The warranty covers this anomaly?

Hi, I have a laptop, a toshiba to be precise.

In any case, I have a touch pad mouse clicky keys and embedded in my laptop. Recently, my left click fell into the computer laptop a little and slides around a lot. It still clicks and works correctly, but this is the the most annoying thing imaginable. In any case, I would like to know if this is covered by the standard warranty or scope given after the purchase of the laptop.

I have a feature of warranty service
1. service [PR1YNB-UK]: 1Y Standard Pickup & return to Ireland and the United Kingdom of NB 1Y

Here are the details of my warranty that I have read through the warranty database of toshiba.

I would like to know if it's covered, so I don't have to give my phone for 10 days for no reason. I plan not to pay once I have find that it is not covered, so this would allow me to save a lot of inconvenience and hassle.

Thank you for reading this and display if you do.

Hallo Alex

In my opinion, you should speak with the nearest authorized maintainer and explain the situation.
It's user forum, and we can speculate here these things here. You need the first hand information.
I do not understand why you think you have to send the laptop. Talking with the guys of services at first and explain the situation. They will tell you what we can do about it.
In my opinion any hardware failure is covered by the warranty.

    > (i) how to check if the recovery partition is windows 8 or 10.

My guess is 'Windows 8 '.

    How to confirm:

    1. buy a disk from Seagate or Western Digital drive.

    2. use the software these manufacturers provide for "clone" of the original drive to the new drive.

    3. attach the clone to another computer, as a 'slave' hard drive.

4 remove all content the largest partition (the one that contains Windows 10).

    5 detach the clone disk.

6 detach your original disks from your computer and place it nearby, carefully and described as 'original. '

    7. fix the clone disk.

8 start since this recovery partition

    9. what operating system offer to install?

    10 remove the clone disk.

    11 reattach the original drive.

Or, perhaps, to look at the time stamp on the files in the recovery partition.

If it is Windows 8, the 'average' age of files will be much older than if it was Windows 10.

    > partition (ii) the recovery seems to be total about 16GB, but the files inside it are only about 600 MB of total.

There are a lot of 'hidden' files which is not included in this total of 600 MB.

In addition, based on the geometry of your hard-drive, 16 GB is probably the smallest 'slice' that can be allocated.

    > (iii) if possible pls tell me the steps to create a windows 10 recovery partition.

    Beginning

    System

    Recovery

to write on a 16 GB - USB - drive all the files necessary to reinstall Windows 10.

Not a partition on your hard disk (which could fail), but a "device."

    Hello

The computer probably has a hardware problem and you should contact a real computer store
(who makes his own internal service and no leeks and displays a Best Buy or any other)
Department stores) or system manufacturer support. You cannot fix the hardware with the software.

  • C50-A-19 t satellite fell - warranty does cover this anomaly?

    Hi guys,.

    I need your advice.

I bought my computer laptop old month and today, my girlfriend dropped acetone on it. Fortunately, still works but the coverage and some keys are damaged and so new it is painful to see it this way.

Anyone knows if the term can cover this damaged or I should I take out insurance?

If none of these possibilities are good, I could pay the support to replace cause I've tried to find office supplies online, but I couldn't find it.

Sorry, cos English is not my mother tongue.

    Thanks for your help

    > Anyone know if the term can cover this damaged or I should I take out insurance?
No, the warranty covers any damage caused by your own fault.

So if possible, you should contact your insurance

  • Qosmio X 500-point red on the screen covered by the warranty?

I'm from Europe, from Portugal to be thorough and I bougth this Qosmio X 500 - 13V in 14/02/2011. It is in warranty, of course. But now, I've noticed there is a red dot in the center of the screen. What should I do? The warranty covers computer? I don't want to have a pc with a dot, although tiny, on the screen. :(

    Help someone.

    Thank you

    Hi Marco_3,

I guess this dot what you want to say it's a pixel dead, right?

Well, there are a lot of discussions in the forum how to manage the dead pixels and I recommend checking out some official Toshiba items I found on the page European:

  • Qosmio G50 - HDD is covered by the warranty?

    Hello!

    I agree with Akuma.

If the HARD disc with the laptop it s covered by the warranty. This means that you should get a new HARD drive for free.

  • Wear of keyboard is covered by the warranty?

My w520 wear letter keyboard, some letters are worn or partially worn (white print on the keys).

I'm in third year of ownership. I didn't intend to keep for a long time, but I find the 'good old' so hard to share with of 7row keyboard.

I must say also that have more old thinkpad (x 40, 60 x) used and abused again with all the keys like new after 6 years

I've heard that some people in the United States has obtained new keyboards under warranty on their w5xx, free of charge, and no need to send the thinkpad.

Just called my local support from Lenovo (Italy)...

They said that the main doors labels are normal wear and tear and which was not covered by the warranty.

If I want a new keyboard, I must pay, still under warranty.

(Also they told me also that here we don't send you a box to deposit in the thinkpad, but it is the owner who must a generic box itself to source and wrap the thinkpad, they send just the mail.) )

Do you have an experience about it? (labels/new keyboard keyboard under warranty?)

If your keyboard is just worn out, the warranty covers the replacement.

However, if certain keys or mouse buttons stopped responding, it would be a different story. Then you would have the right to call and ask for a replacement keyboard.

I just replace the keyboard on my X220T on my own dime due to several keys very worn - and Yes, the machine is still under warranty.

    Good luck.

  • Portege R500 - how to check the warranty status?

    Hello.

You just bought the Portege R500, used a!
But THERE AR ANY WARRANTY mark on the back. The user has deleted everything back!
Is it possible, how do I know about the warranty in this case. ?

PC suite XP OS seems with assistance from Toshiba!

    Hello

Normally be guaranteed can be checked with the serial number you've already written. I m using Windows XP too and if you start the tool of diagnosis PC from TOSHIBA, it shows all the information about your computer and hardware. There you can also see the serial number.

    Check this box!

  • Satellite M70-340: Question about the warranty if I buy in Russia and move to Australia

I would buy the Satellite M70-340 laptop here in Russia. Next month I'll move to Australia. What the warranty in this case?

Will I be charged if problems occur?
How can I recognize a laptop that is officially sold (= I mean legally delivered and comes with a guarantee in the world)?

Thank you very much for your answer!

To my knowledge, you can save your laptop on the European site of Toshiba for services and extensions of warranty and uprisings.
The serial number of the laptop must be registered generally on this site.
I think you can buy a few additional warranty packages that allow you to get the guarantee availability in the world.

But usually if something goes wrong on the laptop you will need to contact Toshiba authorized service partner in your country.
On the Toshiba support page, you will also find a database for service partners worldwide.

  • What happens after the warranty expires?

So I know that the warranty covers some damages and stuff like that, but when my warranty expires, can I still get updates in HP Support Assistant? or is that related to my warranty as well?

HP Support Assistant continues to work after expiration of the warranty. You will no longer updates after awhile because HP does not release updated constantly, but other functions will work.

  • Killed BIOS Flash machine and invalidated the warranty?

    Hello.

I reinstalled one of our Edge 15 laptops after a particularly bad virus infection and I decided to manually download all drivers etc on the site (which I have never much luck with Lenovo System Update)!

One of the files I downloaded was a BIOS updated (I chose no doubt the correct model of the machine) so I downloaded the update to the BIOS for Window 7/8. I ran it and the machine seems to hang. After 30 minutes, I decided that it was.

I could not turn off with the switch so I removed the battery and when I reinserted the battery he was dead! Fan/DVD spin up but nothing on the screen.

I tried to record a call of the guarantee (as the machine was purchased in June last year) and the guy I talked to went "long ago" and then says that, as I had installed manually the update of the BIOS and not do it through system update, the guarantee was not valid and I will send the machine in to them for a quote about a billable repair!

I was a little embarrassed to hear it and I read the release notes and I can find NO mention of voiding the warranty. This doesn't seem to be pretty standard with Lenovo warranty however. Whenever I have a question which I think should be under warranty, they try to squirrel out of it.

Can someone Lenovo specify if it is indeed correct, and I have a 8 month old Clipboard? If so then perhaps Lenovo shouldn't make their updates to the BIOS (potentially dangerous) so easily available or add a lot of warnings?

    Thank you

    Phil

Hi Phil, welcome to the forum,

In fact, I think that it is supporting another call and ask to create a complaint on this.  If you received a telephone number when you first contacted them, you can enter the number of the Rep and ask them of the complaint to create for you.  If this isn't the case, give details of your system and situation again and if they turn you down again you need to request a number of appeal then ask to create a complaint.

Make sure you write down all the numbers you are given and of course the names of everyone that you can talk.

If you decide to go this route that please let us know how you go.

  • Qosmio X 500-fault of screen not covered by the warranty?

So as said elsewhere the X 500 series has a certain design/manufacturing fault that allows a "shadow" be visible on the entire length of the screen at the height of the taskbar (so don't not visible in windows, but jobs is full screen, like movies, just terrible).

The attitude of Toshiba is that it is a "limitation of the technology" and not covered by the warranty (which I think is very poor on their part).

    My query is why?

Given their other 18.4 "models (P500 for example) doesn't seem to have this obvious anomaly, and nor other brands models 18". If it was a limitation of the technology like Toshiba said so surely other models/brands that X 500 would have this anomaly?

Personally, I think the excuse of "limitation of technology" is just a COP on part Toshibas who do not want to solve the problem on EACH item, I'm sure that the next model (x 600? whatever) will miraculously not the issue and those of us who have decided on Toshiba will continue to say "too bad".

I searched the net looking for x 500 no descriptions of this "limitation" as we should expect a "limitation of technology" to be as widely reported as their other favorite, the dead pixel but found nothing. It seems this limitation of effects incredibly alone technology Toshiba X 500? Toshiba must think we're gullible.

My fault however maybe done research, can any that shed light on why only the X 500 has such a terrible mistake and no other models?

I don't know if this is the right place for these issues.
It is user forum and I do not think that any of us has access to s secrets Toshiba ;) to see what type of screens are used on the Qosmio X 500.

I don't know if Qosmio x 500 has new generation screens, but I don't know that Toshiba uses better technology for this model of laptop high-end.
In the past all Qosmio notebooks are best of the best in all aspects, materials, software and many other software programs.

Just, I hope not, I am sure, that Toshiba will continue this philosophy for Qosmio range and seems best proof new Qosmio F60.
I like it a lot but leys see how much it will cost.

  • Default setting screen IdeaPad s 100 14IBR (CAT in is not covered by the warranty?)

I just purchased this ideapad yesterday, lol, yesterday

What happened earlier in the morning when I tried to open the laptop

    It tends to lose

I had a cat of support and the person says that it is not covered by the warranty.

I did not open the screen myself, it happens when I flip the cover in the usual way a normal person would do when you want to watch on the screen (unless you're not)

I'm going to visit a service center in the morning, I just want to raise this issue in this forum.

now any illumination that is why it is a joke? This is not due to misuse or whatever, is definitely a fault, the plant problem rather than my own problem.

    This problem is solved.

The service center does not charge me anything to replace it.

It took approximately 3 business days, total 6 days including weekends.

  • Broken keyboard key is covered by the warranty?

    Hello

I bought Thinkpad T520 a month ago. Today, one of the areas that hold the key broken Z. The key is still usable but can be detached easily. I used the laptop on a desk only and I have not pressured the keys that could break them. It is a defect of the key and I wonder what are my options on the setting of this knowledge? It is covered by the warranty? Lenovo replace my keyboard? I can't afford to send him to the service for more than a few hours since this is my main computer and I need for all working days.

    Thanks in advance

There is no reason for its failure unless the hammer, a brick or a bottle of whisky was launched on it. So YES would be the answer.

Don't ask them if. Suffice it to say the broke / has failed and you need it fix/replace keyboard.
