T400 battery

I have a thinkpad t400 2768 type.

It comes with a 14, 4V, 2.27Ah battery.

I have another battery 9 cells which corresponds to my laptop. However it has a lower nominal voltage of 10.8V and more Oh pf 7800 mah. I know that the different ah ratings are probably due to the number of different cells. I am worried however if issues of voltage difference.

Can I use the battery 9 cells?

Thank you.

the 9-cell battery on the T400 is suppose to have 10.8 volts, which is normal.

Hello I am a COMPUTER administrator in a firm but I just bought an opportunity T400 2767 - DY5 I love this thing, but the battery lasts only 20% of the initial charge. Now, I'm looking for a new battery, what is your oppinions on batterys guys should get a Lenovo or should I go the road of danger and to get scammed we just thought I ask before that I spend $ 167 on a battery,

    Thank you

    Welcome to the forum!

As your machine is probably not worth much more than $167 today, I would say 'no' to spend that much on a battery.

I recommend too strongly to get a generic third parties.

You can check the output of Lenovo and NewEgg is renovated section for batteries of real "renovated." Alone, I received one of these places was in fact new and purchased at substantial savings.

Personally, I'd buy a real gently used battery rather than a new generic.

Keep in mind that the T400 share the battery not only with R400, but with the 14 "version of T61 and R61 widescreen as well.

    Good hunting.

  • Eliminate the sound when T400 battery is discharged

When my Thinkpad T400 is on its battery and the battery running out of power, there are paramedics - like noise. I wonder how do I remove the annoying noise? Is there a setting in the BIOS? My OS is Ubuntu 12.04. Thank you!

Try going into the BIOS, then select "Config' then 'tone and alarm", together then select "Low battery alarm" invalid

  • My Lenovo T400 battery will not charge?

AC works fine. I took battery inside and out, cleaned the dust, etc. Still will not take a charge. Have also tried the reset and always in vain. I read somewhere about uninstalling driver and re - install an update and how it may work sometimes. How could I do this on a T400 safely and where could I find the new driver? Thank you

It the battery is older than a year, that's probably a failure.  replace a driver should not make a difference.

  • T400s "battery not installed" after updating to Bios (1.20)

    Hey,.

I have a problem with my T400s. It is a month and he now asked me to update the system software. I did it and it installed a lot of new drivers etc Inc. a Bios Update. (1.20)

The problem is now, who can't see the condition of the battery. (The battery icon remains Gray and says "battery not installed")

The work of computers very well (AFAIK) both on battery as power.

I checked the thinkvantage Toolbox diagnostics and there I can see the State of the battery (for example, discharge, 48%).

The latest versions of thinkpad power manager and driver ThinkPad power manager are installed.

I tried restarting the computer and remove the battery for a while, it does not work...

Someone at - it an idea?

Have you tried to reinstall thinkvantage Power Manager?

  • BATTERY FOR T400

Hi, is there a battery for thinkpad T400 12cell?

because my battery 9 cells can contain only 56% of its original capacity.

    Thank you.

No such battery does exist, not as a genuine product of Lenovo in any case.

  • T400 does not then start on battery

Title really sums it up. 3-year-old T400 starts fine while on the current, but on the power of the battery, no lights come on or anything when I press the power button. Initially, I thought it was the battery, but the new battery 9-cell, I ordered has not changed anything.

When I open the power manager, it is said that the battery 6 cells of origin has 0.0 amps and 11 V. said the same thing about the battery 9 cells. I'm willing to bet against Lenovo me sending a flat battery, but everything is possible. I tried to uninstall the power manager and resettlement; same thing. I tried to reset the battery CMOS/backup. The only thing I have not tried is a restoration of the BIOS. Currently, using the version 3.22.

    System Specs:

    T400 w / T9400 processor and switchable graphics

    Win7 x 64 Pro

Any suggestions would be very helpful. I would call Lenovo support, but most of what I found on CIHI points for them not being is not useful unless you are under warranty (which I am not).

    Thank you.

If cleaning does not work, then your laptop motherboard is most likely the culprit.

  • After say - and reconnecting battery CMOS, power supply T400s has stopped working

    Hi all

A few days ago, I had to say and then plug back the CMOS battery. After putting my T400s back together, the power supply in power did not work more (the computer is plugged in and power cable works fine with other computers, but it will not provide power to the T400s). Cannot charge the battery either!

A I unplug/break something in my quest for reset CMOS? There are simple things that I could try to get it working again?

    Thank you very much

    K

It doesn't have to be plugged into the power problem, but a discharge of static electricity isolated were able, then you could also try to reset the bios of the laptop again by removing the cmos battery.

Most likely, you've killed one of the power circuit element when you tried to remove the cmos battery without first statically discharging yourself.

  • The battery life for T400 Winsows 7

I just ugraded my new t400 for winsows 7. I noticed that the battery life is at about 02:30 hours even in power saving mode. I use the 9-cell battery. When I was on vista it is about 5-6 hours. Please can someone guide me what is happening here. My battery is dead. nothing to do with the parameter? is it related to the upgrade to windows 7. I just bought my system in June.

I changed the built-in graphical bios and disable the ATI graphics because I heard say that windows 7 do not support switchable graphics. My problem is solved and I new more than 6 hours of battery life.

  • Looking for icon of the T400 (on Win 7) battery indicator

I just upgraded to Win 7 64 bit... and I noticed Win 7 comes with its own icon 'battery' in white, sitting on my systray.

I remember that with my T400 on Win XP before I used for this neat battery indicator sitting on my systray icon (it was a picture of a battery translucent which has been fillded green when fully charged and becomes orange/red dark when exhausted).

I can't find the right software on the drivers page to download this indicator of return. Anyone know where to find?

    That would be Power Manager:

  • T400 - will not be turned on, no lights

    Hi all

I have an ' 09 beginning T400. It has been a fantastic portable, although now I only use it when I travel.

Last year it worked very hot, especially when playing games. I use a portable fan to cool, don't think that it checked because I don't use it very often.

Today it froze and I force shut it down by pressing the power button. When it is restarted it ran a disk check (I had a sleep and saw no results) and when it loaded windows he was running very slowly. After a bit of experimentation, I worked on the wifi and switchable graphics drivers were not working. I was able to get to a usable state by disabling the discrete graphics in the bios and boot into safe mode.

I was about to reinstll the drivers. While the download I tried to re - activate the discrete graph (in bios) and started. However, until I'm on the Boot Manager screen, I got a BSOD (c000021a). I turned off the laptop, but it wouldn't start again. None of the lights on the laptop work, even if it is plugged.

The only things I changed in the bios were switchable graphics (which I changed the default setting) and the "beep" on the hibernation. I don't know if the battery has a charge, they should be 100% it was plugged all the time. I noticed that the laptop was working very hot while working with it.

Our tech guy seems to think that the motherboard may have overheated and "fade", but I'll be away for a few weeks and he has no experience with Lenovo computers. "." So I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before, or if there are tricks to get the laptop begin again (if this isn't a motherboard problem)?

    Thank you!

    Try the routine of 10-30.

Remove the battery and unplug AC. Now press the button 11 times and on the 11th press hold for 30 seconds. Attach the AC and see if it boots.

This question poison old ThinkPad forever. I haven't found the true cause other than my age-related speculation.

  • ThinkPad T400 does not start, is turn on below the screen & turning HDD switch off in a loop

I put my Thinkpad T400 hibernation, but the next morning I couldn't start. When I press the power button, the lights under the screen turn on and I hear the sound of the hard drive and get it out. I don't even see anything on the screen. It is only black. The process continues to repeat in a loop, except if I press the power button to turn off.

I tried the static load, remove the thing.

I also removed the hard drive, put it back again, but not working anymore.

    Help, please.

    Solved the problem myself.

Removed the internal battery and reinstalled after 30 s.

It worked perfectly. Typing of him now.
