  • Qosmio F10-100: startup problem - the system protection failure

    Hello

A few days ago, I started my Qosmio QF10-100 and an error, it says:

    Alert: System protection failure.
    Password =...

I 'google' the error nothing helps, the solutions are not compatible with this type of laptop and I'm not going to pay someone to fix it if it's just a simple password.

I would like to know what is the default password, because I'm 100% sure that I have not put it, or if there is other ways to restore. My guarantee is only from 2004-2005, it is out of the question.

Looks like a rare problem, hopefully it's fixable.

    Thank you
    Matt.

    Hello

For me, it looks like a BIOS password has been set. Maybe I m wrong, but in my opinion it should be set a BIOS password or maybe a drive HARD this password which is hard to say.

Unfortunately, if you n t know the password you will not be able to start Notepad :(
But buddy don t worry, the local ASP would be able to remove a BIOS password.

No matter if you warranty is valid or not. You should contact the guy in your country and have to ask for help.

I'm not sure how much it would cost but I n t thinks it might be expensive.

    Goodbye & good luck

Select Start, Control Panel, system, System Protection, System Restore. To create a restore point click Create instead of System Restore.

I have a second internal SSD flash drive used to store my Windows backups (files and Images of the system). I also have a portable hard drive that is also used to store backups of Windows, as well as some personal files.

Have the Protection of the system or the other of these discs will be of any value to me (its turned currently disabled by default)?

No advantage. If you turn on a laptop or removable drive, you lose all the restore points when you remove the disc!

How to know the version of Windows you are using

Assuming that Windows 7, do the following:

    Start-> Control Panel-> system of-> System Protection

    This is the Configure button:

(by selecting your C drive in the 1st first if that's what you want)

    who should then show you:

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

Your computer is connected to a domain network?

Thank you for details on the issue.

System protection is a function that creates and records information about your computer's system files and settings regularly. The system protection also saves previous versions of files that you have modified. It saves these files in the restore points that are created just before significant system events, such as the installation of a program or device driver. They are also created automatically once every seven days if no other restore points were created in the last seven days, but you can create restore points manually at any time.

  • 2 available drives on the points of RECOVERY and OS (C) of the system and restore the protection settings

Greetings! I am very confused and need help. Looking for just my restore points.

I am interested in the protection of the system, I clicked on the system protection and under the protection option I

available from 2 discs on protection RECOVERY settings (it looks like folder sign) and OS (c :)) system)

    Protection of RECOVERY: off

OPERATING SYSTEM (C :)) System Protection is enabled. I clicked on configure I activated the setting to restore system and previous version of the files. Maximum use of 2% (10,00 GB), use current 962,89 MB

Now, my question is this, if recovery protection be ON? When I click on configure, check "turn off system protection"

What is the right configuration? Help, please. I hope I'm not confusing you either.

No, do not turn on System Protection for the system recovery disk. Which is locked and should only be used when you need to do a factory restore (that reinstalls the operating system). Just keep the System Restore enabled for the system partition on which your Windows installation exist. Releasing it's easy: with Windows | ActiveWin | Laptops | Microsoft MVP

  • Cannot restore the system after a virus attack

After infection by several virus Trojan horse my computers hit by the old blue screen of death.

The system can operate in safe mode with networking, but will not boot normally without returning instantly to the blue screen.
The system restore program will not work in safe mode, because he says has no date set to roll back, when I try to set a date to roll back it comes to properties system saying that it should be returning it on the system protection.

All the solutions to put an end to my plague of blue screen and a restorableness?

    Hello!

Sorry, but I think that in this case, the only solution is to reinstall Windows. :(
If SafeMode doesn t you nothing and sometimes viruses destroy the system roll back function.

I had a similar problem a few months back, and the only solution is to reinstall Windows. I had no change to remove the virus.

    Good luck!

  • DirectX can it be cancelled free of charge installs or by using the system restore

Running Windows 7 Pro, I know that many people here have a problem with games crashing to the desktop on startup, Bad company 2, battlefield 2, world at war cod. much of this is due to having directx 10, or a more recent version, most of them want to work with directx 9 .0c only. If DirectX can be rolled without Setup or by using system restore [Windows 7 with backup function, it destroyed other files added since it was backed up, so I DON'T want TO do this if possible]. I looked around and not seen anything saying how. Would appreciate anyhelp which can be givin.
    {Just FYI-Bad company 2 features prominently on their site that tells you how to configure it to run only directx 9 c, so I don't have a job now}

    Hi KerryT,

DirectX runtime for end-users (also known under the name of DirectX) is an extension for the Microsoft Windows operating system that provides a set of quick material orders, low level that they can use to improve performance for Windows games and multimedia programs. The current generation of Windows games and multimedia programs does not work properly without DirectX. So, by design, you cannot remove DirectX. You can try to install Directx 9 .0c and check if that helps. But, before to try this step, you can create a point system to be on the side course of restoration.

To create a restore point, follow these steps:

1 open the system by clicking the Start button, right-click computer, and then clicking Properties.
    2. in the left pane, click system protection.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. click on the tab System Protection and then click on create.
    4. in the System Protection dialog box, type a description, and then click on create.

  • When I try to run the Vista system restore, I get the message that the restoration of the system is 'off', and there is no screen to turn it back on.

The message said that "the system protection is turned off. "Turn it on again you can use system restore. The screen that is supposed to appear when I 'click' to enable system restore, does not appear and I get no options of system restore turn it on again. I don't know how he got off in the first place.

    Hi Rod,

Let's start with a clean boot.

Note that it is very important to "Hide all Microsoft Services" so that we do not destroy our restore points:

  • Vista & missing system protection tab

    It's the blue screen...

I can't get into mode safe mode using F8, but trying to go to a restore point, I found that the system protection tab is missing from the system properties box.

Safe mode with network breaks down.  Is this a virus?  (I use Kaspersky Anti-virus).

RE: Do system restore in safe mode

Can make you this way while you are in safe mode? .........

Start button > Search box, type System Restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.
