Touchpad freezes / cursor disappears on Windows 8.1

I have a Ultrabook from Split x 2 HP I bought a week ago.

I've upgraded to 8.1 Windows recently. I noticed that my touchpad freezes and my cursor doesn't work anymore, no matter how many times I click or try to revive. If I start using the touch screen, the cursor disappears completely and does not return. Happen completely randomly - sometimes every two hours, sometimes more than once per hour. It has nothing to do with the number of channels I open or how many times I use it.
I go to Device Manager to control the mouse pointer, and it says that the device is functioning properly. It shows also all the updates have been installed.
Sometimes it lasts only 10 to 15 seconds, other times I have to close my computer and wait 30 seconds before you open it, and then the mouse will reappear.
The driver is dated 23/08/2013 and the version is 17.0.2.24
Just in case, here is the information on my computer:
Intel Core i5-4202Y 1.60 GHz
4.00 GB RAM
64-bit operating system

It worked for me.

Go to the Generic USB (two of them) hub in Device Manager.

Go to the power management tab

Uncheck the box allowing the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Turn it back on.

My touchpad stopped everything by searching for a solution. I have 'unchecked' boxes and the touchpad are back to life before the reboot. He has worked since then. (three days)

I've seen a lot of discussions on this problem on here, but no resolution.  Each aid seems to have everyone check their settings, but I never see no follow-up, indicating that it is resolved.

I did everything suggested, including relocation or installation of drivers more recent but less specific and eventually went back to reinstall the drivers installed initially.  That's what I see:

I have a Toshiba laptop, P845T, with a 3.1 Microsoft desktop receiver connection model 4000 wireless keyboard and Laser Mouse 5000.

I loaded a few pointer graphics (HAL9000) if different from the standard in order to follow when the mouse is pointing upwards and disconnect it see where are.  Here's what I see:

When I start the computer from a stop, I almost always comes back to the standard mouse pointers.  At some point during the day, they will disappear.  The mouse is essentially functional, but difficult to use because I have to constantly use the CTRL key to know where he is.  IE10 and MS Word seem to be triggers, but I could not confirm this.

Before or after a failure, but once restored to the default settings of the mouse, I can open the control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Mouse and get the mouse properties window.  On the "pointers" tab, I see the pattern that I have previously downloaded and saved as one asset/chosen, but I actually use the mouse in endangered or by default until I hit OK or apply.  Please note that I have not changed a thing on the window - only watched and clicked OK.

I hope someone can tell me something I've not seen many times seen as questions on several previous posts.  I'm sure I got something wrong or do something wrong, but I'm quite frustrated.  The mouse still seems to disappear when I haven't the time to restart and reset.

    Hello

In the face of this problem if you use the built-in touchpad drivers?

This problem can occur if the mouse drivers are not installed properly or the drivers are not compatible with the operating system.

You can upgrade the laptop Chipset drivers and check if that helps resolve the issue.

It seems that my computer freezes for a split second every 3 seconds approximately. The problem persists in safe mode. Dell Inspiron 1520, servicepack2 of vista running. I've never had any problems with this machine. Here's a video I took of the number: http://youtu.be/fbUeK8U7wHw

    Thank you.

Updated the chipset drivers even though it said I was with the best.

    2:
Run a SFC scan, which revealed no violations of integrity or files not repaired.

    3:
five hours and 8 infected files later, my computer is totally cleaned.

I opened the event viewer, but I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for. There are many changes to the machine because it began to act up, which were intended to correct the problem. I installed the Service Pack 1, then 2, scan MS Safety and new chipset.

I also ran a memory diagnostic, but all was well.

  • My mouse cursor disappears randomly everything using Windows 7 64 bit

Original title: the mouse cursor disappears

My mouse cursor disappears randomly everything using Windows 7 64 bit.  This can occur when you use IE8, but also other programs.  I have to reboot to get it back.  This seems to be a common problem.  Is there a solution?

    Thank you

Have you installed Windows 7 device drivers for your make and model. If this is not the case, then go to the support web site factory and download Windows 7 drivers to a folder on your PC and then first install the drivers for the card mother/chipset, followed by USB, SATA, LAN, Audio and all other pilots.

Also check the download site of the manufacture of the graphics card for the latest Windows 7 drivers for your card.

  • TouchPad freezes on Satellite L40 - 18Z

    Hi all, first Post.

I am a former technician of I.T. & worked on computers since 1984, & on laptops since 2001.

This topic is mainly about the L40 - 18Z, but 2 other models are mentioned.

I met a problem with the TouchPad on a Toshiba L40 - 18Z, (& also an A100-338) running costs two installs 32-bit Vista Home Premium but not a recovery Partition or a Dvd.
Same problem as well on a L300 - 25K running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium.

The touchpad freezes sometimes. Sometimes, you can move the arrow cursor, but very slowly.

All 3 work fine, now with a Usb mouse.

ALL the latest drivers on the Toshiba site are installed on laptops all 3.
All updates are installed with Microsoft.
ALL have the latest Bios updates.

The L300 - 25K & the A100-338, I think I solved the problem by installing the package of value added, but the VAP software is not listed in the section for the L40 drivers.
I tried both the L300 & A100 VAP on the L40, but they did not work.

Strangely, on the L40, I reduced the 1280 x 800 screen resolution to 1280 x 768 & the problem seems to have, at least for the last day or so!

Also, I found that unplugging the power cord "cured" the problem on all 3 laptops right now.

I tried to feed all 3 laptops without batteries at the same time that the fault occurred, but cela made no difference, while the batteries must be in agreement.

The L300 is my own personal laptop & the other 2 are members of the family.

I don't think that laptops specifications is relevant to this problem, but let's go anyway:

    Toshiba Equium L40 - 18Z (PSL48E-033008EN)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T2330 @ 1.60 ghz
    1.5 GB Ram Pc2-5300
    80 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba A100-338 (PSAAQE-006008AV)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T5200 @ 1.60 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    100 GB SATA Hdd
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba L300 - 25K (PSLB9E-03M02UEN)
32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium (original Vista HP)
    Intel Celeron 900 Cpu @ 2.20 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    120 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

I would go to the bottom of this for all future repairs, so if anyone has any suggestions...?

    > I found that C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTPEnh.exe has been "blocked" so I moved the file to the desktop, unlocked, then he came back

SynTPEnh.exe belongs to the Synaptics touchpad driver and I think that you have software installed on the laptop that doesn't work with this touchpad driver
It's only a guess, but maybe some firewall or anti-virus tool could block this exe. Maybe you should check it using a clean operating system.

Also try reinstalling the driver for the touchpad maybe it helps.

  • Pavilion dv7 cursor disappears, flashing bright orange...

I was typing an email when my cursor disappeared (for a fraction of a second, a graphic appeared on my screen, looked like a finger pointing down, transported to a keyboard?) and an orange light under the longer upper part of the mouse pad started to blink.  In addition, there was a white light flashes in the fingerprint sensor (which I don't use).

The only way I could get out of it was to manually turn off the computer, and then restart it.

No idea what could have happened?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Looks like you may have accidentally disabled the touchpad.

Try double clicking the top left of the touchpad area - do you think that the new screen image (the orange LED by the touchpad should also lit to indicate that the key is off).  To re-enable the touchpad, simply double-click the top left area again.

  • HP Paviliion cursor disappears after using the touch screen

    Hello

So, I just bought a new laptop from HP Pavilion special edition beats 15z Touhscreen about two weeks ago. I was with the sliders and just decided to try some custom cursors. I have downloaded them (link to the page for the sliders below) and selected in the Control Panel, no problem. However, as soon as I use the touch screen, it disappears (which is normal), but when I try to use the touchpad or mouse, it doesn't come back, unless it's one of the other cursor types: link select, busy, etc.. Also, if I use custom to select all normal but the cursor jumps back. Finally, even if I click on a link that would otherwise use the selection cursor link using the touchscreen, the link selection cursor appears again when to switch it on touchpad.

The other problem is happening sometimes just by default, for the most part in Google Chrome. However, with the custom cursor happens no matter what, and it's a major problem.

Thanks for you help with anything that can give me.

    Hello Tony,.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Lets try the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: As you said that it happened also with the default cursors as well, I suggest you to try the mouse setting in Windows 8.

    1. go in Control Panel.

    2. go in the mouse settings.

    3. uncheck the option for the mouse to disappear while typing.

    4. now check if the system built in the cursor disappears.

Method 2: As you say it happens only with custom sliders, I would suggest that you check to see if the problem persists even after placing the computer in a clean boot state.

  • The mouse cursor disappears on the address and search bars.

In Firefox 10, the mouse cursor disappears from the address bar or the search bar after a certain time, or I guess that after visiting a site that I paste below. I don't see what part of the word I click on the address bar or the search bar for the correction because there is no mouse cursor. After clicking on tools and options cancel, the mouse cursor appears (I make no changes to the options) or when I click on customize in the navigation bar, then the icons I click on Cancel again without modification, and the mouse cursor appears again (as you can understand some trigger for windows option implementation even without change is done). I uninstalled firefox 10 just for this reason. Back to Firefox 9. Safe mode - same problem happens. So no problem addon. And the same thing happened in another operating system, so this isn't a fault of a facility.

Problem solved for me in the last version of firefox v.10.0.1
