TIME delay start order and time limits

Hi all:

I have a question about the vApp properties & gt; Running dialog box. Page 56 on user's guide States:

"In the tab running, determine the sequence of boot, boot delay and delay of closure order.

You must type the numbers that are in progress, for example, 0, 25, 1000, to define the sequence. Negative numbers are not allowed. »

That's all that is mentioned on the functions of startup time. I guess that the progression is from low to high - that is to say that the virtual machine called 0 would begin before the designation of the virtual machine as 25. Is this correct? The first VM in the sequence must be designated 0?

My next question has to do with the start time text box. Suppose I have put vm1 to the order 1 order of 0 and vm2. If I want to vm2 start 60 seconds after vm1, can I enter start delay in the text box for vm1 or vm2? In other words, start-up time is used to determine how long after that a particular virtual machine is delayed to start after it is determined to be next in sequence, or the delay is used to determine how long after the virtual machine is started before the next sequence be allowed to power on?

Paul D. Pindell VCP4

VCD will start VMs in ascending order and then stop in descending order. For example, if you have three virtual computers with 0, 1, 2 boot order, the first to start is 0 then 1, then 2. When you stop the paralytic, the first stop is 2, etc.

The VM startup time is the duration in seconds of the previous VM starting in the boot order. Using the same example as above, if the delayed start is 60, 180, 120 for 0, 1, 2 virtual machines, the first 60 is IGNORDED!. The virtual machine with the boot order 0 will start immediately, no matter what it has start delay is. Then, VMS with start command 1 will to power to 180 seconds after vm 0 is turned on. The last of them will begin to 120 seconds after that. The key is that the time is compared to the previous VM, not absolute time relative to the beginning of vapp.

During the shutdown of a paralytic, the stop delay applies after the first VM is stopped. The stop delay on the virtual machine with the highest boot order is ignored. Then, the next highest start VM command stopped n seconds after one is arrested (where n is the stop of the second delay starts more high order VM).

There is another type of start delay that can be set in the VC that causes the virtual machine to a break in the bios for a loading screen number of milliseconds. This parameter has nothing to do with how VCD starts VMs. As part of VCD, the delay is applied without even say VC to start the VM so that VC setting delay applies after a virtual machine is running and breaks to the bios screen. If you are interested in using the setting in the CR, you can find it in the "Startup Options" tab options dialog box settings VM.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions

  • Time limits

    Summary of the issue
Other issues of Windows Live family safety

What version of Windows Live Family Safety do you use?
    Version 2011 (15.4.3538.513)
    Choose your operating system version:
    Windows Vista SP2

    Additional details
I put the time restrictions on an account called family in my PC. However, it did not work! My son seems to be able to get any time.
Is it because the time limit only works for Windows 7? and not vista?
Why? MSoft can not make it work for Vista?

    Hello

Deadlines should work on Windows Vista when you use parental controls. It is possible that you experience this problem because you are using an older version of the parental control, the installation program does not correctly, or settings are not updated to the level of the parental control client after making changes on the Family Safety website. The latest version of the family of security for Windows Vista is build 15.4.3555.0308.

Apparently, the latest version of the parental control now uses the standard user accounts (Windows logon) as a child in the safety of the family. If you need to know about adding a user to the Windows login with standard privileges, please see this link.

If you have already created a standard user and you want to manage under parental control, then follow these steps:

    1. run the parental control on a Windows account with administrator privileges. If this is your first time running the parental control, you need to sign in using your Microsoft Account.

    2. after login, select the standard Windows account that you want to monitor as a child by checking the box to the right of the name of the account, and then click Next after.

3 on the right, you will see members parental control with a list of drop down option. Click the menu drop-down, and then select Add standard account name.

    4. click on record. Wait until the installation is done.

    5. Once done, you should see the name of the account under Windows monitored accounts.

Establishment of the limits of time using the parental control

After you add the account of the child (standard user) for the safety of your family, you can then set up time restrictions limit as follows:

    1. connect the customer to parental control using the Parent account.

    2. click on settings of the child of the child you want to impose time limits.

    3. Select the Windows account you want to associate with your parent account.   Put a tick and clicking next takes you to the next screen.

    4. after combining, you must set up familysafety.microsoft.com time limits (formerly fss.live.com)

    5. note: for time limits work, the child Windows account must be a Standard user and NOT an administrator account.

    6. in the left pane, click the name of the computer or the child account to configure by clicking on the settings below.

    7. click on deadlines.

8 Note: Make sure that the check box Turn On is selected and block on the desired boxes restriction for the account of that of Windows.  Save to finish.

    9. Once done do changes on the Family Safety website, don't forget to update the client settings by clicking on the 2 arrows at the top right of the window to the client (get the latest settings on the site).

In case you need help, feel free to post a reply.

    Thank you and best regards.

  • How to configure within the fixed parameters flexible time limits.

I'm looking to set up a set in two layers of time limits on user accounts in Vista.  First of all, I would like to limit the specific times where an account will be available.  Second, I want to limit the total number of hours that the account can be used within these limits.  It is NOT practical or reasonable at all in my situation to simply set the deadlines.  I need a combined fixed/flexible system.  How it is made, or Microsoft simply failed to provide an adequate solution, forcing me to buy a third-party product to make up yet another gap in Vista?

  • I have a problem with time limits in Parental control.

Original title: Parental controls: time/blocks. How it works once defined?

I just put a few times on our computer that I DON'T want my child to be on the computer.  If my child is connected when the window of blocked time arrives, what happens?  It hits them?  Only apply it is able to connect at this time?  Will get a warning that they're about to be disconnected?

    Hi trossk,

You can set time limits to control when children are allowed to log on to the computer. Time limits prevent children to connect during the specified hours. You can set the hours of different logon for each day of the week. If they are connected end their time, they will be automatically disconnected. For more information, see control when children can use the computer.

  • Environmental parameters for Start Up and recovery path

Is this the path variable normal environment for start-up and recovery in Control Panel?

    "% SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem; C:\Program Files\Fichiers SharedCOM Shared\DLLShared\; C:\Program Files\Fichiers SharedCOM Shared\DLLShared\; C:\Program Files\Fichiers SharedCOM Shared\9.0\DLLShared\"

Also in the services, I started and running a secondary connection with an unattached profile and another service called 'readyboost' with another unattached profile that is disabled, but these two have passwords on them.

I reinstalled vista windows from a recovery disk that I ordered from HP.  I have a Pavillion DV6500 and the new facility took 6 hours to complete.  Also my service packs keep uninstall and I have more than 40 x active controls in my addons on new IE8 running without permission.   Is this normal?

First, it is not normal that Roxio entries be in the path of the environment (although I don't know what Roxio did when installing - it can for some reason any add them, but I can't imagine why).  Did you install Roxio or came with the HP recovery disk?  I would like to remove the entries from Roxio, but it is your decision to do that I don't know what effect this will have on your system.  Roxio doesn't play well with Vista in general (or you can leave them alone because they are probably not wrong).

Secondly, it is not normal to have 40 controls ActiveX in IE8 modules quickly and without add them yourself.  I don't know how they got there or what they're doing.  I all would disable them until you get this thing figured out.  It is possible that they have been added by HP because you used their recovery process - but I don't know.  Ask HP.

Thirdly, it seems that the recovery of the system did not work properly.  To install service packs, you must first do a complete update of Windows (perhaps several times), before appear no more.  And then install SP1 (unless it was one of the updates).  Then run Windows update again until no furter updates appear and then install SP2.  Then run Windows Update again until no other updates appear and you will be updated.  If you have tried to install service packs without installing updates firstly this is perhaps why they do not work properly (it isn't normal for service packs to uninstalll on their own).  You need to contact HP again and explain the situation - they can send you bad discs or you will have to start the process.  They may help you with the process and problems of this result.  We can't really help you because it it to HP to start the process and non-Microsoft.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Automatically start vCenter and vms

    Hello

We have Windows Server 2008 R2 running vCenter 4.1 connected to host computers running ESXi 4.0 Update 1.  Every time we restart the server, the vmware vCenter and vmware vCenter Webservices services start up, they are set to start.  They need to be on the delayed start?  I check the event logs to see what is happening.  Is there a log of vmware that I could look at?
