

I'm relatively new to LabVIEW and I'm trying to collect data from multiple sources with calendar sync on the acquisition, but I can't understand. My problem is that I have two inputs frequency meter, an optical tachometer reading one pulse per revolution and a max flow meter machines with a 12000 k coefficient. I can't find a way to synchronize the calendar with my multiple analog inputs. I tried to first get the speedometer to synchronize with the analog inputs following the example linked here. (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-10785) So far every time I run it I get an error on the DAQmx read timeout or an error "several sample clock pulses have been detected" (see image).  It seems if I slow the way to down to say 10 hz and make sampling rate ensure that the tachometer signal is more than 800-1000 rpm (13-17 Hz) before starting the VI then the program will run without error until the ROTATION speed is below this threshold, then the "sample Multiple clock pulses" error occurs.  The code is attached below.

Does anyone know of a better way to synchronize the entries of frequency of the counter with analog inputs?  I would like to have a VI that can display 0 RPM (and possibly 0 flow as well, but I think I need to understand the timing of a meter before I have add another, because it seems that I can't have two counters to the same task). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    LabVIEW version 13.0

Chassis cDAQ-9178 with NI 9401 for both counter inputs and NI 9205 for the analog inputs.

I know the error requires to restart the task at least (this particular error puts the material in a State that cannot be recovered from during execution of the task - I've been down this road before) but I'm surprised that you would have to delete and re-create the task altogether.  And then I had to do this to workaround other questions in the past.  It is awkward and should be considered a bug, if this is indeed the behavior.

Honestly, regardless of this bug, the way the material dealing with the situation of several sample clock edges makes measures of sampling frequency clocked essentially unusable for purposes of synchronization (in my opinion anyway) If you encounter a more slow than your sample clock rate.  You are supposed to be "synchronization" of the measure, but it really no longer applies if you have to restart the task over and over again (if you must delete it or not).

Workarounds can get kind of creation (which isn't really a good thing).  For example, you can configure a measure of implicit frequency to keep a buffer of frequencies and use a leader board task (source is the frequency signal, sample clock is the sample clock HAVE) to establish a correlation between the index of your buffer of frequency for singing HAVE sample clock.

  • Synchronization between two periods loops FPGA

First of all, I appreciate the forums here and have read a lot of interesting topics. This is the first time I can't solve it with research and I hope for your entry.

    Information:

    I'm using LabVIEW 2009 f3, PXI-1033 with the PXI-7813R.

    Problem:
In my FPGA program, I have two loops, where you need to run as fast as possible (has) and the second just quickly (B). Has turns 20 MHz to 40 MHz and B . These are for the two loops limiting speeds. B cannot run faster and Has should not run more slowly.
Loop has captures the sensory information and integrates data as many loops as indicated by the user. When completed, please send a trigger to B, which calculates the new position information and sends it to the machine. Only at certain times, B must achieve something and said nothing to the rest of the time.

I thought of two ways, but doesn't work for me.

    (i) with the help of a Boolean trigger. As in a loop, the Boolean value of A can become true and switches to the next loop to false, B is not capture all the triggers and a 50% chance of getting the triggers and isn't perfectly synchronized.

(II) using the occurrences. Sounds very interesting, but these are prohibited between the periods differently loops.

I played with many scenarios, but may not understand proper. Someone at - it suggestions?

This seems to be a fairly simple producer/consumer scenario.

I would like to use a device worn FIFO to transfer data from the loop of producer (top) to the loop of consumer (bottom).

Depending on how often the producer generates data (each cycle or every nth cycle?) the case around the write FIFO structure will allow him to write only when your requirements are met.

The consumer loop reads the FIFO with a timeout of '0 '. When the FIFO is to expire, the consumer runs to the case which does nothing. When the FIFO does not expire, who processes the data and sends it to the side of Windows runs.

In my example, I used 2 structures of cases to illustrate the two different modes. In your code, you must use a single structure of matter.

There is no advantage to set a loop "sleep", even if no data exists on the FPGA. Because you are running in hardware and the non-profit CPU cycles these loops can operate simultaneously at no increase in the latency of a

    Hello Ihab,

Sorry for the late response here; just saw this message! If you want to keep synchronized modules then definitely stick with the master configuration and slave for your two modules. Note also that you can taste a little faster with the NI 9234 as your master module (since its time base main internal is 13,1072 MHz instead of the time base of the 9227 12.8 MHz).

Also, see the tips and information in our troubleshooting guide for the synchronization of the series C with LabVIEW FPGA modules:

    I hope this helps!
