to access computers on adhoc network__

How do I enter two vista computers on an ad hoc WEP network?

Hello Gavin986,

·         You configure the Ad - hoc network on both computers for the first time?

If you try to connect to computers that already host Ad - hoc network, here's what you need to do:

1) go to start and click on connect to.

Connect 2) to a network window appears. This window displays all the available connections, which are remote access, VPN and wireless connections, but your emphasis is on an ad-hoc wireless connection. Scroll through the list and select the ad hoc wireless network and click Connect.

Note: Also try to temporarily disable encryptions (WEP) and then try to sign in if you are not able to connect. You can enable encryption on host computers after you connect computers with success...

(3) once you are connected, you will see the message to save the network. You can then check on save this network and close the window.

If you have not set the Ad - hoc network on the host computers, here's what you need to do:

1 open the connect to a network by clicking the Start button, then click on connect to.

2. click on set up a connection or network.

3. click on set up a network of ad-hoc (computer to computer), click Next, and then follow the steps in the wizard.

You can refer the articles below which will give you more information on this:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/set-up-a-computer-to-computer-ad-hoc-network

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/ad-hoc-networking-how-the-network-with-the-funny-name-can-make-your-life-easier

Also, note that the Ad hoc networks are created temporarily, once you disconnect from the computer.

Thank you

  • My wired network cannot access computers connected wirelessly

    Very strange problem of networking:

Everything is Windows 7 and the network is defined as a working network.

My laptop (wireless) can see and access my desktop (wired), but my desktop computer, although it can see my laptop, cannot access.
If I connect the laptop cable, the Office can then access. I do not change anything, just plug in the cable.

If also connected to my netbook with unusual results. The netbook runs Windows 7 starter and is wireless
He can see the desktop and the laptop and access, but does not appear in its own computer network list in the Explorer.
It is visible in the desktop browser, but are not accessible from it. It does not appear on the Explorer of the laptop at all.
If I have the cables up to the netbook, the Office can then access it, but the netbook can then access the laptop if it is wireless.

Just to clarify - netbook on wireless - I can access the laptop (wireless or wired)
NetBook on cable (wireless or disable as well) I can still see the laptop, but cannot access it.

When I first put this network - a couple of years - all spoken at all. I think I lost it after an upgrade of windows, but don't know when because I rarely access the laptop from the desktop, usually the opposite.
Anyone got clues? Or how can I delete all networks and start again because I have a different network (same working group) on each PC name, but I can't change the names - windows seems to decide what to call them.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

I would appreciate if you can help me with the following information.

    1. what happens when you try to access wireless computers? You receive an error message/code?

  • Cannot access computers running Windows XP Pro on wireless network.

3 machines on the wireless network. 1 running Windows 7; 2 running Windows XP Pro.  Previously, I had full access in all directions. No problems.   Now I can't access Pro X machines. Neither the machine, Windows 7, or a XP Pro on the other machine. I can see XP machines in Windows Explorer with the complete display of all shared folders, but when I try to access a file, I get an error message. "\\Tiger\Documents and setting are not available. I checked the properties of sharing on both XP machines, and they seem to be the same when everything worked correctly. I have installed any new program - except the regular updates of Windows and the frequent update of the antivirus of Trend Micro. Any solution?

Thanks Steven Winograd. I don't know how to frame a search that would have led me to the Article 177078, or that it applies to my problem, once I found it. I may have a new technique, but I CAN follow a recipe from Cookbook to change the IRPStackSize. Increase the value of 15 to 18 solves the problem without a further hiccup. Thanks again.

  • Www to access computers on dmz

I just installed the third ethernet port for a DMZ on our PIX 515 (6.2). This facility went well and I put a web server on the DMZ. I want to access the web from the demilitarized zone to get the fixes, but any system on the DMZ will not otherwise access the web. I thought that it is correctly configured with ' nat (dmz) 1 172.x.x.0 255.255.255.0 0 0'. Global (outside) command is defined for all users to access the web, but can't access the web in the demilitarized zone. What Miss me?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

    in order to ensure:

-is the default gateway of the web server pointing to the ip address of the firewall's dmz interface?

-is properly configured on the web server DNS?

  • Windows cannot access \\COMPUTER1

When I try to connect to a working group, it connects perfectly. My laptop can 'see' all of the computers on the network, it is able to see the shared data and files from a computer that uses Windows Vista, but when I try to access the data stored on a computer that uses Windows XP, it will not work. I have two computers running Windows XP and when I try to access their data, I see the following message is displayed:

    Windows cannot access \\COMPUTER1

Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there could be a problem with your network. In an attempt to identify and solve network problems, click on diagnose.

    Error code: 0 x 80070035

The network path was not found.

I use Windows 7 RC build 7100, but I make Windows 7 Ultimate lately in this month, so I really hope that I won't have the same problem there. But please, answer. I'd appreciate any help you can advice.

    Hi Jacob, P

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

Disable the firewall for debugging. If the firewall is the problem, you will need to configure it to allow access to addresses of "zone of confidence". Note that some firewalls must be completely uninstalled to prevent them from affecting your network.

PING each computer by its IP address, and if successful, PING by name. You can get the IP address of a computer by opening a command prompt (DOS window) and by typing IPCONFIG.

Check your Services are started on all PCs: workstation, DHCP Client, DNS Client, server, TCP/IP Netbios helper, computer browser.

All computers must be in the same workgroup for the navigation computer to function properly. Sharing of print files & must be enabled on any computer you want to share files or printers. You also need to actually share the resource in question from the hard disk, right-click on the drive-> printer-> folder and select sharing.

If you have problems to access computers that are visible in network neighborhood, make sure the computer access has an account with the same name and password that the computer connecting to it uses to connect.

While the default NetBIOS setting is correct for normal network configurations, it is possible so that it can be changed, and it costs nothing to make sure that it is correct. NETBIOS over TCP/IP must be enabled for browsing the normal network.

Please visit this link for more information on the networking of personal computers running different versions of Windows:

I also suggest you to start in safe mode with network and check if you can connect to the computer.

Title: Cannot access computers on my network?

For some reason any my computer won't let me access any computer on my network.

    Hello

-What are the versions of the operating system installed on the conencted to computers in the network?

-Did you do changes on the computer before this problem?

Step 1: I suggest you to choose a network location, and then try to access the computer and check if it helps.

    Choose a network location

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/choosing-a-network-location

Step 2: I also suggest you to check the network troubleshooter event logs to solve network problems and to check if it helps.

Use Network Troubleshooter event logs to solve network problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/use-Network-Troubleshooter-event-logs-to-solve-network-problems

Step 3: If the problem persists, I suggest you to follow the steps from the link and check if the problem persists.

Why can't I connect to other computers?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/why-can-t-I-connect-to-other-computers

    For reference:

Networking of computers running different versions of Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/networking-home-computers-running-different-versions-of-Windows

    Step 4: Disable the Antivirus

I suggest to disable the Antivirus/Firewall temporarily, then check the issue.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Note: Please make sure that you enable the antivirus software after the test to keep your computer protected.

Note: Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.

    Hope this information helps.

  • How to configure motorola nvg589 wake the wireless

I am trying to set up a modem/router ATT Morotola NVG589 for me to wake up my Mac LAN to file share with another Mac or Apple TV via wi - fi.  I have 3 Apple Macs on my home LAN.  All running the latest OS 10.11.1 and are "wake on wireless" capable.  File sharing is enabled.  No problem to access computers on any other computer when they are awake.  When other computers are not sleeping, they are no longer seen in the side bar of the Finder of the computer that I use and the files are no longer accessible. I also have an Apple TV (3rd generation) who cannot access computers and their iTunes files when computers are asleep (awake is not a problem).  ATT was no help.  It's their League of the "technicians".

Wake for network access requires Apple Hello sleep Proxy Service reside in the firmware of the router. The way it works is that your Mac records their presence on your local network before entering into sleep as usual. The router, which never sleeps, acts as a "proxy" for Macs and will respond to a request for remote network on behalf of a client by issuing a "magic packet" to the material of the Mac, which in turn he wakes up while the Mac can respond to the remote request. Periodically (about once every hundred minutes or more), a Mac sleep wakes up for a short time announce its presence on the network and then fall back to sleep.

Although it is open source, I'm not aware of any router not Apple that incorporate this feature. If you are interested in further investigation, then ask Motorola if your router has this feature by name: Hello sleep Proxy Service.

    Solved.

After a lot of research on reading and tests finally discovered the problem with drivers print and collate. Default settings for Microsoft Office 2010 and Adobe Reader are to gather if one that one copy is activated. For some reason any that caused printer to go crazy.  I tried the Standard driver and universal for the printer, but always had the problem of printing too many copies. I used the PostScript driver and it solved the problem.  Now just get the number of copies required. Thank you for your help.

  • Remote Desktop connection logon

I was able to use the remote desktop of Windows XP Pro. I have a computer in my living room and the other in the kitchen.  I can access computers from the other room .  What don't get me, is when using the living room computer for remote access to the computer in the kitchen, kitchen computer disconnects.  It is same for the kitchen for remote access to the living room.  I saw a remote technical support remote access to a computer and you can see them manipulate the desktop computer.  How this happen?

They do not use the remote desktop connection for this - they use another form of support office automation tool.  There are several on the market that will do that.

Remote Desktop connection resumes work stations, as you have seen and disconnects any account that is active at a time.
