• Tecra M5 - how to remove the screen hinges

  Hello

  I need to replace the hinges of the screen (well one of them anyway)
  I have the manual maintenance and computer in bits.

  The manual says "Disassemble the hinge (left) while drag and spin it.", but no matter how hard wiggle/slide/tour that I can't get out.

  Same problem with one of the other side.

  Someone has it already done this and have any advice or know of an educational video somewhere?

  To my knowledge there is no textbooks that would show you how to disassemble the unit. Such dismantling manuals are made for the Toshiba service guys.
  Then maybe you'll find some tips and tricks on YouTube or would need to contact a Toshiba technician to remove

  When I first got this laptop I've read a lot of bad reviews with about the stiffness and strength of the hinge of the screen on this laptop, there are many complaints about the wrong version of these hinges and many people know they broke up in the first year to get the laptop, despite taking great care when opening it.

  Take this information into consideration I took great care when you lift the lid. I've had this laptop for not even 3 months, and the left hinge has become quite substantially uneven.

  When the lid is closed, the left side of the cover fits up to 2cm of the body, while the right side of the cover is more or less on par with the body, as it should.

  I activated my free 1 year warranty a few weeks ago.

  What can I do about it?

  my laptop is a Tecra S4, Windows XP sp2 and a Nvidia Quadro NVS110M like a graphics card.

  While the technical specification shows the max 1400 x 1050 with internal toshiba LCD screen resolution, windows xp displays that 1024 x 768 as max screen.

  I've updated the drivers from the Toshiba site, but I can not yet move beyond 1024 x 768.

  How can I unlock other resolutions?

  I think I need to clarify something because it looks like you n t know that the Tecra S4 has been delivered with different hardware specifications.

  Contains first the Tecra S4 has been shipped with 2 different.
  It supports two different views of color TFT
  -15, 1 "(1024 x 768)"
  -15, 1 '' (1400 x 1050) "

  It seems that you have purchased a Tecra S4 model which was equipped with a 15.1 "(1024 x 768) display and higher resolution is not available!"

• Tecra 8200 screen goes black when I use the battery

  When I use my laptop Tecra 8200 with (new) battery, light falls down on the screen, making it almost impossible to work with. I use windows XP. I have havn´t found all the settings to adjust it - anyone know what to do?

  The speed of the CPU has confused me a little. As far as I know if the motherboard is changed the speed of the CPU will be around 600 MHz and in this case the service partner needs to update the CPU microcode. After that, the speed of the processor will be as before. The operating system adds nothing of all this.

  Hello. I have a Toshiba Tecra S1. Its 4 years.

  Last night my screen suddenly started flashing and my computer froze. I had to reboot my computer and then the screen starts sometimes, but mostly it stays black. If splash screens, I have only gently shake the computer until the screen flashes again and the computer crashes.

  In my opinion there would be something wrong with the motherboard.
  Perhaps dysfunction of VGA chip maybe some covers may come into contact with the VGA chip and cause of could short-circuit.
  This could be an explanation why the screen flashes and the computer hangs after a shaking gently.

  I recently got a Tecra 8100 for cheap on eBay.

  The screen sometimes goes black its still on I need to press the shaft close to the screen and it beeps sound sounds and back on.

  I removed the frame of the screen and it made the difference for a about a week but just happen again:(mais je croise les doigts pas très souvent.)

  I read on google etc. it can be sumtin with led, etc. I just want to know how to replace the part?
  What part I need to replace etc.?

  I disable all power management things, and sometimes even of it is would no doubt something with the screen.

• Tecra 8000 screen goes green

  I have a Tecra 8000 running Windows 2000 with the latest version of the bios/drivers, etc.. It works fine and all, but it has this particular problem. At first boot, the display is fine, but then gets a green tint to everything. I can fix it by going into hibernation (or suspend) and turn the machine back (out of hibernation).

  Win7 is still not released official and what you use is the BETA version. Toshiba don't offer any proven tools or utilities such as Toshiba power saver for the moment so I assume you are using OS nudes.
  Solutions for these questions can be offered at the start of official support.
  For the time being, you can use Win7 with some BETA drivers but note that these drivers, tools and utilities are not tested.

  I have a Portege M100 and have a slight problem with the screen
  The screw on the left has out & disappeared. This left the very "wobbly" screen and it seems to have jumped off a plug or two, just on the left side as the case/wallpaper sometimes seems to gape slightly face down by the hinge.
  I would try to replace the screws & it back to the 'normal' but I can't find instructions or advice on how fits in the screen - can someone help me to clip it together & rplace the screw?

  I think that there are no manuals or instructions how to replace something on a laptop. These technical documents are not for the public, they available only allowed for the service provider.

  So, I would recommend an ASP because there you can also get the right spare for your laptop and technicians will help you fix it. :)

  It s not an ordinary matter if the white background changes screen pink.
  I guess that there must certainly be a malfunction of the display or fl-inverter.
  I also recommend to contact Toshiba service partner in your country.

• Tecra M3 - screen problem double

  I have a Tecra M3 with the NVidia drivers installed (using those newer section pilots) and when I activate the option double screen he sets the screen of the laptop as the main screen and opens to all applications on the main screen. I can't change the primary but I put the windows task bar to the second screen, but applications seem to open on the main screen always and even when you move to the second screen, that they should remember where they were last open but they do not seem to. On my old Tecra S1 with ATI, the detected laptop external monitor drivers and the set as primary and then opened the Tools toolbar and on the correct screen applications.

  Does anyone know how to get the screens work properly.

  I have Tecra S3 and I tested it today and I am very surprised how many opportunities are there to use the device and an external monitor.

  I put t know if you're using Replicator port, but in my case, I put external monitor as primary and portable display as windows extended desktop.

  I have connected monitor to my Tecra (without Port Replicator)
  Using the key combination FN + F5 chose the external display only
  Go to display properties and choose display 2 and activate the option windows extended desktop

  Every time if the device starts the beginning and the newspaper in the window will be displayed on the external screen. I hope that's what you want, or maybe that I n t you understood right.

  The hinges support the screen have cracked open the frame and is now bulging. I've never used my laptop in a way that would be damaged, so I think this is a manufacturing problem. Can we do anything about it? My very well other cell phone functions and I would hate to have to replace it because of this problem.

  The issue started about a year after I bought it. I, however, did nothing to this subject back then I thought that it would not cause future problems.

  If your computer is still under warranty, call HP 1800 474 6836 assistance. They will ask for the serial number and the product from your computer and create a file number for you. More likely they'll send it for repair.
