  POP3 is not a server name and we cannot tell you what it is if you tell us who is your server. Normally, it's who you ask the correct settings.

• Customer Web couldn't connect to VMware Lookup Service error with the old server DNS name

  I had a Vcenter server named virtualcenter.domain.com (192.168.1.10) with Vcenter 5.1 (with SSO, inventory, Webclient) on a windows 2008 R2 with a MSSQL2012 db.

  I tried to upgrade from 5.1 to 5.5u1 and he failed, Vcenter & Webclient installers have been crashing before you finish update

  So I decided to make a clone of my Vcenter and still have my production work while trying to update.

  My clone has been virtualcenter2.domain.com with a new IP 192.168.1.12

  I uninstalled everything for the webclient service that I had to clean files and registry entries manually, because he didn't find the uninstall program when I was clicking on uninstall.

  Then the installation went well, everything except the webclient service works very well

  WHY DON'T C:\ProgramData\VMware\ls_url.txt USE VMWARE to provide the URL of the LookupService for the Webclient service? During the installation provide you the URL for registration with SSO, why the hell isn't it written that URL somewhere and use it after?

  And why the hell with all the gel/reinstalling ALL THE COMPONTENT of the Vcenter, I did, this MUTE txt file has not been updated with the new DNS name of my server?

  In any case, my webclient is currently working, but 1 day of work and mental torture do not understand why the hell my client was not working due to a file text fucking, it's depressing.

  Here you have two options:

  (1) either use authentication: you must create a user account in exchange.

  (2) do not use authentication: let disabled authentication and configure exchange to relay emails from CWMS.

  "-What exactly does 'To ensure that the mail server can recognize this user'"?".

  "- What happens if the user name and password are not specified?"

  This means that if you enable authentication - create a user account for CWMS in Exchange. If this isn't the case, then have the exchange server that is configured to relay CWMS emails. Its simple allow only the ip address of CWMS in Exchange to accept and relay e-mail.

  If it does not means that you don't want to receive emails from CWMS and as you know email principal means of CWMS communicate with users.

  Simple way is to leave off authentication and configure the relay. I did this couple of times in the past without problems.

  I gave up trying to clone an existing config a spec just dynamically created in memory, and applied.  It was a LOT easier and had no password problems.

• SQL Server 2005 - using the SQL Service Packs on the VCS Server 2.5

  We currently have an installation of data center with 2 servers ESX 3.5 and 1 Server 2.5 VCS. Version 2.5 of VCS runs on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition. The system worked for a short period and we have a number of models and virtual machines in the test and production laboratories. I would like to know if it is possible to apply the Service Pack of SQL Server 2005 so that I can enjoy the Maintenace Plan features in SP1 from. Did someone already did call a Service Pack for SQL Server 2005 that is running an instance for VCS 2.5 with success?

  If so, please let me know the methods used and any useful links that you may have found on the subject?

  I went through the process, and it is no different from any other.  Stop just vc and make backups of db.  Then proceed as usual.  I haven't run into no problems so far, and I am currently in SP3 for sql 2 k 5.

  Our development team uses Microsoft TeamSystem (Team Foundation Server), and I wonder if I can use RoboHelp 7 and have the help sources of files under version control for Team Foundation Server.
  
  If possitive, including RoboHelp flavor do I need to buy, and how to I set up in roboHelp?

  For RoboHelp 7 integrated with Team Foundation (2005), I did the following (based on responses in this topic):
  1 uninstalled RoboSource Control. (Not sure if this is a required step)
  2. install the Team Foundation Client.
  3. subsequently the MSSCCI (as Amebr noted previously) provider installed.
  I now have the tab control of Source code in the tools > Options dialog box.
  4. I expect a file > Version Control > add to Version Control menu option, but after my update to 7.01 to 7.02, he disappeared (?).
  However, I had to show the toolbar of Version control, and then press Add to Version control icon.

  It gives me the opportunity to connect to Team Foundation server and check in the RoboHelp project files.

  We currently have ADR installed 2.0.9 on WLS 10.3.6 running on Windows 2008R2 behind a F5 load balancer. When load balancing sends connections to the server, we have configured everything first, everything works fine. When load balancing sends connections to the server to scale, we get the ADR page with "this facility has not yet been configured. The defaults.xml and related directories were created automatically on the second server. We tried to change the debug.debugger and debug.printDebugToScreen entries in the second server defaults.xml, but nothing happened. What do we lack? How set us the second server?

  The problem has been resolved. After looking at the directories and defaults.xml WLS created on the server to scale out, we thought that the configuration files were not created/copied from the original server. We ran the configuration of 'java-jar ords.war setup' on the second server, restarted the application of WLS and everything started working as expected.

• Disable the standy Server

  I want to disable my backup server and build the right from scratch.
  What are the steps to disable it?
  Also I restore all changes I made in my main database init.ora, if I'm turning off standby?

  To disable sleep mode delay logs from the primary database. Assuming that you have log_archive_dest_2 is set to the standby server, and then run the following query.

  SQL > Alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = "DEFER" scope = both;

  Connect to the standby server, and then delete the database. To delete the database, follow the steps described in the following link

• Cf11 and CF8 on the same server.

  I need to install cf11 on the same windows Server 2008 as an existing installation of cf8.

  I know that it would be preferable to have 2 servers, but in this case it is not an option open to us, so I need specific help with the 2 installs.

  The current CF8 using IIS7.

  I did a bit of the spade work, and I think that the best way to do it cleanly would install a 2nd web server, such as apache on windows, and then configure it with CF11.

  I had hoped that I could actually install CF11 and simply configure iis specific sites with it, hoping it would leave intact the cf8 configured sites.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  If you have 2 webistes, one that you want to run with ColdFusion 8 and others you want to run with ColdFusion 11 on the same server then yes it is possible. However, two versions of ColdFusion do server same site on the same server.

  Launch the Web of CF8 Server Configuration tool and if CF 8 is configured with IIS all websites, then remove the connector for the set and add the site Web/sites one by one and you want to run with ColdFusion 8.

  

  Now, go ahead and install ColdFusion 11 and in the window 'Set up the Web server', choose the site you want to run with CF 11

  

  

  NOTE : two more important points to remember:

  1. do not remove the CF 8 connector if it is a production server

  2. do not choose all with CF 8 / CF 11 under IIS Web site, because if you choose ALL then all sites under IIS will be configured with this version of CF.

  How HS does not have a situation where the primary server disconnects for some reason of standard equipment such as the failure of the SUPPLY, the rocking AP and to restart the virtual machines on the secondary server and then set you the primary server online.

  The principal server then put to update its configuration of the cluster HA and now show as having no VMs and high school have all virtual machines?  It is a simple process and then manually balance the virtual machines again back on the backend as they were before the failure?

  -Host A turns and DRS provided by VC will start to migrate servers turn it on again to Host A function of load running on host B and configured rules.

  In a HA cluster 5 primary hosts may exist... (default hosts the first 5 added to the cluster), others are secondary...  PRIM / s roles are configured by VC when activating HA, in / out of the mode of maintenance etc.

  I have two web applications running on 2 sites. Nothing fancy, just a search function (master/detail). When I have them developed 2 years ago, I had no problem setting up my test server. In fact I use the same connection string for this new project. Therefore, my web server and sql server are very good. Either by the way, I've upgraded to DW 8.0.2 / ASP and backend MS SQL 2000.

  On the databases tab, I see all the tables. The links tab shows 4 steps but I can't pass the point '3. Setting up the test server site"it brings me to the Site definition dialog box where I put in place server model ASP VBScript =, access = Local/network and others 2 items. This is exactly my settings on my 2 previous applications. A check mark did not show up to step 3 therefore can not press + to implement my Recordset.
  
  I checked other applications work and it displays a red exclamation mark in front of "Go ├a details Page" on the server behaviors tab. Now this 2 years old, previously functional version is also messed.
  
  That's happened? Please, help me, I'm in big trouble! Where will begin to check? Web server? SQL server? DW?

• Configuring Web Service access via a Proxy Server?

  I'm trying to configure the tool OdiInvokeWebservices to hit a WebService through a proxy server.
  I managed to test my OdiInvokeWebservices against a local WS (i.e. a direct connection), but I do not see how to configure ODI to go through a proxy server.
  There is no obvious configuration setting (I expect to see a proxy host, username, password, and proxy exceptions maybe) on the tool OdiInvokeWebServices or ODI itself.
  
  So, anyone can answer all or part of the following?
  * Are there variables configuration ODI (or ODI environment variables) to set up the proxy server access?
  * In the case of a failure, what is the desirable approach (taking account of the architecture of the ODI)? For example, creating a technology ODI in the topology for HTTP connections through a proxy server (what is a sense - I'm new to ODI)?
  * What is possible or desirable to extend the OdiInvokeWebServices tool to enable the configuration for a proxy server? (probably a bad idea - a lot of hacking involved)?
  
  If all above fails them, then the only option is to give access ODI direct internet access.
