  You can do 1 of the following:

  1. go in Control Panel > user accounts and remove the password.
  2 configure the computer to automatically connect to your user account:

  a. press the Windows key + R .
  b. type control userpasswords2 in the Open:box and press Enter.
  c. Uncheck users must enter a user name and password to use this computer .
  d. click on apply.
  Enter your user name and password.
  f. click OK twice

  Thanks for getting back to me. I sold my old laptop to my son-in-law, and he asked me to remove my name from the computer off so that my name wasn't on the screen all the time. so I deleted the profile of cook of lorraine and made one for him, but I didn't give it a password. then I realized what I had to do (I got Lorraine where time is on the bottom of the screen), but was unable to highlight to remove it without a mouse. so I plugged a mouse, but the computer does not read, then I restarted the computer. When I restarted, all I could get was the windows login screen.

  then I typed in the name son-nlaws and they said that he was kidnapped, tyoed in mine and got the same and then typed in Administrator, but did not know the password. I have since reinstalled windows. XP Professional would not install saying a file was missing, so I installed xp family and is working again. He just has to click on what edition it wants to run. Professional XP of course happen just with the display of connection... but it can use again.

• Fingerprint reader not working not not upon awakening from sleep for the windows login

  I have a new T540P with a validity fingerprint reader.

  About 80% of the time, the fingerprint reader does not meet the windows login screen after the wake up the computer from sleep mode. It works 100% of the time when starting from a stop position, however. Once connected, it also works 100% of the time. The question arises when you log in to windows.

  I tried many things

  -uninstallation/installation of the device in the Device Manager and finger print manager pro software

  -prints of setting through two fingerprint Manager software pro (lenovo) OR through the windows built in options of the control panel of the fingerprints

  -disabling "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager.

  Thus, I must say that I have an another T540P I ordered as a replacement. Both models encounter the same problem.

  Is it a matter of broad platform affecting all models of T540P? It's frusterating.

  Usually, you do not see your user name. You see a combination of alphabetic letters and numbers.

  I have an Apex application with 4 tables. Each table has its individual fields more audit 4 fields (CR_DATE, CR_USER, LM_DATE, LM_USER) to follow, create and edit events Records.
  We use authentication database for the application of the Apex, each user has his own connection to the database ID.
  
  Our standard development efforts resulted in a practically useless 'APEX_PUBLIC_USER' entry in our areas of audit.
  Manual change of our triggers (by Toad) solved this problem. However, a business rule States that all the requirements of design of database are stored in Oracle Designer and manual trigger changes are not an option for us.

  I made the suggested changes and were able to verify that these changes work if I change records using Toad, but don't work not by Apex. It seems that I have the login name used by the server instead.
  (for example if I connect on the toad as a generic user and edit a record, my personal user name appears correctly in the field of the LM_USER - if I change a record through the Apex, connected applicaton as myself, the area of the LM_USER says 'oracle')

  You might want to reference "CLIENT_INFO" rather than "OS_OUSER" in the trigger, code generation and check if it helps. APEX defines CLIENT_INFO APP_USER for each database request.

  I'm new at APEX, my requirement goes this way, I have an XYZ table and for that I generated a report with multiple columns, and for that I have a form to change the /update values on to a column particlular in this table, where in the form, I got a pop-up for this column (ABC) (ABC) so that if clicked what a choice list dispalyed on the selection which it gets reflected in the form and when I Click on apply button on the form changes. In the report the values relavent get changes according to the database, that's fine, but I have 2 more (columns edited_name, edited_time) where change on that (ABC) I need the name of the current user and time to be displayed in the report.
  
  Well the user name here is the user_name associated to the my application (Apps reports) connection not the APEX worksapce username are used to form. Because the same application you will be used across many people and updations made on this column at the same time. It should go down with it.
  At the end in the report, based on the name of connection (application), I need to display the edited_name & edited_time. Can someone help me please.

  A trigger is the right way to do it and your trigger seems to be ok. It must be installed on your table, which means on the database.

  What problem did you experience?

  the APP_USER is situated in the context of your session database after you connected to your application. You can't test it in the order sheet Apex SQL for example, because then it is not defined. The function v gives you access to this and other context variables in pl/sql environment.
