Touch control stopped working dv7 notebook

Whenever my laptop is awake mode standby or rebooted, I get a message that "Touch Control has stopped working.  This is a very annoying message that apparently has no real function as SimplePass always work the next time without any problem.

I did a Hard Reset and Panel to perform a repair on HP SimplePass.

None of these have solved the problem, and it has not changed.

Other suggestions for a "fix"would be greatly appreciated."

The problem is solved thanks to advice from a user to a different thread.

I had to open HP SimplePass, export my identity as a backup file, and then download a driver for the SimplePass program update.  I found using HP help and Support, had the scan for my machine and configuration system and search for the new driver under the Security section.  The file I used, specific to my machine, has been 'sp63224.exe '.

He offered two choices: repair and remove also the option buttons.  In the beginning, I chose repair, and this process does not work.  Once I was convinced to have the exported backup, I then used the Remove option, and the update then deleted the old version and install a new one.

The problem is solved with a new driver.

  • Sensitive keys have stopped working - DV7-3020sa

    Hope this is the right area where my question.

    My laptop is a Pavilion DV7-3020sa.

    The sensitive keys on the Panel just below the screen suddenly stopped working.

    I can't adjust the volume using the "cursor" key, I can't cut the volume either, nor can I turn on my wireless (I'm on a cable ethernet for the moment)

    Any ideas how I can get the touch sensitive screen working again please.

    Touch screen don't need any special driver of Toshiba.
    The driver is already part of Windows 8 / 8.1
    That is why I don't think there is a software problem, but of course, I would recommend you to retrieve the computer laptop back to factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disc just to check if this procedure would allow the touchscreen feature once more.

    This is a first common procedure in case something bad would happen to the laptop or the system.

    But if the system recovery doesn't help, the laptop must be verified by the service provider allowed for possible hardware malfunction. But let's hope, the recovery procedure would solve your problem.

    have you already tried to remove the mouse from the Device Manager? Or reinstall the driver would also be a very good attempt to resolve this situation as a whole.

  • remote control stops working

    I have a 600PC Touchsmart with TV tuner comes with a remote control to control TV channels / volume... etc.

    It worked well for about 12 months. Now, the remote control works well when the PC is first turned on, but then stops working after about 20 minutes.  Only, it works again when the PC has been activated and turn it back on.

    I replaced the batteries and the remote control - but this happens again - which leads me to think that this is a problem in the PC itself.

    This may or may not be connected, but at the same time - the wireless mouse has stopped working and I had to buy a different mouse wth a wireless transmitter, connected to a USB port and now works fine.

    Any ideas what could be the problem?

    To see if it solves the problem, follow these steps:

    1. "control Panel."

    2 system.

    3. "Device Manager."

    4 expand "controllers of Bus USB"

    5 right click on each of the items listed individually and select 'Properties' for each item. If there is a "power management" tab click on it. Make sure that the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power " unchecked.

    6 click on "OK" and "restart" your computer.

    If they are not already checked, simply reply with it.

    My touch screen worked fine a second, stop working the next day. Just the keyboard worked, so I rebooted and updated and when we turn back, the touchscreen still does not work.     I understand that the touch screen and the keyboard of your x 2 Split have stopped working.

    Without any type of input devices, it would be impossible beyond troubleshoot a hard reset. To do this, remove the shelf and hold the power button to 8 + seconds force a stop down.

  • Standard OpenHCD USB Host control stopped working (Code 10)

    Twice this week, taken my notebooks usb stopped working, after you run the troubleshooter and clicking on the fix for this problem - nothing the problem was still there.

    Open the console of the system and by clicking on host usb controller he helpfully said that the device was not working (code 10) I have no idea what code 10 is.

    I uninstalled all the USB drivers, restarted my laptop and on my spare mouse inserting my laptop did indeed reload the usb drivers and everything works now. Thank you.

    The culprit was a driver for a HP officejetpro who has been uncomptable with my CPU (AMD C - 50 rated at 1 GHz).  Windows7 64 bit, 4 GB of Ram. HP sent me a fix but as nothing works I could not install it.

    I have not yet installed the printer. and once again thank you for your advice.

  • Drop-down controls stopped working.

    My drop-down controls suddenly stopped working in the middle of working on a document. I changed my font of portions of the document by selecting the text using the right click command. I noticed that I could always change it by using the tools at the top of the page. Nothing in my command click right and no works does nothing in the drop top as file, editing, layout etc. For example, I can't save or print without using keyboard shortcuts. It lets me select the action, but does nothing. I do not think I would have accidentally hit something because what I was doing is a fairly simple task. Any suggestions?

    Are you sure that the touchpad has not been accidentally disabled by pressing a combination of keys?
    Usually the touchpad can be activated a disabled using Fn + F9
