Today's little rant

The little things that would make me happy.

Why can't the same free transform tool work in InDesign as it does in Illustrator?

Why can't the 'Z' key to Zoom in all applications of Adobes.

What are the little things that make you happy?

I know someone will go after your nickname later. Just thought that I have who would run out at the beginning

  • User accounts from sandbox

    Hello

Does anyone know what actually do the Sandbox user accounts?

    Thank you

Okay, I think that the sandbox account actually works. When you buy the application with the account of bac to sand, it prompts you as if you're always going to make the purchase of the PayPal account. However, the payment actually don't cross on PayPal. I thought that with the sandbox account that you would not even invited for the payment.

As with a lot of problems with App World of today, a little bit of explanation and communication of RIM would have been useful, rather than to have everyone just figure that out for ourselves.

  • Why Microsoft is difficult to treat?

Not sure 100% that this belongs here, but it has to do with Windows 7. Please do not hesitate to leave comments/similar experiences.

So, I have recently built my own computer. I bought my own pieces (motherboard, ram, graphics card, CPU, etc...). My computer was cool without an operating system in it. I had a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit cd with a valid product key from my old laptop that has not worked for more than 2 years already. I got this Windows 7 Pro 64-bit as part of a program at the University of computer science and was able to do this on MSDN.

I go ahead and try to install Windows 7 on my new computer, but realize that I get an error message indicating that I have no product key valid. I have re typed several times and realized it wasn't making me a mistake. So I call the hotline 24/7 Microsoft. The representative is quite nice and told me that this CD was which for an upgrade only (I used to have Vista on the old laptop). That makes sense, and I asked what my options were. This nice man told me to call the help desk the next day (it was already after hours) and tell them that I demanded a "clean install of a upgrade disk" and assured me that I would be helped no problem with this question. He gave me a number to call.

I called the next day at 17:00. I was literally transferred 4 times to different departments. I have sent the same sick at one point and had to tell my story 4 different times! I was put on hold during 1 h 30 when I was told it would wait about 10 minutes. At this point, I was frustrated. I am unemployed at the beginning to treat this and missed dinner even. The 3rd Department that I was transferred to VERY rough summer and at some point I kept my cool (I NEVER get angry).

By the time I was the fourth person, he re - explain to me what I knew. I told her several times that I realized that needed me at least Windows Vista or even XP in order to use my product key Windows 7 Pro 64. What I did not understand, is that I was told different people within Microsoft that this problem could be solved easily and without problem. Now get this:

I asked if there was anyway that it would be able to make me a Windows Vista product key or even a product key of Windows XP I can use simply my STILL VALID Windows 7 Pro 64 bit product key. He said it was IRRESPONSIBLE of me and there is NO WAY he could help me out. I've then it ask (and please let me know if you agree to the Microsoft community?):

So, you're not willing to help me by providing me with an obsolete operating system like Vista/XP? Do you really think people WANT Vista when you have Windows 7 AND Windows 8 JUST COMING OUT?  You are not willing to provide a long value customer with an OLD product key so I can use my Windows 7 upgrade cd product key still good?                 LONG SILENCE SINCE THE REPRESENTATIVE OF MICROSOFT *.

He went to tell me that there was no way he could give me a cd of Vista for me to put on level. It wasn't a loss of about three + hours, dinner and losing me money out at the beginning of the work.

It was just my little rant on the technical/customer support. Having been a customer for YEARS, I am very disappointed by this company. I always tell other friends who refuse to use this software that they were crazy NOT to use it, but now I understand. I am disappointed by the fact that I was promised to be helped and have this problem resolved as soon as POSSIBLE. This clearly shows (think about it, transferred 4 times) that Microsoft customer support has NO idea what they are doing.

    Thank you, Microsoft.

    Sincerely,

    A very disappointed customer.

    Hello

As a peer visit technical support for Windows and a few other Microsoft
Products consisting mainly of volunteers on all we can do is apologize for the
the treatment you received. Admittedly, this is not that difficult a question to solve
Although you might not like the answer.

The OEM of Vista version that was on your laptop is not transferable to any
another system if you need of a legitimate and legal non - OEM version of Vista or XP
with the right product key in order to use your Windows 7 upgrade. Or you
could sell your upgrade with key drive and buy a full version of Windows 7.

How to do a clean install with a Windows 7 upgrade Version

    =================================================

Another possibility is to use the output preview Windows 8 until Windows 8
RTM is available to the general public on October 26, 2012. The cost of Windows 8
is less than the full version of Windows 7. Keep in mind there is no upgrade
Since the preview in the RTM release, so you will have to re - install your
programs that you should be able to keep your data and settings Windows.
(I now use RTM and had no trouble reserving those.)

  • Action Script

    Hello-

I have a bitmap and jpeg image, both the same thing.  I want to be able to create different sizes and use a strict palette for them.  I have 16 colors to use, and his record as 8-bit... I put the script of action up to 8 bits with 16 colors.  Although it is 8-bit, which technically is 256, it will use only the 16 colors, I am allowing it to use.  What is the difference between the use of 4-bit - 16 colors to the bare wire using 8 bits with a palette of 16 colors. Is there something wrong with the help of only 8 bit with 16 colors?  Also if I have a PNG image which is identical to the JPEG and Bitmap then I change it to use only 16 colors?  Or is this really stupid?

8-bit does no harm. It acts on the size of the file you are saving. 4-bit would be 2 to the power of 4 is 16. With 8-bit, 2 to the 8th power is 256 colors. You may only use 16 but other colors although nonexistent require an address to be stored in just in case where at some point in the future, you have added to the palette. With the current internet speeds here level many designers of web sites today pay little attention to squeeze every last KB of the size of the file.

  • Anyone using ThinApp 5 yet?

Before doing an update of my environment, that I wanted to see if anyone else has tried this yet and if they have had problems. This new version is supposed to fix some things that were missing in the last generation, but I get requiring upgrading new things in the days of release!

While I am biased, I would recommend you use ThinApp 5.0 for all new applications, you need to capture. If your existing packages work today it little to no reason to upgrade. ThinApp > 4.5 and 5.0 coexist happily on your customers...

  • Try to solve the 6 number 1 target android game using oracle (sql or pl/sql)

    Gurus and mentors/friends,.

Today, had little space in my time to work, so I tried to reproduce an android game called "6 numbers between 1-target" in oracle.

All that I need help from you all is to make more effective/robust and garnish with a little bit of awesomeness (preferable in SQL ? I don't)

Please note that if you are busy, skip this question.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Game goes like this:

    -------------------------

computer gives you only 6 numbers...

    for example: 50,9,5,8,6,7

And using mathematics as operators '+','-',' *', ' / ' we need to get a result comparable to 292.  (this number 292 is also given by computer..)

All that we need is the formula apt for 292 out of these 6 numbers (pouvez/do not use all these numbers) using these operators (you can use them without the restrictions of many times where they are used and also the decimal places are truncated.).

    So solutions can be: 50 * 6 - 8 + 5/9/7, 50 * 6 - 8 or 50 * 6 - 8 + 5/7/9 etc...   (multiple answers are possible, all boiling down giving 292)

I just tried to write it this way, but its time consuming because levels rise. So I thought that I would be the dice in this forum for the best solution. (or maybe suggestions to improve my solution below)

    See you soon,.

EDIT: this solution is not all of the possible options. Go here for a shorter, faster, more complete solution.

Here's a solution that includes parentheses. It follows the rules of "game show" as odie_63 said: the result of an intermediate calculation must be a positive integer, and each integer entry can be used at most once.

There is some unnecessary parentheses, but they do not change the logic or the defined solution.

It works in about 70 seconds on my PC.

  • For loop - pl/sql beginner needs help

Hello guys and girls. I'm still struggling with loops and cursors and must create one today. You are my last resort I read at length this afternoon.

I need to run in sqlplus and code for each combination of my output columns of cursor that I create a csv file with the data of the declaration contained in the Forum... loop.

I'm not sure why it does not work and I am sure that I have huge mistakes in my process. Maybe you can give me help on this one?

    Thank you very much

    Hi, Seb,

Yesterday, knowing very little about your needs, I said it sounded as if utl_file was the best way to get the desired results.
Today, a little more about what you want, I can say without a doubt that this utl_file is the best way to get the desired results. You're actually disable features (such as headers and column of packaging) that could be helpful to use the COIL. Use utl_file and save a lot of time for you now, and for those who must maintain the code in the future.

If you want to help with the approach of SQL to SQL, after a test case complete (including CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements to recreate some of the data. Simplify the problem as much as possible, so that you still get the same error, with a minimum of code.
It would be useful to post a copy of your script generated dynamicaly, weekly_all_clients.sql, which causes the error.

Do one of your values includes the ampersand, '& '? If so, change the character that marks the substitution variables for something that does not appear in the values of the arguments. Example of RPF

    SET DEFINE ~

To include spaces in a value, quote the variable when it is used after the = sign in a statement to DEFINE, as you already:

    DEFINE this_x_id = '%1'

and also when you call the script. In other words, you should do something like this:

    SELECT DISTINCT
         '@weekly_one_alf'
         , '''' || fallennr          || ''''
         , '''' || alf_login          || ''''
         , '''' || int_fallennummer     || ''''
         , '''' || schaedling          || ''''
    FROM (SELECT ...

    in your main script, weekly.sql.
You can use either single - or double - quotes. Most people use quotation marks, because they fear that the confusion in the code.
Whatever you use, the value can contain either.

  • VI3 today, little question...

What happens if do anything I have to do to link my score to my education here account that shows that I had class...

    AND

My paper work says that it can take 4 to 6 weeks to receive my certificate, I'm in a bit of eagerness to get 4.0 certified at the end of the year, will be discussed if I take this test before I acually receive my 3.5 cert.

    Thanks in advance.

Your pass to review should get linked automatically can attend you the class - you have saved your presence for the class, and registered for the exam - the process to match the 2 should happen without doing you anything else. Simply match the 2 If you use the same email address for both, but even if you do not they will still normally fix things. If there is no problem and you don't hear anything, you can email [email protected]

I wouldn't worry about this for now, go ahead and book your VCP4 exam. Congratulations on getting your VCP3

    Scott.

  • In the modern world today's Marketing, how can stand out you as a certified Eloqua "newbie"?

I really, really like Ahmad Eytan' discussion Eloqua wages & experience that it highlights the challenges facing modern Marketing organizations trying to hire the right person with the right skills AND experience to make a fairly immediate impact. He had me looking back at the time--way, way back - when I started as a Consultant Marketing Automation for Astadia, knowing very little about Eloqua, but with a strong background in marketing database, marketing communication, the customer service and sales soft (Yes, I wrote 'soft', 'social' as 'social' not has not been invented yet--at least not online social).

It started with a five-day immersion in Eloqua and then plunges us straight on working alongside our practice for missions of client Manager. We have rapidly graduated (or been thanked) at the main customer commitments ourselves. I learned so much, so much--more than I want to go right now and not roughly Eloqua - but the fact is, it took that I immerse myself in the experience (at least what I demanded of me).

Thus, in modern today Marketing environment, accompanied by a certificate of the Eloqua University a topical... (A small side bar here...) I would like to go on record as saying that I like very much the value of the Eloqua University and although there could be some improvements, it's never been marketed as ' all you need to do is get these certifications to earn 6 figures - unfortunately, that the fault is on the people who chose to be known this way after being certified). .

Well, back to the modern Marketing of today environment - after reviewing of Eytan, stimulating discussion - how can a 'newbie' certified Eloqua stand out?

NOTE: my definition of a "certified Eloqua newbie" is a person who now works for a client of Eloqua that met certification requirements Eloqua University but has little experience 'real world' in the execution of Eloqua. I am open to changes to this definition.

There are many things that you ("you" now refers to all beginners Eloqua certified) can do... Based on my own Type A self admitted trends of OCD, I think that we need a plan for success. As in "you build your own plan for success of"how to become a superhero Eloqua".» Top priority? A mindset 'always learning' - and perhaps total immersion - to the point where a day's work does not stop at 17:00 (or it is sufficient to say, your "day" job ends then, but your mindset 'always learning' and then goes into action and work into the night, creation/copy of key marketing use cases and work to solve for them in Eloqua).

I'm not giving any secrets when I share away this is how I did it - and it was not easy, but if it was - come on, everyone, say it with me - If that were the case, then everyone would be doing... And today, it's even easier then way, way back in my day - because today, you have the most amazing resource at your fingertips - Topliners. You get to pick the brains of some of the biggest space - leaders thought to those running require centers everywhere in the world and everyone in between - all with a few clicks on your keyboard.

I have complete empathy for you - I have been there and done this-- but an attitude "I want it all and I want it now" you will be pain if you try to increase your career from the only certifications. You need to do more. Perhaps, more is to create your own plan for success to emerge. Maybe it is something different, but in all cases, take what you have learned in Eloqua University and ON BUILD IT! This is an incredible Foundation to succeed - OPPORTUNITY TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE TO A POSSIBLY CHANGE! You know now that you're not deceive everyone being certified Eloqua newbie - it, that is, certified, helps a LOT - but you've learned to preach by example. And again, you are not alone in the construction of your walk - you have all of the Topliners community at your fingertips!

So, my friends Topliners, what other words of advice can add you to my rantings? How can we help many newbies Eloqua certified in our community and we hope to reach those outside it--to become the next superhero of the modern Marketing world? Or the less than non-so-desirable-to-hirable as a short term goal?

As always, I look forward to your comments! See you soon!

Oh, did you raise many good points. Not to take us off-topic, but I could rant all day on Eloqua consulting firms, which let employees at low altitude (Eloqua skill-wise) loose on customer projects. It just not fair for the employee or customer. There was a company that does this for me, a few years ago, and since then dozens of people asked me to their subject for reference.  Needless to say, they have never get a good me and probably lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in projects because of this. Not worth it in the long run to cut corners.

Back to the question at hand...

You really hit the nail on the head in many ways. Really it comes down to one thing: work. There are no shortcuts. Always continue to learn. Embrace every challenge Eloqua you can and never say never.  Never be afraid to err by asking something "stupid", or "stupid looking. I remember several times that I submitted Eloqua support tickets or tickets to other providers related to things that I was convinced were bugs/key issues. Turned out to be my mistake. But that's ok. You brush, straighten and learn from them.

And finally, be modest.  You will never know everything about Eloqua. Be willing to learn from others, knowing that there may actually be a better way to do something that you spent a few days or weeks working on.

  • ios10 calendar today appears empty

Help! After the upgrade to ios10, the civilian part of my screen today is empty, although there are several events today. Weirder yet, the bubble little calendar has a thin red line at the top of the bubble, almost as if I could select and scroll upward a bit my event would appear. I already did some research and tried a few things people have suggested (including the passage of my language of the United States to Canada (?) and privacy settings). Any suggestions?

    try to restore your iPhone.

  • you want Sierra installs when you request the necessary to install a little help access/password?

    I got this twice today.

First when you install the new version of Safari and now during the installation of Sierra.

The GUI gets up and asks the system password install a little help.

    Any idea?

    George

Don't feel alone, it is part of the upgrade package. The assistance program has helped the new feature to Siri to connect with the Apple servers.

  • Can I customize the color or border of "today" on the calendar?

On the month or several week view, current date is described in the orange/red, but it's a little too subtle for me. I would like to play with the colors of adjustment ' today ' today ' - is - it possible? In addition to highlighting the, I would like to change the background color for this square on the calendar.

It is a pleasure to dive under the hood, if necessary.

  • Is it possible to recover hundreds of mails that have disappeared from my Inbox after it has been quarantined today by Norton Internet Security?

I received an infected email this morning which resulted in Norton Internet Security quarantine inbox. All received emails are gone now from the Inbox (with the exception of two who apparently arrived just before the infected message).
    (1) is it possible to recover the E-mails lost without re-infection of the Inbox?
    (2) how can I avoid this happening again? Until today, the infected emails have simply removed by Norton Internet Security on arrival without all the previous messages being lost in the Inbox.
I would be very grateful for help.

you force Nortons of UN-setting in the file quarantine.
Then, you create an exception for Norton analyzes the folders that contain your Thunderbird profile, so it is not repeated.

Be aware that the infection is not as severe as the cure. Maybe you can find someone to Semantec to explain how an email in Thunderbird can infect anything unless you physically open an infected attachment that Norton should catch when it is written in the temp folder before opening.

I lost a lot of time talking to corporate cretins to Semantec and they charge just "this is another line of defense" when asked for more details. Why, because they can simply justify not e-mail Scanner in any other terms. Enjoy it servers little or not by the challenges of usability and convenience.

This "mail" was written on your drive hard until Semantec has managed to make a mess of things. It's a little late don't you think saying "you have an infection. Do they expect also for stuff in your browser to be written on the disc? You bet they do. Where is the preventive surveillance to data transmissions that prevents infection before it is written on your drive?

  • why I can't open emails in my Inbox that happened before today - I can open the messages today and I can't open emails earlier tha are stored in other folders

Yesterday, I got a message that I "could not mail" because my Inbox was full and that I should delete some files or compact. He had only about 20 messages in there, but I had ignored the suggestions that I have compact for awhile I went to the menu and hit compact. Then I could get mail and I could open it while he was in my Inbox.

This morning I got the email and I was able to watch it and I deleted a lot. A little later (I had rebooted my computer at the same time) I wanted to watch an email in my Inbox. He seemed to open but didn't have any content at all. Similarly when I looked at the message at the bottom of the screen it doesn't show there at all. The only messages in my Inbox that I watch are the two that happened today.

I am able to open the messages that are stored in other folders. But by moving a message in the Inbox to a folder not in fact could not be opened.

Something else odd; in the Inbox, a message that I can open shows the sender evil - the sender of a message that I had been in motion to see if it could be opened if it was stored elsewhere; but the sender is correct when I opened the message.

    It's all very weird.

It sounds like you do not have a corrupt Inbox file.

First create a backup of your profile folder.
