Tecra S1, Hibernation and power

I have Tecra S1 and when I Hibernate mode in Windows XP, computer laptop stops and power down. Problem is that S1 automaticaly resumes (past) when I open my laptop. I would like to have the option to turn on the laptop from hibernation only when I press Power on button.

I hope I was clear, my English is not good...

Hi aubx,

are you running a version of XP Toshiba recovery or a clean install?

Also do you have updated or changed something in the PowerSaver? Perhaps one - and a reinstallation of the PowerSaver solves the problem!

You upgraded your system to SP2?

  • How to remove the front rear of the Tecra S1 PT831A to check cable and power?

    Hello

I need to "check the cables and power," following the Seatools for test back and start-up message 'failure to support, check cable PXE - E61'. I also have a message for the CHKDSK using the XP Pro CD, saying after 26% that "the volumn appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems".

Remove all screws B6 or what else - to remove the back cover for "check cable"?

Startup by default, without failure, then to BSOD Mode screen whatever the choice is taken, the BSOD is too short a period to read the message, and there is no option in the choice of Safe Mode to disable "Restart in case of failure".

I removed and reinserted the RAM and HARD drive without change to issue.

Hope this makes sense and someone can give advice.

    Hello

Each laptop has in the list of all bootable devices BIOS. If none of them can be used the last of them, LAN port, is checked, and then you'll see this message PXE - E61.
If the problem may be your HARD drive.

First check HARD drive. Enter the BIOS and set it to default settings. Restart the laptop and check if the HARD drive is recognized and registered properly in the BIOS settings. If so he has no problem with connectors.

I recommend get you the new HARD drive for testing purposes. Put the new HARD drive and try to install the OS by using the original Toshiba recovery disc.

  • Put into hibernation, and then restart the two computer sending to a complete stop

Totally out of the Blue yesterday (20 December 2010) my laptop running XP Pro SP3 with full updates developed a need where Hibernate (via the shutdown menu and pressing the on/off switch) sends the computer to a complete stop after briefly posting the 'Preparing to Hibernate' screen but is progressing not not to the Windows XP screen. Similarly, Restart completely shuts down the computer and does not restart automatically.  I checked, disarmed and reset the settings to the hibernation effect power management.  Any ideas?

For aand Stand By issues of hibernation, I always start with video dirvers.

Can you think of changes in the field of video drivers since finally things worked?

So far, all we know is that you have a laptop computer with Service Pack 3.

It is good that you have SP3, because there were some problems with Hibernate and Stand By fixed in SP3.  You can read about them here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/946480

If you want to see what you have now, or if you have problems later, follow these steps:

Usually and easy to check and correct, is the video drivers for your system that must be downloaded to your global manufacturers Web site. Download the correct (recent) video drivers for your graphics card, install the correct video drivers, reboot your system, and then test.

If you can not know how to check if your video drivers are correct, may not know how to get to the World Wide Web of manufacturers or can not know what to do then, maybe we can look at it for you if you provide more information.

What is your system brand and model?

If you are not sure what you have, or need another set of eyeballs on it, follow these steps:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click Edit, select all, copy and paste then return here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete it.

This minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork, trying things and assumptions.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

Hi, did you add a new device to your pc, you may have a missing driver.

Go to the heart Control Panel and start the Device Manager and see if there are any exclamation point, if they are a driver missing. Once you add each of them that the day before should illuminate again. Follow these steps to open it, fast.

    1. Click on Start and then run.

    2. Type the following command in the Open: area of text and then hit the Enter key or click the OK button.

      devmgmt.msc

      Device Manager displays immediately.

Put it on wait ten minutes if the phone did not come one, then hold down the sleep/Home button until you see the apple logo and then release, make sure that the phone is still connected to the charger.

  • Satellite A210-1AP - battery and power supply problem

A few weeks ago I received my laptop (Satellite A210) reapair and the motherboard was changed.

Since then, I got problem with the battery when it is inside and power cable is pluged.
When the cable is in the laptop running on battery power I do not know why. Then when I turn it off battery led is lit Orange and the battery is charging.
When the PC is turned on, the indicator light does not work and the battery becomes lower.

So I wonder what the problem is.
I read somewhere that this problem could solve the BIOS update.
So anyone have experience like this.
Also how is installed BIOS, I saw there is an installer for windows (so I guess it isn't hard).

And somehow can back up old BIOS so I can go back if something bad happens.

    > A few weeks I got my laptop (Satellite A210) reapair and the motherboard was changed.
    > Since then, I had problem with the battery when it is inside and power cable is pluged.

In my opinion, the technician has done something wrong
The point is that this problem occurs after the exchange of motherboard and I think what this is about.

Contact the ASP who repaired the laptop and explain your problem.
I doubt that a BIOS update would solve this problem. I think it s a question an electrician

  • Equium L10-273 kept switching between battery and power

    Hello

I saw a similar post here and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have had this problem sorted? My Equium L10-273 kept switching between battery and power all others second, which made it impossible to type, it's got worse and worse. I thought it was a problem with the power supply, but when I removed the battery from the laptop is ok running of the adapter.

He kept also make a noise of hissing/crackling growing fan region, which stopped when I removed the AC adapter. The adapter was unusually hot, and the fan area became too hot to the touch. This stopped now, I removed the battery, so I want to know is what someone has solved this problem by replacing the battery or it should be returned?

This laptop is less than 2 years old, but apart from his one year warranty.

    Hello

According to the description of your problem, I think there is a problem of electronic power supply. Sorry but there is not a universal solution, and I recommend you contact the service authorized in your country. Explain the situation and see what they say.

  • Looking for an AC adapter and power cord for a HP Pavilion 2 p-1105, PN:QW819AA. Parts order fiasco.

Not my computer, but my father, apparently he has lost the power adapter and power cord before he surrendered.

I have never had a difficult experience find a part, it's like the HP support site is this circular black hole. I understand that this isn't a standard power supply, but HP power cord... Seriously, why the specifications list and the list is not part numbers.

Call the customer support isn't much better, was routed from the line parts store to the HP Shopping, back to the parts store channel. Each single representative that I spoke too cannot identify this part.

a guy tried to tell me everything that I needed was a rope, according to the installation instructions, is not correct.

At this point, I'm extremely frustrated and very unlikely never recommend or buy an HP product again.

    Here are the specifications of the desktop HP Pavilion p2-1105. According to the specifications of the computer, this model requires an external power supply with the following features;

    External 90W power supply (100V-240V)

    Total wattage: 90W

    Input voltage:

    100-127V/3A (50-60 Hz)

    200-240 v/2A (50-60 Hz)

    Output voltage: 19V

Based on the HP part Surfer parts list for the product number: QW819AA - model name: desktop HP PAVILION P2 - 1105, the following seem to be what you are looking for.

    HP P/N 213349-001 - cord (black) - three sons, 3.0 m (9.8 ft) long - right taken C5 (F) (Canada and United States)
    HP P/N 619752-001 - food - Ext AC Adpt Lolonis-r RT Angle Connector 90W

HP P/N 695835-001 - 90W square EPS (Domino) 3 p (which seems to be an alternative to the HP P/N 619752-001)

I'm not very tech savy, or a computer programmer/Assistant. Help, please. Thank you!

This is the original factory specifications for your desktop HP Pavilion p7-1254. Here are the specifications of the card mother AAHD2-HY (Holly) installed on your computer.

    (1) wireless card and its location;

    (2) CPU upgrades;

    Image AMD A8-3800 (Liano) 65W
    Image AMD A6-3650 (Liano) 100W

No need to replace the power supply to allow an upgrade of the CPU.

    (3) graph and power upgrade;

This computer using integrated graphics supported by the motherboard and APU. Installation of a discrete graphics card will automatically disable the integrated graphics card. This model supports a v2.0, v2.1 or card discrete graphics PCIe x 16 v3.0 Specification v2.0. For all but the most basic graphics cards, you will need to supply. I suggest using the power supply Corsair CX500, CX600, CX500M, and CX600M.

Try these steps and check if that helps:

** Turn it back on. Sometimes a reboot will solve this problem.* *.

    1. close all programs and stop the laptop.

    2. remove all power supplies (battery and power cord)

    3. empty the remaining power by pressing the power on button for 30 seconds (even if you have no power).

    4. put the battery back and start the computer

    5. once fully loaded, right-click on the system tray and select Properties.

    6. This will bring to the top of the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" dialog box. The "Notification area" tab.

    7. at the bottom of the tab, is the area 'icons systems. " There is a checkbox for "Power". "check" the box and click on apply or OK.

Also update your graphics card drivers.

It works! Tanks a lot Johnny D.81!

    Hello

Step 1: Check if you are able to boot in safe mode. If you are able to boot into safe mode, and then try to perform the clean boot to safe mode and check.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start and then click Run.
    2. type msconfig and click OK.

The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    3. click on the tab general, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
    4. When prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Step 2: Run the check disk hard disk command. (You will be able to try this step if you are able to start in safe mode or in normal mode with success)
