System will tune up to fix my short DST hard drive.

My hp pavilion g7 froze yesterday after saying that it could not connect to the internet. I tried to restart. The hp logo comes on and then a point circle for about three minutes. Then the screen turns white, but it is still on, you can see a light blue on screen. Any way, I hit escape in and got the screen with the options. I ran the race in the test and the test to start. Both are back with hard drive DST short. Failure. Intelligent control in any case failure I've had is 64 x 950 - 6 h 9783-mfpx0k-60uc03. Help!

Yes, guaranteed manufacturer has exploded.

Your system came with 500 GB of HARD drive specifications: http

Through page 2, 3, & 41, 42 in the manual for HDD card replacement procedure.
If you have a screwdriver, it's pretty simple, just remove the battery, service coverage, unscrew the hard drive carrier HARD drive & replace.

It will be good:

Yes. Unfortunately, the hard drive failed. Use this ID to failure when you contact HP warranty service

If your laptop is still under warranty, then the replacement hard drive is free of charge for you.

Check the status of your warranty here.

If not in warranty, you can buy a portable 2.5 "SATA hard drive or disk SATA SSD with a capacity at least 256 GB. That capacity SSD suports the use recovery media.

  • HP s5-1554, H3L78AA #ABA: ID to fail the short DST hard drive: 90D9UC-0007NVWPWWWJ-60SU03

The computer was really slow so I tried to run VIPRE, but the computer was literally too slow for me to actually launch the scan. So I turned off and left for a while. So now she's stupid auto repair loop where I can actually use the computer. It was not yet let me into Safe Mode.

Then I ran the tests for diagnosis of HP UEFI and abbreviated Hard Drive DST Check failed, as the long version and tests components. All the tests no - drive past. Is the ID of the fault: 90D9UC-0007NV-WPWWWJ-60SU03. I couldn't find anything that matched this code, so I have no idea what it means.

I guess that means that the hard drive is faulty / failed, but I was wondering if there is anyway (not too hard) to solve this problem?

Any help is appreciated and thanks for those who respond.

Yes the drive hard failed, no way to fix it otherwise that replace and reinstall Windows using HP recovery media.

Once the old disk is removed, you can try to recover the data by plugging it on a different PC with a usb to sata adapter cable, see if Windows loads the player in the Solution Explorer, if it is a copy and paste any data that you need, copy it to the PC it is connected to as soon as possible.

Original title: need for disk space

Here are the official specifications of Toshiba for your PC...

    http://support.Toshiba.com/support/staticContentDetail?ContentId=638405&isFromTOCLink=false

All interface PATA (IDE) connectors are a standard 40 pin.

I know that there is no restriction on the mixture of ATA drives with different speed capabilities and no restrictions on what cable you use, whether 40 wire or 80 strand (but still 40 pins).

Faster drives will only work at the speed of the slowest car on any cable and 80 strand cables are needed to make ATA66 or higher drives run at their native speed.

In addition, no player can work faster than the motherboard chipset permits, in your case ATA66.

My provider of trade has still some disks 3.5 '' PATA in stock, but these are becoming harder and harder to find. Indeed, it is possible that production has ceased and that suppliers are just exhausted stocks.

I can certainly say that, when repairs this technology were more frequent, I never had problems with discs theoretically faster on the same cable as slower drives, nor by using faster on 40 cable strands discs. In fact, of many penny pinching manufacturers (some of them major) regularly used for the optical drive and hard drive on the same cable as the motherboard has two connectors, resulting in a decrease in performance on the disk hard (although most of the people would not have noticed the difference). Sometimes, the cable would be 40 strand (understandable if you are penny pinching) and sometimes the cable would be 80 strand (laughable if you are penny pinching because they are [were] more expensive).

Pass your question about vacant below the sound card. Unless your text confused me, this space is for expansion cards no disk drives. Space that you reference is probably to the back of the PC. Hard drives are normally located toward the front of the dedicated PC "berries". Unfortunately, I could find no photo on the Toshiba site, and still less those internal.

  • Loss of disk space available every day as System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive

My PC is under Windows7 Home Premium... version 6.1... Build 7601... service pack 1.

I have a 1 TB hard drive... 3 weeks ago, I've had approximately 813 gb free space... now, I have only 603 gb of free space. I noticed that the folder System Volume Information is passed to 209,53 Go. Don't know why this issue became so great. I lost about 5 to 20 GB of free space on the hard disk every day.

The System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive... Users folder is 43.38 GB... Windows folder is 31.89 GB... WinSxS folder is 15,18 GB.

I installed a couple of applications in the last 6 months... Driver booster... Download App... and size of file.

I didn't save my PC in the last 3 weeks because of this problem.

The only application that I use for backup is MotoCast USB... it creates a backup of the SD card in my smartphone to my PC.  I've been backup card SD in my phone every 3-4 weeks for the past 2 years but never lost so much hard drive space until the last 3 weeks.

  • HP short cell Test at startup - DST hard drive failed

    Laptop HP 2000-453-CA

    Product ID: A7T89UA #ABC

    64-bit Windows 8

    Failure ID: GLWG6K-00075P-MFKT01-60V403

My computer is 2 years old. Recently, he began to act, its been getting really slow and the temperature of the computer has increased very easily.

One day, when I turned on my computer, the screen is blank after the windows logo screen when you turn on the computer, and it remained empty forever. The screen was always backlit and occasionally I see the mouse cursor.

Once the recovery screen appeared when I turned it on, I tried all the options he had (except reset and refresh because he says he needs additional files and insert a recovery disc) and it still does not work.

Finally, I tried pressing ESC to boot and used the system diagnostics menu. I chose the test start and when he finished he said short hard drive DST: failure and starting Test: failed. Everything happened.

Please help... What can I do to fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi GRN123,

Error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem you describe.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

I hope you made a backup of your personal data and you did the recovery disks.

If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.

  • Satellite P100-188: recovery CD will install the SATA drivers on a blank HARD drive

I was wondering if someone could tell me if my recovery disk would be automatically installs the drivers for SATA HDD on my P100-188, in the case of a hard drive failure total without needing a floppy drive.

I've never had to use my recovery disc (touch wood), but I have the impression that it works in conjunction with a hidden partition on the hard drive in order to reinstall the operating system if and when necessary, I am not mistaken? If I'm so what happens if the hard drive is destroyed and a new disk? A

s Windows is not integrated SATA drivers I've read on the Internet that would stop dead in its tracks installation if you do not have a diskette at hand drive.

Someone had to deal with this problem?

    Hello

Yes, the restore CD installs everything you need in a single step.

The point is that the Toshiba Recovery CD is not the same as an original CD of MS Windows. The restore CD contains an image. It s a Pack that included OS Win, Toshiba drivers, utilities and software tools extra.

So, using the CD recovery will install all the applications mentioned, as well as the SATA drivers ;)

    Welcome them
