  TWICE ON MY CELL PHONE, I WAS CONTACTED BY SOMEONE WHO SAYS TO CALL FROM "WINDOWS".  IT SAYS THAT MY COMPUTER HAS BEEN DOWNLOAD VIRUSES AND OTHER NONSENSE AND I NEED TO TALK TO THEM NOW.  I ASK WHY WINDOWS WOULD BE WHITE THEIR CALLER ID IF INDEED IT IS A REPRESENTATIVE OF WINDOWS AND OF COURSE HE HAS NO ANSWER.  I HE REQUEST TO IDENTIFY AND HIS PHONE NUMBER TO VERIFY THE INFORMATION HE SAYS IS TRUE.  HE SAYS HIS NAME IS SAM.  HE HAS A STRONG INDIAN ACCENT.  HE SAYS HIS PHONE NUMBER IS 315-352-4191.  I TRY TO GET MORE INFORMATION FROM HER BUT HE HANGS UP.  HE DIDN'T THERE HAS NO ANSWER TO THIS NUMBER WHEN I PLACE THE CALL.

  only, I was contacted by a person claiming to be windows saying that my computer has been infected and he called for help.  He hit me the windows and "R" key at the same time.  Then I typed in "eventvwr" and who showed me a list of some events with indicator red and yellow.  Then he wanted me to go back and enter "iexplore www.support.me", so he could fix my computer.  I became very suspicios and did not continue with his appeal.  Is it a hoax or someone really trying to help me?  Because I did not communicate with him, I feel that this is not a legitimate operation.  Thanks for your help.

  Have you enabled it?  Installation is just copying files (essentially).  Activation occurs after installation - usually by Internet or telephone.

I paid with my credit card online, they took on my computer. has released my Kaspersky anti virus out and some programs more... re installed Microsoft free security and free CCleaner. It got late and they said that they would call back the next day, they do not have and my computer won't even save so I can install windows 7 my disc sent Dell. I'm waiting on dell to recall support.  I already bought the protection of software on both computers and wouldn't you know, he went out in March... Now I tried to get my hands on this 24 x 7 and receiving nothing they fraud? Why Microsoft let them do that? What can I do now?

  If you think that you might have downloaded malware to a phone tech support website scam or authorized a cybercriminal to gain access to your computer, follow these steps:

  • Change password of your computer, change the password on your main email account and the password for all the accounts financiers, especially your credit cards and credit.

  • Scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner to find out if you have malicious software installed on your computer.
    Note: If infections are detected during the scan, there is a risk of data loss because infected files will be deleted.

  • Install Microsoft Security Essentials.

• Update problems causing several problems.

  I received notice that Windows cannot be updated for some time. I tried the fix where I am to empty a folder and reset it according to the instructions in the menu help. THST didn't work, so I found a forced update on a MS site that was supposed to force the update. Instead to get the update, I now get messages saying that the version of windows vista, I have perhaps not valid now. How can I fix it?

  I was able to live with the frustration above until today when I tried to install my new MS Office Home and Student 2010 and kept getting Error 1935 with an Hresult: 0 x 8007002. Fix management, I found that all suggest that I did do the same thing I did for my problem above but has never worked.

  Third-

  On the start-up of already 5 or 6 (apparently not regularly), I get the "blue screen" which tells me that I have not a valid operating system.

  I had friends from tech tell me that these are known issues with Vista Ultimate and all I have to do is call the 1-800 number MS, explain the issues, and that MS can make a correction. This 1-800 number seems to be eluding me (if such a number exists). I am also told that all these problems are caused by the same problem.

  Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

  These types of callers can use completely fictitious names or bogusly claim to be of real companies other than Microsoft as well.

  As for the follow-up to the call, then it's probably more a job for the local police / it's for Microsoft, which is only a software/hardware company.

  To delete the message you are already enabled, you can force the activation on reboot. If the wpa.dbl and wpa.bak are damaged, they can cause a problem.
  Restart in 'Safe Mode '.

The appellant had a thick accent of the India.  He told me he was "Web support". When I asked him who he was with, he says 'Windows Web Support.'  He said that Windows was trying to update my computer and has not been able to access my computer while he needed me to go to my computer and follow a few easy steps, it is willingly to guide me through to solve the problem.  I told him that he was wrong that my computer had just updated during the night last night and it was up to date as I check it every day.  I asked him who he was trying to communicate with and he said ' You! I asked him to provide the name of the person he was looking for and he said that he could not because of privacy. He asked me to give him my name and it would confirm.  I did a name Joseph Blough, (but my friends call me Joe) and he said that was the name of the account.  Joe Blow?  Yes agree India Phisherman mister!
