  • No printing black ink for OfficeJet 6500 a Plus.

My Officejet 6500 did this once before and everything started to work properly.  Now print all colors except black. I replaced the cartridge HP 920XL but does not always print. Printer indicates that the cartridge is not empty. Checked the troubleshooting but no problem with the cartridge or seats.  Through printer head cleaning. Tried to align the print heads, but failed. Does this mean I need to replace the print head?

    Hi sandraYPO,

I understand that the black is not printing.

    Thank you for your response.
I'll be happy to help you with this.

I knew not what documents you have already tried.

Here is a document for the printer does not print black ink or color ink or prints blank Pages.

I have included a document for the 'Print head problem' or "Print head seems to be missing or corrupt" Message appears on the screen of the control panel. It will provide you with the instructions to manually remove and clean the print head.

This URL is a message for soaking the print head that you can try.

New black cartridge prints partially and light.

    I hope this helps.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Display for Officejet 6500 dissolved

Display of our HP Officejet 6500 all-in-one was slowly dissolved over the past month. We bought a year and a half so he's out of warentee. When we fax, we cannot read the number as we walked. All the necessary information on the display screen are not available to us. Is there something that can be done to solve this problem? Or is it just a lost cause of built in obsolescence?

    Thanks for reading,

    Naomi

Step 1: Use the flat screwdriver to remove the cover plate.

Step 2: Remove two black torx screws on the left and right side plate under shelter.  I have had no bit torx with my clients, so I used a small flat head precision screwdriver.  To the screw on the left, you will need lifting the lid on the additional paper tray.

Step 3: Using the flat screwdriver you used to detach the faceplate, press the tabs to remove the control panel.  There are 3 (or 4? can't remember now) tabs to unlock.

Step 5: Remove the control panel of the plateau in which it sits.

Step 6: Remove the control panel cover.  Simply pull directly outward.  There is no locking tabs.  Be gentle, but not a chicken.  It will survive.

Step 7: Remove the 6 (a little smaller than blacks) silver torx screws at the rear of the Panel.  Again, I used a precision over small flat screwdriver and it worked very well.  Once these 6 screws are out, the PCB (with fixed LCD) will come immediately.   No prying eyes, simply lift the opposite side of starting from the tabs and pull out.

Step 8: Prepare and know your Board of Directors.  Place the port of PCB LCD screen up (for lack of a better description) keep the flat cable on the back.  Don't forget, it hangs at the edge of what surface you put on that, we put a LOT of force on this piece.

Please forgive the degree of dirt... not my house... Home customers.

Step 9: Release the LCD display of the status bar it is in.  Holds it with very low adhesive tape.  Very thin pieces on the left and right.  I do not recommend using the screwdriver with it.  Just use your fingers and little patience and let the LCD come with light force.  It took 30 seconds to get out me of this bin.  Long time when there is a screwdriver sitting right next to you that you could catch and push underneath.

Step 10: On the head screwdriver flat number four... Take the tip of the screwdriver and press the cable sheet that is attached to the LCD screen directly on the edge of the circuit board.  Moving to the low one or two millimeters and press again.  Another mm or two and press again.  Go allllllll the bottom of the Strip and press.  I repeat: PRESS! DO NOT DRAG.  If you drag, you will tear the ribbon cable.  Also, do not reach the edge of the cardboard nearby because you could slip and go straight through the ribbon cable (as I did when I was getting impatient 1/4 the way through).  EXTREME PATIENCE is necessary for this process, otherwise it will be a huge waste of your time.

Not a redundant pic.  Show the difference in the movement of the driver to a different place, but on the same pins.

NOTE: Got to half way through and I wanted to see the difference.  Before you begin, my client had 6... Yes only SIX vertical sets of pixels on the LCD display (on 80 total vertical sets for display, 16 sets of 5).  I reconnected the Ribbon on the PCB cable and plugged the power to the printer.  WAHOO! I can see something actually readable!  So I disconnected the power, removed the ribbon cable and continued on the rest of the pins.

After pushing down the rest of the pins, I'm done with something that was MUCH more readable than what I started with.  There is ZERO that can be read on the front screen.  No, I'm getting somewhere.

    Could be even better but...

Step 11: A pencil any with an hard reset on it.  If it is too soft, it is enough.  As you did with the screwdriver, press the pins with the eraser firmly.  I was pressing hard enough to compress the low gum a little.  Figured, ' what I have to lose. " "If I destroy it, I say just the customer there is nothing I could do": Pei

Again, use patience and work down a few pins at the same time, so that each of them ends by pressing twice.

NOTE: After that, I hooked the rear plate until the printer just to see the difference:

YES!  QUITE usable now!  Not perfect!  But still a lot better than having to chuck the printer or not read the screen AT ALL!

Step 12: Return all together.  Look at the first steps, if you have forgotten how.  The screen was even better once I got it all back together.

I hope this helps! Absolutely had no idea it would work, reason for which I don't have pictures of what it looked like before... But trust me... it was literally only 6 visible vertical sets of pixels on the screen.  Read absolutely nothing.  My client is completely satisfied with using it like that because she could actually do what was on the screen.

The reason why I even looked into it was because she told me that it was getting worse... ALL HP recommendations of their (this) site says to unplug the power, press # 6, blah blah blah.  That's BS.  If there is a progressive problem like that, it's 100% always going to be a physical problem.  NOT a chip problem (which is what they tried to involve having the power to bike system.)  In fact, their resolutions meant: ' we do not have a clue as to why this happens.»

I know exactly why it's happening.  Go to pretend to change the ink cartridge.  Lift the top cover (not the scanner bed cover, the whole top cover).  OK, now close.  You get to an inch before it closes completely and BOOM!  Something loose in the prop-up mechanism and he slams down.  Well well with this past several times with paper jams if deleted and any other, the LCD Ribbon membrane that is literally a piece of tape cable slowly starts to come loose over time.  That's why you ALL experience get worse and worse.

Again, this is not a full proof solution, but it avoids the need to throw a system perfectly 'printing and scanning.

I hope this helps and good luck!

    Thank you

    Paul

  • Driver for Officejet 6500 E709a must be updated. Currently causes a distortion of the Excel worksheets.

By Microsoft, the driver for the Officejet 6500 E709a must be updated to resolve a problem that causes the deformation of MS Excel spreadsheets.  http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Office/Forum/office_2010-Excel/Excel-2010-scrolling-problem/166a8...

    The forum page linked above:

If the problem occurs in safe mode too, change the default printer and check. If Excel works fine after changing the default printer, then contact the manufacturer of the printer to update printer drivers.

    GHenry512, welcome to the forum.

Since you don't mention which operating system you use, here is the Support page for the printer.  Choose your operating system from the drop-down list to see if there is an update to the driver.

Please click on "BRAVO Thumbs Up" if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Support for Officejet 6500 E709n ePrint? Not easy to use!

How does a print docs from your iPhone on an OfficeJet 6500 E709n.  I installed the home & Biz ePrint iPhone app and was able to print something on my wifi enabled printer, but it seems like a process terrible roundabout.  I tell myself that I must be doong something wrong.  Can you give me the configuration and use the procedure to do this.  Thank you!

Great!  I'm glad it works for you. Say your question, you're right.  The E709n came out before the implementation of ePrint, so it doesn't have the same opportunities of access to the service.  As the Home & Biz app uses the local network to connect, it will allow you to print from mobile devices to the E709 on this network.

  • Cannot use the installer for Officejet 6500 all-in-one because of the resolution of the screen

    Hello

I thought I could install my new Officejet 6500 as a printer network during the weekend, but apparently, HP had a different opinion...

I use a netbook for my work as I travel a lot. Unfortunately, the screen resolution max available for these computers to wide screen is "limited" to 1024 x 576, which is less than the minimum required by the installation software (800 x 600), so I can't just install drivers and software. I tried to download the drivers from the HP support site, but ran into the same problem again.

I'd appreciate any help I don't have a desktop or a laptop with a ratio of the 'normal' view and I'm stuck with a machine that is "useless"...

    Thanks a lot in advance!

Yes. When you get to the window system requirements check, click the button cancel while now the keys Ctrl + Shift. It will bypass the sys. Req. check and continue with the installation. You may need to do this several times for the installation to continue.

  • How can I print black ink only automatic duplex mode for Officejet 6500?

When I set the printer to automatically print on both sides, it allows only color or grayscale of high quality as print color options.  If I print on one side, then I have a third option for black ink only.  Does anyone know how to get black ink only when getting both sides to print automatically?

Sorry, this is not an option.  When printing on the front of a page in duplex black is underprinted with color to make the 'together' impression and dry faster.  Thus "black only" is not an option when you print duplex pages automatically.

  • Defective cartridge for OfficeJet 6500 920XL ink

I opened and inserted a new cartridge HP 920XL and couldn't get it to lock in the Chamber, I received an error message.  When I looked at the cartridge, compared to the old cartridge, I noticed that one of the tabs at the bottom of the cartridge is missing, and he will not be with the printer. That is to say; It is broken and there is nothing I can do about it.  Is it possible to send it back to us for a replacement or?

You can contact HP Total Care and inform them of the situation and they will be able to help you. The number for U.S. and Canada customers is 800-474-6836. Customers in other countries may find their contact information here. I hope this helps.

  • Ink level report for OfficeJet 6500 a Plus

HP watch control centre is no longer an option for me to check the levels of ink for my printer. How can I get the complete control center folder options?

I understand that you are unable to check ink levels. I uninstall the printer and reinstall the drivers from the Hp website.

Let me know how it goes.

  • Update of firmware for Officejet 6500 E709n Wireless does not work

My OS is Win XP.  My printer keeps locking up.  I found a forum that says to use #6 when starting.  It works for a few hours, but it ends by crashes again once it goes into mode 'sleep'.  I found another blog that said to install the latest firmware.  I discover that I have firmware version 907AR, and HP web site has 935AR.  I downloaded the update and tried to install it.  He gets where extract the files, and then it throws the following error:

Firmware download utility has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Has anyone else had the same problem?  I disabled the wireless printer and connected to my PC via USB to perform the installation.  I tried to save the firmware utility and running it from my hard drive and it works on the HP website with the same result.

Never mind.  I followed the instructions by NOT using my wireless connection.  The printer connected to the USB port caused the installation fails.  When I ran the update, while the printer is connected wireless, the installation worked.  I just did the update, so I'll have to wait and see if it solves the problem with the gel printer.

  • Problems with 920XL ink for Officejet 6500 a more printer

I was very disappointed so far with 920XL ink. It is supposed to provide 2.5 x the ink, but since my printer use frequently will not be printed in black and I have to remove the cartridge, shake and replace to get the ink out. Someone else had this problem? I had no problem with the ordinary 920 black ink cartridge.

    HPnewbee Hey!

You may have a bad cartridge. If you have recently purchased it, it may still be in warranty. You can call to see if you can get a replacement cartridge.

  • Wireless for HP OfficeJet 6500 a configuration more all-in-One on Ubuntu 10.04

I bought a HP OfficeJet 6500 has more all-in-One CN557A, I want to use with ubuntu 10.04 64 bits as a wireless network printer.
Before, I bought, I checked the compatibility on www.hplipopensource.org and www.openprinting.org, and everything was in order.
The machine is detected automatically and fully functional when connected with a usb cable, but I failed to operate as a wireless printer.
    That's what I did:

I configured the printer on the network (through the interface of the printer), and it connects. It prints a 'Wireless Network Test report', and everything works. I can ping the local ip address and access it via the browser. HP eprint also works.

I installed hplip 3.11.10 and dependencies manually. I did this because the default hplip in ubuntu 10.04 did not recognize the device.

I ran 'hp-check', who gave without errors or warnings:

I then ran "sudo hp-setup", chose the device (which has been detected), has chosen my wireless network, enter the wireless security key. On the results of configuration window, I get two messages:
"Your printer has been correctly configured on the wireless network. You can now unplug the USB cable.

"The Ethernet cable is plugged to prevent you to connect to a wireless network. For a wireless connection, remove the cable and try again. (VSA000) »
