Toshiba Store.E TV + 1 TB is not external WD My Book 3 TB drive

Hi guys,.

my Media Player from Toshiba does not have my new drive HD mobile Pick-up.

I have a few drives, NTFS and FAT32, all work (from 1 to 2 TB in size).

My new drive is a WD My Book (3 TB), and he won't pick it up.

Is it possible that the firmware does not see the 3 TB at all (which means, stand)?

If I understand your question, you connect the WD My Book 3 TB drive to the USB 2.0 of the STOR. E TV +.
Right?

Port USB plug 'n play brackets so it shouldn't be a firmware issue.
I guess that the external drive requires too much power. The USB 2.0 port common provides 500mA power.
This is the norm, and if an external hard drive requires more power, the drive would not be recognized.

Did you check and test the drive external DRIVE with other computers that provide the eSATA interface?
I think that this should be done because theoretically the problem might be related to the laptop s / s computer eSATA port.

  • Toshiba STOR. E ALU 2 does not work

    Hello

My external HARD drive does not work, then I want to place a large file on it (it was a 175GB backup) and now the camera is very slow, I can't copy or replace something, but I can see whats on disc, I can open the files but it takes a long time. I want to just my pictures back, but I can't copy them to another disk. External drives starts whit copies the files, stops and does nothing for the rest of the time. Light flasses almost all the time.

    Forum search virus: nothing
CHKDSK: ends in front 3 in a critical error.
disc is not full: about 300GB of 1000
    same problem on different PCs

    I hope someone can help!

    The warranty is still valid?
I mean, what you want to do with it? You can not force the HDD to work properly.
In my opinion, you should contact Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

If the warranty is still valid ask replacement and also ask if they are responsible for your private data backup.

  • Toshiba Stor.e ALU 2 s 3.5 "does not work with my XBOX

    Hi all, first timer here

Just got a Toshiba external hard drive as a gift. Wanted one for a while, mainly to use with my XBOX 360 to watch movies and listen to music on. However the xbox does not pick up the hardrive (connected via USB), but he'll be looking for my friends generic hardrives. Anyone has any idea why?

It looks like a fairly recent model, here are the specs in the (very rare) manual that came with the hard drive:

    Toshiba stor.e 2 s 3.5 ALU "
    1 TB
    USB 3.0
Backward compatible with USB 2.0 (I don't know what that means "backward" here)

I'm not a computer person. I use the laptop to surf the web, media, applications etc, basic College work. Few of my friends have external hard drives, mainly cheap generic brands of the average and all work fine on my XBOX, just plug-and-play.

If anyone has any advice on how to do it, or even where to go woth my question I would really appreciate it.

    TIA
    Creamy

    Hello

In my view Backward compatible means that you can use this HARD drive with USB 2.0 ports. But the fact is that USB 3.0 port provide 900mA and USB 2.0 only 500mA.
I guess that's your HARD drive
    http://www.Toshiba-multimedia.com/en/store-externe-Festplatten/ALU2-s-35/
According to specifications, you can find info that this HARD drive should 900mA

Therefore connect the HARD drive to two USB 2.0 ports using a USB Y cable.
I think this will help you.

  • Toshiba Store E - TV + 1 TB hard drive remote is not working

    Dear members / Toshiba.

My E - Tv Toshiba Store + 1 Suzette, Hard Drive Remote Control does not work. I asked the UAE UNITED for new remote Toshiba dealers and service centres. but they did not...
Now I'm unable to use my hard drive without remote control, kindly give me a solution...

Not quite how you help mate.
I mean that if even the Toshiba authorized service provider can not control this remote control for Toshiba, I n t think any other retailer would be able to supply these parts.

However, perhaps you could get a 2nd part of the hand. Check some portals online like Ebay for example.
Maybe you will be favored by fortune

  • Toshiba Stor.e partner 1 TB, clicking and does not

I've had my Toshiba Stor.e partner 1 TB external hard drive for only less than a year after going on holiday with her in my bag I go back and it does not work. Even when I plug in the USB 3.0 slot is all for that click.

Sometimes the computer recognizes it is connected with the noise but he then instantly disconnects again.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion, you should contact your local dealer and make a warranty claim.
On this virtual path, I can't say for sure if the HARD drive has a hardware problem but this clicking noise is very suspicious to me.

  • Toshiba Store Art 4 USB 3.0 1 TB works not with USB3.0 or USB 2.0 port

    Hello
I have a big problem with my external hard drive and I hope someone can help me.

    Here's the thing:

I used my external drive only on computers that don't have any port usb 3 and all worked well. The drive has been used only with usb ports 2.

Now, I got a computer with a usb port 3 and I was happy to be able to use my external hard drive at full speed.
Has been fine until I wanted to transfer a file using my drive.

The disc has been recognized either of usb ports 2. The NTFS partition is a partition BRUTE! I had to ' chkdisk/f G:' to make it work again on my usb ports 2. And some files were missing!

Then, back on my other computer (usb port 3), the contents were not the same! I mean some of the files that I deleted when it is plugged into usb 2 returned when plugged usb ion 3! And then, back to the usb 2, partition became RAW and I had ' chkdisk/f G:'... once again!

So, to make it as simple as possible, after some testing, it seems that the drive can only be used on the usb ports 2-only on ports usb 3 but can not be used at a time, which is very annoying for a portable external hard drive.

I tried to format the drive to my usb port 2 and return on the usb port 3, the content came as if I had never formatted it and then back on the usb port 2, the RAW score again...

I use Windows 7 and 8.1 Windows computers.

Someone at - it experience that? What is the drive (Toshiba Store Art 1 TB USB3 4)? What is the USB 3 specification? Is - Windows 7 or 8.1 drivers?
And above all: what can I do?

    Thank you very much!

This external plug & play Toshiba HDD supports two USB standards: USB 3.0 and USB 2.0
HARD drive around needs bus power 900mA to work correctly.

The USB 3.0 port supports this standard 900mA. The USB 2.0 port allows only to 500mA.
If in case the HARD disk is not working properly connected to the USB 2.0 port, I recommend you to use a USB cable to Y in order to connect the 2 ports USB 2.0 HARD disk.

I have no idea why the content on the HARD drive is different, but from my point of few of the USB standard does not affect content.

In my opinion, the HARD drive wasn't working properly using a USB 2.0 due to the low power.

By the way: this HARD drive supports some additional features like the ability to oversight function and monitor to alert of the disk space that sends a alert when there is not enough available storage space.

For advanced users, Toshiba has added the ability to customize the backup routine, including the ability to select only the most common file types for backup and change how many times a backup takes place.

  • TOSHIBA StorE Art 2 TB external hard drive not recognized by HP Elite /Win7

I have a new HP Elite desktop computer running Windows 7 Home Edition:
A few months ago, I bought a Toshiba Store Art HDD Ext 2 to, which until today has worked well. Today, I started the PC in the morning (with no updates of Windows or other software) to find that he would recognize is no longer the Toshiba hard drive. He always recognizes the WD drives and SimpleTech drives when they are plugged. All external drives are powered separately and do not rely on the power of USB.

I tried the Art Store on other PC and it works fine. I tried to change the cables, the cable works on other players (and other cables will not do this work of Art store). I tried several ports USB 2 on the PC, with no luck * (but all the ports work with other readers).

I try verified Drvivers of COMPUTERS and MANAGING disks. There is no sign of the disk (not defective disc), it is simply not there at all.

I searched on the web - try a variety of techniques (disconnect the power PC) and much more. No luck.

    PC specifications are:
    Operating system
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit SP1
    CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT
    Intel Core i3 530 2.93 GHz 30 ° c.
    Technology of 32nm Clarkdale
    RAM
    3.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665 MHz (9-9-9-24)
    Motherboard
    MSI 2A9Ch (CPU 1) 38 ° C
    Graphics

    ATI Radeon HD 5450

    Optical drives
Device USB WD virtual CD 1110
    HP DVD-RAM GH60L
    Audio
    Realtek High Definition Audio

Works well with all other readers. and it worked with Toshiba until this morning.

    Clues?

    Thank you

I put t really know what can be the problem.
If everything worked a few days previously, first try to make back the OS using System Restore tool just to see if this will help.

I got a Toshiba Stor.E Canvio for about 2 years without problems

By using the external drive recently and the USB cable is removed accidentally. After attempting to connect the USB on my Mac again once the external HARD drive does not appear in the Finder.

Passing through the disk utility, the hard drive is visible, but I am unable to check or repair the disk.

    The message I get is

  • Re: Toshiba Store Art Exteranal 320 HARD drive not recognized

    Hello

I have a problem with my 320 GB Toshiba Store Art HDD Exteranal.
I bought it a week ago and everything worked well on different systems: Win 7 (64), Vista (32), XP Pro.
But today when I tried to use it it displays a message that * unrecognized device * and it cannot install the driver for this device.

Unfortunately there are no drivers to download for this device drivers Toshiba page.
I checked it on Win 7 (64) and Vista (32) - same problem.
I remember, the last time that I used it was on XP Pro.

I checked the internet for a solution, but in the end I had to write a message here.

    Hope for more help.

    > I bought a week ago and everything worked well on different systems: Win 7 (64), Vista (32), XP Pro.
    > But today when I tried to use it it displays a message this device not recognized and it cannot install the driver for this device.

If the HARD drive worked perfectly in the past without the use of drivers, then I guess that this has nothing to do with a missing driver.

In your case I would recommend to check and test the HARD disk on another computer/laptop running a Win XP or Vista.

If the drive HARD wouldn't connect and would not be functioning with the help of other computers, then a hardware problem is possible

PS: this external USB hard drives are Plug & Play compatible and so a pilot should not be necessary!

  • Toshiba Store Tv 1.5 - subtitles

    Hello everyone.
I m new in this forum that I recently had a Toshiba Store Tv 1.5.
First excuse my ignorance as Im not very in all technologies of this and everything, and my query may seem silly...

I wonder how can I put subtitles for movies Im store in the material.

I Don t really know how to do and I like to watch movies in their original language. I would appreciate if you could please let me know how to do it.

    Thank you much in advance.

    Hello

    I think that's not possible.
As far as I know the subtitles are part of the software.

  • Toshiba stor.e 1 TB HARD drive no longer works

    Hi all

I have a new Toshiba stor.e 1 TB HARD drive and was transfer photos and music to it and all was fine, I ejected it but when I plugged it back I get the message:

    F: is not accessible
    Data error (cyclic recovery control)

A quick search and it says that run cmd and chkdsk but that simply says:

The type of the file system is RAW
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives

    Please can someone help?

    Thank you

According to the article in the Microsoft Knowledge base, the data error (cyclic redundancy check) - indicates that the operating system has found a car with bad sectors or some other intermittent problem.

In my opinion, you should go to disk management and check if the external HARD disk is listed:

    -> Panel-> administration-> computer management tools--> disk management

If his list, you can change the file RAW to NTFS format
Then you can perform a chkdsk command.

But you lose the data, change the file format.

As far as I know, using the command: + convert DriveLetter: /fs:ntfs + (drive letter + should be replaced with the drive letter of the USB HDD) should not lead to data loss
